Does anyone try this application for our HD2 to prevent data connection in roaming?
I found it in Market Place but it is not free.
I also found this other application "nodatainroamig", but, according to the official thread, it doesn't work properly on HD2.
Thanks for answering
I'm using NODATA seems to work just fine...
Unlikely "nodatainroaming" has some issue: sometimes it doesn't recognize when the band is back not in romanig and it keep blocking the data connection since restart the phone.

every time i want to send/recieve my mail it want to use 3g although i am connected to wlan(that has intenet) that is sometimes happens with msn too.
i have htc touch diamond latest official rom.
any ideas why is this happening and how to fix this??
Mostly it is because you bought a phone, not a wlan terminal. Service providers do not make any money if the default setting on the phone is set to access free wifi and not their pay data connection.
Try nodata , to switch of your data connection when you wish to only use wifi.

Please HELP!
Hey,
I have 2 questions, i have done some googleing on both topics, and ill explain my results and confusion below.
But i was wondering:
Is it possible to have a application to run as part of the operating system, i use a application called CallCalander that runs, but it is still displayed in the task manager, and closed when i run Orbis Close Applications application, but i would like it to be a part of the system, like on windows where you have services, or something such as.
I tried to google this, but i got random results, and results aimed at windows OS, not the mobile version.
My second question is, there has been alot of information about this, but most post's and information i have found says it is not possible, or only possibly using WMWifiRouter, But i was hoping to use my phone as a Wireless card, and if possible when wireless is not available to use the 3G connection instead. Though i could use the Internet Sharing application built in to WM6.1 for the GPRS, but i was hoping that there was a automattic solution, that would switch when wifi is not available.
Also one of my laptops has bluetooth (And a wireless card, but if i can get a auto switch to 3g if wifi is not available, i dont see ill be using that card often), the other does not, so i deffonatly need it to be made available via USB, but if it also supported bluetooth that would be a excellent advantage.
Thank you for any help
Regards
Chris
Ok ignore my question about WiFi for future refrence WMWifiRouter works for using your device as a USB Dongle, as well as a host of other features, deffonatly recommend checking it out!!!
Though not had much chance to play with it, but still it works excellent with a few issues for when i get a phone call, or use the phone's data connection.
As for running an application as a service, still have no idea on that.
Hey all,
Well, first of all, I just got my Orange E650/HTC variant and excited to contribute by developing cool stuff for it, but I need to solve one problem first
How do I disable the data plan so I don't have to deal with paying for random data charges? I pretty much just want to use WiFi for internet purposes rather than GPRS. Is it sufficient to remove all the GPRS connections in Start->Settings->Connections->GPRS? I've done this and for some reason Skyfire is still able to access webpages.
Does anyone have an alternate way to disable this data usage? And is there a way to verify that its not being used? (I guess I could verify it by using Skyfire and seeing if it can view a webpage).
Thanks.
EDIT: So I'm messing with my phone without my SIM card in it because I don't want to get charged for random GPRS usage and accidentally fire up Skyfire and its still accessing webpages. What is going on here?
if you search for modaco nodata then that app is great its really simple and works fine. I installed fireburneds 6.5 rom (from this forum) and it has it built in, so thats another way to do it
Hm, well I've tried NODATA and it gives me some error when I try to start up the program after installing it.
So I figured I might as well do a clean install since I bought the phone off eBay and it has remnants of the previous owner's information on it but I was wondering, if the phone has been unlocked and if I install a different ROM will the phone be re-locked? Or are those two completely separate?
Nevermind, found the answer (phone will not re-lock). Thanks everyone
Hello everyone,
Forgive me if this has already been asked, but after searching and searching thoroughly I was unable to find a solution.
I have the T Mobile HTC HD2, the phone is better than any iPhone I ever owned. (Just had to get that out... )
I have a question concerning the HTC CM Wifi Internet Sharing. I installed the app, ran it without any issues. The signal was picked up by one of my laptops. I was able to connect and surf the web over 3G, pretty quick I must say...
The issue I am having is, since connecting that one time, I have not been able to see the phone as a router since. When I run the app and choose T-Mobile data, the 3G pops up. The wireless antenna icon pops up and the app says it is ready to receive incoming connections. BUT, I am unable to see this from any of my wireless devices.
My questions are, is there any specific procedure to get this to run correct? Do I have to disable wireless on the HD2? Is there some WinMo 6.5 firewall running? I know others have experienced this, but I am unable to track down a solution.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
mcv50
Are you running the app through Settings-All Settings-Connections-Wifi Internet Sharing? Or running the WifiRouter app?

I am running the app through Settings-All Settings-Connections-Wifi Internet Sharing
After i installed the cab, this is the only place I could find a way to launch the app.
Why is there another way?
I downloaded a random wifi sharing app and had the same problem, then found XDA-Tom_Codom CM Wifi Internet Sharing VGA. Worked like a charm. I would uninstall and try that one.
SxyCupcake, thanks for the suggestion.
I uninstalled, then installed the XDA-Tom_Codon CM Wifi Internet Sharing VGA.cab you suggested. I get the same result. I am rebooting right now to see if that may help...
After rebooting, I get the same thing. It almost seems like something is blocking the WiFi Transmit antenna signal or maybe it is not activating correctly... Might be a registry setting or something.
I may have fudged up some setting using BsB Tweaks or XT Hack Beta2... I might wind up just doing a complete restore and start from scratch.
Still doesn't work. I will check back often and post a solution if I figure it out.
Thank you,

Q: My PC or Laptop is not seeing the SSID.
A: For the people having trouble seeing the network, make sure your pc displays adhoc connections and not just access points.
Now it is working...
Moved as not software release.
I've download skype 3.0 from various locations and threads in this forum but, no matter which install I use wheather install from PC to Htc Hd2 or install cab directly from Htc Hd2. When I input my login into into skype in the htc hd2 it just gets stuck to the skype screen with rotating blue circle like it's continuing to try and login and then eventually get a "network connection not available" or something even though I'm connected to wifi network. It just won't login, and I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm on T-mobile is it since the phone is locked to t-mobile does it have to be unlocked to use skype?
thanks
I thought Skype support was being pulled for mobile devices except iPhone??? Anyway have you told Skype what connections to use. In the settings somewhere it say Wi-Fi, 3G and ActiveSync MAke sure the entry with 3G is in use. Also if you don't use a proxy server, make sure it is unticked in the connections settings for the phone itself. I had this issue when I first used Skype on my HD2. I don't use it anymore as I thought the service via my mobile was utter garbage. Hope it works for you.

Thanks for the reply. Skype doesn't support the Windows Mobile version anymore but, apparently it's still possible to install it and get it working from what others are saying. I was previously only trying with the ActiveSynch/Wi-Fi but, this time reinstalled it and selected ActiveSynch/Wi-Fi/Mobile but, it's still doing the same thing and proxy server is unchecked.
Can't help with the issue you're having, but maybe useful for some people to know you can still download Skype for WinMo if you select server 2 from from the Skype download page on freewareppc.
Server 1 (skypes own download link) is no longer active.

Hey dude,
It happens with me all the time...what i do i uninstall it and reinstall
strange enough works after
I still have the problem. I was able to log in last year (2011), but not anymore. Maybe it's because of my custom rom? Just installed one...
