I'm trying to flash hardSLP, I get to the tricolored bootloader screen with USB at the bottom but when I unplug the USB and plug it back I can not get active sync to connect. Is their something I missing?
Thanks,
Matt
your system is probably installing the wrong USB driver for the new updated mode - you may need to force an install of the proper driver. in my case, running vista ultimate, the system will default to HTC USB driver instead of the microsoft USB interface driver.
Try to continue anyway with the flashing. I'm running XP and got the same thing as you, I rebooted my phone and did the procedure again, even tough I had no "green light", and it worked fine.
i upgraded to tomal's rom to give it a try, and it works great, problem is i can't remove the rom....mtty tool doesn't work cause everytime i connect to xp, vista don't matter about 10 cords it always say usb unrecongized and when i do the ruu...i get a error so i was going to try the mtty but i can't even connect the universal to the damn pc, in bootloader it goes from serial to usb when you connect that works, but u see it connect to the pc for like 2 secs then the usb unrecongizeable any help i'm tired of reading all these treads....thanks in advance
bty mtty tool only shows com1 and com2 no usb at all
I found out what it was, i had to go in to safe mode and when i plugged it back in i hurry up and stop the auto update, looked in device manager and there it was *** pocket usb sync **** before i couldn't see it now i followed the post on upgrading using vista no problems thanks!!

but when i'm updating, im getting this error in update: Problem with communication between Cell phone and PC
Anyone has any suggestions?
make sure you have usb debug mode enabled.
Reinstall drivers. Remove battery from phone then insert it and plug phone to computer with debug mode enabled. Wait for drivers installing.
Then try again update your phone.

I wish I had read this thread 2 days ago!
Hi all
I've had a soft bricked device now for 4 days I've read almost every post on the net to resolve this issue. So my Samsung S6 SM-G920F is stuck on the blue screen saying "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software." I can get into download mode 'recovery' however my phone will not connect to my computer via usb. With an error message stating "usb device not recognised. The last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it.
I have tried:
Changing cables
Changing computer
Deleting drives - rebooting comp to reinstall
Removing kies
Removing smart switch
Reinstalling smart switch
Reinstalling sub drivers
Editing power options and disabling USB ports
Entered HP BIOS and ran a port check which did however result in failure but then same situation on another HP laptop with working ports.
The device is charging when plugged in but not available to flash and reboot/bootloop.
If anyone has a resolution I will be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance
Need help. I was using Miracle Box to flash stock ROM, I don't know how but the phone (Micromax E453) is bricked now. I tried to start phone in Meta Mode (swiched off phone connected to PC by holding volume up button), it worked once, then following some tutorials I uninstalled (and checked, Delete the driver software for this device) MTK USB COM driver under port. Since then phone is not turning on and PC is not recognizing the device. Tired changing the USB cable and even tried it on another laptop, but no go. Kindly share what else I can try. PC has Windows 10 64 bit and MTK preloader vcom driver always has yellow exclamation mark (always installs with error code 10). I have disabled driver signature verificiation.

Did you have USB debugging enabled in the device's system settings before it got bricked? If not, you might not get it to connect via USB and be recognized.

Thank you for your response. Yes, USB debugging was enabled before it got bricked. I was able to successfully see my device when I ran adb -devices command. I was also able to run fastboot commands. Now its completely dead.
