Hi, exist something about porting of NintendoDS on Android?
With touch-screen will as have an real NintendoDS on hands
I doubt this, as DS emulators on PC are still very slow, nevermind a handheld.
Check out the gba emulator in the market and see how slow it is.
Ok, Understood.
I would buy the gba emulator, but in Italy, google haven't again issued the market to pay... :'(
Is a really sin...
god damn it
there is NO GBA emulator on the market! only an ****ing slow gbc one !
Let's try to focus on getting things like SNES(or hell, even NES) working completely before we try for the DS, mkay?
Well it is possible to get MAME (gameboy, nintendo, etc.. maybe even ps1) running ..
the arcade emulator is based on FBA which is based on MESS (just a guess, i dont know that4sure) and MESS is similar to MAME .. ^^
The DS utilizes a pressure sensitive screen while the Android uses a Compacitive(sp?) screen. I'm not sure how well this could be adapted to work for DS emulation.
Also, the G1 has 1 screen while a DS has 2....

Well but's that really no problem ..
G1 screen resolution is 320*480 while both NDS screen are 256 x 192 pixels
As u can calculae there would be still 64pixel vertical and 96pixel horizontal left ^^
yea but imagine how much time it would take to port and figure out.. then think about how NOT fun any emulator is to play on a phone when it stutters and stuff.. i mean the nintendo one didnt work good untill I clocked the phone to max.
Can a TMobile US user please kindly extract the cabs for the new games you have preinstalled on your phone to make up for us non US owners who have less memory than you.
What games do they get?

Grrreat... pm me if u like... i'm going to get some sleep now...
Those games aren't free and they're not fantastic either.
Ferrari Evolution is too fast on the HD2, can hardly control it...graphics aren't WVGA either so it's not fantastic.
GH5 is OK but it's slow and jerky...At first i thought it was my phone but after watching videos of it on youtube, alomost every OS it was made for is jerky and hard to play...only the Android one was smooth....DATA is also a requirement to play it...i never played it again...it came with my HD2 also...but it's too horrible to play...
Thanks for the info peaceboy. Good to know.
tmobile hd2 is as smooth as silk

tmo hd2 with its supersized rom and expanded ram is the best phone out there. it kills all the iphones they cant even multitask.android runs programs without your permission so your phones ram is full after just an hour or so without you even using it and the android email sucks compared to windows mobile--android cant run but a few video formats--winmo can play anything.
guitar hero 5played smooth all the way on the hd2. my cliq(android) hangs up if you try to do anything. i hope motorola ends up upgrading it to android 2.1 so i can at least get turn by turn. motorola has really let people down.
hd2 is windows mobile at its best. you can make it just right for you.
I wouldnt post guitar hero here if it is the full game, that might cound as Warez
Games and Apps
You can get most of these and other games and apps here
Please send Ferrari GT evolution v2.4.0
More nice games please... Thank you.
still searching for the tetris game on the US HD2... or a link to the manufacturers site would be nice too
I will be getting an HD2 tomorrow (hopefully) and have been doing research about alot of different things for it... one thing is games - I have seen alot of games and none of them seem to be using the specs of the HD2 very well.... I would expect a phone like this to be able to have some very nice games, I understand it is quite new and maybe there aren't any out yet...but could you please let me know what is out there so far? I have only seen things like xtkart (I believe that is how it is spelled) and the ps1 emulator... so I was wondering what you guys have or what else is out there that is in accordance with my recommendation ?
Thanks in advance!
XTRAKT, Experiment 13 and Electopia demo are by far the best games for hd2! avatar, asphalt 4 and nfs undercover are great too!
man.. its just that i'm not interested in racing games...
i wouldn't mind some good ol tetris.. but with nice visuals that take advantage of the hd2 specs...

