help on themes??

Can somone tell me as far as themes and icons go... Do u just download the .cab file with all the icons and install it to your phone restart it and WALA new theme? Or what? Whats the proccess to go through?

most of them yes. some you have to add some files in \windows. but they all come with instructions

just can't change the icons in the start menu

I tried several different icon sets and the .cab file. but none of them can change my icons for the start menu.
Anyone know what is the problem?

does anyone know? it's really weird. I can see the icons under /windows folder, but I just can make it appear on the start menu. thanks

let me clarify... by start menu.. you mean the screen in windows and the quicklinks associated with it? or your slider?
IF its the windows side you can just use an icon changer and clear cache.. if you mean like your slider.. you need to edit manila or use a cab with a slider you like

if your still at it.. try this...

If you use JWMD IconChanger go to Menu, Tools, HTC Sense Tools, Clear Icon Cache.
Click Yes and Ok when completed.
Click Yes to reboot device.
Manual way using File Explorer - go to My Device\Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher and delete all files in the folder (*.bmg files). Reboot device. If you only changed a few Icons you can delete only those files, e.g. if you change the Audio Booster’s icon only delete “Audio Booster.bmg” file and reboot.
Both methods will update Windows and Sense Icons.
Works for me.

how to edit launcher for custom icons???

hi i m new to this editing themes so plz anybody can guide me to edit
touchwiz launcher for custom Message,Contact, Phone icon..
tried to use singApk, Apktool to edit no luck
launcher has icons in drawable-hdpiv4 folder in res folder i put custom those icons naming ic_launcher_phone.png singed with singApk also Apktool both are giving 'appliction not installed' error.
anybody can help me plzz.....

press long on the icon and then choose custom icon and search for your icone that you need

icon can be changed using desktop visualizer app but
that icon cant be placed on Dock Bar
need to know how to edit launcher so that i can place custom icons which are not there????

I have been trying to get apk icons on Windows 64-bit and have installed SDK Manager. What else do I need to install to show the proper icon for each apk?

You could make a shortcut and apply an icon change to that.

How do I change the STATUS BAR background?

does anyone knwo how to change the STATUS BAR background?.. i have tried to change the SystemUI.apk and framwork_res.apk, but it stucked when i replace them to system/apps..it shows me a message again and again "systemUI.apk file has stopped working". if anyone know how to do that correctly plese help me... thank you..
