[BETA] WM6 Dailer Skin - Big Buttons & Smartdail

At last:
Now we have a way to have a big button Dailer Skin WITH Smartdail.
I have rebuild the dll from scratch, and now we can use it for dailerskinning WM6.
The attached skin is a BETA, this means not everyting looks nice, but it is a great starting point for making new skins, or adapting existing skins.
To do (DLL):
-Layout tweaking (I am not happy yet with the overal layout)
Please post your suggestions here, and I'll consider them, and the good ones will be incorperated into the dll, and eventualy into the dailer-skin builder I am working on.

OMG I freaking LOVE you man! It looks amazing! I am going to keep it! It looks a lot better than the standard layout, and GREAT for dialing with the fingers (I have an invidisible shield screen pretector so its practically scratch resistant). Not only that, for some reason, it FIXED my redialing issue. With the new crossbow rom, it wouldn't call the most recent person on the history list because it was organized in alphabetical order. A history log should obviously be organized by TIME. But i dunno man, it works and I just wanted to say kudos! U have really made my device a million times easier to call vai touch screen. To begin, touch screens alone are rather annoying to call from because there simply isn't any "physical push-back" button response. But with the large buttons, its practically FLAWLESS. THANKS AGAIN!
It is something i would consider using permanently. However some minor suggestions would be to shrink the text of the list of last people called so you and possibly widen it across the screen, so you could see more than just two recent entries.

As for the sugestions:
The backspace button is a bit in the way for the calllist, but I'll try to widen the list and still keep a backspace button in one form or another, or else find a way to edit the fontsize of the list.

great work on that! I wish I knew how to help you fix the last few things or make new similar skins (colours). If you need any help let me know!

Well, I am working on a program that will create the skin for you.
Just choose the background, select the button-layout, adjust the transparency of the buttons, press: build cab, and presto, you have created a new skin
I am beta testing a part of it now, looks very promissing

Sorry man i didn't notice that i was speakin' on the wizard forum.
I was referring to hermes.

If you would send me the tapres.dll and the tapres.dll.0419.mui I could try to make it compatible with the hermes.
However I can't test it because I don't own a tytn (yet ).

This version works on WM5? I can't upgrade to WM6 year because BT DUN has been removed so I'm stuck for now.

FYI this is working great on my Cingular 8525 (Hermes) with WM6.

Wow! Really nice dialer! I love it!
I wonder if you could do the same thing with the dialer from the wm5 that looks cool. I downloaded from somewhere and it is the dialer in Vista style! I am attaching it.

Thank you very much for this before I saw this post I was about to give up on the wm6,(fingers are too big for the small dialer)

When I start dialing and numbers come up if I press the down on the pad and then the middle pad button it shows me the last dial screen, before it used to dial the number ?

I'd love to help... but i don't quite understand the question... u might wanna rephrase that... i read it a couple of times and i'm so confused as to what you are asking ...

It's a feature from wm6..
You 'll see the contact info, and then dail.

home tab question

hi i hate the weather clock in sense 2.5 so is there a way to either
1 - remove weather clock with non weather clock in 2.5
or
2 - pin the small clock and shortcuts in the up position ,, ie. so the cant be scrolled back down to the main home display with 3 shortcuts and big clock
basically i want rid of the weather on the phone its good for posing but generally ugly and crap in my opinion,, please help lols

But you take away the clock or the weather?

i just want a non weather clock in my sense 2.5
a way to replace it with a pre manila 2.1 clock or just make all weather graphics transparent will do, i dont want the space for anything i just dont want to see it.

Wow you sure dont like sense.....
Might as well just do this:
On the HTC Sense UI, you go to Settings, go to all settings from the menu tab on the bottom right. From there choose Today, then flick left to the Items tab, and change the selection to Windows Default and ensure that Sense is unchecked.

i folowed that thread and i copiied the 2c89bd29_manila to my windows and it deleted the calendar text but no luck with the city text

Can anybody tell me how to find the .png for the retractable slider button in MaxManila 2.7SE as I want to try changing it? (see pic below)

I really just need to know how to insert one of my own into MaxManila 2.7SE if that is possible. I'm waaay too stupid to be able to read your files to see what you've done, can anyone help me with that?

how did you get the win button in the middle and the two buttons either side, that looks great if its real.

