how am i supposed to try it out with no downloadable content on the site?
It's still under development, public version will be released very soon. Currently you can try it by joining beta testing team.
Realistically, how long will it be before full release?

Well the beta runs very smooth on the TG01.
But it has some problems that need to be fixed.
Maybe I can help schaps with some bug reports to fix the beta.

is it still possible to get hold of the beta for tg01
Yes but you need to support the TouchXperience project.
That means you got two chances to get into the beta-tester team.
1. You donate the creator of the tool some money
2. You got much experience with software development.
If you like to test it, I would recommend you to support the project and donate shaps some money. He can use if for the development.

Russian Version of 5.2.2000 (20000.1.0.0) is out. Uploading to Rapidshare.
Author claims that this firmware was ported from a new unnaunced device which will come out only Q1 2008.
It Has:
1. WM6 AKU1.
2. Firmware is fully modular (SYS AND OEM)
3. Registry was optimised. It has Registry from official 19012.1.0.0. WWE, Russian version is made from *.0419.mui and localisation in corresponding *.rgu.
4. Bluetooth is optimised (author has no ideas in which way it was optimised , but original source clamed that =) ).
5. NetCF is stable.
6.Windows Media Player 11.2 Bulid 20000
7. ММС ver. 4.2.8.1 fully russian.
8. Camera (mix from different DLLs and original wizard camera) НТС ver 4.11.
9. New file certification OEM Sign 2007.
10. Redrawn skins from remember and edict.
All copyrights go to 3ppc.net.
WWE version is coming somewhere 3rd novermber (can be later)

By looking at the version numbers, that's seems a fake...
I'm going to try it. I think it's in russian but I'm sure theres something that can be done about that.

well theres always going to be something new, but just from what i know about m$, build 2000 would be internal or alpha and real release would not be a round number like that... im glad there's new stuff, but with everyone's hard work, we're at a pretty good place with wm6 for the wiz so i don't really care if its fake or not

Russian BETA will be available pretty soon (Wednesday-Thursday), but I'd add 2-3 days to that optimistic date.
Can't confirm release date for WWE version yet.
3PPC.NET claim that they are going release WIZARD AND PROPHET firmware simultaneously!

Well regardless, there are going to be major bugs most likely... If it is completely new then there are bound to be bugs because there hasn't been time for testing and revisions...
Still this will be nice to see. Anyone know when they're going to be releasing Photon?

I love ION and Hero too me is just...extra stuff? I love ION for the sheer speed. I run the old 08/08 version with little to no issues...Infact just updated my old release with finalized Wifi (hadn't done that lately).

Anyone recon this will ever get a full release / be finished? It has so much potential, Schaps needs to get this finished imo, seems like its been in development forever. I would pay for it as a full stable release if it ever does get complete, look how much spb have made off of mobile shell, forget donations Schaps, just finish it and put it on sale!!!
Yeah definitely have to agree with OP. Saw a video of it a couple months ago, it was actually one of my main reasons to upgrade to an HD2 . Patiently waiting still. Keep up the good work. I would definitely support the development if it ever gets released and put on sale

Definitely still ongoing. Registered on the main site last night - www.touchxperience.com - donated 20 Euros and asked to become beta tester. Had three emails from dev today and just waiting on download link and reg key. Apparently it can run over any ROM and at the same time as Sense - intrigued...

you cant cook TX due to if its cooked in a rom it cant be updated. I would suggest making a rom optimized for TX. if you donated you know why it has taken Schaps a while due to health reasons. everyone should be understanding that your health is more important than an app.

I'm not woried about that it could'nt be updated.... just cook a new rom when there is an update...!
The problem is that beta testers gets a key which belongs to that specific person.... if it's leaked, they can trace that person and bann that person.... so then there is no udate anymore!!!
Been playing with latest beta for a few days now and this UI is going to be awesome when it is fully functional - totally customizable, multiple animated backgrounds for different panels, g-scrolling menus, amazing task manager....
It runs alongside Sense and you can link between both - i.e. touching on various elements of your screen in Sense can take you to parts of TX, and in TX you can add in links to the Sense tabs if you have shortcuts activated in your start menu (or have HomeScreenJump or similar installed). The choice of widgets are amazing and the way you can customize the panels/widgets/opacity/text/icons/menus.....is mind-boggling. It is well worth donating just to get hold of even the beta versions to play with!
Beta versions are really heavy on battery drain though so be prepared to charge up more than once a day if you play with it a lot
DamageControl v3.5 Beta
Finally, after weeks of work, TrevE and I are proud to announce the beta of DamageControl, version 3.5 beta. This has only been given out to donors so far (and will be continue to be) until the final release, which is yet to be announced (we expect it to be soon). This ROM is based on Froyo. We have worked to make this as bugless as we could before we even released a beta, and we have found it stable enough to finally release it to a select amount of people (hence why donors are getting it first).
This thread is for those people to discuss the ROM that was sent in the email to them, so that existing threads don't get cluttered
Any other problems or issues can be reported in this thread. If it's something you really truly think is a bug, please put it in our new Google wiki/bugtracker available on Google Code:

DamageControl 3.5 - I get cancer when i use it.
Damage and I will get instant alerts on it and will put status's on it (accepted, rejected, dupe, etc). If someone already submitted an issue that your experiencing just star it and you will get updates as well and we will know how many people its affecting. Obviously items that have more stars we will try to resolve first.
Any FC's we will require logcat traces before we can accept them. Be as descriptive as possible please.
TO FLASH - You need latest radios / wimax as usual. Witslacks starting over guide is still the best method IMO to get these. If you already have the latest radios just wipe then flash DC3.5

We have just modified these kernels to work with DC. All props go back to there respective creators. Do not flash any kernel that has not been specifically modded to work with DC. If you dont know what this is or what it does you dont need these. You can damage your device with them.

Pretty simple question. The beta builds rarely get talked about. I don't know how compatible they will be with any of the "tweaks" I like. But with Android 11 in sight I would like to start partaking in beta builds.
Thoughts? Experiences?

Not bad not good, they just add fixes and add and remove things to try them out. I'm on them from day one and had no issues
Hmm. I'm thinking I'll wait until we get closer to Android 11. I'm comfy on 10.3.1 right now. Sounds like it's worth paying attention to changelogs though.

I find the beta to be snappier and faster in response time, but it lacks a certain smoothness that the normal release has. If you're a performance junkie it's worth it to upgrade and use a custom kernel.
Well, I let my phone make the decision for me, and said the build number is older on beta 9 so no go. I think this cements it for me, I'll be waiting for beta 10 and then I'll make the switch. Thanks again guys.
