I had a great little app on my Touch Diamond that enabled Bluetooth whenever it was on external power (great for linking to the car bluetooth headset). However, it doesn't seem to work on the HD2.
Having searched the forum, I found this update:
http://www.kixass.net/bluepower/
but again, it doesn't seem to work on the HD2.
I know I can create a front screen button to turn on bluetooth, but I will forget to turn it off when I leave the car, and drain the battery (senility )
Anyone help ?
did you install .net cf 3.5 on your hd2??
One of the first things I did !
Interesting app... did you change the settings to ensure that your HD2 uses net cf3.5 at all times? I remember that there were some registry settings that needed to be made to make sure it does not revert back to 2.0 even after installing 3.5
Thanks for the suggestions mouki and eskasi.
Used netcfcfg to ensure 3.5 is used by default (and overidden for the application), but still no joy.
I tried this on a Topaz running a Leo based ROM... no joy too... I suspect its because of WM6.5.... Was your Diamond running a WM6.5 ROM or 6.1?
It was 6.1. I did upgrade to 6.5 when I was messing about with it, but didn't test this app, before I reverted to 6.1.
Maybe Kixass, or some more competent techie than me is lurking, and will see this post, and amend bluepower for 6.5
Maybe it's because the HD2 uses the broadcom Bluetooth Stack, like the Touch Pro2 does, and apparently it's not a proper implementation compared to the original MS Bluetooth drivers and therefore some bluetooth apps break (like BlueInput.. -_-). I think the Topaz and the Blackstone don't use broadcom and so it isn't broken.
are there other solutions to this? I would also like to have the bluetooth on when the phone is on power...

I'd like to run GPS mapping software with driving directions on my 2125. I'm currently running WM5, but am considering flashing it to WM6.
I have used TomTom and iGuidance on Pocket PC (WM6 Pro) phones and that is the type of software I'm looking for.
I have a Bluetooth GPS and a 2 GB memory card to hold maps. I just need to know what software works well on this device. I'd hate to spend $150 for some software that doesn't work correctly on this phone.
Is there a version of TomTom that runs on WM6 Standard and works with the 240x320 screen of the 2125?
I use TomTom 5.2 with WM6 and it works perfectly, I here some users are using 6 with a patch that allows you to use fake cursor because TomTom 6 is touch screen only.
Hope that helps.
I use BT GPS too (Holux Slim236) with Windows Live Search. It has its flaws but, works fine for what I use it. Flaws: 1. Image doesn't rotate as you turn. 2. No audible voice alerts(turn left, right, etc), just a beep beep when aproching. 3. Requires you to be connected to internet to update maps. Other than that, I feel its a great companion to have installed on phone, even for reference only. Never know when you'll need it.
I use Route66.
Hello guys,
I am experiencing huge problems with my current ROM and these WM bulides (eg. the Ranju's - v7.4) here.
With my BT software, I am not able to use the "Service discovery" feature on my Qtek without pairing the devices.
Unsless I have with different ROMS, but not with a WM6 Smartphone (Samsung Blackjak) it seams to be a problem with WM Cores.
Can anybody help me out?

This is an interesting request. I have tried to make my universal work with A2DP using various registry hacks, but I can only get a couple of seconds of sound and then it cuts off. I swear it used to work last summer on a different ROM.
My guess is that changing the core might help.
Anyone can help?
I am not quite sure what my last rom was, but i think it was a 6 Pro Rom and I had the same problems.
YES,have Different Rom
Hi brother there's is a WM6 Roms of UNI with different BT stack,it is use Broadcomm bluetooth stack and work fine on my used, but in first you should know there have some bugs while you are picking up and ending the call with your BT headset's button, you should learn how to use it ,the roms link is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291875 ,it made from helmi_C ,I am very glad to use these rom since i used HP 4150 before and the HP use broadcomm stack,it have great a2DP quailty and can use avrcp profiles. Think it can help you !!
Okay thank you so long.
This BT Stack is avaiable for seperate download as well, but I not sure it if works...