Well................depends what you mean by "real".
It's on my phone and that's a genuine screenshot, but the "Windows Button" isn't a button, just a little logo I put in, it doesn't do anything except look nice.
If you still want it it's uploaded in this post. Cheers.

bugger I have been looking for a way to get the windows button in the middle for ages, the phone could be used properly in one hand if the button was in the middle.

Thanks for the very kind offer Steve, but I tried your slider cab earlier today and it conflicts with MaxManila (unless I'm missing something?). I really want to know how to change the one in MaxManila so I can keep all of the other features? Thanks again though, very nice offer.

These are some of the best slider icons I have seen yet. Boy has some serious skills.
I already asked him if I could share it on this board and he gave me the green light.

I know that there is at least one icon for each tab that can be used as I put a different set together but changed my mind on the theme last minute.
Would love to learn how to do this because there's various sets on that site that look pretty good that I could play with depending on the theme I decide on.

please pack your desired icons for all tabs and post them here.
if you want to use the same icons as large previews as well, please send 256x256.

Hi redzepplun, i think there was misunderstanding I did not mean these slider icons, i meant 'way out there' ones, which I tried and they did not look good. they are quite small. But the ones you are referring on this thread (made by 12aon) are really nice and would fit quite well.

Hi mate I've attached the icons, they're all 512 x 512 I hope this is ok as that's the size they came off the website as. That's perfect to use the same as the large previews too. I hope they look as good as I think they will. Thanks

There is a way, but I can't for the life of me find the thread for it. They are just simple .cabs, I had looooads but I deleted them after installing Windows 6.5.x as I didn't need to use them. I'll keep searching and hopefully someone will link you to a thread in the meanwhile!

Was getting a little frosty in my other thread..
I'm looking for a few things for 6.5...
1) A collection of start icon's (only the icon, no text). Also a separate remove text cab would be nice as I've seen a few others that would give a limb for one...
2) I've not yet seen any of these yet but I'm after a collection of animated load icons (you know, the win icon that spins)
3)A collection of stand alone volume skins. Have seen a couple of these but they always seem to incorporate something else (not that I'm picky lol)
I'm mainly looking for Dusk and Anastasia themed items but i would love to see what else is out there!

Any hints to threads would be greatly appreciated!
Ps. @ Kalavere, I love your profile pic! I'm big in to Gas masks my self, had to mention!

Thanks a lot. Tried but no help. The taskbar I use is from anastasia. However the Start icon change in itself is not possible.
Also the "Start" text written on the top cannot be removed. Is there a way for it really.
It will eb a very nice idea to make a collection of
Volume icons
SMS icons
Battery icons
Start icons
and customization of start text.
Anyone upto it?

You can definitely, definitely change just the icon alone. I just can't find the damned things!

I've found an answer to that, thanks to dafunk2.
TO ALL OF YOU THAT WANT ONLY THE CUSTOM WAIT CURSOR:
No guys, there is no way to make a cab for only the custom wait cursor.
This is because the custom wait cursor graphics are into the file shellres.192.dll. Into this file reside also many of the taskbar icons and other miscellaneous graphics. If I make a cab with only the file shellres.192.dll and you install it, you will have my wait cursor, but you will have many of my taskbar icons as well. It's good if you use my taskbar (but if you use my taskbar you already have my cursor ), but if you use another taskbar....you can easily understand what can happen.
So this is why there's no way to make a cab that installs only the cursor.
I'm thinking about to make some colors variations of the cursor, but I think that I will make them for cookers (and who knows how to edit dlls) and I will post the 32bit bitmaps in the Windows Mobile Themes section.
I'm sorry.....but I'm explaining why this is impossible

This removed the 'Start' Txt from the upper left Start Button. I'm using T-Mobile US.
