Hi Guys,
I have got a HTC Snap and live in Australia, I went into the marketplace app and got Office 2010 Mobile right at the end it comes up with an error saying fail can't complete installation.
I have also downloaded the cab file from the link here as that person with the links is in Australia as well. But when I go to install it it comes up saying can't install program or setting as insuffiecnt permissions. I am installing it on the Device.
Thanks
Matthew
You need to install it to your storage card, it's to big install to the device memory.

I have a MDA Pro running WM2005 and everytime I try and install TOMTOM I get the error shown in the attachment and the software shuts down. I am using Activesync 4 for the connection
Thanks
I don't get exactly the same error but the setup also fails for me.
To get round the problem just copy the .cab and .ini files directly to your memory card then run each of the installs manually.
Worked for me.....
hi there,
i bought a new htc touch cruiser, all its features are working, even the things i dont need but i couldn't install & run copilot live 7.
when i try to install it does install it actually and says that the installation is successful. then puts a shortcut to main screen.
but if i try to run copilot, it says "program cannot be open. please make sure storage card is installed or make sure that the program is downloaded correctly" (this is not the exact warning, but the translation can give you an idea i hope)
what can be the problem? what im missing?
all help will be appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I know there is a thread about this already but it is marked as solved and the solution that the OP came up with did not solve the issue for me and that is the only thread I could find about it. So I am starting a thread so that maybe we can find a solution the problem.
I am on windows 7 64bit and here are the steps I have taken to try and apply the update.
1. Installed WP_update_tool
2. Placed the 7740 update .bin in the same folder as the cab sender batch file
3. Ran the cab sender batch file and selected S to send the cab file to the phone but then I got an error saying that it could not find zunecfg.dll so I got the zunecfg.dll file from the location where I installed the zune software and copied that file into the tools directory where the cab sender batch file is located.
4. Ran cab sender again and it rebooted my phone into download mode and everything seemed to be going ok but then it errors out with error code 80070013 then I restart the phone and the update did not work it is still on 7720
I have tried on multiple computers with the same result on each one the big thing that I can think of that I haven't tried is using a computer running a 32 bit version of windows as I do not have access to one. But I have installed all of the 64 bit versions of the tools so I do not think that is the issue.
Attached is a copy of the log files that I pulled with the cab sender.
Hopefully one of you geniuses can help me out as I am doubtful that ATT will every get the update out...
same issue here! I tried increasing reserved space and my computer has 80gb of free space so i dont think thats the issue. I have an ATT dev unlocked Titan btw
Hi guys I have the same problem.
Were you able to fix it? If so can you share the solution with me?
Thanks.
Replying to myself in case this helps anyone. I fixed it by removing the battery when the phone is rebooting. I have now clue why but this fixed it for me.

Hi All,
I have been using my 2nd gen Samsung Win Phone for a while (Omnia W - GT-I8350 to be more specific). I have recently interop unlock it.
The main account on the phone is a US Live account. So the app store tied to the US version. I however now living in the UK and wanted to install O2 Priority Moments. The app is only on UK store and when I tab the link on O2 website from my phone, it doesn't allow me to install it due to country restrictions.
I managed to found the app page on my PC, and downloaded the XAP for installing via SD card. But my phone doesn't have a card slot. I tried to sideload the XAP using Deploy software. But it cannot be read by the application.
Also, I thought normal XAP should have no difference to a ZIP file. But those I downloaded from Windows Phone website just cannot be open with 7zip or RAR software. The same happens to another free app that I wanted to install, but only available in the Hong Kong store.
Can anyone shed me some light on sorting it out?
Many thanks,
Jack

As far as I know, XAP files cannot be opened and edited like, for example, apk files in Android, because Windows Phone isn't open source. Therefore, all the apps are protected from editing (you actually CAN open them in WinRAR!).
If you have a proper XAP file of the app, you should be able to sideload it with Tom XAP Installer for example. But I'm fairly new to the world of Windows Phone, so you might wanne wait for someone else's answer. In the meantime, take a look here, it seems to be possible to change your region and therefore download the app the official way: http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/f...-allow-changing-your-windows-id-live-location

