Request: Best Game(s) that take the most advantage of HD2 hardware...? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I will be getting an HD2 tomorrow (hopefully) and have been doing research about alot of different things for it... one thing is games - I have seen alot of games and none of them seem to be using the specs of the HD2 very well.... I would expect a phone like this to be able to have some very nice games, I understand it is quite new and maybe there aren't any out yet...but could you please let me know what is out there so far? I have only seen things like xtkart (I believe that is how it is spelled) and the ps1 emulator... so I was wondering what you guys have or what else is out there that is in accordance with my recommendation ?
Thanks in advance!

XTRAKT, Experiment 13 and Electopia demo are by far the best games for hd2! avatar, asphalt 4 and nfs undercover are great too!

man.. its just that i'm not interested in racing games...
i wouldn't mind some good ol tetris.. but with nice visuals that take advantage of the hd2 specs...

You might want to check FPSEce out, a PSX emulator for the HD2 which works very well...

Shooting Game
Dear all smart guys,
I am also wondering whether we can have those shooting game.. displaying in gameloft.com..............and which can be played in our super machine HD2...

games for HD2
Search for freewarepoketpc, and look for experiment 13

Ferrari GT2 Revolution looks BOMB on HD2. MiniGolf Wacky World looks also nice

the ferrari game runs 'terribly' on the US HD2.....they should be embarrassed....constant lag and slowdown. :O(

so basically to answer your question... there are none....... yet... don't lose hope... things will turn as soon as 7 comes out

yeah im not sure there are any games that fully take advantage of the hd2 hardware.
thats not to say that there arent any good games because there are PLENTY!

On my German HD2 with stock ROM it works brilliantly without any freezes etc.
@ Topic: You have to keep in mind that it is a Windows Phone. If you wanna have a phone for playing only then you have to buy an iPhone or sth. like that. Nevertheless I got more than 20 brilliant HD2 games that brought me hours of fun during long train trips.

wow, i wonder why the one on the us hd2 runs so poorly.........it stutters sooooo badly that it's barely playable......i didn't buy this phone to play games but since they were included i certainly checked them out, that's why i'm so shocked that they included a game that runs like crap, lol, not a good advertisement!

the graphics suck on that game too, not up to the HD2 par in my opinion...the game market for this phone is disappointing! =\..
By the time Windows 7 comes out you said ? Yeah, but the HD2 would still be stuck on windows 6, remember ?....I wonder if the games will be comaptible though? or If someone will come up with a perfected windows 7 rom for the HD2 ? Or at least a perfected android rom... then maybe we will have some decent games ? Otherwise I hope the developers are working on some great games otherwise the hardware will be going to waste for the most part...

I would take a look over at pda4you.org, if i was you guys..

PEGGLE finally come to WINDOWS MOBILE.

i have found peggle for win mob here: http://store.handmark.com/p/118000/Windows-Mobile-Smartphone/Peggle-for-Windows-Mobile-Smartphone/
yet i cannot find it listed at http://www.popcap.com/games/peggle?mid=peggle_pc_en_full
Do you think this is legitimate and/or an offical release from popcap??
been wanting peggle on windows mobile for ever!
it is on their website but there is no free trial. you have to buy it.
I cant see it on there - if it were there would be a PDA/Smartphone tab - the "mobile" one is for non-wm stuff - tis the java one
ima buy it anyway -i'll tell ya'll what its like
well this is the worst game ever 4 - its a cheap port of the jaza version - the graphics suck and loks awful - the game is laggy and doesnt run well at all - the physics suck - its really disapointing - also the game doesnt calibrate to the touch screen it will be far to the left where ever you tap - it really is simply a cheap port of the java version

wow thanks for trying out first. i like it the pc version so much. good thing you told me.
wasnt even made by popcap -.- - it was made by "winplay" - emailed them about it but they never replied - really awful port
Are we looking at the same game?
I'm playing Peggle made by Winplay for Popcap (winplay is the same outfit that made the Windows Mobile version of Guitar Hero III, Bejeweled, etc) and it is not laggy at all on my Kaiser. Graphics and speed are great and I'm quite addicted.
So, if you have a phone with decent speed and memory give it a try.

I bought this peggle originally for my Wizard, but it seemed quite sluggish on it too even when overclocked. Now i shot this video of it running on my Diamond.
This video is mostly done because the lack of a demo-version to warn people about the possible slowness. I hope that it helps.

