Thanks for that - i've been waiting for play.com to have a 10% discount which would have only bought the price down to £432(approx).
This is a great price - i only hope they don't say its a mistake as it looks like one (its cheaper than the Diamond which is £363.39).

I've decided to give a WM phone a go again and ordered myself.
To start with I'll just use it with a data sim, to see what its like, as you can't knock a blackberry for staying in touch with IM etc, but Im just so bored of the crap browser experience and lack of software like Live Mesh, which I use one hell of a lot to keep things synced.
I'll use both for a few weeks and see how it goes.

I don't have proof of that - but i do have a receipt, and they did take money out of my account.
Then without my permission carried out a refund transaction. I trying to find out how to contact trading standards but in the mean time i am going to try to reason with sellers.

In a retail store, if a product is tagged as a cheaper price by mistake, then the retailer has to give it at that price.

If Handtec had debited your back account/credit card account, then they had entered into a contract with you to supply that item at that price. Speak to both Trading Standards and Handtec about it and make sure you can demonstrate that they had taken your dosh. All you did is select a product on Handtec's website in good faith and, for their part, it would appear that they too entered into that contract to suppply it, so I suggest they honour it!
EDIT: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk, and they should have an entry in your local phone book. Kent is 0845 7585497 (just in case - good luck!)

Thats not true. Most big stores (such as Tesco) will sell you at the quoted price for the good will. By Law they infact have something like 24 hours to correct the price once notified by a customer, during which time they can sell at a different price than is quoted.

That is really bad!
I thought maybe it had something to do with stock levels, but if it got to the depot, you think they would have realised!

i think it may have to be bought on 11/25 or previous. it doesnt show in my screenshot i think but i remember seeing 11/25 as the rebate expiration

Great timing! I saw the "docking station" rebate on Friday, too. I was bummed because it appeared my local Sears wasn't honoring the sale price of $379 with a free case. Whatever, I was fine with a docking station.
BUT, today I went online to file the rebate and it was gone...so I called the local Sears when I picked up my G-Tab (online purchase but store pickup) and they weren't aware of the docking station rebate. They did say they were sorry I didn't get the $379 deal and free case, but just drop in with my receipt and they'd make it right. That they did...it was a trip out of my way, but 5 minutes well spent.

That is because their site was screwed up on Friday. when I bought mine, it said $379 plus the rebate, when I click on it to the tablet page to add it to cart it changed to $399 with the rebate. I blew it off as there site was screwed up, but the rebate was still there. Then I picked it up not thinking I should have asked them at the store about the rebate.
Finally got home started charging it and when I went online Sat to check the whole rebate thing is was gone? I contacted them through chat they sent me to the rebate site and the rebate was not there? but the price had dropped, I drove in and got the $20 plus tax.
So site showed
$379 11/25
$399 11/26
$379 11/27

Would anyone happen to have the address to mail the rebate to?
I lost the 2nd page of the form...
BTW, the form does say purchases must be made on 11/25/10.

Last day for the rebate was 11/25/2010. I downloaded the form to a Microsoft .xps file since I was out-of-town and had no printer.
But be warned the instructions are so conflicted it's hard to know what to file. For example, whether or not to file the original (which I hate to do) or a copy.
If someone will tell me how to paste in a copy of the file, or will tell me where to send it -- I will provide it so people who may have bought by the 11/25/2010 deadline can file for the rebate.
The rebate has to be mailed by 12/25/2010 if I remember correctly.

You should be able to even edit your original post... once you have the edit window scroll down below it to the 'manage attachments' button in the additional options box and you should be able to add it there... I bought 2 of these before 11/25 so maybe I'm eligible...

According to the rebate form the rebate was only valid for ONE day - 11/25. So if you purchased it before then it won't work.

Well seems a grey area as the only place 11/25 is mentioned is in 'Offer Date'... there is no purchase date range requirement listed in either of the 2 pages so figure it can't hurt to try...

I bought two of the TF101-A1 (16GB version) at Fry's (they had 3 total) and I placed an order at Walmart.com at like 1am, which is supposed to be here tomorrow. I haven't been able to find a docking station anywhere...online or retail.

I managed to snag one of the TD bundles yesterday morning. No luck on any keyboard docks though

You need to be a materialistic individual to be able to stay up all night waiting for the Web sites to post the ASUS Transformer on their site at 3am only to have the entire stock be sold out in 3 minutes. I guess some people do not have jobs. So now you just wait like normal people and wait for the new shipment to arrive. I would recommend you pre order one. This is troublesome to know that this happens when something new is added to the market and people must have it now! In a month you will probably see a lot of them end up on EBay as the next new tablet will arrive and they will all have to have it now!

Ordered mine on BestBuy.com last night between 12:30 and 1 am or so Pacific time, after failing on a number of other sites (missed the mad Amazon dash).
I couldn't actually find the product on BestBuy's site at that time via search but someone had posted a link on the preorder/retail thread that went to the direct order page.. followed the link.. it worked! Added item to cart, chose next day shipping, was expecting to get some sort of out of stock message at some stage of the order process as had happened on a few other sites, but it worked all the way through... Got confirmation email a few minutes later, shipping notice this morning along with a tracking number that UPS now confirms should arrive at my home tmw before 3pm.
Unfortunately the keyboard dock seems to be basically vaporware at this point, and that's a big motivator in why I picked this tablet so I hope I can buy one prior to June but it is difficult to tell if that will be possible since ASUS is doing a horrible, horrible job of communicating actual availability.

I got mine and just finished testing it out. So far this is what it's like:
-The feature to be able to still use the phone be able to lock it during video playback only applies to when you're viewing videos and photos through the gallery app or streaming video through htc's media hub.
-When watching videos saved locally on the device it seems to run totally smooth.
-When streaming, the video is smooth, but the audio quality is off. Whenever someone talks it sounds like they took a lung full of helium. I tried this on netflix, youtube (app and browser), as well as some other video sites.
-The thing that'll probably be a problem for me the most is that during video playback, I experienced popping noises from the audio (both streaming videos from the internet and watching locally stored videos). Hopefully this can fix this with a software update.
Besides those points above, setting up was insanely easy. Just plug it in, push the button to turn on and swipe three fingers up on the phone. That's it!
Edit: Just tested netflix again and now everything is perfectly fine. Sound is perfect with no odd sounding voices and no popping. Totally perfect!

Bought mine on swappa 4 weeks ago, just sended the email to essential so now I'm waiting for their reply, I'll let you know.

I did not. the seller had the phone until this morning. i asked for the IMEI and he said i would get it when it comes in the mail. so basically can't make the request until i get the imei. i have sneaky suspicion that he may have claimed.... he knew all about the promotion when i sent him a message.

I am just going to get another phone.
I don't think I'm going to bother with the charging pad if they release it in time seeing I keep the phone in a case anyway.

Sent out the info for my credit to Essential, and called Best Buy this morning and got them to price match the new price since I was within my return window (the credit has already shown up on my card).
So I got $200 back from Best Buy and will get $200 credit from Essential. Sweet.

How did you get them to do that? I haven't bought one, but if I can get them to knock another $200 off the 499, that'd be dope!

So I filled out the form, is there suppose to be an email confirmation?

No, I originally bought it for $699. Got best buy to price match it back to $499 after the price drop.
