The original SPL is flashed by applying the DREAIMG.nbh (RC29) file. I would recommend wiping, then reapplying the DREAIMG.nbh.

Did you flash the Htc recovery image to get all the apps onto cyanogens rom? Im not sure but that might be the problem.

Yesh I'm sure that could be the problem as well... hmmm, OP, please provide more details if you willsh?

Just go to the OP by cyanogen in his CM rom thread. And follow his guide he linked exactly.
From the steps you listed, it appears once you were rooted, you did not flash the stock or defanged 1.6 rom by HTC before you flashed CM 4.2.13.

Have tried flashing this but it's stuck at the Android. It goes through the update fine followed by the Vodafone splash then sits at the Android.
I am missing something?

I can answer this one
Reboot into the updated recovery utility and select Wipe then you can go straight to update.
nice thank you. (Reboot into the updated recovery utility) you mean just Reboot into recovery mode (HOME+POWER) and then update from sdcard.
1. Copy to sd card as "update.zip"
2. Reboot into recovery mode (HOME+POWER)
3. DO A NANDROID BACKUP (option with ALT+B beside it)
4. Wipe (option that has [ALT+W] beside it)
5. Apply update (option with [ALT+S] beside it)
6. Reboot (HOME+BACK)
Am I right?
Yes that's the one
Home+Power and you will find Reboot, Update, Wipe and Console.
ok thank you very much. would you please tell me any different b/w vodafon and this new rom?
And what about speed?
Original Vodafone: 8/10
Haykuro 6.0r2: 4/10
Google Ion: ?/10
I have the Ion rom on the G1. Myself and others have reported it to be the fastest one yet. 11/10
The Google ION rom is indeed the fastest rom yet. What they did to make it so fast I have no idea but I aint complaining.
I guess i'll be the first to submit a bug with this firmware. I know yall hate me now I notice that now my wifi doesnt work. Prior to this I had the straight from Google ION rom which worked fine with wifi but after this one I am getting an unable to start wifi error. Any ideas anyone?
And btw thanks for being so quick about these things Haykuro. You rock brother!
just installed Google Ion ROM without "wipe".
is definitely quicker, and it close apps much faster then before and wifi is working..
thank to Haykuro for the signed rom

HTC Magic stuck on Rogers splash screen

Hi, So I purchased a rooted HTC magic off craiglist.
It is a HTC sapphire 32A (Rogers HTC Magic) running CursorSense32A-1.2.6.1 ...So it worked fine for a couple of months . Than one day it started rebooting when i put in another rogers sim card ..i took out the sim and put the phone to charge ..
i take a shower and come back but when i open the phone it gets frozen at the first splash/boot screen .. Now i know this phone is not bricked as I can go into BOTH Fastboot mode and what i presume to be recovery mode.
Can some one help me to make this phone functional again? I'm a total noob at this stuff right now..
Oh and Can I just download the official Rogers update and be okay? or would that brick my phone? because of changed spl and radios .. If someone wants i can take pictures/video of the phone in fastboot and recovery mode so they get most information ..
I cant live another day without my phone =(
when you go to recovery what does it say? doest it have wipe options?
You should write down the information visible at the HBoot screen and consider putting into your default signature going forward, just to make it easier.
You haven't yet provided information about which radio, SPL or ROM you're using, so help will have to wait until you do. Include the version names of the last two significant changes you made. I myself have gotten into the Rogers splash screen lock-up scenario after wiping, then changing ROMs and omitting preinstallation of the "DRC83_base_defanged.zip" before ROM and kernel patch reinstallation.
The question of how changing SIM cards might provoke this flash screen lock-up is very interesting, though.
Using the Rogers update is a bit risky. You should consult those threads that have discussion about that particular topic, and tread carefully.
Ok i took some pictures of the recovery and fastboot screens

