DOTS!!!!!!! - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Can a really good developer create the game dots????!!!! i would thoroughly enjoy it and im sure alot of people would, and i would even pay for it

You haven't been particularly specific but you could try here:
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-ustwo-app-dot-xECC.aspx

I'm pretty sure he's talking about that paper and pencil game where you start out with a giant grid of dots and then each player takes turns drawing one line to connect two dots (no diagonals). If a person completes a square, they write their initial in the center and get one point and get to draw another line (so if you're not careful you could open yourself up to a chain reaction where the other player scores a bunch of points in a row).
I've actually thought that it would be fun having this game too and haven't seen it in the market. Not that I've looked in awhile.
*edit* here's a simple version of it.

Bluxu SteepleChase Version 1.0

Hi everyone,
Just released my first game on the Android Market, and wanted to know what people think! Most of the testing was done on an HTC Hero, so it would be good to hear from people running different hardware. There's a market link below and more details on my website (bluxu.com). Enjoy!
Description: SteepleChase is a race against the clock which tests your navigation skills to the limit! In this fun and frantic game you must find your way around a randomised course armed with only the most basic tools. Compete with your friends to obtain the highest score on a course of any length you want - from a wander round your neighbourhood to a road trip across America!
(Oh and here's an apk as well in case you want to install it yourself!)
** Version 1.0.1 now available (fixing most of the problems people have mentioned in this thread)! Updated apk file available below! **
I loaded it. Will try it out
On rooted Desire.
Interesting idea!
Thanks Berliner42. What did you think of it? Does it all work okay? Anyone else have any feedback - I'd be delighted to hear what you think!
Hi, i tried the app, seems interesting. I noticed, that the app doesnt close the gps after exiting. I had to kill the app app with the taskmanager.
Interesting!
Just a bug: When GPS is closed from PowerWidget, app just freezes (Froyo Rooted).
Edit: Only at first run. I cant press "Accept". After first run its okay, it asks for it

There is turn GPS of after exit, in the options.
Amazing idea There are so many people with crazy ideas, I like that xD
Will try it out tonight when I get home (I don't have USB rights on the work's PC :/)
Edit : I'm stupid, I didn't see the QR xD I'm downloading now
Edit 2 : If you don't activate the GPS on launch, then the app will freeze.
And I thought it would impose me a destination xD But choosing one is cool too
Hi, I like this idea, and downloaded it from the market.
I have HTC desire and whenthe game starts the screen for the map is quite small (screenshot attached), and have to zoom out to see the waypoints and finish.. when zoomed out it it as again too small and hard to read...
I'm mainly wanting this for multiplayer, so am waiting anyway..just letting you know, if this is isn't supposed to be like it..
Thanks, Matt
Edit, can't upload pics from phone, will do it soon..
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I should be able to do a release to fix bugs at the weekend.
@barisahmet/khoral: thanks for your comments, i'll look into why it crashes on start-up if gps isn't enabled and fix it before the weekend
@khoral: i'll implement an option where it chooses a destination for you in a future release - thanks for the idea!
@mattmanwrx: it would be great to see a screenshot if you can get me one. i'll change the starting zoom level so the map doesn't start too zoomed in. The multiplayer version should be released around the end of January as an update on Android market (I'll post on here to remind people as well!)
I forgot to post them... email reminded me!
Attached!
Thanks
Second picture is the first snapshot (not zoomed at all, just as the game starts) seond snapshot is zoomed out (cant see the waypoints or the end).
Thanks for the screenshots - I'll look into why the map is so small on your device (it ought to fit most of the screen). Hopefully I'll release a fix at the weekend.
No problems... if it helps the screen is 480x800 resolution....
sent from my DeFroSTed HTC Desire
OG Droid: Bugless 0.6.1
Runs great, Haven't taken it out for a spin yet might do that tonight with friends. Few things you might add orientation so you can have it in landscape. Slide open and closed keyboard and that didn't cause any problems at all. Also some ideas, it being a game you may give it different difficulties like Easy: Option to view map open at no cost and a Hard: Option to view map comes at cost of points. Just a idea to add some options to it. Also Multiplayer I have some ideas if you would like to hear them just shoot me a pm. I really like this app and sure beats playing the penny game in my car when me and friends are bored.
Also might add disclaimer that you are not responsible for anything that happens during the course of the app like people speeding, running stop lights/signs, getting into wrecks. I think that most people are smart enough to know that they must obey the laws while using this. Just a thought for the 1% of people out their who try and always pin it on someone else
Thanks for the extra info mattmanwrx that should help me sort things out. And thanks for your feedback bmxmike, I'll definitely put those ideas into a future release.
Keep the feedback coming everyone! Cheers!
Update
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that we should have an online scoreboard system set up in the next release, which will be with you soon! In the meantime do let me know your thoughts and comments on the game, or leave me a review on the Market! Thanks for your support!

