"...I do know this issue has full visibility in Sprint - it's on the exec dashboard now and is getting the attention needed."

Fuze Times Out on Data Connection

Half the time when I try to go to a website the Fuze just times out. Loads forever and times out.
When it doesn't time out, it's slow as molasses.
I can throw my SIM in either of my other two 3G phones, sitting in the exact same spot, and everything flows just fine.
Anyone else having this issue?
I'm about ready to take this back, after months of waiting for its release, because the data connection is so unreliable.
have you tried tweaking it and maybe flash to another rom?
or maybe you just have a lemon. Get it exchanged and see if problem persists.

Have already returned it for a different one. Exact same issue. Actually I've posted a lot of details about this, if you look at my other posts.
Many others are having this same issue. Many others in the threads on here, like the HSDPA / 3G Fuze threads. Here's a guy on ATT forums with the exact same symptoms as me: http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=cingular&thread.id=108522
I do not want to flash to a different ROM because I saw someone in another thread post that they tried flashing back to the stock ATT ROM and it didn't work. Haven't seen anyone post saying that it DOES work for this specific phone to the ATT ROM.
If it was just "kinda slow" I would mess with tweaks and other ROMs, but the fact that it's literally unusable makes me want to just give up and possibly re-buy the phone if and when a REAL fix for it comes along.
The frustrating thing is it seems like about half people are getting awesome speeds on this phone, and the other half are getting abysmal, unusable speeds. I've seen a lot of posts on here of people saying they're just returning the Fuze as it's useless. I'm so disappointed, I really wanted this phone bad.
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm actually on my second Fuze right now (returned the first one for some stupid reason). Both phones had around the same speed. It's not stellar, but at least it's not doing terribly worse than my friend's iphone 3g, which I use as a comparison cuz we all know they're the connection hoggers.
Have you tried calling AT&T tech support? They've been extremely helpful with some of my questions.
Lastly, why not just flash it? May people are having a bit of a problem getting stock ROM to work after flashing it back, but if you're going to exchange it, who said the stock ROM has to work flawlessly? Besides, someone will eventually find a way to fully re-flash stock ROM soon, not that I'd ever understand why anyone would want to do that aside for warranty purposes.
I would bring your phone to AT&T store, talk to the manager (chances are someone working there also has a Fuze). Tell them your problem and ask them to do a comparison. Cuz right now I can only think of two possibilities:
1) you got 2 lemons in a row
2) Stock ROM really sucks
Good luck
Thanks man. I might just try a flash and see. I have not called tech support yet even though I've been thinking about doing that for days, because it's such a hair pulling experience, i just hate going through the phone systems and then getting people who don't have a clue what your'e talking about.
I did email the manager of the store, mainly about a different issue I had with the process and the associate (who lied to my face repeatedly, but i wont go into details) and mentioned the problems i'm having with my phone and the fact that the replacement is the same way.
I also live in OC (southern cal) and have heard others are having issues w 3G in general here. However the fact remains that my other two 3G phones work perfectly for me.

Enable Google Maps Navigation Outside USA

Well using the Nexus phone in Canada. The phone is rooted and using Firmware 2.1 Update 1.
I thought I was using the navigation feature already until I started reading about what others could do and I couldn't.
Long story short I get the famous message "No Route Found"
I have read lots of posts as to options to hack this but they all seem pretty old. Any new ways available which don't compromise some features?
there is a modded maps apk by brut, under the g1 dev forum. think its called bruts google maps or something like that. should work on n1
well probably wont work as its for donut
but heres the link anyways..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887&highlight=bruts
Used that which works but I was wondering if there was one outside the US that doesn't limit functionality.
I am getting greedy hahaha
I'd be really interested for this for when my wife and I go on a trip to Canada later this yr.