First person shooter for Leo

Hey,
does anyone know whether there's a first person shooter for the HTC HD2? I've seen one once on the Iphone and I figured, if the Iphone can do it, surely the Leo can do so as well!
Or... does anyone know another really good game for the HTC HD2, i tried a couple so far, but they all were quite disappointing...
Cheers
theres call of duty and doom and whatnot, just not specifically for a hd2.
I personally am pretty fond of this game i bought called 'cops and robbers', really, all u do is press 3 (or just 1) buttons, but its nicely old school, time the presses or the cops get u, bscly.
Im also very eager for FPSEce 0.10, wich will be out soon, its a psx emulator, and 0.10 version is aimed at snapdragon&widescreen devices www.fpsece.net

Well, they all need a joystick/dpad and sometimes other buttons as well (such as Enter), so few of them are playable on HD2.

Any ideas when? I waited for 9 months with my Omnia when they said 0.10 was out and nothing got released!!
Just saw a video on youtube of new multiplayer FPS on iphone, looks like quake 3 engine.
Makes me wonder if I did the right decision by buying hd2 :-/
I can only hope that someone will give a damn about windows mobile and port some games over.
I'd like to port Zombie Mansion to the HD2. I have a win mobile version working already with improved weapons.
But I need to get proper multitouch support or it would be completely unplayable.

Does anyone know who is making games for wm 6.5...Tell them to make some 1st person shooters or third person like they do for android. If some **** samsung with 600mhz processor can play those good games then hd2 with 1ghz can do it too
They are not fps, but I enjoyed palm heroes, Viking saga, deer hunter, everquest,Final fantasy. Space trader was a laugh. I try keep fps games off my hd2. I'm too heavy fingered.

[Discussion] Is a nintendo 64 emulator possible for this phone?

Hey,
Before I get started, I just want to stop all flamers - I have searched and I couldn't find anything for this specific phone.
The specs for the nintendo 64 is a 93.75mhz processor and a 62.5mhz GPU -and people who like to call themselves "educated" in this area say that you need 10x the power to emulate something - and I reckon the HD2 has the power to do it. What do you think?
I think it would be great if this was possible, and just like the fpsece - people would donate to have this ability as we all love the goldeneye on the n64, and to be able to play that on the go would be amazing.
Thanks,

OMG good idea zelda - Ocarina of time all over again..
Love the idea and hope there is a supreme programmer around who loves the idea too..
re
it is a really nice idea, but after all a dream i guess...
remember there where some N64 emulators out, but most of them took years until the could
emulate the standard games like mario kart, mario 64 and some others, there are still many games wich dont run on the emus. The next Problem is the controller...
Perfect 64 is a great N64 emu for PCs, so it has been done well already on other platforms...
I'm going to bump this thread up a bit so it gets some attention. I would also love a n64 emulator for the htc hd2! Would be so awesome to play zelda on my phone! And I agree , I and many others would donate for such a thing.
I know some people have been working on an emulator for the iphone and this phone is much more powerful than the iphone.
You read my mind... N64 on this phone would look awesome!!! we got some genius developers out there. crossing my fingers and praying they listen...
I'd happily part cash for it!
And a FinalBurn emulator, damn my lack of programming knowledge! Where does one begin to learn such technical wizardry?!
Even if we have an emulator for N64, it will be very difficult to play games due to too many buttons for control in N64. And HD2 is not really multitouch, am I right?

Um no you are wrong . Hd2 got multitouch. And a nice button layout combined with the big screen would make it possible to play games pretty good. Atleast slow-paced games would be possible to play without much problem.
Goldeneye oder Perfect Dark on the HD2 would be magnificent!!!
the source code for project 64 is available,
http://www.pj64-emu.com/downloads/
so in theory it is possible.
Ye there are also other open-source n64 emulators out there.
Like:
1964: 1964emu.emulation64.com
Another emulator for the PC
Daedalus: sourceforge.net/projects/daedalus-n64/
Which was the first emulator to emulate n64 on the psp.
DaedalusX64: sourceforge.net/projects/daedalusx64/
Which is a continuation of the original daedalus on the psp. This is the one that currently is the best for n64 emulation on psp.
And all these are open-source. So it should be very possible, I think, to use one of these codes to write an emulator for the HTC HD2. Don't shoot me down now if I'm wrong, I'm just a noob when it comes to programing.
I wish I myself could help getting a project like this started but I know nothing about programing.
What we need are some good and dedicated programmers willing to give this a go.

I think Im not.
Multitouch on HD2 is not like iphone. HD2 only support multitouch for a couple of programs. It will be really difficult to build a n64 emulator, for action games like Zelda play smoothly with multitouch. I completed Zelda by Project64 on PC before.
Did u try emulator like Morphgear, or FpseCE? I had the supporter version of these two, multitouch really does not working so well, still some bugs and problems
No I haven't tried those emulators yet. But even though the multitouch isn't perfect it's playable, from what I understand, and they are both works in progress aren't they? You can at least play it fine if you use a bluethooth controller.
And I can't say anything about how difficult it is to build a program that supports multitouch , since I know nothing about it, but didn't the multitouch version of these emulators come out rather quickly after the hd2 was released? At least it isn't impossible to build a emulator with decent multitouch support.
We just need to get the ball rolling!