hello guys,
i'm new here and I hope im posting in the right section.
My car ist equipped with a bluetooth carkit (Blaupunkt USB/Bluetooth Interface).
It is using the handsfree-protocol (HFP) to connect the phone.
With a couple of "classical" mobiles (basicly nokia and siemens devices) it is possible to access the Phonebook and activate voice recognition by pressing the ptt-button of the carkit.
This is neither done through SimAccessProtocol (SAP) or SerialPortProtocol (SPP) nor by PhoneBookAccessProtocol (PBAP). The Carkit is nearly 2 years old, and beliving some sources i found PBAP is a newer Standard.
This Carkit connects to the phonebook using an extended Handsfree-Protocol.
My HTC Wizard didn't support the carkit at all. After a rom upgrade to some kind of wm6 rom it worked very well execpt for phonebook-access.
Some time ago i found a tool named "JETware Hands-free Extension for Windows Mobile phones" (http://www.jetwaremobile.com) which exented the HFP-Profile used by the Microsoft-Bluetooth-Stack and enabled the phonebook access.
Since my Wizard broke some days ago i bought a new phone. I thought it would be possible to use every WM6-phone with the mentioned plugin.
So i bought a LG KS20. It looks and works very well and i want to keep it. But i have a problem with it. It uses a Widcomm/Broadcom-Bluetooth-Stack (ver. 1.8.7.0600). It seems like it has much better support for bluetooth-devices than the Ms-Stack (and this must be the reason why most people want to use a widcomm-stack instead of a ms-stack).
It also has PBAP and SAP-Plugins.
BUT, since my carkit does not support PBAP or SAP, and the HandsfreeProfile seems to be just supported elementary (PTT-Button only for redial), phonebookAccess does not work on the LG.
The jetware-Extension only supports ms-stacks.
I already spend some nights on gathering information and testing settings but didn't get very far.
There are some registry settings concerning paired devices, where things like HFPfeatures are mentioned. The value is set to 257 and trying to change it to some other values didn't affect anything.
I also downloaded the Widcomm SDK and tryed to find something about these options, but since the SDK is two years old and nothing about HFP is included this also was worth nothing.
My last try was to use the MS-Stack (from wizard) instead of the widcomm-stack. The registry keys for Ms-Stack seem to be present, but all efforts ended up in about 5 hardresets.
Is there anyone here who can help me solving my problem?
Is there a cab file with a ms bt stack i could try anywhere?
Or is there an extension like jetware for the widcomm stack, respectively only a few registry changes are neccessary and someone knowns better?
many thanks,
andi
hi, I have the same problem, with my htc hd 2. have you found any solution?
bump bump bump
same problem with me as well
This is a common problem with M$ and car kits, see here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519676&page=4 and many other threads like it.
I havent tried what he suggests yet, but i know my freelander 2 doesnt connect properly with all cooked roms i have ever tried so far (many!).
Not that this helps you as it is the software you have tried.
Whenever I sync my Touch Cruise in the car (BMW) the interface lags! For example pressing the phone button on the steering wheel takes forever to pull up the phone menu on the car display. Also during a call if I press the hang up button on the steering wheel, it doesn't hang up right away. I have to keep pressing it multiple times. The actual sound quality through the car speakers is fine and the pairing is very quick so no problems there.
Is this a specific problem between the car and the phone? The car handles other bluetooth phones very well, such as the ahem..iPhone. The response when hitting the steering wheel buttons is instantaneous.
I currently have udk Syrius R8 Beta2 with radio 1.59.46.12. I read in one of the other forums on xda that it has something to do with TouchFLO. I disabled the Manila TouchFLO, turned off S2U2, still no luck. Any ideas?
I have similar problems with my XDA Orbit2 with WM6.1 and with my Ignito/Diamond with WM6.1 both with my Peugeot car BT and with Motorola BT headset.
An incoming call sometimes takes 10secs for the audio to be re-routed, PITA
I also found that if I'm running Navigon 6 and an incoming call gets picked up by the car BT then Navigon (or any other GPS app like GPSCycleComputer) gets screwed, the internal GPS gets disconnected.
I'm suspicious that the problem is due to the on chip BT and GPS.
My XDA Orbit (1) with WM6.0 doesn't have the same problem but of course it also has a seperate SirfstarIII GPS.
So, who knows, it could be WM6.1 or it could be the Qualcomm integrated chipset?
I'd like to re-install the original Orbit2 WM6.0 to see if that makes a difference but that's not completely simple as there is no full (official) O2 WM6 file available (AFAIK)
Yeah it's pretty annoying. I assume the udk ROM that I have has all the bluetooth patches, etc. I know other phones don't have this issue, so I'm hesitant to say it's the BMW bluetooth firmware. Something is laggy about the device when paired. I must say though I've never tried pairing it to a BT headset so I wonder what that will be like.
No one else having bluetooth performance issues with their car's built in Bluetooth system?
I have carkit trouble, but don't know why.
My problem is as followed:
I Drive a Renault Scenic with a Carminat Navigation System including Bluetooth Carkit
When I connect my HTC TC Everybody complains that quality is poor. Reception is louzy etc.
When I connect my HTC TD2 the problem dowsn't exist.
When I connect my Samsung Omnia the problem doens't exist ( but other problems in the phone appear)
When I connect my Nokia N73 with the current software I have a lot of problems ( even other then with the HTC )
When I connect my Nokia N73 with an old version of the software I have no problems...
All phones run the stock ROMS ( Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro ) / original Software. I first thought It might be a carkit problem, but as some phones work and others don't I tent to believe that it is a ROM problem (Maybe radio not good)
Is it possible to update the bluetooth driver / firmware?
Problem with HTC TC could be in radio driver.
But since there are problems with other devices, it could be problem with Carminat. You should check with Renault is there software update for it.
But first check if those phones are on Carminat's compatibility list...
The strange thing is that I have the problem with the nokia N73 when the software of the phone is higher then 2.69
According to Renault all Windows Mobile devices are supported / compatible.
I think it is the BT driver or Firmware. But don't know if it is possible to upgrade this to a newer version. Or to test this?
Yes,
My Parrot Mki 9100 works perfectly for phone calls, but doesn't play GPS navigation audio instructions.
Anyone know waht is wrong?

