Compatible with Desire battery? - Nexus One Accessories

Anyone know if the Nexus One battery is compatible with the HTC Desire battery? They certainly look identical from the photos I've seen, and of course the underlying hardware is the same, so I'd be surprised if HTC made a different battery for each.

HTC Phones and Battery Technology

Just to bring up the massive problem with batteries not being up to the pace which phones are moving at, I found two articles which you all may find interesting. I notice that some of the bigger HTC phones have drain something shocking like the LEO, HD7, Desire HD etc. Maybe these articles might interest you, maybe not, your choice.
NOTE: The phones mentioned above are just three of the phones I know have battery consumption issues with the basic STOCK ROM's with no tweaks made in any shape or form (in relative terms).

desire s = mini desire hd = a good idea?

Am I the only one who thinks that the desire is more closely related to the dhd than to the original desire?
Same type of body, same cpu and gpu, same form factor (no physical buttons...), same amount of ram.
Actually I think that it has been a good idea of HTC to introduce this kind of device: many people are just scared of the big screen and similar size of devices such as the dhd, and the major flaw of the dhd, its mediocre battery life, has been improved by using a higher capacity battery. For people like myself - I'm using a topaz at the moment - it's actually a wonderful replacement.
I do agree that it's not the ultimate mobile experience that everyone has been waiting for, but on the other hand: I don't think any company will be able to produce a phone that will be 'the best' for more than 3 months: they are already talking about quad-core cpus that will be 5 times as fast as the previous generation. So why should HTC try to do that with évery phone they produce?
If I see people are talking about 'never buying an HTC for the rest of my life' or shouting things like 'RIP HTC' then I think that they should take all this into consideration. I'm pretty sure that HTC will produce another 'flagship' in the near future that will be able to keep up with the best of the other brands.
This is just my modest opinion of course...
Htc is going to be like sh...y Nokia. The same phones in other boxes.
DesireHD, Incredible S, Desires ... all the same with minor differences.
And what to choose? Will there be one or two a flagship model, that I would really like to have ?
Obviously almost everyone is disappointed with the HTC's new range of devices, Maybe they thought Adreno 205 will suffice the lack of dual core CPU for gaming? Or they are just holding them back until there is enough demand for such devices? Just wait and see.
BTW HTC were never the best at hardware department, and they may still believe their Sense will actually "sell" these sub-par devices !
Id like toadd here, nokias r **** besides the 3310 of course

Since I don't have an Android phone yet, I'm really pleased that HTC are at least doing little updates to their products just before I'm in a position to buy one.
But if I already had a Desire, I'd be fairly non-plussed. The Desire S is little more than a change of packaging, like when Sony Ericsson replaced the K800 with the K810.
The Incredible S might make a nice upgrade from a Desire, but it's still not a huge step up.
Your right there not even an amoled screen

This. Different strokes for different folks. In the real world, longer battery life is always good.

[Q] Desire HD vs Sensation? worth uppgrading?

Im a DHD owner and are unsure if ishould uppdate.
Have major problems with My dhd
Bad with MY dhd
Bad call reception
BLUETOOTH CALL PROBLEMS
pure battery
Pure wifi reception
We own4 dhd in the family and mine is theonly one with problems. Tierd of leaving it for ser vice after 3 times, everytime 2-3 weaks!
So sensation owners what do u think?
Edit.excuse my speeling. Writing on a transformer pad screen.
I am desire Hd owner and I will be upgrading to the sensation once it gets unlocked.
As long as you can get a fair price for your desire HD, i say upgrade it
I just traded my Desire HD and Dell Streak for the Sensation I hated the power button my Desire HD. Not sure if it was just mine (I did have the digitizer replaced) or it was like that by design, but the power button on the Sensation is loads better
I say do it. The Sensation is the successor to the Desire HD. So many things that are better about it!
I hate that power button also
I always found my DHD to be a bit creaky in the hand, especially the sim cover. The Sensation does feel solid, quality.
I listen to music a lot over bluetooth, I like the fact that the quality is so much better than DHD, with SRS/equaliser also available over A2DP.
Camera also seems much sharper.
Battery not sure about yet, looks encouraging though.
Yes
Sell your DHD. The Sensation is a magnificent peace of hardware a lot better , faster , thinner .Battery life is a big improvement after a week I would say between 50 and 75% percent impovement.
Is there is a trowback it's the sense 3.0 a lot of eyecatching nonsense ; not so usefull but still memory eating. The Unlock screen at the other hand is very well done.
So yes .
I'm on my second Sensation... First developed a screen response issue, followed quickly by random resets... The replacement is fantastic, just as the first was supposed to be.
I highly rate this phone, everything from the screen to the battery (I managed 11h 30m from a 80% charge, and still had 30% left. Not mad usage, few calls, sms, games).
I wasn't so happy with the build quality on the DHD. Power button and volume buttons seemed to be mis-aligned, and the sim and memory card cover was ill-fitting...
The new design cover may be harder to get off, but it's miles better...
I would say, the Sensation is a great bit of hardware. But Sense 3.0 is a total donkey, whizzing out of control for no reason, convoluted contacts system.
Just a total pain in the arse, I upgraded from a standard Desire. I wanted to be able to test games I'm developing on qHD. I never felt like I needed an upgrade really. Strangely, what I missed most is the track-pad, and the comparatively snappy response of Sense 2.0.
Hope this help
D.
My 2 cents...
NO dont upgrade.
I have had no issues with my Desire HD running Sense 3.0 and OC to 1.8ghz, so...
The Sensation is Hardware wise Desire HD x 2.
Sure its an upgrade... but an upgrade that is worth it compared to other competition. I'd say no.
The Screen is crappier then the 1 on my inspire (SLCD vs SLCD) and hardware is basicly identical other then dual core + gpu.
Also Sensation has worse Build quality then desire hd.

