Does anything like the opposite exist?
Im always a fan of bg4all, but for some tabs, id love to have a overlay bg (like seen when switching tabs) ontop of the set bg, in settings tab for example, i had to search quite a bit to find a background that has the text readable on all tabs.
Id also love to have background 'pages' behind text messages, like it does for emails

It's not possible. The png file that Sense uses as the shadow on tab previews is only 2x2 px so you can only have a transparent or opaque shadow in any color, but if you resize the image it's gonna cover the big tab icons with white boxes and there will be no shadow (I know, 'cause I tried).
The Start menu shadow is the same for all folders inside the Start Menu including Settings, so you can't have a different background everywhere. She shadow effect is actually made by two semi-transparent png files which overlap you Today background. They are both 800x480 and 480x800 px (for WVGA of course) so you can replace them with any image you like (transparent or opaque), just remember it's gonna cover your today wallpaper. So if'll put an opaque image you would pretty much do the same thing as changing the wallpaper is Today's Settings. But it makes sense to use semi-transparent images.
If you'd like to edit the slider shadow use WinCE Cab Manager to extract the files from transparent tab transitions.cab and use m9editor to convert the manila file to png. Then use Photoshop or any other transparency-supporting graphic software (not MS Paint obviously ). When your done convert the png file to manila format again using m9editor and copy the file to your device \Windows using Resco File Explorer or Total Commander. Overwrite the original.
Editing the Start Menu shadow is easier. Use WinCE Cab Manager to extract the png files from transparent start menu background.cab and edit them in Photoshop (or any other(...)). Then copy the files to \Windows (again, overwrite the originals).
Hope this will help some n00by designer.

well, if your phone has wm2002 or 2003/se smartphone on it. Yes. All you need is the program 1-HomeEdit. (http://www.omegaone.com/homeedit/default.htm) Just saw, this also works with newer phones.
It's possible. I have white bars on my Samsung i640 and Treo 500v (both WM6)
I can later upload vodafone theme xml. I can't manage how to make colorscheme from this xml. I'm sure someone will work it out. It shouldn't be hard.
White scheme should look awesome whith Samsung Tab homescreen.
sound interesting
if you could post the home.xml i try to get the color scheme...
tyia
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3360432&postcount=86
you need to edit registry.
As I said, here's the xml Strik3r, could you say something more?
ty arrravel, i get the scheme from your xml, but it doesn't work without several reg hackings: i get the selection red and other stuff is right but the bars are still black.
ty striker, i tried your white cab, but it changed only the bronzeres.dlll and some calling pictures, the bars are still black, but the panel now are really cool ty!
striker, could you (please) list the reg edits to get your white skin working on all devices? (actually i am running a both qvga display with custom 6.1 and not a qqvga, but it is not a problem i suppose)
It doesn't work for me either. I get grey bars with white font on the bottom bar, and grey font on upper. Maybe they should be black, but i640 and Treo 500 have something I call "Asus skin". Look at the pictures of Asus PDAs with WM6 and you'll see the bars are somehow skinned. They are brighter and have sharp line in the middle. I don't know how to describe it. My english is not that good. I whish i could get rid of this.
I thought the scheme would work. It works as a part of homescreen, so why not separetely? Can't get it :/
i think that the scheme works throught registryeditings (the ones mentioned by stiker)
the effect that you call asus effect is the normal wm6 glossy bars?
I don't know what registry hacks he mentioned. I see only screenshots.
Back to the Asus effect, yeah, they are glossy, but look different. For example look at this:
http://www.palmtops.com.pl/images/palmtops/Asus%20PDA%20Phone%20P320_LRG.jpg
and this:
http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/2601/02hz9.bmp
See the difference? This is the same color scheme.
arravel, the sample of white theme:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Home\SlidingPanel white.home.xml]
"COLOR_TITLEFLATDONEBTN"=dword:ffffffff
"COLOR_TITLEFLATCENTER"=dword:ffffffff
"COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT"=dword:ffffffff
"COLOR_TRAYGRADRIGHT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_TRAYTEXT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_SCROLLBAR"=dword:fffbe14f
"COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNTEXT_HIGHLIGHT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNTEXT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_TITLEFLATCENTERBTNTEXT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_SOFTKEYFLATCENTER"=dword:ffffffff
"COLOR_SOFTKEYFLATBORDER"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHTTEXT"=dword:00ffffff
"COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT"=dword:00ffffff
"COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNFACE"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_ALERTRULE"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_HIGHLIGHT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHT"=dword:00000000
"COLOR_HOMERULE"=dword:00000000
there white.home.xml - name of your theme
I've tried to use this settings, but my xml is not visible on the list. I'm not familiar with xml files. And this reg entry won't work. I have WM 6.0. There is no upgrade to 6.1 for my device. I want to make a color scheme I can use with every homescreen layout, especialy with Samsung Tab. Would you make it? I'm sure many users will be greatful.
arravel, there did you put theese values?? In xml???? You need to put it to registry!!!
Hey,
I can't find the beautiful icons build in the newest manila (2.6)
Can somebody please make a cab for it
this would be really great
Here they are:
http://rapidshare.com/files/271049487/Hero_wallp_icons.rar
(the file for the icons is "Android-Sense UI Icons")
Thanks, all cabs are working, except the all tabs cab. I am using tess 2.2 Rom.
I have provided and I like them.
Thanks passo
Thank you, perfect
Are these cabs ready to remove via wm? Because I just want to test and if I don't like them, I could uninstall?
yes, you can uninstall them.