Have an appointment at the car deakership on Tuesday to see if there is an update or quickfix...
I still suspect the TC though
BT, GPS and GSM are controlled by radio driver.
Please check version, since even stock ROMs use different drivers.
So far, my version is flawless...

hi,
I have have quite some problems with BT connection with same radio driver see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570153
I sent it for fixing to the dealer.
Hope a solution.
Went to the car dealer today. They updated the software and modified the microphone volume (lowered it) and the sound quality is improved.
At the car dealer they told me that they have a lot of issues with HTC phones in combination with the different carkits, although the newer phones have less problems. There is a new software upcoming before the end of the year which should solve more problems. but for now the problem is less....
I figured out why (but not the underlying cause) of the sluggishness when the phone is paired to the car. My phone shows very high CPU usage (90%) with services.exe when I look in task manager when the phone is paired. I noticed that using the actual device is sluggish, even just typing up a text. I don't know why that is. The moment I turned off bluetooth, it was back to normal.
Any idea what could be causing that?
Maybe radio driver...
I had such problem when I was on WM 6.0, but it was caused by failing radio chip...
SOLVED!!!
Hi there,
Ever since I have my Touch Diamond and My cherished Nokia A2DP headset, I've been enjoying wireless music, calling and everything at the touch of a few buttons on my headset.
Recently I finally flashed to winmo 6.5, and I also decided that Touchflo was costing me too much precious memory. So I flashed to a nice clean rom (BsB).
Everything cool so far, that is, until I tried my BT headset. With out the touchflo player you're automatically dependent on windows media player, and if there is one piece of software that makes listening to music a b*tch it's wmp. So I installed pocketmusic. Everything fine so far. but the controls on my bt headset stubbornly only work with AND automatically start WMP. very irritating. after extensive searching of the beloved XDA forums I found out that this was a known problem. WMP Hijacking BT controls.
And finally it appeared I had found the solution: T-back's 6.5 BT driver.cab
This was supposed to give back the control of Bluetooth to the program running at the moment. all the coments left in said thread were joyous, it works, it's alive...
So I installed it, and too my suprise it did indeed stop WMP from hijacking the controls and also assigned the controls to pocketmusic...
Unfortunatly it also stopped the audio from going to my Bt headset, which kind of beats the purpose of a bluetooth headset.
So now I'm back to listening to music without T-back's driver, on my BT headset, and having to control my music on screen, which is a little irritating.
I've allready replied to the thread in hopes of getting a solution or something, but unfortunatly no reply.
I'm hoping someone beter technically endowed than me can give me a solution for this problem, this is the only thing standing between me, and my perfect rom!
HELP
Note, I tried this on 2 different winmo 6.5.1 rom's (benko's clean and the BsB 6.5.1)
note2: could this maybe be something having to do with the difference between 6.5 and 6.5.1?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I don't know about the ROM being the problem. You can try pocket player. It supports AVRCP by default. It also has a lot more features than Pocket Music.

Same problem there, i've tried them both.
you wouldn't happen to knwo what the latest version was by any chance?
I had a version which I had to import a dll, to get exclusivity for a2dp controls.
Which also didn't work for me
*edit* Never mind, it's 4.1 ;-)
But it's not really the solution I'm looking for, I want to fix the problem internally (so I can use a2dp for any program I want, for example S2P)
*edit 2*
Tried it, still not working, it's still starting WMP, even with the extra wmp plugin which Conduits recommends for this issue...
So still in need of assistance
Crap! It turns out I have the same problem using ENERGY ROM, but hadn't notice since the volume control on my HT820 works OK. I'm actually using HTC Audio Manager (manila) so I don't get WMP, is just the FWD / REV controls on the headphones don't work. Looks like Conduits will provide a fix for their player in the next release.

Nope, there not fixing it, that is the fix, it's a DLL file. the problem he's having is he isn't able to check the box to override wmp control. which you can do by selecting it, and then pressing the enter key on your virtual keyboard, unfortunatly the fix did not work for me
this is the dll file you need to put into your player directory, which you can then configure through the plugins tab in pocket player itself (after soft reset)
Try it, maybe it'll work for you, it didn't for me
volume control does work for me as well though, but it's the only thing taht's working
Solved
Thanx to Zänker
You should install the two files from these posts.
With this one you can toggle a2dp manually once your headset is connected:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437726
The following makes it toggle automatically after you connect your headset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502549
(you should have the t-back driver installed as well)
Worked for me, using the bsb 6.5.1g rom and s2p media player.

Is that player dependent ?
I usually use Pocket Tunes, and never had this issue with 6.5 builds (I indeed use BsB 6.5.1G atm). If it helps i use Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970...

In case you're interested...
Juts fixed my AVRCP problem using HTC Audio Manager in NRG's ROM. I installed this version of audio manager and everything is working fine.
