F...xxx... Handango.com

Well, I thought its a joke: Download protectino at handango is $6.99 FOR EVERY SINLGE PIECE OF PURCHASED SOFTWARE? At the beginnig I thought its $6.99 for ALL purchased software.
Anyone wants to start a Handango.com boykott? I would gladly join since I bought 70 applications with Handango and would have to pay hundreds of dollars to be able to download them again.
Any other good vendors? Pocketgear?
Handango is rubbish. Use pocketgear. They let you download your purchased applications whever you want, again.
I stopped using Handango about 2 years ago...they're just awful.
Unfortunately, once in a great while you find SW that is only available from them (not even the developer!) in which case you take the risk.
9/10 though I go
1) developer's website (Paypal rocks)
2) pocketgear (or smartphone.net)
I can't believe anyone would use Handango these days. The site itself it just an awful mess and a b*tch to navigate.

By far I think pocket gear is the best. I too thought the so called 'protecton plan' was for all software I purchase. How could they think of this!

I recently received notification of an update for software I purchased through Handango. There were problems with getting my free upgrade. However I have to say they were very quick in responding to my contact and were very helpful and polite. They also followed up to make sure everything was ok and gave me a 10% discount on future purchase.
I did take the opportunity in feedback to comment on the download protection fee as an issue that seems unfair and that they may be losing business to the likes of pocketgear.
I think sometimes we complain to the wrong people and we may forget that actually a company may genuinely wish to serve their customers and may listen to well meant criticism. Certainly Handango unlike many organisations were very responsive to my on-line contact. Many companies don't even bother to reply to on-line requests for help or complaints.
That's not to say that out of the 200,000 members here that there will be no horror stories though.

You surely have a point there. In any case the protection plan is optional.

office

Does anyone know a good free program to read microsoft office files??
Thanks
Documents To Go.
Use the market!!!
yeah, if you just need to view/read then the free documents to go is the best.
But it costs $14.99 if you want to edit them. THough they do put it on sale down to $5.99 a lot. keep forgetting to buy it when it goes on sale.

GTab $339 shipped!!!!!!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
According to member 'goodintentions':
"The 10 bucks thing is still on. You need to go to their website and then a popup asks you for your email. Give it to them, confirm it, and they will send you a $10 discount."
so, $339 and holding!
I have scored what may be the best "new condition" GTab price yet!
So, you can get a $10 credit just for liking Tigerdirect.com's facebook page
(you will need to have a facebook account... but who doesn't at this point)
I clicked the "like" button, entered my email address, and shortly thereafter
received my $10 credit via email...
I initially searched their site for a $10 gadget that I could score for free...
but found nothing I really liked...
Then I figured I better check to see if they carry GTab's and for how much...
They have it listed for the typical $369...
so with my $10 credit I was looking at $359 with free shipping
which was not a bad start... but then I noticed on sales page for the GTab:
(apparently I am too new to post links here...
so just search "viewsonic g tab" at tigerdirect.com)
there is a $20 extra savings coupon code listed right there "HSN23053"
Naturally I assumed they could not be combined...
but it turns out that they can be combined...
now my total was $339... with free shipipng, and since I live in CA
NO TAX too!
How could I not click the "order" button
So there you have it... anyone holding out for a price drop should stop holding out and take advantage of this deal before that $20 coupon code disappears!
I even took a screenshot for the non-believers.
Where's the facebook link? I'm not able to track it down.
Thanks...
I cannot post links yet... just google "like tigerdirect.com"
or search for tigerdirect.com on Facebook
Hope that helps
Is there a time limit? I'm busy now.

How???????
Looks like this FB thing is expired, but another way to do it for about the same price (even a little cheaper) is to got to ebates.com and get 3% by going to tigerdirect from there. I use them all the time and have gotten several payments back using their site. A G-tablet for less than $339 is a steal!

I would like to know how you did it. I might order from Tiger Direct or go to a Home Depot & get one in person.