My SPL is probably SPL 1.76.2007 and radio is 6.35.07.29 OR HIGHER

oh, pic didn't show, lol AR 1.5.2 is a good thing, you have anything you need to save on sd card? or on phone? flash rom again after wiping all in the wipe menu.
and you are certain it will work ? ..Also do i need to flash the same rom or can i just do the official rogers one?
Thanks man you are ignting hope in me!
actually try a re-flash of the rom without a wipe and try and boot
look for the official rooted rom from cursordroid if you wish, both the rom you have and that one are cursordroids
do not use the rogers update whatever you do, never ever....

you dont have to do step one, no apps to sd or ext needed for cursors roms, just put rom on sd, go to recovery, flash from sd, reboot

you already have all the fastboot parts done, just the flash rom part
flash the full rom and then flash the update, no reboot between
you can also flash the apps now too if you like with out reboot, just put all 3 on card and go

ENG bootloader (0.76 needed for CM6) extended fastboot commands.

I took hboot 0.76.2000 from toast's root nand unlock part2 and put it in a new PC36IMG, so that those who installed unrevoked forever can get the extended fastboot commands back.
NOTE: This is only for unrevoked forever users.
Tested to work if flashed from hboot (bootloader)
Not tested in recovery.
NOTE 2: Make a nandroid backup.
Place file on root of sdcard, power off your phone, then power on your phone by holding volume+down and pressing+holding the power button until the white bootloader appears. Press volume up once asked to install the bootloader.
NOTE 3: For those experiencing being stuck in bootloader, you can boot into recovery, flash your current ROM again, (without data wiping) OR just restore a nandroid backup. Flashing a custom kernel will also get you out of the loop. I'm going to go ahead and assume flashing anything other than hboot iwll get you out of the loop.
This will NOT wipe your device, however, backing up is always recommended.
UPDATE: It appears as though everyone is getting stuck in bootloader after this procedure. You can get out of this by reflashing your current ROM (without wiping) and/or restore a nandroid backup. Some have reported errors when trying to restore a nandroid backup. YMMV
Karadorde has put together a package that works. Read his instructions below:
First and foremost it seems that if you get stuck in the Bootloader (no matter what method you are using) then your Nandroid backups are broken. I don't know that anyone has been able to successfully restore from one of those yet.
The file in the OP allows you to apply just the engineering HBOOT.img (hboot_0.76.2000.img) This works flawlessly for some but not so well for others.
The file in Post 71 and Post 91 allows you to apply a full PC36IMG.zip that contains the engineering HBOOT.img (hboot_0.76.2000.img) This is a fix for some who have gotten stuck in the Bootloader after using the file from the OP. At the same time this has also caused the some of the same issues people were having with getting stuck in the Bootloader from the OP. This file will not downgrade any part of your phone, however, it will wipe the phone. Also it is reported that it broke root on one phone. I believe this only happened to one person, need confirmation on if it happened to multiple.
If you get stuck in the Bootloader you can re-flash your Kernel to fix the issue. Not sure if this works with the stock Kernel or if you have to have a custom Kernel. Looking for feedback on this.
If you get stuck in the Bootloader reflash your current rom. Need feedback on this as well.

He's talking about the fastboot commands, the commands you run when you reboot your phone and set your as "fastboot". Here's some commands you've probably seen if you've tried flashing a custom kernel:
Code:
fastboot flash zimage zImage
fastboot reboot

one slight thing I am confused on now with unrevoked forever available.
Is it possible to flash the ENG boot without changing the PRI ?
for example:
- stock 2.1 evo / 1.40 pri
- unrevoked 3 + unrevoked forever
- still on 1.40 pri
- flash ENG boot without 1.34 pri, leaving the 1.40 pri
?

You seem in the know, so I'm asking you... I ran unrevoked forever, it said it was successful, but my HBOOT stayed as ENG HBOOT .76. Is that correct or did I screw up unrevoked somehow?
Thanks for this. I flashed the wrong damned pc36img.zip (thought I was flashing the one that had rooted 1.47) to get back to a sense rom from cm6 to do the pri hackery and had upgraded hboot.
Now that my pri's fixed I'd rather have S-OFF and the engineering hboot than sit here and reset my phone another 20ish times to get 1.40 pri back after re-flashing the engineering image!