Dear all smart guys,
I am also wondering whether we can have those shooting game.. displaying in gameloft.com..............and which can be played in our super machine HD2...
games for HD2
Search for freewarepoketpc, and look for experiment 13
Ferrari GT2 Revolution looks BOMB on HD2. MiniGolf Wacky World looks also nice
the ferrari game runs 'terribly' on the US HD2.....they should be embarrassed....constant lag and slowdown. :O(
so basically to answer your question... there are none....... yet... don't lose hope... things will turn as soon as 7 comes out
yeah im not sure there are any games that fully take advantage of the hd2 hardware.
thats not to say that there arent any good games because there are PLENTY!

On my German HD2 with stock ROM it works brilliantly without any freezes etc.
@ Topic: You have to keep in mind that it is a Windows Phone. If you wanna have a phone for playing only then you have to buy an iPhone or sth. like that. Nevertheless I got more than 20 brilliant HD2 games that brought me hours of fun during long train trips.
wow, i wonder why the one on the us hd2 runs so poorly.........it stutters sooooo badly that it's barely playable......i didn't buy this phone to play games but since they were included i certainly checked them out, that's why i'm so shocked that they included a game that runs like crap, lol, not a good advertisement!
the graphics suck on that game too, not up to the HD2 par in my opinion...the game market for this phone is disappointing! =\..
By the time Windows 7 comes out you said ? Yeah, but the HD2 would still be stuck on windows 6, remember ?....I wonder if the games will be comaptible though? or If someone will come up with a perfected windows 7 rom for the HD2 ? Or at least a perfected android rom... then maybe we will have some decent games ? Otherwise I hope the developers are working on some great games otherwise the hardware will be going to waste for the most part...
I would take a look over at pda4you.org, if i was you guys..
Its out psx4droid zodttd finished it works great... FF VIII running smooth except theres no sound in ingame movies.... but i know them by heart so no problem form me glad i can replay FF VII to IX now
Its out on the market and various other sites....

Wow you've got me all excited... except how did you get it to work... on the site it says Android 2.xxxx
Let me know how you got it to function... I'm so there Front Mission here i come!
it just did... it didn't complain at all about android version....
didn't do anything special...
PS: dont forget to get a psx bios dump on the sd card... 1001 will do fine...
Sweet thanks for the heads up... i'm off to give it a try
converting the iso to compreased eboot(psp psx image file) file with icetea seams to help with the speed a little and smaller files from a 700mb iso to a 500mb eboot maximum compression
icetea here > http://sourceforge.net/projects/icetea/
All the emulators are a pain since theres no MT. x_x
here we go MT again..... its playeble i came from resistive touch so no problem here....

It works really well - set the refresh rate to 30 or 40, and games should be smoother.
Also, I'd recommend that you use a wiimote and nunchuck to play games on it, if you have them!
MT is not an issue for many games, since you can use the hardware buttons of the xperia, just configure them so it's easy to play the game, of course you'll have trouble playing street fighter but rpgs are fine!
Has anyone tried any psp eboots? Out of curiosity...?

didnt you see here? :| ... works great....
Tried bloody roar 2 eboot ..result on my X10 was laggy and stuttery even on highest frame rate
Mortal Kombat 4 and FF IX work nearly perfectly. Sound is a bit laggy fo sho, and FF IX got some strange artifacts on bottom. But all in all both run smooth with Wiimote + Nunchuk.

Why can't people gripe about this? It's stupid that there's no MT!!
Thankfully you can play most RPGs but it's still extremely prohibitive. I've encountered parts in games that I can't pass simply because there's no MT!!

agreed, so it does restrict some of hte classics from being played to their full potential like Metal gear solid or platforming games in general, which require u to jump while moving forward. also any kart or racing game like gran turismo! so i agree with the gripe .
sony better surprise us with MT by the time 2.1 comes out otherwise im going to move to a dell streak
nvm, found out myself.
Get a psp if you want mt
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
^^...
psp doesnt score a touch screen.....no MT there too...
anyways,
i think games should be playable on x10 by configuring the hardware buttons..will give it a try soon..
works pretty good,
have had some issues playing GT2-sim eboot
got to get more to try.
If someone could post a idiots guide to using this and using the ROMS/isos that would be great.
hi guys
it's long time that haven't see any update for "tiger nds " and " nds4droid "