I have no problem in deploying other homebrew apps and/or "modified" apps in to my phone. Only those XAP downloaded from the windows phone website, those supposed to be installed via SD card, does work for me.
Anyone know how to make it work?
Thanks,
Jack

I think it's because now apps from Marketplace are encrypted, so maybe only Marketplace app can decrypt and install them.
If you're phone is unlocked, you can make an archive file for each installed app and then save it into your pc (if you search in this forum you should find some threads about this item).
Winrar or similar software "don't know" they need to decrypt the xap file.
"XAP downloaded from the windows phone website, those supposed to be installed via SD card"
Only for Windows Phone 8

Various different apps. not only one, but coz they are free apps, no one would bother to crack them.
Hi. I bought HTC One M8 for Windows mobile (T-Mobile US version) running WP 8.1 OS few days ago. Whenever I try to log into Microsoft account I get error code 0xFFFFFE70 saying 'We weren't able to activate your phone' with an advice to contact Microsoft support regarding error.
I have searched on-line for this error and have tried everything advised including correcting system date/time settings, soft/hard reset of phone, even reformatting the stock firmware with WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) and also HTC custom tool. Nothing seems to resolve this error so far. Due to this I am unable to use windows store to download apps or log into my one drive on phone etc as each one of these requires Microsoft account login.
I was thinking maybe anyone can help me by providing me with latest windows 10 preview RUU for HTC M8 for windows (T-Mobile). If you installed it on your M8 via WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) then you can copy it from C:\ProgramData\HTC\Packages\Products (default directory for WDRT). Maybe Windows 10 preview would solve my problem.

I have finally managed to resolve the issue via manually pushing update cabs (first 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11) via 'iutool' as described here.
In this case as I was unable to install and run Windows Insider app via MS Store or Sideload it (as it required MS account login) I went straight to pushing cabs via iutool without any prior modification via Windows Insider app as mentioned in thread and it worked. After that mobile got updated to 10585.164 build and now its working perfectly.
Hi Surgeon. I am having the same issue with the same variant of this phone. I'm pretty sure I get the jist of how to use the uitool, but I think I'm missing the step about using the Insider app to start the process as it's not installed on this phone. I have a few questions about how you did this:
1 - How did you sideload/install the Microsoft Insider app without being able to log into a Microsoft account?
2 - Coming from 8.10.14203.306, would I just install the 2 files ( 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11)?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

No need to install Insider app. Just run following commands (Modify depending on your system locations) via Command Prompt in Admin mode (Windows key + X > Command Prompt (Admin) )
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Phone Kits\8.1\Tools\bin\i386\
to check whether device connected or not
iutool -l
to transfer cabs (located in c:\cabs)
iutool -v -p c:\cabs
(Install cabs in 2 steps. First from 14203-14219 and let phone update complete. Then delete these cabs from c:\cabs and paste 14219-10586.11 cabs in c:\cabs and repeat same steps and let the phone update.)
Thanks a ton! I just got home from work and I'll try this in a bit.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I am able to transfer the files and the phone attempts to install, but then throws out an error saying it is unable to open the update.

When I downloaded the file from the link on the iutool page you referenced, it downloads as a .txt file. Does it matter if I'm sending that file as a .txt to the phone or does it have to be converted to a .cab?

Brother these text files contain download links for cab files. Open these links one by one or simply copy and download all together via free download manager (portable edition here)
Cab files downloaded from both text file links are about cumulatively 788mb (51 cab files of about 52.8 mb for 14203 to 14219 and then 47 cab files of about 735mb for 14219 to 10586.11 update.)
Thanks again for the help and clarification. I do though have another question about installing the .cabs. After the first 8 or so cabs I installed, the OS is updated to 14219.341. Am I able to skip the rest of the cabs in link 1 and start installing cabs from link 2? I ask because when I install the 13th cab from link 1, the phone reboots but instead of the white HTC Not For Resale screen, I get a black backlit screen and unable to even shut the phone down with the power button. I've had to reset it using RUU and start over from scratch.
Edit 5/7/2016: No need for reply. I was making this harder than it actually was. Once I stopped being dumb about it, I managed to get the phone fully updated and it's running perfectly now in Windows 10. Thanks for all your help in pointing me towards the solution.