I'm guessing you mean Office depot.

so you're telling me I have to update my update...
they had some cpn codes on slickdeals where if u ordered something and applied the code, it gave u a free dvd player(actually the cpn code i might have found on retailmenot.com). well i walked into the store and asked if they can build my order there, and they said yes, but the dvd player code did not work in store. we went online and it worked there, so they looked to see if they could give me the model dvd player, but had none in stock.
so i asked him to credit me the difference of the value of the dvd player, which he did and i picked up the case as well.
you guys gotta learn how to play the system better
*edit* actually playing with the cpn code now, it only gives 30 off instead of the 50 i got. i guess its somewhat of a dead deal compared to the op's post)

Well played good sir
$275 from Craig's List!
I picked up a gTablet from Craig's List for $275 a couple of days ago. Granted, it's used, but it looks brand-new. *And* it comes with a carbon fiber skin, an extra AC adapter (so two of them), and the Malata dock. Sweet!
Ron
If i had a choice between a gtablet, xoom or notion ink adam.. would the gtab be the better bang for the buck?

20 GB FREE Android streaming cloud storage @ Amazon.

This has been popping up elsewhere, and is a pretty sweet deal.
Amazon.com: Buy an MP3 Album, Upgrade to 20 GB of Cloud Drive Storage for Free
* Purchase an MP3 album from the Amazon MP3 Store by 11:59 PM PST on December 31, 2011.
* If you qualify for this offer and either have not signed up for Amazon Cloud Drive or have the 5GB Amazon Cloud Drive plan, you will be automatically eligible for the 20 GB plan for one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase. Unless you set your account to auto-renew to a paid plan, the 20 GB plan will revert to a free plan one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase.
* If your Amazon Cloud Drive account is already at 20 GB or higher when you qualify for this offer, the offer will be saved to your account as a $20 credit toward any future Amazon Cloud Drive plan fees you may incur at the time your plan renews or at the time you upgrade your plan. If you elect to downgrade your plan to a free plan at the time of renewal, your upgrade offer will be applied towards the 20 GB plan at that time.
Btw, if you guys are cheap like me, here's a 69 cent album to get 20 GB for 69 cents:
Amazon.com: Trouty Mouth (Glee Cast)
NOTE: you MUST click "Buy MP3 ALBUM" at the TOP RIGHT, NOT "Buy MP3" in the middle of the page.
Can only stream from this in the US.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Seemed like a great deal to testdrive the new service so I signed up. So far I really like it. We'll see how much I really use it though.

A lot of things I have seen on the internet are US only things. Glad I live in the states. It's not so bad over here lol. Just ignore all the things people say whats bad and just live life as it comes, the states is worth it. Especially with all these US-only things. LOVE IT
"It's not so bad over here?"
Seriously?
Anyway. I like the service, but the player is not very good. I hope it gets more features and become a little more intuitive.
if free storage is the main thing here then i use free 25GB cloud storage without buying anything.
Get Windows Skydrive account which gives you 25GB of storage and download Android App called Sorami from the Market.
it works great on my Sammy Vibrant.
Hope this helps.
i just signed up

This is a random epiphany. I'm not gonna comment on it but you probably won't be reading this news if it's not available in the country.
Anyway, nice find OP.
Great deal. Too bad it is only for the US.
This would be great if the native Cloud Player let you do more then just play music. I want to upload MP4's, MP3's, APK's, Auto sync mobile photo's, etc....

What are the freebies that come with the S7?

Every year I seem to remember they give a bunch. 3-month subscription to some magazine, 100GB of OneDrive space, a game, that kind of stuff.
Couldn't find anything searching.
Or maybe they aren't doing that since they are giving away those VRs.
i've read you get a bunch of free apps and stuff to use with VR, so that's cool.

Well with T-Mobile they are giving the VR and 6 games for it and also a year of Netflix.
Verizon I hear is giving a choice between a VR and a Gear S2.
I'm not sure about the rest though but as you can see it may be slightly different depending on where you get the phone.
Freebies
Scroll down in the article to see what freebies retailers and carriers are offering. In addition to the ones listed Target is offering a $100 Target gift card in addition to the standard Samsung package.
