[Boot Animation] Qteknology's Splash Inverted v2 (Updated 2010-3-3) - Nexus One Themes and Apps

This boot animation is basically QTeknology's Splash boot animation, inverted and resized to play full screen on the Nexus One. It is also shortened so that the animation completes before boot process finishes. For Qteknology's original boot animation, please check out this thread:

Note: Version 2 removes the background banding.
This is the version with black splash on white background:

To install the animation, rename the file to bootanimation.zip and adb push to /data/local
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local

The link for the black version says the file is either invalid or its been deleted. I haven't tried the white, because I too have a mostly black theme.

Just tried this and it works fine but it isn't full screen, is this normal?

Gah, Mediafire upload crapped out on me. I've changed the host to Megaupload.

Which version did you try? The black splash on white background is the original made by Qteknology, and it's for MT3G and other devices with 320x480 resolutions, so it won't be in full screen.
The inverted version which I modified is extended to cover the full Nexus screen.

Can we get an md5 sum to verify we got the right download?

where do I put the file? I saw a couple different bootanimation threads and they both seem to place the file in different folders. So, where does this one go?

Thanks for that...the other location that I've seen was the /media location. What's the difference in locations for the same thing...(bootanimation).

It's better to push the zip to /data/local because /system is overwritten when you flash custom ROMs. So for ROMs with frequent updates (eg. CM) it saves the trouble of having to copy over the boot animation after reflashing. the /data directory remains as long as you don't do a wipe.

Bingo
Question, is there any way you can invert, your inversion? I prefer the white background with the black drops, as the color banding with the black is horrible (due to the Nexus, not your work)

Hey I have the white version on my Dream, but I admit I love the look of your black one now. I could go through and invert it myself, but since you've done the work for me... you don't happen to have the files lying around for the original-res, without the parts cut out, do you? You'd be a saint to upload them.

I was also a bit annoyed by the banding, so I did a quick fix to remove (most of) the banding in version 2. See if you prefer this version? Download link in first post.

Much better!!! I'd still love the white background just to bounce back and forth, but the v2 edition is superb! Thanks

Also rocking the Black V2. Looks great.

cool... very nice... maybe you could come out version that dont have any text in the end... just an animation only... thanks.. good job, keep it up!

Hey, unfortunately I cut out the sequence before I did the inversion, so I don't have the files lying around to package for a quick upload. =\

That would be a bit difficult, because the animation leading up to the text at the end is seamless and would be difficult to cut out. The original animation was designed by QTeknology, and he did an amazing job. I'm only doing minor photoshopping on his work. =)

Your fix looks good!!! amazing job.
Kinda gives me a hint on how to make my own boot animation.
Great work to you Qteknology and to you for inverting and making it Nexus one friendly!

[NEW ROSIE and TASKBAR] MT3G mod and Black Almost AOSP Taskbar

This is just a quick mod I had made for myself. But a few people had expressed some interest in it, so here it is. All thanks and credit go to jschisurf for creating the Rosie mod to begin with. This is simply my version of that mod with a black AOSP-like taskbar(I say that its almost because the location icon is different because I hate that target lookin thing). This isnt a theme really, so all the menus and colors are stock and green. I did, however, add the font and animations from the Darkstar theme just cause I like them better. Anyways, if you want it, here it is and enjoy.

awesome many thanks bro..
nice job..thank you very much....i love your work.....
for some strange reason this is what im getting when i am trying to push this to system app..the command box is telling me if directory is not specified then both system and data partitions will be updated..i typed this
c:\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb push./Rosie.apk/system/app
it work when i pushed your htcclock widget...
Thanks for this dude!
Appreciate it!
Thanks,
Tee Jay
I tried to flash this over IC3rom 2.2, and it worked except for the time and date. They font color is still black, which is now against a black taskbar so it's unreadable. Originally it used a white taskbar with black font, so is that my problem? Do I need to use a different rom for this?