[GAME][APK] Egg Catcher

Hi, I would like to ask for your help for our study. We created a game, entitled Egg Catcher, for our study/thesis. Our professor told us to post this game online to have an online evaluation, thus, we cant afford to upload it the market because it's a bit expensive for us. So we decided to post it here in the forum.
We kindly ask for your feedback, whether it is good, bad or if the game needs improvement, and also your comments about the game's compatibility issue. As far as I know, the game works well with Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830.
I attached some screenshots of the game such as the Main Menu, the game itself and the highscore. I also attached the apk of the game.
This is for educational purposes only, thank you guys!

Thank you for your comments and suggestions! About the force close issue, my partner, Pat Soo, already fixed the bug when entering the high score after the game. I've attached the new apk of our game, hope you like it!
_____EDITS_____
I tested it using my LG-P690 Optimus Net.
Great Start!
I checked it out using CDMA Razr XT912. I noticed a couple of issues among the other things that have already been said, (no volume control, posting name FC).
On the Razr;
1. The eggs fall all the way to the bottom of the screen, but, when they break they show up near the top 1/4 of the screen instead of on the "ground" at the bottom...
2. The sound buttons in the main menu, the sound button on the left works to turn off all sound effects and music, but the one on the right (Musical Note) does not work.
3. When opening the application, it goes straight to the high scores board instead of the main menu screen.
4. the rate of eggs dropping increases at a EXTREMELY high rate, this may be the desire of the developer but it seemed that after just a minute there were more eggs dropping than could ever be caught with accelerometer controls. (although contrary to other posts I have seen on this the speed of the accelerometer controls worked very well for me, quick and smooth with the Razr. Differences in manufacturing of each device and the accelerometers used in each could really cause some issues across a wide variety of platforms so a touch option would be a nice choice.)
5. Finally the last thing that I noticed is that if you press your "Home" button while still in a game it will not pause or even stop the music, so you will have to reopen the application from your app drawer to close out the game and stop the music.
I like this concept for a simple children's game and with accelerometer controls it could even be useful to help development of hand eye coordination skills. sadly as stated the wide variety of accelerometers in devices could cause a great variance of control speed, I think this is a really cool class project and hope to see more and more of these types of projects shared!!!
OVERALL RATING: Still sanding out the rough spots but... TWO THUMBS UP!!!

[Game][3.2+][Free] - HeadacheFactory

Hello everyone,
here is my first game called "HeadacheFactory".
I wanted to create a game without any enemies. The only enemy you have is your sense of orientation which you will surely lose in the process of the game.
And even though I didn’t believe anyone would ever make it through the first level, my youngest nephew managed it after just two days. So, I had to create another more complicated level.
It is available on google play. Just search for HeadacheFactory.
Let me know what you think and of course post problems running the game on your device...
Regards
Thomas

You have to navigate through a labyrinth. If you touch the walls, you have to start from the beginning or a savepoint that you have reached before. You've got to collect the purple dots, otherwise the grey square is growing and it is even harder to get through the labyrinth. And to make it even harder, the hole playground is rotating and zooming in and out, so you are going to lose your sense of orientation.
There is a little video on google play, that explains the gameplay. But the best way is to start playing. My nephews love it...
let me try
Missing this days big forum like XDA, i was a active user in Android Central now into XDA.
The game concept is interesting, please upload the screen shot.

[App] [4.1+] Planets

Hello all!
This is my first post on this forum so if I'm posting this in the wrong place, let me know! I would like to show off my latest Android App that I've been working on for the last few months. It has been a long path of changes, changes, and more changes! I've really enjoyed how far I've come with learning development. So here it is!
Planets is a educational app that is centered around providing users with information about the planets in our solar system. It also has info about other objects like the Sun and Pluto. I recently redesigned the app to make the content easier to scan and make it a little more fluid like. I have a community[1] set up with Beta testing for the people who want to test stuff before it's released to the public. I am looking to gain a larger user base but my main goal is just making the app look nice and easy to use. You can download[2] it on the Play Store and feedback/ratings are appreciated. So far, I've got about 1,400 downloads and I'm hoping to get more! Also, you can view the full source code for this app[3]!

