Keyboard Typing Slow

Im having a problem.. my keyboard is being realllyyy slow.. i can finish typing a whole sentence of 10 words and it will only be on the second word and loading the rest. Im using Dutty's newest rom.. any way to fix this?

You didn't read the first couple of posts in the Dutty thread. You didn't post this in the thread on that ROM...which is where this belongs. You didn't read the Wiki page on Dutty's ROMs and you didn't search the thread for the answer. Now you have forced me into it. I have to go kick a bunch of puppies. I have to shave a few kittens and throw them in that big pool of water. And it's all because you didn't do any of these things that follow forum etiquette and would have answered your question because it's been addressed many dozens of times before. I cannot take the blame for the punishment of those cute furry animals. This is all because of your post. All you had to do was check the wiki to see that you need to install the Disable XT9 cab file to fix this. But no...you wanted me to punish the puppies and kittens.

Then the next thing to try from the discussions that have been had on this would be to change your autocomplete settings to suggest fewer words or turn autocomplete off depending on your preference. In the future, however, please keep questions related to a specific ROM in that ROM's thread. You will get help faster that way and you won't get smacked about with a large trout whilst being flamed.

Firstly, please learn how to type coherently. Secondly, your post has nothing to do with this thread and offers nothing useful to this thread. Thirdly, personal attacks are not wanted or needed and are, in fact, in poor taste and show that you have a high level of immaturity. Fourthly, nothing in my reply had anything to do with what "rom" is coolest. Fifthly, you obviously missed the point of humor in the reply.
And for the record, typing things like "dat" and "den" and using phrases including both "yo" and "homes" only makes you look like a 12 year old attempting and failing at looking hip and cool. I agree with jarek091, and wonder WTH you are trying to accomplish here - you are not contributing anything useful, and your incredibly poor 'grammar / street talk / whatever the hell it is' is incredibly annoying. By your own admission you have a maturity level of 12, so why don't you go find a forum where that is appropriate, like maybe MySpace?

Anyone able to flash a working US/ATT 3G rom

Has anyone been succesfuly at flashing a working US/ATT 3G rom on these released Euro HTC Touch Pro's coming out this week? or do we know if that is not possible because of the hardware? Thanks for helping out a newbie that's anxious to lose a Moto Q9h and pickup an ATT 3G compatible Touch Pro (not willing to buy the crippled ATT Fuze).

Please stop yelling at everyone for not searching. It is far more useful to simply point out that the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, and remind the users of forum policies. I only caution you because if you don't settle down you're gonna end up earning yourself a trip to bannville (note, just word of caution not an official warning as i am nobody of significance here), and you don't want to cut off your best source of information for your device

First of all, that's not even English you just spoke. Second, it's not my arrogance but my pure frustration, I can promise you I never double posted like that when I first came here (not too long ago). Having 10 threads like that floating around is going to be the end of us, as it will someday be impossible to find any useful information in the plethora of repetitiveness. I surely couldn't be a mod, deleting 10 posts just like that every day... Why do we have this google search function and stickies in every forum saying to use it, when nobody does? What a waste.

Please read the post directly above you. Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't be offensive just because you were offended by someone else. Black, Everyone is VERY excited about this device and the posibility of it being flashed with the at&t rom so the US gents can get the 3g also. We all want touch pro's with 3g in the states like you so we can all live in harmony!
Hey, did yours come with a case? Wondering what the US version will come with. I bet it will be like the at&t version of the tilt and NOT include a case. Has anyone seen the case the HTC provides? I looks like garbage! I can't even beleive that HTC would release such a great device with such a poor case.

LOL, I did have an order on the touch pro but cancelled it. Now that all the reviews are coming in and the youtube's, my fingers are iching to hit the purchase key again! I have a good feeling about the hard spl and the at&t rom flashing. I hope it does work to enable 3g for all our sakes!

I have to agree. Although i also agree with Black. I'm actually one of those waiting for this hardspl release and a confirmation of 3g in the US and see 10 posts a day. I don't get that excited about it though :-D I just love to see so much excitement for this phone.

SIM Cardless Optimization

I'm an early adopter of the N1. My G1 will now only have wifi connectivity and I am wondering if there are any roms that are optimized for non-phone use. I think the desire for that kind of optimization will only grow as people start replacing their first loves. I might be completely off-base, I have been up for a couple days. I'm not even sure what I want when I say optimization. But I didn't know what I wanted from custom roms when I got my first G1 and now I can't wait until Cyanogen drops his first full rom for the N1.

I see where you are comming from.. as I LOVE my G1 and at the same time lusting for the N1. I would like to have another use for the G1, something like a media center remote.. or anything.
I think this is a good idea and look forward to some of the dev responses.

You dont need a special rom for it without service. If you dont have service then phone and the like just wont work. Uninstall what you dont want. But there arent going to be any devs making roms just for g1 without service, it is a complete waste of time. There wouldnt be anything different, minus no phone.

i dont really see the point of that tbh - you can change the call button to open something else for example

If the device no longer needs to maintain the functionality of a phone, the door is even wider open. It could, for example, be a rom with debian cooked in, or it could be something like no6969el described.

they answer is simple - yes...but pointless
i am far from close minded - i am always up for expanding the capabilities of my phone....not detracting from them like this idea
you can use the phone as a media centre remote with the aid of a simple app on the market
you can disable mobile data and use only wifi
you can reprogram the call button to do whatever you want
you can install debian/ubuntu rather easily and use it with vncviewer
all these things can already be done using stock android - nevermind having to modify it

Nothing I have said or asked has detracted from android. Asking questions has its place in development, it causes thinking. Re-purposing old gen hardware happens, sometimes with fantastic results. First generation android devices, like the G1, have many possibilities other than telephony.

