Using HTC Titan Battery for HD7 ? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Just wanted to know if the Htc Titan battery would work on out hd7 as the Titan is touted as the Hd7 replacement and it has a bigger battery 1600 mAH.
I have bought an extended battery with cover but dont like it as it makes the phone bulky and ugly so was looking towards the Titan battery.
Any comments are welcome as I haven't seen the Titan's battery physically to see if it is the same size as the HD7's battery.
Also was wondering about the volts and stuff.
Any one techie enough to comment if it might just work for us?

High Capacity Battery

Has anyone tried the high capacity battery (1340 mAh?) How much thicker and heavier the HTC gets? And how much longer will it breath? Thanks

No, but I just want to say that I've bought a normal spare battery and I feel much better about the phone now. It essentially doubled my battery life. So now I basically have a 1800 mah battey with no added thickness. The only downside is that I have to keep a tiny spare battery in my briefcase or bag. Much recommended...

Which htc should i buy?

I guys i want you guys to give me a opinion on what to buy. I had the htc tytn 1 and ll but they were to big. Then i tried something smaller, the htc touch dual but was just slow and performance wasn't what i expect it. From that i went to htc touch diamond, it was beautifull, small everything i could ask for but first day i used batterie was so poor. In a half day my batterie is always dead i ended up selling it. I have a nokia but i miss my windows mobile. What should i buy ? Htc diamond was almost perfect but battery was very bad. I use my phone alot and battery as to last at least a day. Plz guys give me your opinion. Thanks
try the motorola q 9c it has really good battery life and it is small. no touch screen though
It has to have touch screen other wise it wont feel like a full windows mobile. Someone told me there a extended batterie for diamond. They say phone will look bigger and all that. Have anyone try that and does the extended batterie really makes a difference?
Just to warn you, I hear that you can't use the Diamond's GPS if you're also using the extended battery.
I heard the Touch HD's battery life is excellent.
But the dimension of htc touch hd is bit big like tytn isn't it? Wat about the new htc touch 3g? And can someone confirm that extended batterie will make the gps stop working? If it does why does that happen ? :-(

why does it make the gps not work?
I read after doing a search that some batteries do that, maybe cause bad quality. But some extended batteries dont affect anything on the phone. What u guys say about htc touch 3g?
Touch HD is About 1/2 thinner than the Tytn...
Touch Cruise 2009 maybe?
gr. Rob
I think the hd is about same dimension and weight as the omnia and that's to big and heavy for me. That's why i say htc diamond was almost perfect. I dont like something to big and heavy.

Thank you for the info. I think diamond is gonna be phone that suites me the most with a extended battery. I know other htc are brilliant machines like the hd but is just to big for me. The htc touch pro is it about the same size as htc diamond with extended battery? And how battery on htc touch pro? I would of like aswell some info on touch 3g but i guess ain't so popular yet..

Mugen Battery

Hi All,
I emailed Mugen to find out when they will bring out battery for the Desire HD.
They replied saying November, the model no. is HLI-DESIREZSL/XL
They did not state capacity though......
Good News!
Did they state costs?

Good news, i might consider the larger battery
Wow XL battery, nice dreams to hope :/
I'm planning to get the DHD myself soon... never heard of "mugen" before... they reliable/stable/good quality???
is this the official site? I'm seeing several mugen power results on google
www .mugen-power-batteries.com/
Bigger battery, yes please.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Yes @ last confirmed i will get the dhd for sure!! The legend got a bump from 1300mah to 1800mah i hope we get at least a 1500mah for dhd it would be perfect!
But most people were saying 3rd party high capacity batteries in fact does not do what they claim.
Do you think If they did why did not normal Desire users prefer this battery instead of original ones?

The answer is easy:
It looks like **** and is soo much bigger!
Dont you think so as well?
Bigger battery is like useing a daiper: You dont have to visit the WC as often, but instead you have to carry the **** around....
lol ethania, you are killing me.
Yes lol that's why they don't want that battery, the dhd won't have that problem, I know from my previous phone (htc legend) that the mugen battery did give me a boost of around 30 to 40% that's enough for me frankly, you can use your phone without closing apps or connections you need and get through the day nuff said..
How will this work with the DHD's unibody shell? You can't carve out extra room (assuming that the battery will be of a bigger physical dimension).

yeah,
an increased mah doesnt mean increased size, they can use better battery technology or increase cell density

They say the legend got about an increase of 30-40% battery life.. If this could be achieved for the DHD too that would be really nice

That was the source of my question. I'm not so into the tech of battery technology. Thanks for clearing it up.

if Mugen comes out with a higher capacity battery that fits inside the Desire HD, it would be fr......! great!!.
But have they ever made a battery like that? All the Mugen batteries i have seen ad massive bulk to the phone/ipaQ ect. could be just the ones i have seen i dont know much about it. Could anyone give reference to a higher capacity mugen battery with the same size as an original?