Wonderful application, always been an admirer of Astronomy and this is just brilliantly put together. Will come back with a decent feedback soon .
I know it is easy to pick on any application but knowing how much effort might have gone in does help (through your github post).
Is it possible to convert the given units into scientific units (e.g. mass of sun = 1.9891 * 10^30 kg)?
Hi, I'm a fan of astronomy but I'm also a graphic, web-designer/developer... I love you app and, if it is possibile, I want to make some themes for this app!
Very nice app. Informative and yet easy on the eye. Looking forward to further updates.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm always up for more astronomy. Great work, keep it up. :good:
Very nice! Love the UI, looks very intuitive.
Some suggestions:
- use translucent bars on KitKat
- make the back animation consistent with the open animation. For example, when you tap a planet, the card zooms in to fill the screen; but when you hit Back, the screen kind of fades away (the default Android exit animation). It would be nice if it zooms back out.
- like @orville87 said, it would be easier on the eyes to express the units in scientific notation.
- Pluto isn't a planet anymore, right?
I would have asked for info on extraterrestrial moons, but it would seem too outrageous a request.
Subscribed, awaiting further updates

Not enough information. Can you tell me how is this app better than the others universe related apps in Google Play? I appreciate your effort but if you want your app to be competitive he should add more features or at least more info because the info included here is common and can be found in wikipedia for example. There are also apps who also provide 3D model of the solar system with the orbits of all planets.
I'm not trying to offend you, don't get me wrong.

For being a high school student and balancing life and school and this, I take pride in the work that I've done. Sure there are better apps than mine with more info and awesome 3D renderings of planets, I'm not afraid to admit that. However, I'm proud of the work I've done and if people don't recognize that it IS work from a high school student and not some average middle-aged developer, then so be it. Thanks for your feedback :good:

As I said in the beginning of my post I appreciate what you do because I love astronomy and physics so it's good beginning and I'm not hating. But yet you needed something to stimulate you to develop your app. I wish you all best and I'm sure that you'll keep developing this app until it becomes competitive to all the apps out there.

[app][4.4+][rpg-generators]Rpg Helper 3

*******EDIT********
not sure if anyone is still following this thread but this app is now on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.mrgreaper2004.rpghelper3
it is still free, and its still with out adverts
I am now going to remove the attachement as ofcourse it is better to use the play store version which is much more uptodate
note to mods: since the app is out on play store if you feel its better to delate this thread (I'm a bit worried its almost like spam to just link to my app like this) then I totally understand.
************************
Ok so this is my first post on this section and my first android app!
So what is "Rpg Helper 3" ?
Well its a character generator im working on for core D&D and similer games (the stats it rolls can be adapted to most rpg games) it contains a suite of generators that i have been working on for about 2 months, and will be expanding. The generators can be accessed seperatly as well.
Rpg helper 3 is your first one...ummm 3?
yep first android app, 1 and 2 were on the windows phone os, they are called "Rpg app (1st edition)" and "Rpg app (2nd edtion)" since im now an android owner i ported my app across, made the interface much sleeker (in my opinion) and progressed to add more content to it...this will be the app that gets future support and updates!
So if you need a quick npc, then this is for you, need to generate a quick tavern name and description, i got you covered, players asking what the bard is singing ...no problem, need a quick town description...yep. Player annoying you and you want a random fear to give him ...bingo
Want to export it as an html file ? yep
share the result via email? no problemo
(the very tired me recorded video of my app lol) - (fun drinking game, take a shot every time i say "umm" )
Known bugs:
The full sheet generator is generating more taverns and gangs then it should
When sharing via facebook it does not enter text in the post field (facebook dont allow it) but its copied to the clipboard for you so you can paste it in
lots of grammatical and spelling errors...i'll get to them
in plain text exporting of the full sheet some html code remains...yep working on it
What i ask of you :
feedback
do not decompile and use my methods!
do not share outside of XDA
When i get enough money to buy google play access (and the app is more mature) i plan on selling the app for about 50p on there (Prevously i tried the donation only approach and not a single user donated lol) but this version (possibly future versions versions too) will always be on here for free
This thread is a work in progress
UPDATE 21/06/2015
fixed surname bug
added dice roller function (its in its own separate page rather then in the generator)
24 downloads no replys,
Is there no market for this kind of app, or no interest in the app on this site?
is 4.4 too high as a start api for my app?
Were you one of the 24 downloaders? did you have issues installing? or running the app?
Works pretty good so far!

That is something i plan to add, though as a separate screen, the idea being you choose the dice to roll, the number of those dice and then outputted is each roll plus the total (the idea it would be useful for fireballs etc)
so yep that feature is coming, im just waiting for sufficent time to sit down and do some more coding (work is a nightmare at the minute).
With luck some others may also of tried it and dropped some feedback too by then