I am wondering if there are any roms that are optimized for non-phone use.

Not that I know of but I can make one tonight.

Most of those options are available in the rotary thread. They don't work well as zips as you'll change things you don't want to, so they are meta morphs instead.

all of the options i asked about are NOT available, or else I wouldn't have asked. There is a no text PERIOD option, to remove carrier, clock and etc. I want the clock and the charging text, alarm etc. I just dont want the "SPRINT" on there.

The only option not available listed is the inclusion of "Sprint" for the text (i.e. no text is removed), all others are indeed available.
If none of them meet your needs, I suggest you go ahead and create the mod yourself.

Ok so "I" am the one with attitude, because I am pointing out that you are telling me something is available here when it's not, and that you are flaunting the fact that you could create it but now you won't because "I" have attitude.
I simply came here to ask if the version existed and I get told that what I was asking for already exists, so I guess I am too stupid to find it.
And now since I seemed to have offended a delicate mod creator, the rest are going to come out and flaunt the fact that they won't make it either. I am not asking you to make it, did I ask you to make it all? No I simply asked if it was out there yet.

Seems to me like the answer has been provided;
Wait for someone to do the mod and make it available
Examine existing mods and see how they can be made to work for your needs
Spend some additional time to learn how to do the mods you require
Additionally, keep in mind that XDA is a forum where enthusiasts come to obtain additional information while they are in the process of mod'ing something they want. A little professional courtesy goes a long way when seeking assistance from others.

a new keyboard

i was looking though the touch wiz sys dump and i liked the keyboard so i put it in an update format. Just flash it, i gurantee youll like it. If not just remove it. I included the lwp as well that were posted earlier the lwp from it too, they work great on the phone though, I need someone to test it for me, cus swype is a pain to remove w/o wiping, and i already have all this on my phone. you just need to flash it like a rom. It contains 4lwp and 1keyboard app and their libs...dl the new lwp and kb HERE ​

Any chance of just getting the KB?

no time, sorry. you can rip them out and just install though, just make sure you take the lib files that go with them in your libs folder and the apps in your sys/app or data/app folder.

thanks for testing it and the quick feedback. i stated that it included the lwps in the op. they are from the new touch wiz dump. Ill check to see whats up with swype, just figured id throw it out there for those that didnt see this stuff yet....also, did you remove your old swype completely? or did you not have it? cus its VERY hard to get rid of.....just wondering so i can fix if something wrong.

sorry about that, and thanks.ok, soon as i get home ill post a link to a really sweet htc skinned swype mod. i use the red one in my newest rom, but the green one is slick too. im going to hang out for a little bit, when i get back ill put it up, and just take it out of the other one and ill mess with it, since its a full version.....

I strongly recommend that if you want to be taken seriously, you put a little more thought into your release posts. I applaud you for taking the time to share with the community, but frivolous posting of root-level patches without some form of quality control on your part could lead to a dangerous precedent of buggy and/or malicious code being introduced in the same channels.
I know you probably have the communities best interest at heart, but holding yourself to a higher standard keeps the bar high for the rest of those issuing releases to demonstrate an aptitude for solid documentation so people know precisely what to expect from dedicated contributors.

Do you really think i need YOU or ANYONE else to take ME seriously? my work speaks for itself, i could care less what you think of me, but just dont be disrespectful or snotty about it when you obviously have no clue as to what i do, if you say " which really they can't do easily" when you are speaking about removing a single app.I take it youve never been to dev? cus thats what ive been doing for the past 3 days, is working on my last rom. Then when i finish something that takes more than a day i take a break. I am not a developer nor have i ever claimed to be one.i have many contributions to the site,and taken a **** ton of time making sure my theads for them are maintained and everything i work on i support. Not a blind leap of faith, i have many pps that ASK to test for me because i dont have time to when im working. I have a 8mo old and fiance to take care of as well, this cannot be my ENTIRE life(though i might enjoy that)ive been asked permission to port 4 of my roms to other devices, and about 100 pps i talk to on a regular basis,you can talk to that will tell you another story about what I can DO. ? is what can YOU do? and WHY would you be ragging on someone who makes regular contributions to the site to help members enjoy their newest hardware just a little bit more? you want to see more go to hero-cdma and tell me some more about quality control. Thanks for this magnusragnarok! Any chance you could try to get an update zip with the t9 ime in the i9000 dump? I'm curious to see how the Sammy virtual keyboard looks. Also, that guy apparently doesn't realize how big of an asset you've been to the hero and evo communities. Keep up the great work!

lemme check that out. i completely overlooked it. pretty sure i can. i can use all the practice i can get, i just have to rm it from the dump and find the libs that go with it, should be just like ours though. Ill pm you once i get it, then ill put it up if anyone else wants it. You have any screenies? just wondering what im workin for

SERIOUSLY, why whould you make it 2wice as bad by requoting the entire post in ITALICS? GOOD JOB. PLEASE try to remain on topic, this is a thread about a kb and the touch wiz lwp i put together in one update for everyones convenience, not about my choice of font and color. If we were not allowed the choice we would not have it available to us.

If you took a moment to actually absorb what I posted, you would recognize I did not besmirch your contributions, but was offering a point of constructive criticism.
Regardless of the quality or lack thereof of your "releases", your posts are plagued with you getting into flame wars with people because you feel like you have to defend yourself against any form of critique you don't agree with.
But hey, if you have five people who think your work is on par with some of those that I have donated to, by all means cater to that denominator. I'll gladly keep my feedback to myself and save it for someone who can handle dialogue with a little more class.
PS: Geocities is dead. You should let the single-paragraph-don't-have-time-to-run-auto-spellcheck-let's-use-teal-this-time-on-large-comic-sans-font-smash-your-forehead-on-the-keyboard-to-select-punctation diatribes die with it.