I think you can kiss that dream goodbye. The play isn't strong enough to emulate a nintendo DS. plus, nintendo ds has dual screen. How did you intend to play that on your phone?
common sense please.
the play has much bigger chance of emulating Psp/GCube than NDS...that Dual Screen kills it e-zly
the play is strong enogh. The NDS is not more powerfull thzan the n64 and it is more easy to emulate becouse the ds has an ARM processor.
The NDS shouldn't be a big thing to emulate... But nintendo can get hostile towards much development on a console whose games are still in the market.
Bleem is the paramount case.

Yeah but still, how about the dual screens?
Im sure the play has enough screen space to accomodate 2 screens, also its touch screen which helps.
Havent looked into ds emulation for a long time, but the main problems were with a lack of gyroscope and microphone (all of which the play has). Am I missing something though? Why couldnt the play emulate both screens?

Dual screens isn't that hard to overcome. Display them side by side. Done. That's how I run the ds emulator for pc.

Thing is, the Playstation and its games were still selling well at the time.
Well of course you CAN do dual display on a single display, i'm not an idiot. But what I mean is that the screens will be pretty small, which i think would suck.. That's why i think the NDS emulator for the play is a pointless idea.
The only good solution i can come up with is if you could switch between the screens somehow. YOu have one screen at the time, in fullscreen mode. Then with the press of a button jump to the other screen.
I haven't played the Nintendo DS that much, so i don't know if you really need both screens at the same time at all time.

just look at old psp !
the cpu was poor , but all of us have seen that how Sony made big games with best possible and fantastic resolution on that. " like god of war - resistance ..."
i think our xperia play is strong enough to support NDS .

NDS cpu - WIKIPEDIA :
CPU: Two ARM processors
* 32 bit ARM946E-S main CPU; 67 MHz clock speed. Processes gameplay mechanisms and video rendering.

when psx released , on first step was something like current ver. of "tiger NDS " or " NDS4droid "
very slow ...
i think we can hope to improve that emulators. there are so many beauty games on NDS that worth to try for . ps1 games are good , but is better to play it on widescreen , home theater , ...
but NDS games are specially for little screen , 4 inc
i'm , personally eager to see and buy a prefect emulator for NDS .
i've send mail to tigerNDS developer and request him to keep on nice try .
please guys ,
let's do it together
The kyocera echo would be the best for NDS emulation XD

what you have to keep in mind is that you need almost 12x the power of the **** you're trying to emulate. So if you are gonna emulate a n64, you need a computer with 12x much power.
and you mix up emulate and port. I think you can port really good quality games from lets say PSP to xperia play. But i don't think you can emulate it.

The 12x the power thing is debatable but is besides the point.
We do not need to emulate everything. The play already has the an arm processor. no need to emulate one of those. that saves us a lot of the processing power to emulate other things.

The N64 sports a 74mhz processor, faster than the NDS' 67mhz ARM. Since the Play emulates the n64 just fine there's no technical limitation in this respect.
Not to mention there's no consistent formula for judging the power needed for emulation.
There's no real reason you shouldn't be able to emulate the DS on our phones. Just not everyone will enjoy it. Me, I have a 3ds if I want to play the games, so I don't really care about the emulator either way

as i said before, i haven't played the NDS, so i don't know it's power. I thought it was better then Nintendo 64, but i guess i was wrong.
All that talk about 12x much power. That's just what i've learned from this forum reading the threads in the developers section.
The reason i'm not interested in a NDS emulator is the lack of a good solution for the dual screen.

The whole 12x more powerful thing is a bit iffy, the PSP is not 12x more powerful in specs than the N64 but it emulates it perfectly...
