NEW_XDA_shutdown for MEGA - Touch2 Themes and Apps

What I can say??? Just XDA shutdown application
enjoy it

Looks sweet, will try it soon, thanx.

Does it replace the function of the end button (long pressed, it shows a menu for shutdown, lock, vibra, but not restart, so this program may be useful)?
Or I have to use it with a lnk (so this program may be NOT useful for me, as I use another restart program)?

Request: vjokbutton feature

I'd tried out several "task close" programs and have rounded up the 2 better ones..
1 ) vjokbuttons
2 ) phmkeys "close task"
advantages of vjokbuttons is that, u can add trailing options for the different behavior
advantages of the phmkeys close task is that, when u keep on pressing the hw button assigned to this phmkey close task, and the moment u are in today screen already, the next button press will prompt a suspend ppc dialog.. ie power down.
This phmkey has been used very extensively by me due to its ability to prompt a shutdown after all apps have been closed.
however, this nifty little program also have its disadvantages..
it does close the task window.. but as applications have secondary and tertiary windows, the phmkeys close task may cause the app to behave strangely if the task close is activated in the application secondary window..
also, it causes control panel apps to not run again if the phm task close was used to close , eg , "memory" in control panel..
I remember in wisbar, its task close button will automatic detect between the need of an "OK" click and the need for the "Close" click.
Is that possible to be included in the vjokbutton?
ie if in secondary window of app [ eg options page ] to have the vjokbutton to simulate an "ok" click instead of close? and if it detects that it is in the primary window of application, to simulate a "close task" when the assigned hw button is clicked..
and of course, when in the today screen , the vjokbutton should prompt for a suspend window for shutdown
can the above features be included in your next release? vijay555?
farbird: just a quick response for now, I need to sleep:
VJOKButt does already check every time it's pressed if the window is an "OK" or an "X", and does the necessary (ie it doesn't just close every app, it pressed ok if it needs to). Hopefully. If it doesn't, please detail the app it doesn't do this in. Not all apps respond to my emulated "OK" correctly, so it may not be 100% native.
Currently, pressing VJOkButt will close the app (if it's closable). If it takes you to the today screen, pressing it again will skip to next app. Pressing again, will close it. Continuous pressing will thus close all running apps in a cycle. Ultimately you will end up on the Today screen with no other running apps.
If you want me to, I can then implement a shutdown screen, so that a subsequent press will permit shutdown. But I provide VJEschaton for shutdown related stuff really. I'm not sure it's logical to build this into VJOkButt, but if you want, I'll think about it.

ya know...
I love your fast response...
great...
I will sit my butt in front of the monitor and refresh F5 this thread every 30mins and wait for your reply..
hehe

Treo 750: Long press "OK" key generates Opt+OK action....

I have my OK button configured for iLauncher OK button, so short press minimizes app, and long press opens up iLauncher Task manager. Yesterday, I tried to use "HandySwitcher Ok-Close button" for Opt+OK button, but since then, my normal OK short press still minimizes apps, but keeping it pressed opens up whatever I have configured Opt+OK for. I tried soft-resetting, changing apps for OK as well as Opt+OK, but same result. I dont even know what did I do wrong, and how did it start to happen..... Maybe a registry problem... Any suggestions please....
any ideas plz???

Closing program with hw-key, goddommit!