[Q] Call Quality/ Echo

Team-
Was wondering if any one has been experiencing this. Im starting to think its the phone....Every time I make a call I hear a soft garbled echo of my self. If I put the phone on BT and use my BT headset I still hear the echo.
I did all basic trouble shooting, master reset, Different BT, even swapped out the SIM Card 3 times....
I have a feeling it might be the phone....but before I do a exchange and get back a refurbished phone. I wanted to know if any one here was experiencing the same issues with call quality?
Is there a possible way to fix it if it is indeed the radio on the phone?
Thanks
Hey there. Getting the phone tomorrow or Saturday and in the South Florida T-Mobile network as well. Will come back and post my experience. I do plan on removing bloatware though.
No echo issues in Dallas, had the phone for a week.
Im in South Florida too....Sunny MIAMI!....I have root and have already removed bloat ware.... So let me know if you experience anything similar.
thanks
Hey there.
I just received the phone, and haven't rooted yet, but utterly impressed. There is a lot of false information out there, so I think I'll make a review video to put up on youtube. Any ways, call quality has been great, and haven't run into the issue you posted about. If there's anything else I can help with let me know.
On a side note: Not proud to say I'm from South Florida. Disgusting place in my opinion and can't wait to move in a couple months.

Reproducing a Defect

Hello dear members, I need your help:
So I have the infamous screen flicker issue on my Rogers One X. I just got it, and am still in the 15 day return window. HTC says to bring it back to Rogers, but the issue, which has appeared many times, occasionally surfaces. My problem is no other Rogers store will return it except the one I got it from, and the one I got it from won't exchange the device unless I reproduce the problem right in front of their eyes. I have goddamn video evidence and they won't take it.
Is there any way I can create what seems to be a huge glitch and make them take it back? OR exploit a lesser known part of android to screw the system. I was thinking of changing APNs but unfortunately it's locked.
Anyone have any ideas?

Even tho you do well to make this sound justified it is still an attempt to defraud. I would be aiding you in a crime if i were to give u an idea, like pulling the body off the phone and snipping the battery wires and putting it back together. That will leave it completely dead, probably related the the flickering. Again, any ideas of that sort could put me at risk legally and morally. So please, dont ask for information of that sort in these forums anymore.
Sorry i cant Help you here:beer:
It never occurred to me that what I was doing was fraudulent or potentially fraudulent (though how the Big 3 operates here in Canada, one could easily question them for their motives). And for that, I apologize and will refrain in seeking an answer.
Actually that's thanks in part to how I solved my own problem. I reproduced my screen flicker issue easily by playing a 10 hour nyan cat video. All I need now is fast, legal transport to the Rogers store.

Glad you figured it out. Let us know if you can reproduce the effects in store.
Well we got a new One X for my theatric presentation of the screen flicker. It was 3 hours in to the nyan cat video, so I told the driver to have the car in a ready position so that when I jumped in to the car we'd shoot straight to the store. We legally did the speed limit, no more. And I kept the crazy screen on with sporadically timed touches.
We arrived at the Rogers store and I ran in and shoved the glitched device straight into the same man's face who had earlier denied me an exchange. This time however, he had no excuse, live proof was just under his nose.
Well it worked. And so far, this One X isn't showing any screwiness yet.

Is this signal status normal or tweaked?

I mess with the build prop and csc and sales/default/mps data settings/prl/apn anything to do with network alot and usually never do anything better then making a already bad connection (sprint) worse (its possible) but after who knows how many different things ive done now but today I hotspotted to my tv while using kodi on my phone and upnp from kodi to play on the tv all without lag, buffering or anything you may find while simply going to google.com normally. So i got a few apps and the responses have me wondering if Ive done something beneficial finally? Its signalspy and signalcheck pro.
I always find myself triple checking any pictures after i upload mostly screenshots making sure theres nothing id be ashamed of! LOL. im good on these :good: dont judge! I triple check ones you all post too and youll see some of the craziest things, in any pics posted online, in the corners or background that you know they for sure did not see when they uploaded it (dirty socks or skidmarked undies on floor/toe fungal/internet tab of ww.explicit.. etc). Unrelated completely but had to tell someone cuz yea im that guy that spends countless time on phone settings and dont get out much so yall are it. :cyclops:
