I work for T-mobile UK and trying to find MMS settings for phones we dont do is a nightmare!!! Ive looked on the forum and cannot find the settings.
I can connect to the internet fine using:
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
username= user
password= one2one
I want to set up MMS on the XDA 2 for T-mobile UK. I need to know the following:
Server Name
Gateway
Server Address
(and also anything else relevant to setting up the XDA2 with the T-mobile UK network)
If anyone can solve my problem I will give them a PERMANENT 50% cut in their T-mobile UK line rental. (Its good being staff! )
Cheers, this is what I used, and it worked.
Here you go
Server name: t-MobileUK
Gateway: 149.254.211.10
Server Address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
For the gateway IP you may want to play around with putting a 0 in before the 10. Sometimes the MMS client does not like the zero so I did not post it. I use my XDA II in the uk and the states. Works like a charm. and I have T-Mobile! Let me know if it works for you.
Mikee
Thank you very much! It worked!
If you wish to have any T-mobile line rental cut, private message me with Your name, your address and postcode, your T-mobile UK number and your password for accessing your account (if you have one)
Ill do the rest then get back to you when Ive added the discounts.
Thank you.
Finally I can set up MMS on my XDA II.
I'm also a T-Mobile employee. Dont understand why T-Mobile dont bring out the XDA in the UK.....maybe thats why we have to get O2 ones and get them unlocked.
We are due to launch the MDA 3 soon. The reason that we didnt take the MDA or MDA2 on in the UK was because we didnt think that the UK market was ready for these sort of devices. Lets face it, joe bloggs has only just given up his nokia 3310 and is beginning to dabble in picture messaging!
I dont think ill upgrade to the MDA 3 tho. I dont see it as a significant upgrade. an integrated keyboard is nice but i have a snap-on keyboard that does the job.

Hello, I am going to be in Tokyo for the next few months for work. I use an HTC Hermes here in the UK. I am interested in having the office in Tokyo get me one to use whenever I am there. Questions:
1) Is the Softbank X01HT the model to go for? What advantages does this give over Docomo? Is there an unlimited data tariff? If not, what tariff should I go for if I want to use the phone for email and internet?
2) I use IMAP mail. I have tried but been disappointed with FlexMail 2007 as an email client, particularly since it does not support Asian characters. What other email clients (other than the WM5 standard which does not support multiple IMAP email addresses) are available with Asian language capability?
3) I am thinking the HTC Hermes will be best because it will be easy for me to configure since I already have one in the UK. Are there any other leading edge WM devices available that I should also consider?

Japanese Hermes
Wassup, I used to live in Tokyo and theres never really been a "unlimited" data plan. They are pretty expensive compared to like Sprint but they offer a variety of different plans to match your usage. The best thing is to talk to the carrier rep directly. Both Docomo and Softbank are the same network. GSM+WCDMA. As far as english apps go they will work as-is. Its japanese appz that won't work on english phones. (kanji and phoenetic characters use a double size font) Roman characters only need half the space so it works great. The only thing is that you won't be able to change the system to english. Hmmm, I think. I may be wrong on that one. hehe.
You might actually wanna check out the Willcom Zero3. That phone is sweet! Although it is a PHS network. Not compatible with anything outside Japan.

Hello S710 experts,
I have been browsing this forum for a while but haven't really found any conclusive answers to a couple of important questions I have.. I am ready to buy an S710 but need to find out the following:
I have a Blackberry plan on T-Mobile Czech Republic and everything works fine with my 8700 handset (connected to BES)..
1) if I buy an unlocked S710 how can I find and set the internet connection settings on the device? With my 8700 (which was formerly a UK Vodafone device) I just inserted the SIM and it made an EDGE connection and it was good to go. Is it that simple with the S710 or is there more to it?? Unfortunately I cannot speak a word of Czech so the local T-Mobile site is not much use!
2) I know it will be unsupported but how likely am I to be successful with BB Connect with this device/network? I have seen links to download the BB client for the S710 but has anyone managed to get it working with a setup similar to mine?
3) What about wireless syncronisation of BB calendar and contacts? This is a must for me - does it work?
Am looking forward to comments on the above and hope I can go ahead and purchase!! (now I need to find a retailer who will ship to the CR!)

I just obtained a new AT&T Tilt (8925) (HTC Kaiser) and I want to use it on the Rogers wireless system in Canada. I can use the phone and text but cannot access the internet and MMS. I spent an hour on with the Rogers Techs and still couldn't get it going. Does anyone have an idea as to the settings I need for the internet and MMS? Also this phone has the AT&T "today" page. How can I change it to reflect the "today" page that I have seen on the HTC "Touch" as I like the big clock and weather aspects.

hello, and welcome to the forum.
check out the wiki's,

not sure how things have changed ( or not ) ... but I'd previously used this fine with my HTC S621 ... now I'm a TyTN II owner but swear against a data plan in Canada ... now that rogers also announced they will carry the "iPuke" ... owners will be charge through the roof to really benefit the multimedia plan needed to enjoy it !
if this work or not for you, update the result so that someone else can benefit, will ya ?

I have the AT&T tilt and found that the proxy on the phone is the problem. It is a hidden proxy and you will not see one set in the network options. To turn it off there are 2 proxy files in a folder in the programs menu. One to enable and one to disable. You must use the one taged "ProxyDisable".
Another way is to delete all the network settings and run an updated Connection Wizard file. I tried to attached the one I'm using but the upload keeps failing. The one I use will see the network header from your SIM card and set up all the proper settings for you. I have downloaded several and none seemed to have Canada in the list. The one I tried to attach will prompt if you want to setup on Rogers right away! Surf until your heart's content
Google for "HTCConnectionSetup 1_0_30726_1.cab" and run it directly from your phone.
As for the Kaiser default look you are refering to (also seen on the Touch), you can flash your phone with a cooked rom or the official HTC Kaiser rom. The Tilt is actualy a TyTN II (codename: Kaiser). The only difference with the Tilt is the missing front facing camera and the AT&T boot intro and software. I did not like seeing the AT&T logo on startup as I'm on Rogers so I flashed it with the original Kaiser rom. I have tried many other but currently have Dutty's latest rom and it works well and is feature packed. Another way is to unzip and run the HTC Home file (I could attach the file this time!) from your phone to get the Weather and clock.
I perfer the cooked rom method as they can be much faster and have all the "bloatwere" and trial software removed. Many of them have tools and apps that are very usefull. Check out the rest of the posts in this forum and you will find everything you need to know on flashing your rom, even how to flash back if you need to get the phone serviced.
they just jumped in & asked for help ... then we provided possible solutions for a small consideration ( feedback of what works & not so others could benefit ..etc ) ... and they can't even return the favour !!!

Um... read 3 posts up (my first post on this thread)???? I had answered the first person's question and it will answer yours
My pet peeves:
1. People who do not use the search feature or Google
2. People who do not read the thread they posted to
3. Answering questions that have already been answered by another person asking the same question in the same forum
ur not the only one with those peeves...i'm sure a lot of us have them..especially ones that are really active and helpful
Hey there...
today i had the idea to improve my adress book.. but dunno how...
since i got a tmobile germany and landline flatrate..i want to know if the number i'm contacting is for free or need to pay..
there is a possibility to call an number and enter the number you want 2 check and get the network.. but this kind of sucks big times... is there some kind of webservice or programm which can support my intension? and for example add a network prefix to the adressbooks name?
thx in advance
try this.
http://www.fonefinder.net
This is actually not what i am looking for... see for example there is my sisters contact in the adress book ... but how do i know if the number i am calling is for free because of my tmobile flatrate? nowadays you can take your number with you when changing the provider.. some years ago you where at least able to get the provider by the prefix of the mobile number..
now i want something what can tell me the provider to the number

It also doesn't actually work. It goes back to some outdated database before Local Number Portability worked. I put in my cell number, which used to be my landline number, and lo and behold, it still thinks it's owned by a local PacBell CO.
Well then in reality there truly is no way to know with 100% accuracy which provider someone is with. This at least provides some level of accuracy whether outdated or not. For instance, mine shows up as correct. Should I port my number tomorrow, it would be incorrect though. Don't think there is any other way available for regular consumer based searches.
but for example i can send a message with the number to some special tmobile number and it charges me with 19cent and sends the provider back.. infos in german
http://www.teltarif.de/i/portierung.html
i can also call a number for free and type in the phone number and it tells me the provider.. but this kind of sucks for all my addressbook entries

Yeah, but the only way to achieve what you're looking for is a direct and almost permanent connection to the database hosted by T-Mobile (
Zentrale Master Routing Datenbank (zMRDB)) in which the number and the provider to which it belongs is stored.
And since the access to this database is not free (not to say pretty expensive) you won't find any solution to this.
CU,
Cactus World
but it says i can use wap for it.. so somehow there must be an service to use, which provides the necessary infomation
MNP / zMRDB / provider finder

Hi adrian,
have you tried this: http://www.mobilfunknetz-finder.de
Would be nice to have something like ProviderFinder (works on iPhone only) for WM or Android.
Greetz, Cee.
I previously made a cab to enable Vodafone Live! access on WM6 and WM6.1, but now WM6.5 has come along...
For websites such as Vodafone Live! and Planet 3 you have to be using an "authorised" phone before they will let you view their site. This cab will make Pocket IE identify itself as a Nokia N95 browser - and as that's an authorised phone, you'll be able to see the full content. I've tested this with Vodafone Live! in the UK and it works perfectly.
Please note that for Vodafone Live, you have to be connected to the internet by Vodafone's "WAP" connection rather than the more usual "Internet" connection. For "Mobile TV" you also need to make sure that your streaming media player connects via WAP settings. Notes on how to set up a WAP connection are below in case you don't have one set up already. Not sure if Planet 3 has a similar requirement, but please feel free to comment.
Enjoy!
-Go to "Start", "Settings", "Connections" then click on the "Connections" icon.
-Go to the "Advanced" tab and just below the first drop-down box, click "New..."
-Name your new settings (I called them "Vodafone WAP") and click on the "Modem" tab
-Click on the "New..." button and name your connection ("Vodafone WAP" again), then choose "Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)" from the drop-down box, then click "Next"
-Enter: wap.vodafone.co.uk as the Access Point Name and click "Next"
-User Name is: wap Password is: wap Leave "Domain" blank and click "Finish"
-Go to the "Proxy settings" tab and tick the boxes which say "This network connects to the Internet" and "This network uses a proxy server"
-Tap "Advanced", then Tap on "HTTP" and enter 212.183.137.12 in the Server box and "8799" in the Port box.
-Click Ok.
thank you so much!
If anyone knows the 3 settings that would be great
anybody? i didnt think 3 was that bad!
how about vodafone new zealand?? with this do you now have a vodafone live! icon in the programs or have to type in voda live url in the browser?
hi sub69.go on,please do one for 02 iphone sim,or do 02 work differently to 3uk ?
Thank you very much for this tweak. As a Touch Pro user I want to login Vodafone live! because I want to watch TV. I am using Windows Mobile 6.5. Now I can't get acces to the vodafone live portal.
Is this tweak also usefull for Touch Pro users in other country's. For example I live in the Netherlands and I think the settings for the UK will not work for me. Am I right ?
In the Netherlands the settings are:
Accespoint: live.vodafone.com or office.vodafone.nl
Username: vodafone
Password: vodafone
Proxysettings
HTTP Server: 192.168.251.150 Port: 8799
WAP Server: 192.168.251.150 Port: 9201
Will these settings work ?
Thank you very much for your reply.

Hi, I'll try to be clear (my English is not good)
I have a Kaiser already unlocked, I'm now on T-mobile (UK) and wanna go to 3 network. When I put the 3 sim, I can use all functions on 3 (skype, msn, planet 3...) ONLY WHEN I AM AROUND THE CITY CENTER (MANCHESTER). When I go Home (Whythenshawe) The level of the signal of the network is very weak and most of the time I cannot be connected on the 3 network. It is not the problem of the area because one friend have a 3 phone and use it at the same area normaly. I asked the operator of 3, they told me that I have to buy a 3 phone.
I tried to install (Identify as N95 (WM6.5).cab), but the problem is still there.
Does anyone knows what to do?
How do you configure it for Vodafoe Australia? I was able to browse to web for 1 day only and then it failed. I read a thread that said remove proxy so I did and it still wont connect. I can access Facebook I think because its free with Voda but I cant access the web, messenger or emails. Does anyone know the settings for Australia?
3 app problems
I have a similar problem most their apps only work when I have a 3g connection, where I live that's pretty unlikely and I think I heard thier GPRS is actually via orange or tmobile
Vodafone Live in India
I am using HTC Touch Viva having Windows Mobile 6.1,
Please help me how to configure Vodafone live in it .. India