Multitouch works very well on both FPSECE and MorphGear. The only reason it isn't very good on MorphGear from the beginning, is because the standard pad sucks HD2 has a capacitive screen, and therefore it is able to use multitouch just like any other multitouch phone (iphone etc), it just requires the programmer to write the program with multitouch support, by using the code from HTC
And a N64 emulator would be awesome
What about games like Ogre Battle though? Underlying point being there are still some worthwhile games that will work well despite the lack of hardware controls and/or multitouch support...
I was searching for this!
I love the idea and would pay (just i have for FpseCE) to get this, i would love zelda on my phone
Seriosly, this is the idea of the century!
Maybe not, but it is a very good idea i would sertainly donate to whomever creates this very much appreciated emulation program!
And as someone else sad before me the multitouch works well if you just put some effort into it and program it right, i have Supporter Version of FpseCE and multitouch works well there!
fantasytozi: *Flame, flame you* Multitouch works perfectly inf FPSEce. ONly thing holding back is y-alignement problem. But multitouch works great.
All: This wont really happen. Who would start work that would take years to program on dying OS? IF there will be some emulators in future, it will be for WP7 (as emulators are best with strong HW and strong HW devices will come only for WP7. So add two years (if there is genius team of programmers) to WP7 release and you have date where first emulator could exist =)

Those games aren't free and they're not fantastic either.
Ferrari Evolution is too fast on the HD2, can hardly control it...graphics aren't WVGA either so it's not fantastic.

tmo hd2 with its supersized rom and expanded ram is the best phone out there. it kills all the iphones they cant even multitask.android runs programs without your permission so your phones ram is full after just an hour or so without you even using it and the android email sucks compared to windows mobile--android cant run but a few video formats--winmo can play anything.
guitar hero 5played smooth all the way on the hd2. my cliq(android) hangs up if you try to do anything. i hope motorola ends up upgrading it to android 2.1 so i can at least get turn by turn. motorola has really let people down.
hd2 is windows mobile at its best. you can make it just right for you.
I wouldnt post guitar hero here if it is the full game, that might cound as Warez
Games and Apps
You can get most of these and other games and apps here
Please send Ferrari GT evolution v2.4.0
More nice games please... Thank you.
still searching for the tetris game on the US HD2... or a link to the manufacturers site would be nice too

Where are the games?

So I've had my phone for a couple weeks now, I was hearing all this buzz about how awesome Android is now and how far it's come so I just took the plunge. The phone has been fun to use and explore as far as widgets are concerned etc... but if I would ever make this my full time device it would have to do everything that my other phone (iPhone4) does. This brings me to the games... so far on the market all I've seen are pretty shoddy looking atari or nintendo looking games, where are all the graphically intensive and/or beautifully designed games in the market? How do I find games that actually take advantage of the GPU in my phone (Galaxy S)?
Gameloft has bunch of 3D games like Avatar and Assiasin's Creed for Android on their website, I can't post links so just google it or go to Gameloft.com and go to their Android section.
Also, emulators

Why don't you go buy a dumb flip phone and supplement it with a PDA? Oh, maybe because you want one device to do multiple things? Imagine that. With phones like the Epic out, phones are starting to pack some pretty nice GPUs - you shouldn't dismiss gaming just like that.
To the OP: Check out Gameloft's stuff like someone else mentioned, they really are top of the line, but they refused to list their games in the marketplace. SNESoid, NESoid can run SNES/NES games. There's also some decent paid games in the Marketplace, you can usually find a demo or Lite version to try. With more people flocking to Android, more developers will start creating fleshed out games other than Bejweled clones (hopefully).

I wonder why people say garbage like oh get a PSP if you want to play games, Or if you want to use a navigation system get a gps, etc. I for one buy a device so I can do it all with one device. Or else I wouldn't buy it. End of point.
oh if you want a phone buy a land line phone instead it works better??? Logical I think not!

Except Gameloft that begins to bring its Iphone hits to Android, there are few 3D games on our favorite platform.
Few days ago, I played Asphalt 5, that's not a bad game, because Gameloft proposed some free demo versions on its website (not avalaible n the market)
You can also try some good games you can find on the market like Speed forge 3D or Replica Island (not in 3D but a very good game).
At least you can try emulators (gensoid, gameboid...)

Best tool for the job is the simple summary. I for one am glad that the entire market isn't dominated by games.. With all of the porn and sound boards there wouldn't be any actual useful apps left.