I'll be the first one to tell you Im no coding expert. But I do know the way the slashes face are important. All you should do is this:
adb remount
adb push Rosie.apk system/app
That being said, I dont know what ROM and/or theme youre currently using but if you just push Rosie all its gonna do is give you the three buttons overlayed on your current set-up so I dont know how its gonna look. The black buttons aren't in Rosie.apk theyre in htc-resources.apk so if you want/need them then you'll just have to flash the whole zip. Or if you got some crazy **** goin on PM me.

You dont need to switch ROMs. In my haste I neglected to account for the fact that someone might try and flash this over a white taskbar. Anyways, Ill upload a different version.

If you notice, its just the satelite when gps is just turned off, and then the signal bars appear when you turn it on. The only way to fix it would be to change the location icon.

[Boot Animation]Xbox 360 Ring Of Lights [UPDATE] RRoD has been Resized

Hello XDA,
So here is my first Android contribution. The animation is the rings of light on the front of an Xbox 360 during boot.
This is my first Boot animation so please don't crucify my if its not perfect.
Also, I am not rooted and thus have not tested it yet. Let me know how/if it works alright. If all goes well I might make a RRoD version .
UPDATE: Thanks for all the feedback guys, I have created a new version with Cyanogen Mod colors and glowing. I will be recreating the original green one soon to mirror this one with the glow. Also make sure you rename it back to "bootanimation.zip"
UPDATE: Speed has been fixed on both. GIF below is actual speed

UPDATE: Standard Green Ring of Lights and Ring of Lights plus RRoD NOW available.
UPDATE: Original and Blue should be working now.
UPDATE: I have added a new size to the animation so that I fits screens better. (Thanks Inneyeseakay for the feedback)
UPDATE: Large version of the RRoD animation has been added. The GIF below is inaccurate in the animation, the green lights are only shown once, then the red lights blink until the phone boots, just like the original version of the RRoD did.
-Cheers
I dont beleive you have to be rooted to use custome boot images. you put it on /data/local/bootanimation.zip and /data is rw already. Cant say 100% for sure though.
Yeah man !!
A 360 gamer , nice
Thank's for this
Its off-center, no?
Mine doesn't appear off-center....NexusOne....
Great work on this man!! Not bad at all, gonna rock it till CM6 is out!!!
Looks great on the EVO, thanks
Pretty cool! Maybe the lights seem a bit on the thin side? Also could the "glow" animation be improved?
Thanks for using my Animation, this took a few minutes in Paint to make, I'll keep working on it and improve it. I also plan on making a Cyan Colored (CM) Version of it too.
This is pretty cool. All I can suggest is what other have already mentioned: try to make it a little thicker and add more glow effect.
Aw crap, I got the RROD.....
I have added the second version with Cyanogen Colors.

Hey man, Still loving the boot animation.... Got a few requests for ya if you got some time....
1.I'd love to see the green one made a lil bigger as other have said....
2.Also could you slow down the "spin" or whatever.... Seems the Nexus spins it so fast I can barely enjoy it!!!
3.I think a normal green w/ a RROD combo would be sweeeeeet!!! What I mean is, have the normal green one cycle thru once....Then fade or just turn red and blink for a cycle (then going back to start of course).... I think that would be hottttttt!!
Thanks again man, this is the kinda boot animation I like and you def hit the spot!!!!

Tried some troubleshooting and played with the .txt file.... Still couldn't get it to work

Thats wierd, all i changed from the original was the "fps" speeds.
Anyone else have any troubles?

[Boot Animations] & [Live Wallpapers] Nexus Holiday in a variety of colors

So I made a cyan version of the Holiday Nexus boot animation and thought I'd share it here.
I uploaded both a bootanimation.zip to adb push to the system/media/ folder, and a update.zip (CyanHolidayBoot.zip) to flash through the recovery menu.
You can use the method you prefer.
Update: I made some other colors too.
The files named 'bootanimation.zip' should be adb pushed, and the 'ColorHolidayBoot.zip' files are flashable in the recovery menu.
Update 2: I've made a version ('ColorSmallBoot_480x256.zip') where the cross isn't scaled up and therefore are more crisp and clear but smaller.
The cross is about the size of the original Nexus One boot animation.
I just made zip-files that you can flash in the recovery menu. If you want the bootanimation.zip to push you can pull it out from the zip-file.
Also I made this all kinda quick and have only tried out the cyan version, so if there's something wrong with the files let me know.
Update 3: A new version that's rapidly flashing between cyan, yellow, green and yellow. Looks kinda sick and psychedelic haha
Update 4: Green Live Wallpaper and Boot Animation with a new look.
Full size picture comparison of the old look and new style and a full size .gif preview of the new style
Update 5: New Style boot animations and live wallpapers for all colors. (No live wallpaper for Flashing Colors version)
The live wallpapers was generated with the Custom Creater script.

The regular size versions will look a little blurry on the phone because the pictures will be stretched out 4x the size there.
Try the small version or the new style version if you think it's too blurry.

It should be just as "blurry" as that one.
It have the same resolution 256x256 that is stretched out to 480x480, so of course it isn't that crisp. It's not that much I can do about it.
I guess they made it that way because it would be too big if the pictures was 480x480.
Personally I don't think it looks "terrible"
I've attached one that is more crisp, but smaller. Now it's in its original size. Try and see, maybe you like that one better.
I've also added small versions of all colors on first page.

Yeah, I know. I think it's the same with the original version tho.
But the pictures are actually even a bit larger in the small version lol, so it could possibly lag even more.
Maybe if lowering the fps it wouldn't lag as much. But the animation itself would be slower then ofc. It's 30 fps now, maybe that's a little too fast for the phone to handle during the boot up.

[Boot Animations](updated 10-19) Compilation of boredom...

First I did not create any of the artwork in these boot animations. I mixed the sound for some, and for others I mixed and matched images found throughout the internet (especially the portal animation). To give credit where credit is due, I used a lot of JaiRomeo's stuff so check him out at JaiThemes
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR PHONE!! Although, I don't know how you would mess up your phone with a boot animation.
Each file is either the bootanimation.zip or a .rar file that contains the bootanimation.zip and PowerOn.ogg files you need to put in /system/media and /system/media/audio/poweron respectively. Edit: Apparently with CM7 you have to do some magic to get the sound to work on boot animations, supposedly there is a kernel available that allows for sound. I have not tried this method out yet, so post your results if you try it out.
The speed shown on the images here is a little different from the boot animation. Last random thought, when your phone is starting up the user preferences for sound takes over after so long, makes it sound weird sometimes so I've tried to keep the sounds short.
To install simply
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
or
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/
adb remount
and to test the animation without rebooting
Code:
adb shell
bootanimation
CTRL + C to end animation

This is a mix of the nexus animation and the Galaxy Nexus commercial. It is a HUGE (22Mb) zip, but I've tested it running CM7 and it works. Just makes the boot a little longer sometimes since it plays the entire cycle. Then it'll loop the nexus animation until boot. (No sound)
Mix-Match
Mix-Match 2 (smaller version, 15Mb. Slowed down a bit as well.)
This one is all icecreamisdrugs work, I updated it to CM7,cropped it to the right size and added the Power House music. Also added a newer version with more color.
CM Fill Up , CM Fill Up Multicolor
Combined HaLo2FrEeEk's Matrix with JaiRomeo's Neodroid JaiVatar
Red Matrix
I put a bunch of stuff together, android by JaiRomeo
Portal Smash Apple
No clue who initially made this one, I know it comes from a commercial overseas by SK Telecom originally. I swapped some frames around, mixed the sound, and threw together the G2x portion.
Bad Android
"Iron Droid" has 2 different .ogg files, chose you poison, then rename the one you want PowerOn.ogg
Design made completely by JaiRomeo, I just animated it.
Iron Android
I don't know who made this one, if you know please let me know so I can update this. Also, no sound.

I honestly don't know how to click "thanks" for this, but thank you!!
thanks for the credit. I believe the commercial is by SK Telecom.
HaLo2FrEeEk made a blue and a green matrix as well; if anyone wants me to blend them like the red one, let me know. I'm not going to bother with them otherwise. Also the red matrix file has a .mp3 file so you can preview and decide if you want to use that sound or not.
can these be used for shut down animations, and if so how do you do it.
anyone know?

