is the Arcsoft MMS software found on CDMA cooked ROMS meant to work on a CDMA tp2 used in UK..
if so some help in config pls...
The simlple answer is YES... but you do not need a simple answer... you need a detailed answer.... we need a detailed question ...
1. who is your carrier?
2. what version of ArcSot is it? (If you don't know, then which cooked rom is it in?) If its in a cooked rom, I suggest going to that rom's forum for support.
I am sure that if you have the proper settings for YOUR carrier, then it should be able to work. If not, I am sure you can get one that will.
hey thanks for the input soo far but... My carrier is Vodafone UK, and im using a Juicy_R9 ROM.. brilliant rom.. except for this lack of MMS...
anything u can do...
It appears to the settings should be:
Vodafone MMS settings
Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
Authentication: Normal
Data bearer: GPRS
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 212.183.137.12
Session mode: Permanent
Port number: 9201
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms/
(source: http://www.filesaveas.com/mms.html)
Are those the settings that you are using?
Make sure that you set the correct carrier settings.

I work for T-mobile UK and trying to find MMS settings for phones we dont do is a nightmare!!! Ive looked on the forum and cannot find the settings.
I can connect to the internet fine using:
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
username= user
password= one2one
I want to set up MMS on the XDA 2 for T-mobile UK. I need to know the following:
Server Name
Gateway
Server Address
(and also anything else relevant to setting up the XDA2 with the T-mobile UK network)
If anyone can solve my problem I will give them a PERMANENT 50% cut in their T-mobile UK line rental. (Its good being staff! )
Cheers, this is what I used, and it worked.
Here you go
Server name: t-MobileUK
Gateway: 149.254.211.10
Server Address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
For the gateway IP you may want to play around with putting a 0 in before the 10. Sometimes the MMS client does not like the zero so I did not post it. I use my XDA II in the uk and the states. Works like a charm. and I have T-Mobile! Let me know if it works for you.
Mikee
Thank you very much! It worked!
If you wish to have any T-mobile line rental cut, private message me with Your name, your address and postcode, your T-mobile UK number and your password for accessing your account (if you have one)
Ill do the rest then get back to you when Ive added the discounts.
Thank you.
Finally I can set up MMS on my XDA II.
I'm also a T-Mobile employee. Dont understand why T-Mobile dont bring out the XDA in the UK.....maybe thats why we have to get O2 ones and get them unlocked.
We are due to launch the MDA 3 soon. The reason that we didnt take the MDA or MDA2 on in the UK was because we didnt think that the UK market was ready for these sort of devices. Lets face it, joe bloggs has only just given up his nokia 3310 and is beginning to dabble in picture messaging!
I dont think ill upgrade to the MDA 3 tho. I dont see it as a significant upgrade. an integrated keyboard is nice but i have a snap-on keyboard that does the job.
Anyone here knows where can I download auto config of GPRS for WM6, just like what I have before with my WM5?

Might help if you told us who your carrier was
But yeah, as stated above, check the 2nd post of my XM6 thread as I have cabs and pointers to various cariers... If you find one I don't have, let me know and I'll update it.
thank you for your replies, I am from the Philippines and I am using Globe Carrier. Before with my WM5 I have this auro config from my menu, and from that I got to choose the network available with it autosearching.
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
THANKS!!!!! --- @ BIGstiff (yuck, btw.)

Have you even tried to google for this? I put in one simple query and presto

suncom cab fiile
hey,
i have SunCom and I am constantly flashing new roms to my wizard. Is there a cab file that will automatically input the correct mms/internet settings so that I don't have to re-enter it time and time again? Also, if there is not a cab file in existence already, how do I make a cab file with those settings?
Is there a way to be able to access WAP sites on the DASH? I have the unlimited data plan, which I'm happy with, but it won't allow me access to "WAP only" sites. I tried going through T-Zones, which is the normal route on any other phone, but the T-Zones network settings are set to "The Internet", and therefore I cannot get to WAP sites. Is there a setting I can use to bring back my full T-Zones ability? (i.e. ringtone downloads, callertunes, web games, etc.)
I have been lurking here for about the last year, but have never seen a solution to this. Basically I need a way to essentially reverse the 5.99 unlimited internet thing to allow basic WAP with the $30 normal data plan.
Thanks for any help
Bob
(p.s. any word on the official HTC WM6 ROM?)
I guess you have to configure your connection settings fot the WAP network - create new WAP profile with the WAP access point.
Please excuse my n00bery, but how do I do that?
Can someone please help me with this? I just need to know how to set up my dash to access WAP-only sites
Thanks in advance
Hello... Is there anybody out there?
Was it a stupid question? Is this way too easy to figure out that I should be able to do it without help? Is it impossible? Check check is this thing on???
I can't believe there is noone here willing to help me out... can someone at least tell me if this is possible or not?
Hey guys,
basically i have upgraded to gullum's ROM and found that my MMS settings are wrong, meaning that pictures i send get resized by o2. My mms pictures are tiny and i need a registry entery from the original orbit 2 rom to help.
The links to this are:
http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=11821
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441428&page=2
could someone with the original o2 rom installed please tell me the registry entries at location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Arcsoft MMS UA - Config - mm1 - WspHeader
for
User-Agent string
and
x-wap-profile string
thanks
Fergus
As a temporary measure i decided to use the info from this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2648519
but i still need the orbit 2 settings. If anyone can spare 5 min to check those registry strings that would be great, thanks!
just for my own records what the gullum ROM has is:
and
(HTC_P3650/arcsoft-mmsua-4.0.0.xx)
User-Agent string
HTC-8900/MR2
and
x-wap-profile string
http://www.htcmms.com.tw/ATT/Pilgrim-1.0.xml
thanks for replying, but are you sure you are using o2? Those headers would appear to be for another service provider and model.
Surely the user agent profile would have orbit2 in it somewhere?
I have the 02 XDA Orbit 2 running O2's official wm6.1 update:
RUU_Polaris_O2_UK_3.13.206.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe
But, I am in the USA and use a cab file to install AT&T's settings. Guess that's a problem as far as the settings you're seeking.
Sorry.
this makes perfect sense then. The cabinet file has likely altered your mms applications software, arcsoft to think that the phone is the pilgrim. Likely this is a phone that At&T sells with its network, so it knows exactly how to handles picture messages from this phone.
The ignito fix works for me in the same way, however i would prefer the original o2 settings.
Had occasion to do a hard reset so I let it install the O2 UK Post Pay settings. Hopefully this is what you need:
User-Agent
Xda_Orbit_2/arcsoft-mmsua-4.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile string
http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/Polaris-1.0.xml
thank you very much this is exactly what i was needing! Your help is much appreciated.
However it is just my luck, i need to reflash since i appear to have a touch screen/button fault. If this doesn't clear then i will be sending the device back. So i will have the opportunity to get the settings anyway!
I previously made a cab to enable Vodafone Live! access on WM6 and WM6.1, but now WM6.5 has come along...
For websites such as Vodafone Live! and Planet 3 you have to be using an "authorised" phone before they will let you view their site. This cab will make Pocket IE identify itself as a Nokia N95 browser - and as that's an authorised phone, you'll be able to see the full content. I've tested this with Vodafone Live! in the UK and it works perfectly.
Please note that for Vodafone Live, you have to be connected to the internet by Vodafone's "WAP" connection rather than the more usual "Internet" connection. For "Mobile TV" you also need to make sure that your streaming media player connects via WAP settings. Notes on how to set up a WAP connection are below in case you don't have one set up already. Not sure if Planet 3 has a similar requirement, but please feel free to comment.
Enjoy!
-Go to "Start", "Settings", "Connections" then click on the "Connections" icon.
-Go to the "Advanced" tab and just below the first drop-down box, click "New..."
-Name your new settings (I called them "Vodafone WAP") and click on the "Modem" tab
-Click on the "New..." button and name your connection ("Vodafone WAP" again), then choose "Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)" from the drop-down box, then click "Next"
-Enter: wap.vodafone.co.uk as the Access Point Name and click "Next"
-User Name is: wap Password is: wap Leave "Domain" blank and click "Finish"
-Go to the "Proxy settings" tab and tick the boxes which say "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network uses a proxy server"
-Tap "Advanced", then Tap on "HTTP" and enter 212.183.137.12 in the Server box and "8799" in the Port box.
-Click Ok.
thank you so much!
If anyone knows the 3 settings that would be great
anybody? i didnt think 3 was that bad!
how about vodafone new zealand?? with this do you now have a vodafone live! icon in the programs or have to type in voda live url in the browser?
hi sub69.go on,please do one for 02 iphone sim,or do 02 work differently to 3uk ?
Thank you very much for this tweak. As a Touch Pro user I want to login Vodafone live! because I want to watch TV. I am using Windows Mobile 6.5. Now I can't get acces to the vodafone live portal.
Is this tweak also usefull for Touch Pro users in other country's. For example I live in the Netherlands and I think the settings for the UK will not work for me. Am I right ?
In the Netherlands the settings are:
Accespoint: live.vodafone.com or office.vodafone.nl
Username: vodafone
Password: vodafone
Proxysettings
HTTP Server: 192.168.251.150 Port: 8799
WAP Server: 192.168.251.150 Port: 9201
Will these settings work ?
Thank you very much for your reply.

Hi, I'll try to be clear (my English is not good)
I have a Kaiser already unlocked, I'm now on T-mobile (UK) and wanna go to 3 network. When I put the 3 sim, I can use all functions on 3 (skype, msn, planet 3...) ONLY WHEN I AM AROUND THE CITY CENTER (MANCHESTER). When I go Home (Whythenshawe) The level of the signal of the network is very weak and most of the time I cannot be connected on the 3 network. It is not the problem of the area because one friend have a 3 phone and use it at the same area normaly. I asked the operator of 3, they told me that I have to buy a 3 phone.
I tried to install (Identify as N95 (WM6.5).cab), but the problem is still there.
Does anyone knows what to do?
How do you configure it for Vodafoe Australia? I was able to browse to web for 1 day only and then it failed. I read a thread that said remove proxy so I did and it still wont connect. I can access Facebook I think because its free with Voda but I cant access the web, messenger or emails. Does anyone know the settings for Australia?
3 app problems
I have a similar problem most their apps only work when I have a 3g connection, where I live that's pretty unlikely and I think I heard thier GPRS is actually via orange or tmobile
Vodafone Live in India
I am using HTC Touch Viva having Windows Mobile 6.1,
Please help me how to configure Vodafone live in it .. India
