DamageControl v3.5 Beta
Finally, after weeks of work, TrevE and I are proud to announce the beta of DamageControl, version 3.5 beta. This has only been given out to donors so far (and will be continue to be) until the final release, which is yet to be announced (we expect it to be soon). This ROM is based on Froyo. We have worked to make this as bugless as we could before we even released a beta, and we have found it stable enough to finally release it to a select amount of people (hence why donors are getting it first).
This thread is for those people to discuss the ROM that was sent in the email to them, so that existing threads don't get cluttered
Any other problems or issues can be reported in this thread. If it's something you really truly think is a bug, please put it in our new Google wiki/bugtracker available on Google Code:

remember THIS IS A BETA STILL we have opened our normal testing group to include all of you. Instead of having one tester we have a good chunk now. When it becomes general release expect it to be alot cleaner. Beta testing has its responsibilities, like submitting us worthwhile bugs.

PLEASE discuss issues here first. If you find something that is a reproducible issues submit it. In the subject we are looking for lines like
DamageControl 3.5 - I get cancer when i use it.
Damage and I will get instant alerts on it and will put status's on it (accepted, rejected, dupe, etc). If someone already submitted an issue that your experiencing just star it and you will get updates as well and we will know how many people its affecting. Obviously items that have more stars we will try to resolve first.
Any FC's we will require logcat traces before we can accept them. Be as descriptive as possible please.
TO FLASH - You need latest radios / wimax as usual. Witslacks starting over guide is still the best method IMO to get these. If you already have the latest radios just wipe then flash DC3.5

Kernels -
We have just modified these kernels to work with DC. All props go back to there respective creators. Do not flash any kernel that has not been specifically modded to work with DC. If you dont know what this is or what it does you dont need these. You can damage your device with them.

Im liking this rom. Really fast. My phone app has no lag. And the camera app is very fast. Phone also rings with no lag for me. just a couple things i've noticed.
Getting a force close on the weather widget. Otherwise so far so good
I'll wait till its available to everybody, but definately looking forward for the speed increase.

It's looks like modaco 1 only tons faster with the MR update 1.56.
A wipe then install fixed any force closes I was getting. It's clean and super fast and looks like factory firmware.

the fresh rom is based also on the MR update 1.56 and is way FAST....and there is no need to pay any subcription...
I signed up for the modaco site and flashed the MCR 2.0 ROM. I must agree that it seems VERY fast, although i feel like the HTC Location service bug might be affecting the performance a bit. It feels faster than the Fresh 1.1, but i really like the UI changes that fresh puts in, as well as how he removes the sprint bloat. I've tried using the Fresh Kitchen to remove the sprint apps on the MCR2.0 rom, but i cant seem to get it to work.
Overall i'm happy with this ROM. I'm gonna keep using it for the time being. :-D
Beta 2 is ready, i'll be uploading soon.

I give you HyperCSDI, The ultimate SuperCSDI.
This rom was posted on a smaller forum some days ago... and has reached over 9000 downloads. So its time to post it on a big forum like xda...
its superfast and supersmexy!
It's based on an unreleased version of Superatmel's SuperCSDI v5. Most of the issues of the beta have been fixed, what leaves is a superawesome rom.
SupSetup has been removed on this (We decided it caused issues), and some useful apps have been added. Also HTC Music and some stuff (I promise no warez like all the other roms)...
It's designed with Stock Donut designed so i won't include screenshots.
Plus you can't take a screenshot of something the speed of light (I'm cerial, this is the fasest rom evarz, it makes SuperD look stupid)...
Metamorph will only work on this as it is the rom everyone will soon be using, I need to get in contact with Stericson to ensure this.

As am I, I remember the last time a rom was out out that sounded like this. It was Android 1.0 with a few edits to be 2.1.....

update-script looks good. Has brut maps, htc ime, better terminal, Solo, teeter, astro, astrid.
I will flash as soon as my battery charges a little.
finally booted...took like 10 mins or so..but yea its fast very very fast...just to many preinstalled apps..but its nice

when you add the gapps, try to get Market to not FC, AND not have a limited app selection.. So far with froyo roms its only one... sad sad.
Also doesn't say whether JIT is working on this rom or not.