No, you have to edit the images in the PowerOff.apk in /system/app I haven't played with those yet so I have no clue how difficult it is.
Funny note on that though, that .apk also contains Verizon images as well as LG images.
Curious, I just updated back to CM7 nighties. Where the hell do I put the PowerOn.ogg file now? I've tried recreating a directory called poweron in the system/media folder and the data/local folder. Anyone know?
I did the same thing and no luck

added link to possible sound fix for CM7... haven't tried it yet.
Edit: Never mind, nothing to see here. I can't reproduce my sound success

There is a thanks button at the bottom right of every post in the forum along with "quick reply" etc.
The last flame one doesn't fit the screen, its very small. Its def my favorite though, simple yet busy.
Weird...it worked when I tested it. I'll check it out again this weekend. It's been downloaded a lot too.

ok so i threw the bad android one on my phone and i get nothing like that....all i get is .....android, and its flashing across it from left to right?
Try redownloading. I'll download it and see whats up when I get a chance, multiupload may be screwing it up. Like the flame animation before you, this one has been download a metric butt ton and nobody has complained yet. I will look at it though

This is the only one I had sitting around for this animation.
I've tried to use a couple of these several times but keep getting just a flashing android instead of full animation. Are these not working? I'm using root explorer.

If I am using Weapons do I need to delete the bootanimation zip already in media?

[MOD] Custom Boot Animations

Requirements:
ROOT
Tested with:
Galaxy S7 Verizon running "stang5litre Edition 5.0 s7e Rom"
***WARNING***
These are typically flashed with a custom recovery, which we don't have yet. I used FlashFire app to do this.
If a boot animation bricks the phone, the only recovery method to fix is to use ODIN back to stock, so do this at your own risk. I'll list the boot animations I tested successfully with, I've not had an error.
***Instructions***
Download any of provided zip files for the galaxy S6 Edge boot animations here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/themes-apps/custom-boot-animations-t3089208
Make sure you thank the OP in that thread for providing the boot animations!
1. Place the zip in your SD or External SD.
2. Open FlashFire, hit the + choose zip or ota, point to the zip file of boot animation desired (I recommend the Marvel vs DC boot animation on page 2 of the original thread, its pretty)
3. Ensure the EverRoot is disabled, hit the lightning button to start process. Phone will reboot and update the boot animation.
Tested/confirmed zips:
- from post #3 on the thread mentioned above -
Gametoy.zip
Futureos.zip
Samidisco.zip
Marvel vs DC.zip (post #20 page 2) (one I'm using currently)
have you tried doing the boot animation sound too ?
I have not. I personally don't like sound for boot up. If you have any specific info on that, or if there is a known problem or what not, then I can add to the OP.
i would love a stock google boot, like something from a nexus. i have my phone do a reset every morning at about 5am and the stupid Verizon splash creates a blinding white light that fully illuminates the room.

I flashed the zip from this post with some success. It got rid of the obnoxious Verizon splash, but the animation is laggy and keeps looping through the wrong part (when the word "android" forms rather than the spinning circles). If nothing else, it gets rid of the blinding white light haha

Thanks. I ended up flashing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65835742&postcount=11
It's the Galaxy splash screen, followed by the strobing Samsung logo until the phone powers on.

Here is one I made from the Nexus bootanimation, in think this is what your looking for.
Preview, I cropped the gif to make the file size smaller.

Sweet! Is it as smooth as it is in the gif? And does it cycle properly? I've seen a couple other variations floating around but they're kind of bugged out.

I think it is but you'll have to decide for yourself [emoji3]
I've been making bootanimations for years now and I'm quite picky about my work (I'm a Graphics Designer).
I'm using it on mine and I like it.
As far as, "does it cycle properly"
I made it so that it plays the animation and the loop is the Android logo cycling until the phone boots.

Yes. I did it when I was still stock.
How do you backup your current bootlogo? I can't find the bootanimation.zip Is there a app that I can use to back it up?

You'd have to manually back it up. It's located in system/media. Look for qmg files.