I think i'm going to sell my brand new Sensation on the bay. Is has no major value and also has no big changes. I though it was faster than my DHD with Android Revolution, but it was not. Yes it has a great battery life, but not a very big changes with my old DHD. It has a very good resolution but it's not what I was looking for. My DHD is not crappy, nothing to say. If you scroll the menu fast I see some freeze. Yeah, I'm wondering the reason why I bought it. Beeing a dual core is not so faster than, oh yes, than the iPhone.
When I changed my Desire for the Desire HD I noticed an incredible change... not now.
I suggest you you wait something different...Sorry.

How is the build quality worse? I've found it so much better. My Desire HD's battery cover used to creak all the time, and there was a significant gap between the battery cover and the aluminium back.

I have an Inspire 4 so..
No Creaking on my hardware. Nor any gap. I'd recemend calling HTC to send out free replacements.
When I say better build Quality I mean the Desire HD is ONE piece, whilst the Sensation is not. And from Initial reports Sensation has Reception + screen issues.
Why would I upgrade to a phone which has a screeen which is Inferior to my current?
HTC REALLY needs to step up...
My Guess for Sensation 2 is... Super SLCD Screen (equal to Inspire 4g's) with 1 GB of Ram + more ram + HTC sense 3.5....

The Inspire has a much lower resolution of 800x480, as does the Desire HD. That display would be a downgrade from the Sensations screen. I really don't want another 800x480 display, part of the reason I didn't keep the Galaxy S2.
True. The battery cover can be flimsy. In that sense the untidy back cover its more solid. Plus the dual core beast and qhd slcd is better

You guys are scaring me away from getting it. Yet I'm still getting it. still waiting otterbox to release defender but wonder how are they going to make it as the curved screen.

Lol let me rephrase. The battery cover on the dhd can be flimsy
On the sensation it should be more solid.

If you really not sure you can always wait and see if theres gonna be a GSM version of the EVO 3D
The problem with sensation is that it is based on the same proccessor
that Desire HD has, only that this time is DualCore paired with a better
GPU.
This means that the cpu sensation has is still an CortexA8 CPU and not
a CortexA9 like exynos2.
So in my opinion don't upgrate cause you will essentially buy an old
hardware just doubled up.
The DHD is still a wonderfull and fast device, i believe is better to wait
for HTC το release a new hardware revision.
It's the same situation that happened one year ago.
HTC released HTC Desire which was based on HTC HD 2 hardware
and some months later released Desire S and Desire HD with a far superior
hardware leaving Desire buyers in the cold.
Well i dissagre in some parts
I bought a new Sensation.. And there is a Big diffrence for me, and its Worth it
Sensation
Faster
Better battry (A bit early to say but but)
Screen have Much better colors
Smother screen
Sense 3,0 is Awsome
Only bad vs DHD is that it have a Smaller Screen! it says 4.3 for both but the DHD is larger! and i like the large Screen size, but not the fat bak side

DHD screen is not bigger (ok, someone proved it is by 1mm or smthng) bit WIDER in portrait mode. That's why sensation feels smaller and this is the only reason i got myself 4.3 phone. DHD, SGS2 and likes are just too wide for me.

[Q] HTC EVO 3D or HTC Sensation XE ???

Im thinking of getting a htc evo 3d but now that i know that the sensation xe will be coming out in a few days should i get that instead. What one will hold its value better than the other?
In my opinion dude,
Grab the regular sensation. Asthetically, yes the differences will be noticeable between the sensation, vs the sensation xe. (different battery door, red accents, 1.5ghz and over hyped headphones), you can achieve all of the same with the current sensation.
The evo 3D is obviously VISUALLY better with its included 3d. screen types are the same. This will make it easier for you to compares apples to oranges.

I fully agree with you there cause the XE all your paying for is a different battery door and Beats by Dre thats all... The software that is coming with it we already have... There are custom roms that are stock at 1.5ghz... The other thing is a little bit bigger battery... Well you have two options you can buy a evo 3d stock battery and use it the Sensation or you can get an after market one (anker, mugen, or there are others) So get the regular Sensation... about 30 more for some half way decent heaphones... about 15 for an anker 1900mah battery and thats still way cheaper then the XE and whats the point of that battery door anyways its always gonna be in a case... Most people dont even rock clear cases and if you did its just to show off lol

Using HTC Titan Battery for HD7 ?

Hi
Just wanted to know if the Htc Titan battery would work on out hd7 as the Titan is touted as the Hd7 replacement and it has a bigger battery 1600 mAH.
I have bought an extended battery with cover but dont like it as it makes the phone bulky and ugly so was looking towards the Titan battery.
Any comments are welcome as I haven't seen the Titan's battery physically to see if it is the same size as the HD7's battery.
Also was wondering about the volts and stuff.
Any one techie enough to comment if it might just work for us?