[UPDATED] [32A] Link to the official Rogers 2.1 Magic Update - OTA, RUU and img files

Hey!
The link to the FOTA file is
http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Sapphire_...3.05.631.7_release_signedu2j8pjou0wsg6p6q.zip
Multiupload link http://www.multiupload.com/VLR1WRILII
You can get the RUU at http://www.multiupload.com/MG55E61MH1
And system, radio, boot and data img files (to flash from fastboot without getting a perfected SPL) are at http://dlf.transfer.ro/ruu_2.1-transfer_RO-08sep-5f012a.rar
I've checked out the update-script and the contents of the zip and...
1. It flashes a new radio - 6.35.16.19.
2. As klothius said, it needs the official 1.5 SenseUI Rogers update and the stock recovery that came with it - otherwise the MD5 verification will fail and the update will halt.
3. New kernel and new recovery. If you have an engineering SPL you can flash your favorite recovery right back after the update.
I'll probably add to this as I find out more
Can i flash this through recovery or is it a RUU? and if i can flash, i need Hero recovery new radio and spl on my 32a (also if it isn't by rogers)?
Just root it with universalandroot!
This rocks! Finally!!
@MARCO310791: I can't say, I haven't tried it yet. It looks like a stock update zip, like the ones you flash in recovery, so it might work. It works by patching the files in the official Rogers release, so it might not work on other ROMs without modification.
From what I've seen in the update-script, it doesn't touch the data partition (except a few of the files that the 1.5 update created there).
WARNING! It installs a new radio - 6.35.16.19.
Does it install new spl?
Nope, SPL is untouched.
It does, however, flash a new recovery, which means you'll need to flash a modded recovery from fastboot when it's done.
Well if that's true, we'll have root even after flashing this...although you must have a rogers rom already installed and you must have a rogers htc original stock recovery installed too.
working on it as we speak

[Q] CM7 to Stock 2.3.4

Hey,
I'm new to Android, and still pretty bad with it, so when I set out to flash a custom rom last week, I never bothered to setup a backup. I didn't think it was going to be as complicated to get back to the way it was when I took it out of the box. I guess I'm still use to the iPhone. Now, I'm not completely happy with my phone and am looking to go back to stock.
I've looked in to it, and it seems easy enough, but I just have a couple of questions:
Pre-CM7 I'm pretty sure my phone was GRI54, and i9020, It's now GRI40. Does this make any difference?
And, finally, where can I download an official version of this?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

Sorry? I have to delete the files to keep clockwork from being removed?
All I did was flash it, restart, and clockwork was still there.
Also, my phone's internet speeds seem really slow now. Could this be from now having a different build? (GRI54 -> GRJ22)
Sorry for my complete lack of knowledge. It's quite obvious I jumped into something that's much over my head.

A stock rom has the script. So flashing it will also restore stock recovery. If the rom you installed does not restore the recovery partition, the the rom was not completely stock.

I've never used it myself.
Looking over the zip file, the script has been renamed, so it's not 100% stock.
Normally you would need to root the phone to change the file name.
Perhaps renaming the file in the zip will correct the issue?
try renaming /etc/install-recovery.sh.bak to /etc/install-recovery.sh and re-apply the zip. ( no need to wipe )
That rom was posted by dsixda, he may be able to confirm what needs to be done.
If you had root, it would be fairly easy to rename it.

That was my upload, but is it confirmed that the radio in this one gets flashed to AUCKD2? I uploaded another one with the same radio but slightly different.

This doesn't seem to work. It does gets you back to stock rom but I still have the old modem I flashed, old APN, CWM Recovery and still there and factory reset doesn't works. Just hangs with the little Android guy and an exclamation mark.
Is there something like ODIN for Nexus S to go back to stock?

This should work:
http://android.grdlock.net/index.ph... S&PHPSESSID=9dc0c107b878587d1e0b21ec1e3130ef
This should bring you to stock 2.3.3 for the i9020a
Then apply the official patch:
http://android.clients.google.com/p...5b.signed-sojua-GRJ22-from-GRI54.286d814d.zip
This will then bring everything to stock 2.3.4 with proper baseband and recovery