[Q] extended batteries

Has anyone here tried an extended battery made for the Dell Venue Po?
For example, there's a 2600mAh battery that comes with a replacement cover because the battery is so large. ... It looks nice. I find myself always conscious that I'm churning through battery life just with normal usage.
Related to that, I have noticed my DVP getting pretty warm. Wondered if anyone knows of any tricks to colling the phone, or any gadgets that have been made for that purpose.
Thanks.
Nobody? I'd think that many of the new smart phones would be energy hogs and this would be appealing.
The only replacement batteries I've seen available for the Dell Venue Pro are standard replacement batteries, although an extended capacity batter sounds like a nice idea.
I've also noticed my device heating up during data-intensive tasks, but usually the heat is coming from the panel that is below the battery bay, so it might be something related to the processor/memory strain.
Sent from my Venue Pro using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Personally I've been looking for a stock-sized extended battery. The ones on eBay with the extended cover make the phone too thick IMO and ruin the look of it as well.
That said, the kickstand would be handy for Netflix.

Generally I find the stock battery to be far more than sufficient, but when I'm in bad/no reception areas, I find the battery drains super fast.

Didn't like the extended battery
Dvp is quite heavy,, how much more would it get heavier with the extended battery,,, I wonder
Battery replacement
Hey guyz Wake up !!
I cant post the link because I don't post a lot around...
but go to Mugen Power Website and look for Dell venue
(Venue and Venue Pro use the same batteries)
Mugen power is pretty much the only one brand for battery replacement with quality inside.
Venue and Venue Pro have same battery but different backcovers. So XL Mugen batteryes don't usable. Standart size mugen battery is not a pretty much better compared to stock...
You might be able to use the Mugen XL with one of the battery covers from one of the cheap eBay extended batteries.
But personally I'd take the stock sized Mugen battery. I like the stock size of the DVP.

I got a new ext battery with cover afew days ago. The dvp is tad bit heavy so
the battery is not a big deal and the new cover is better now you have a finger grip. The dvp does not recognize the new battery at all. I did call seller, waste of time, did call Dell waste of time both have no clue as to how to get phone to recognize new battery. It is a 2600. So I have a few weeks before return to see
if by magic it all works out. Any input? Thanks

Yeah it looks like with the extended batteries, you need to take out and place back the battery after it charges to 1500mah to get it to go past the OEM battery capacity... sounds like the extended battery doesn't have the proper firmware to indicate its full/actual capacity. Bummer... especially since they're not cheap!

Woow, a smartphone.. since it's so smart it doesn't want to have the 'extra' power.. i've been looking for an extended batery for my DVP too, i think it's so much trouble to charge the phone every 4~6 hour or so..

[Q] Extended battery live 2450mha

Anyone tried this one:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/2450mAh-HIGH...663?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item53e9602c2f
sounds promissing...
100% fake.
Sent by Skeletor from Castle of Greyskull using XDA Premium App
I've got one of these. However they are fake? The battery life from what I've seen is not too much more than the normal battery. I've got another which came with my dock and I don't see much difference between that which is 1600 and the "2400". Also I may not be the best person to comment on it as I change my rom so much I use a lot of power in different roms which use more or less power.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
It's not fake!
I have this battery about a month now and it's really great ok it's not sooo big but it lasts at least 2 days of full use,so obviously it's not fake it's really great and i think it worth to spend 10 bucks for it...
Please guys, be realistic.
How the hell should some unknown manufacturer put 2450 mAh of power in the same technology (Li-Ion) in the same size and shape in a battery with the same safety standards?
Based on basic chemistry knowledge that is pure bull****.
Even Mugen had problems pressing 1500 mAh in the same size and I'm sure they had to make the walls a little thinner (what is pretty risky) for that amount of energy-rich mass.
That is absolutely impossible and it is naive to think it is real.
It may be a halfway good replacement for the stock battery but it does never reach 2450 mAh. Never.
All of you guys who think the battery life is longer than stock may think as a placebo effect. As Dr. Lele said it's impossible to pack so much in so little size as of today's technology.
lol, the only battery that has better performance than the OEM one, is Mugen's.
They managed to squeeze 1500mAh into the battery.
I am planning to commercialise a 3000mAh Gold (etc) battery on ebay, with secret Chinese circuitry, for just €6 (no, not really)
what i've learnt about replacement batteries -> if it looks too good to be true, it DEFINITELY isn't true.

Very true. I think a lot of it is the placebo effect... I tend to on a morning go and get that "2450mah" battery instead of the stock HTC ones. Most the time I cycle through the batteries but if I have to choose, I choose that just because it may get a little bit better battery life.... But I'm also worried it's cheaply made and might leak or something inside the phone..
Fake

To the vendor, If you are going to try to sell crap like this, at least make the claims more believable.
lol
It's hard to believe, that some unknown facturer could produce such a battery :l
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND; look at his feedback :/
not that bad...
I have tried it have it and not using it because is piece of crap. It was good on the beginning and than it stopped holding the charge... very short life time....crap

over 2000mAh for less than 10 bucks? suuuuure....
oh wait...it's got a gold label! must be legit!!
Ive got a 1900mAh battery which is a good chunk bigger than the stock 1230mAh battery from htc and i won't ever believe that someone can produce such a "golden" battery out of thin air....
Unfortunately these batteries are likely going to only have 2 of the 3:
1. Upgraded capacity
2. Safety
3. Longevity
The only other option is a 3.8v chemistry battery, which is being used by Motorola, but it will likely not be fully charged by the phone.
Anyway, the stock battery gives 4.55 Whrs, a 3.8v version would give 4.67 Whrs. Which is to say, you're basically getting nothing extra.
Meh no trust gold battery...

No, the answer is that it is physically impossible to produce such a battery. Please try again.
