is there a white aosp taskbar theme out there for a 1.5 rom based off of 1.5c or pancake?
i tried one but it causes a boot loop.

Dude seriously, no one in their right mind should be running 1.5 anymore. The simple answer will be no. There is and will never be a white taskbar with 1.5. Reason being, all the files are odexed.

i can give you several reasons why alot of people still run 1.5 roms. you would be surprised.

Until Toast releases his .29 kernel and Freshtoast gets bugs worked out I'm sticking with Overclocked Gumbo. It just freaking works. It's fast, stable and other than the market being ugly I don't see many dealbreaking differences.

2.1 is a beta and not final...1.5 is a final and rock solid. think about your statement.
personally im thinking bout going back to 1.5 myself.. 2.1 in all forms atm still has bugs..its kinda getting like flashing wm roms..lol since 2.1 is still beta that is.. with 1.5 everything works and its fast.. even co-pilot works..( still cant get it to work on 2.1 roms.) so really to me the only thing on 2.1 worth keeping is google nav. and the better market.. so fixxxer
get on the 1.5 rom.. make it no-sense oc'd and apps2sd and u will be my hero..lol

A2DP files were pulled from my Vanilla release and seem to work.
Wireless Today thingy installed but disabled.

Well, around 30mb free memory on fresh boot and stuff like that. Its a new build and its all good. LOL.

LOL. Ive got this rom so packed. Somethings had to be removed like the extra pictures, 2 of the standard rings and a few of the help file pics for the camera. LOL. I dont think it will fit in. Ill see what I can do though.

X-Button 1.5 causes issues as i have found out. So im gonna leave with this till the Today button thing has been fixed. As for VoiceCommand, I use it since im lazy and I cant figure out what else to put in it.

I dont understand? what do you mean wifi from battery status?
Battery status has tray icons for wifi, bluthooth, etc. If you click on the wifi icon it should toggel wifi on and off. This should work but does not until you click wifi using comm manager. Faira calls the pre loading wifi.

all i am waiting for is the wifi fix and i will flash this baby. honestly the fastest hero rom i have tried on my MT3G was CRISPhero, it was from addeway and another dev, they merged their roms into a megarom haha. hasnt been updated in a month though. same with SENSEhero, cept its been since NOVEMBER since that puppy has been updated, ccryowski has gone AWOL

I agree.
I think hero is awesome, but 1.5 is almost out dated and obsolete.
sure its cool looking and stable, but if We cant use current apps,
whats the point.

Regardless I believe 1.5 is much smoother than espresso and 2.1 Hero. Time being I use 1.5 roms because of the completeness and stability of them. This build uses backing swap..dont understand why but im changing it to make my own custom build

ctso came out with a working launcher2.apk yesterday. There's no 3D cube effect of course, but it's still smooth. I found it looking around the androidspin.com database

it works just like any regular apk. I just put it on my sd and installed it with astro

Works great in G1/KiNgxKxlicK AOSP 2.1 [v1.4], but it could be faster.

I don't think so, as the launcher 2 relies on the 2.1 api's and frameworks (eclair should I say)

And I was more or less saying, it MIGHT be able to be done, but you won't know until you try it. I'm sure it could not be done, but then again we thought we'd have to wait on HTC for camera drivers
But still no love for firmware 1.5. This is starting to get a little ridiculous.
this is great. I have been waiting for this. If you update to the 2.1 rom you can get it. It is running pretty stable for me right now.

Still no love for 1.5? From here on out there will be no more love for 1.5. Pretty soon it will be extinct, so there is no need to give it love. It sucks, but its just all the more reason to get pumped for 2.1

Yeah, I've tried it on the AOSP 2.1 load from darchstar and it doesn't load. Kind of weird though, it doesn't FC, just zooms out and then back to the home screen. Probably a GL issue with the version that is in that load. Anyone try it on flipz/toast's rom?

Eh yeah I tried and got the same issue I believe its because I still have the maps installed that is in my update.zip. idk if the aosp roms come with maps in them or not. Might wanna look into that

Not really an option if you care about using the camera, which I do.
remember all that spamming sprint and htc about the source code for the kernel, and how ultra unsupportive I was of the spamming etc?
well anyway... this right here is a legitimate time to spam sprint about wanting SOMETHING in their catalog that will run google earth. Verizon their main competitor in the cdma realm has a phone that will run it and sprint does not, threaten to cancel your account if something isn't done soon.
Let them know you want it. This will hurry up the process... spamming about not getting a source code for blah blah... they don't really know much about or care about isn't going to help.
But Google earth is a big deal. In their idiotic minds this would make sence and they will push it up the chain... I promise this one would work to get us 2.1 quicker.
Also: don't mention the navigation... sprint has their own remember? I'm sure they aren't too thrilled to have a free alternative out there that people will probally be useing but google earth is uniquely something that they don't replicate with any other service.

I'm not sure you can. I know some ROMS come with it but besides having lockbot I don't think you can do it without having 2.1.

I remember this coming up a few months ago, and I thought the 2.1 lockscreen on 1.5 was a no go...
What's the deal you drop 2.1 to get back to 1.5?
it's possible, but i doubt anyone is willing to backport the apk to 1.5 especially with 2.1 dropping within a few weeks. The nexus one news and weather widget was backported for example, but i dont think people are willing to put in all this effort with 2.1 around the corner.

stock android lockscreens are not apk.s they are in the codes you can run the stock donut lockscreen when on donut roms or enclair lockscreens when on enclair

and the reason i don't like lockme or lockbot is ...it's an app that doesn't fully let your phone sleep which drains the battery more.

mine slept fine with it installed but it laged to much for me to keep so i went back to custom locksceens from NOJ (for 1.5 roms)

kind of. for me it was too laggy for a replacement. i'd press menu and have to wait for lockbot to bring up the lockscreen. it was counterproductive for just a nicer looking screen.

exactly why i just uninstalled it after 48 hours of use...
also, its not treated like a regular lockscreen and my handscent messages were popping up over it even though i have the setting to only show after the lockscreen is removed which works perfectly again after uninstall... nice concept, but not refined enough for me...

+1 to everything above. Also it doesn't allow the adjustment of media volume when the screen is off.