this is my homescreen (love it)
but is there any way to customise those "call" and "write message" icons as well? That would be great!
For those of us still on Manila 2.0, the icons work very well (thank you for the download link above), but the other bits included - the Hero wallpaper and white clock etc - don't work so well.
I want tray thi icos, but the restore of default icons?
It' possible?
to zimmicz: you can change it with m9editor an some graphic editor for editing icons. all icons are in files number_manila e.g. 08fc3b25_manila is phone call icon and 093284a8_manila is send message icon and there are two ways
1- copy changed file into windows folder
2- make a cab and install it

Strange, I used "load from png" option, it is set to the icon i want in m9 editor, but when used on my phone, the field stays white :-/
update: it was due to different resolution, it is ok now
To make your own manilas use Manila Editor: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414861
Simply open manila, replace picture and save manila.
Transfer new manila to Device\Windows with TF3D turned of.
To be on the save side backup the manila you replace first.

Or if you make your own cab, don't need to save original files. Everything comes back after uninstallation.
Can someone upload .cab file, much easier for all.
someone upload the file on other site like www.mediafire.com
cant download from rapidshare
Nice icons
Thanks for the icon and clock CABs. They work fine on my stock ROM.
For TF3D background I used a custom cab created using HDWalls 0.25.
I also seem to notice a minor improvement in TF3d response compared to using the standard icons.
it is possible to make a cab for this beautiful theme for touchflo 2.1 on the diamond 1?
Hi,
I've been searching through the forum for a second day and I'm not able to find any CAB adding Call History button to Sense 2.5 homescreen without adding bg4all tabs.
I have a white background at the home tab, it looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I want to have a Call History button on the homescreen but for now it means white background for all tabs which, of course, means illegible text messages or tweets as their font color is white.
Possible solution (which I didn't find as well) would be a black font color but I don't prefer this because white background on all tabs causes not only illegible text but it doesn't look good on other tabs either, e. g.:
So, can anyone help me please?

You mean Call History..? I tried Co0kie's mod, but it was slowing manila down so I assumed that Max manila would be slower as well...

Yes sorry, call history and calendar.
I have no issues with it slowing manila down.
OK, thanks, I'll give it a try. But if anyone has another solution...
Well, I'm not very satisfied with Max Manila... There really isn't any way, how to get call history to the homescreen without background for all tabs?
if u want to add call history tap to manila then go here "NO BG4all"
it will also add alot of taps but u can remove them and it does not slow ur device even if u used them all

Ever since I found Laskar V2 transparent theme, I haven't used any other. Finally I decided to modify the CHT (and some apps) icons to match my favorite theme.

It doesn't show very well with my wallpaper and in low res but the icons are transparent in the background, and semi-transparent in the black borders. I snatched the design from CHT borders and icons, and used some Metro5 white icons.
I'll post both the icons I made, as well as the templates so you can modify and apply to your own icons, or to the CHT icons I didn't get to make because I don't use.
DOWNLOAD MY ICONS v1.1
PNG Icons inside the Windows folder need to be moved to the Windows folder (over-writes original CHT icons). The rest needs to be set with a program like CSMI.
CHT_no_icon.png is the empty icon. Both xcf files in the Windows folder are the templates for GIMP2 of the CHT icons, I seem to have misplaced the xcf (read as, forgot to save the file) for the app icons templates... Oh well. Just use the CHT_no_icon.png
Links for stuff I use in my phone:
Cookie's Home Tab
Laskar V2 transparent theme
Hero Clock for CHT
B&W Circular Battery icon
WM7 Metro Icons (I snatched some white icons from here)
Custom background by me
Noticed a couple of "bugs". App icons with the inner white border gets too crowded, so I'll be removing it like it was before it looks way better (you can still see the old icon in active sync and RSS in the image I took lol).
CHT icons will retain the inner white border, otherwise they easly get passed by apps, and simply doesn't look as good (the reason I inserted the 2nd border in the first place)
EDIT: Done
i was wondering if anyone could tell me what manilla files contain these icons

but im not sure about the 2 on the side
Thanks in Advance
If you mean the two on the side, as in the Call Mobile and Send SMS icons, I've attached the full set below [SMS, Mobile, Home, Work, etc..] Just extract the manila files in the ZIP to a dedicated folder. I've also attached a zip which includes the Tab Icons amongst the slider tray, as well as the Large Preview images.
All of the manila files have the System & Hidden Attributes, so you'll have to un-hide all hidden files, as well as show the system files, if you wish to simply get the manila names.
But if you want to edit, open CFC-GUI, and direct CFC-GUI to the folder with the extracted manila files.
INFO ::
'People Manila Files.zip' includes the icon set for the Left-Most icons in your picture (SMS, etc..)
'People Manila Tray & Slider.zip' includes ALL of the tray/slider icons, as well as the large Preview Icons that appear when sliding, from the People/Contacts area, .
