not sure why you dont ask in the diamond forum where people have exp with the device
but for other devices if i want to access SDcard from my pc when the pda is connected
i choose Explore device or choose it from my computer
and then i end up in my documents
but there is an icon called my device or device or something like that when i click there
i end up in the root of my pda where i can enter my sdcard or storage dirs and as such copy files to them
Please help me i by mistake formated the Rom Disk using my PC where in WM5torage i selected the Chip Disk to be mounted as USB Flash and with my PC i formatted the flash Disk, after that the message ''' cant reach to the host,'' from WM5storage software and i hard reset the device but the device now in Boot mode/RedGreenBlue screen shows IPL1.00 SPL2.13 with USB word at the end of the screen and the USB cable plugged from the device to the PC but the PC dont regonize that a usb device pluged in at all , so what can i do , is there is a way to setup new WM5 Rom from the SD card , PLZ Help me soon as the battery now about 80% and i removed it away from the device, thanks in advance .
Hello all,
I have Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V.
So I upgraded the phone to ICS 4.0.3 and it seems I cannot find an option to encrypt phone under settings > security.
What I have found is this:
If i connect to pc through usb I need to enter my screen password in order to be able to read the SD Card.
BUT, when I remove the sd card and enter it to an external card reader ALL data are available.
Is there no option to fully encrypt the SD Card in ICS?
What the heck?
in fact, even the google stock ics doesn't support external Sd card encrryption too.
the reason why you must input the screenlock password to make Sd card visible when you connect your phone to pc is that you are using MTP connection mode, the mode will hide the storage units unless you unlock the screen. that's to say, if you change the connectivity mode(Settings->Xperia->Connectivity) to MSC, Sd card will be visible even you don't unlock the screen.
P.S.
#in MSC mode, only Sd card can be found, since internal storage doesn't support the MSC mode.
#you must unplug the usb cable or you can't change connectivity mode
Thank you for your answer!
So far you were the only one who gave me an insight on what's happening.
And thank you for letting me know that the sd is not encrypted but "invisible".
I have rooted my Auxus AX02 and ever since I have this problem with memory card becoming write protected when connected to PC.
within tablet I can move or delete files, but when connected to PC, it becomes write protected, can't copy or delete anything in memory card.
I tried with memory card reader, but its same... I tested another memory card on PC to check if there was any problem in my PC, but it worked fine.
now, I copied all data (14gb) in to PC and then formatted the memory card, it became normal .... I restored files in to memory card and put it in tablet.
Now it has again become write protected when i connect it to PC thru cable or card reader.
this indeed means there is something wrong with the tablet only.
I googled and tried SD card adaptor to unlock option ... but it doesnt work either.
Please help.
So I had connected my phone to the computer, and I accidentally deleted the emulated folder in my phone on the computer... This wiped literally every media and other files off my OPO . Is there a way I can recover this? Really desperate since I had some important pictures and files stored on it... I cannot use any PC recovery tools since the OPO doesn't support Mass Media Storage since it lacks an external SD card slot. How do I recover in MTP or PTP now? I don't even have the TWRP back ups since it wiped my SD card.
All the apps and other data such as contacts are stil intact though.
Any help is appreciated, thanks
Try to search for "data recovery"' in the playstore, some of them seems to work..
Worth to try...

I dont know how much it'll help in your caase, but I've used this software 'disk digger' from play store to recover deleted files.
