Hi guys, is there an application that disables the keys whilst the phone is in the pocket? I noticed that huge battery drain is being caused by the phone turning on whilst in the pocket.
Any help would be appreciated

Try Pocketshield i am using it for my HD2
Also they have a smaller and simpler version for HD2 and other devices with the proximity sensor.
Ok I'll give it a try, thanks

I had a little water ingress recently and my TP started vibrating and rebooting. I managed to dry it out and get it charged and it seems to work okay. Only problem is the rear light is on permanently. This will drain the battery in no time.
Any ideas how I can turn it off ?
Thanks in advance,
DBo.
Please help...
No one ?
I noticed that the light is coming on as soon as the battery is put into the handset. It doesn't even need to be switched on!
Thanks, DBo.

Its definitely shorted. Does going into Camera and trying ot turn it off work?
Have you tried an aftermarket "flashlight" program to mess with the settings?
Thanks
Thanks.
Yes, I've tried turning it on and off in Camera mode. No joy.
I may have to try and find an after market flash control. Any pointers ?
Cheers, DBo.
No luck so far...
Ozzy's Actions screen (whilst an excellent piece of software in itself) didn't solve my problem.
Sorted itself
Very strange, but I took my handset abroad with me and at some point it must have completely dried out as it is now working properly again and the battery life is back to normal (i.e. poor but not abysmal).
Cheers, DBo.
I haven't been able to find this problem documented anywhere so I thought I'd ask.
It seems that my Nexus 5 has suddenly began turning on when being held at a certain angle. I believe that the proximity sensor has something to do with it. It started to happen after I was on the phone for a couple of hours. I've tried restarting, and switching from Art to Dalvik.
Is anyone else familiar with this problem or a solution? It's driving me nuts!
Thanks

Are you using a case? it might be pressing the power button.
I have using a case, but there is an oversized cutout around the power button. I am almost certain that this is related to a bug with the proximity sensor.
Mine, when using stock kernel would sometimes turn on by itself after pulling it from my shirt pocket..
Hasn't happened since I stopped using stock kernel.
Doesn't seem too common another poster, think whozilla saw this behavior as well.
No biggie.just odd.

does it turn ON after you power the phone OFF
or you mean that it wakes up from sleep state randomly?

No, it won't turn on if the phone if OFF. I'm referring to it "waking up". It will wake up simply by holding the phone at a certain angle and distance away from the body.

Are you using a custom Rom/kernel? if so, try installing a new Rom
If that happens to be a hardware problem, It could be more related to the power button than the P.sensor
Most common issues related to the sensor is that screen stays off. Eventually, a screen protector can produce that, but not in your case.
The proximity sensor won't notice the angle you tilt the phone at (compass sensor does). It needs to detect something in front of it closer than +-1 inch to act up and should
turn off the screen when in a phone call. There's no much reason to turn on screen because it is not its function and much less if not phone call is happening.
Maybe the USB port is dirty and thinks you plugged a charger
or power ribbon/connector is loose inside, if any.
Anyone else having issue with this feature. I noticed my phone would wake up randomly in my pocket with this feature on.
I'm not sure exactly how it's even waking up as you still need to slide the bar across to unlock it. After i turned the feature off my phone wouldn't unlock itself anymore.

You would need to see if this ever happens outside your pocket, without anyone touching it. If it doesn't, perhaps you can try touching the phone through the outside of your pocket; perhaps you're doing that without noticing it.
So after two charging cycles with it off I don't see any major difference. Its just like the LG G2 for me, very minimal impact on battery life.

They should have used the proximity sensor to detect if it was in your pocket. Even manually covering the sensors up still allows the phone to be woke up.
Yeah, I had this issue too. Very annoying so so had to disable the feature. It's a shame because I liked unlocking it by tapping. Maybe they can fix it to not unlock if the proximity sensor is covered with a feature software update?

That's probably what they *should* do. I never/don't have a problem with it on my M8.
I doubt it'd use much battery life to check if it's up against something before turning the screen on.
I have same problem with waking up in pocket. And since lollipop update the new slide up to unlock has caused issues with phone activating the flashlight and messing with wifi bluetooth nfc and other quick settings. Sad I have to disable as I love this feature.
Glad I installed gravity box and had proximity sensor option for that

Hi guys,
My nexus 5 has been exhibiting a weird behavior recently.
So basically whenever I am working normally browsing app or replying to a text, If I lay pressure on a certain area on the screen the phone locks and unlocks itself with the screen turning on and off.
I was able to record a quick video of this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgyo8rfFaao
As you can see I have done a factory reset and also checked the sticky power button as a lot of users have been reporting.
Its a good phone and I would hate to see it go. Any help is really appreciated
Bump. Anyone?

Having watched the video and noticing that you've removed the battery cover I assume this issue arose after some work. I'd recommend double checking all the connections. I had several issues from ear speaker to display flicker after replacing the digitizer and usb flex charging cable. It all came down to me not being quite as careful as I'd thought I was. I basically took everything out and redid it. Backtrack so to speak.
HI
I'm having an issue, where the touch function of the screen sometimes becomes non responsive, and reboot by holding both sidekeys is the only solution. Swithing between tiles by rotating the bezel works, only the touch function is "gone". Resetting the watch doesn't fix it.
I'm running the latest software version (R895FXXU1FVD4), my strap is as tight as can be and I clean the back of the watch every day. I'm running with screen sensitivity set On, as I have a Panzerglass on the screen.
I'm kind of hoping, that I'm not the only one, having this issue, and that someone has a valid solution.
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your input.
I've been using PanzerGlass since Day 1. This is a recent problem. I was hoping it was a software related one, but I'm not so sure anymore. 🥹

do you have moisture under the glass maybe ?
No. Everything looks and feels perfect.
On my watch4classic 46mm
I have the exact same issue from previous firmware update and to get it to responding I have to let watch go to aod mode and then wake watch again
The updates of this new wear os 3 are really messed up and have ruined experience of this watch
Latest software upgrade seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks for your replies and suggestions.