I do this to contribute my 2 cents - Many will agree I improve most things. Instead of getting on me for releasing this, go clean up where its needed - the nexus development section!
i dont contribute on here but jesus theres some pathetic idiots around sticking their oars in... twice ive felt the need to comment on negativity in the same day!! just be grateful theres people putting their ideas into developing for a 2 year old piece of hardware and making it great! Even when stuff is free, people act like tools. Does it matter who releases what? If you want CM, download CM when its here ffs King obviously likes to do it his own way and good on him for that, as do other dev teams and other devs.

I know that we just got a custom recovery but it is not perfect and beleive me that i am working on getting a full rom for you guys to load but please enjoy this awesomeness in the meantime
Remember that the root method and bat script were originally made by joeykrim and noobnl. these guys have done more than an awesome job of setting us up as root users
it will be out to the public in 3-4 days.

Here is what this ROM thingy does:
gives permanent root
uses my speed and battery optimized frameworks with moderate theming to rid of the ugly
transparent notification pulldown
using my default ringtones
using my default wallpaper
themed launcher
removed touchwiz and all apps associated with touchwiz launcher
removes alot of sprint/samsung bloat apps (dumb apks)
using my custom kernel which is overclocked
kernel adds 600mhx step to avoid overaggressive changes
undervolted cpu
tweaked conservative governor to scale up and down faster for better speed/battery
kernel is undervolted
slight edits to cpq for speed
circle battery indicator
added htc ime to sdcard
config edits on kernel for speed
version with andromeda kernel
problems:
with my current kernel the phone has a hard time booting. it may boot the first time everytime but it also might boot loop. I advise to try to put the phone to sleep right when the lockscreen comes up.
also with the undervolt you might notice the phone being a little bit slow to wake from sleep mode but the undervolt has helped alot on battery.
**I would still recommend this kernel as I have been running it for like 5 days and its really good. all the issues will be fixed soon
i do not beleive these problems arise on noobnl's kernel so i included his in a version.

I used your rom a lot for the evo, it was excellent, only thing I would change is adding the % to the circle battery.

CM7 will probably work first, then after a week or more, MIUI willost likely work, then ICS. Because bhundven and raver, maybe me, will probably help Thomas with the kernel and more.

Wait, so does this boot anymore?

Because, sometimes, things can just boot in a fluke.
It still boots. Just doesn't do anything...lol... I'm going to rework everything right now... I got the source code for it...

I wish we had that many devs on our phone
Oh well, if we had more on cm7, it will help us collect more info on our phone so we can try a port to ics or aosp, or whatever...
Think of cm7 as a 'information collector' we can use to do new projects in the future.
I'd love to hop on this project, but I can't handle that much multitasking. I think we'd get further with more people on cm7, and then later do an ics port.

I wish we did as well. I am amazed on how many devs they have with the cappy (my wife has one) and that phone kinda sucks...lol

I have recompiled this thing 22 times now and still cannot get it to work. The biggest accomplishment I have made was getting it to boot and the setup wizard to display. But have not gotten past that.
I don't know much about kernels, but the way you and team acid have laid things out for us, as well as having a little bit of time since I am on vacation now, I think I am giong to take a shot at it. But I still think there is A LOT more reading/learning I need to do first...lol

Just to update everyone. I managed to get fix a couple of things. When I hit the menu button while in setup wizard, I can get into the wireless menu. I was also able to navigate thru the setup wizard, but had no keyboard input my email/password. I found I was missing a key file for the keyboard and will fix it later. However, after navigating thru the setup wizard, the homescreen/lockscreen doesn't show. It's coming together, slowly but surely...

I made some good progress, I think anyways...lol
I installed swype and was able to get past the setup wizard properly.
I got the lockscreen to appear with a temp fix.
Still no homescreen, but I know where the problems lie and will be working on them tomorrow...