Im slowly going mad with Raphael, HTC didnt make this easy for me.
I only want simple things. Like, one hw-button on top panel of device, that really closes program. I mean REALLY, and EVERY TIME. Not casually, or just leave it hanging there on the background.
But no, this is a luxury I cant have. I always have to try to hit my big thumb into little X at right upper corner.
Lets have an example. Fire up File Explorer. Ok Im done with it and want to close program (by pressing nice and big hw-key, not aiming for small X). Options:
1. I press Home-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
2. I press Back-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
3. I press Endcall-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
...Seriously, WTF??? Why do we have THREE hw-buttons in top panel of Raphael, that do exactly the same thing? And as far as I have observerd, there is no really good solutions yet for remapping these hw-keys.
All I want is:
1. Button that takes me back to Home-screen (obviously Home-button)
2. Button that changes from program to another (alt+tab, I could use Back-button for this)
3. Button that really closes program (obvious choise would be Endcall-button).
Goddommit.
The Back button is really the OK button from previous devices like the Hermes. I agree the Home button is probably useless, but I suppose it's a fast way to get to the Home screen when you're in a call, since pressing Hangup while you're in a call will... hangup the current call.
With all the RAM in the device, is there any reason to really close any apps?
AEBPlus can handle all of them, but the Back button not. Unfortunately the Home button can be handled, but after hitting it,it jumps to Todayscreen and makes the command defined in AEBPlus,so it is unusable. I want to use those 2 buttons for something different as well as some of the keys on keyboard(SMS to OK/Close). As I don't understant 3 buttons for same functions,I don't understand, why we have 2 hw-keys for entering the messaging on the keyboard.

Soft reset/shut down-cab

Anyone that could give me tips for an soft reset cab?
I now use xdashutdown but on my TD2 the symbols are tiny.
I am looking for a cab with soft reset and power off in the same app,not just soft reset.
And yes,i have been searching, but find nothing.
Hi,
Try to search A-A Reset
BYE, Bobo
Have tried that, but in TF3D i can not see A-A Reset in the program list.
I must use file explorer to look it up.Even if i install the A-A reset cab...
I want something i can put in the program menu,so i can reach it fast.
wouldn't it be easier to just press and hlod the power button ? It closes the phone and when you press it again, there you have it : a soft reset. (only one button, and no installation needed)
It's a .exe no .cab.

It 'true, but the virtual button preserves the hardware key, especially for those who make frequent soft reset.
And also you can schedule
Because my cooking activities I've to soft-reset lot.
One of the first programs I put in a ROM is ClearTemp.
Has a option to soft-reset.

forgot where i got this, but it is here from xda developers... but this is the best so far... real credit to whoever made this, sorry I forgot the creator hehehe.. I am just passing this must have app to you guys...
what I do, is change the right soft key of TF3D2 from camera to Shut Down using some registry tweak, so I can shut down real fast without using the hardware power button...
cheers
I use My Soft-reset and it works well on D2.
HD Tweak comes with a separate app 'HD Soft Reset'. It appears in your programs and can therefore be saved as a shortcut in Start/Programs separate from HD Tweak. I use it, and it works fine! Just another idea to add to those above.

I use wei's soft softreset (freeware)

does work fine, I hate the ugly button... (= small blown up button)
- empty - sorry!

soft-reset button when long press Power Off

I have a wish: when I long-press the OFF button of my HD2 a screen appears with these options:
Power Off
Lock Device
Set Vibrate
Terminate Data Connection
Basically I only use the 1st option (Power Off)
I would like to have a new button: RESTART (or Soft Reset).
Is it possible?
Is there any cab available?
Is it possible to "rewire" the "set Vibrate" button or the "Terminate Data" button as a "Soft Reset" button?
Thanks and waiting

+1 to that, great ideea, or we could remap the long press end button to start xdashutdown.
+1 to that
Great idea!
Alternatively it would be not bad at all link xda shutdown to power button instead of htc quick list
I agree this would be more useful. Maybe someone can look in to it and remap the button.
Edit: I did a quick check in the Package for LongPressEndkey and there are no reg entries to change. Button graphics could be changed easily. I think all the functions are embedded in the exe file
+1 yes I like the sound of this too, would be very useful
Guys,
I have been strugglig for almost two weeks to have it working.
To have Slide2Shudown instead of the regular LongPressEndKey software, you have to use vijay555's VJBrisk, rename it as EndKey.exe, create shortcut file to the application you need, rename it as EndKeyLNK.lnk, place eveything in your Windows folder and voila
I attached the files I use to this post (assuming Slide2Shutdown.exe file is in \Program Files\Slide2Shutdown\).
