You can download it from market by searching "afirewall". Thank you.
Since we are on the Topic of a FireWall, I'm sure people will look up something for Internet.
DroidWall is the app name and its free on the Market.
If you don't have a data plan like me, this is the best thing if you are tired of using APN droid when you want to enable MMS, just go to whitelist and select Messages. Thats it!
I haven't seen any glitches in the app or crashes.
what kind of block modes do you have?
busy, shut down, out of service?

Hello. Does anybody knows an app that can block calls from contacts ?
There are quite a few in the marketplace but from what I am finding none of them can totally block the call, the first ring, and on screen notification always happens.
There's a option on the contact that says "send directly to voicemail" use that
And if you dont want to send them to voicemail..
1)BlacknWhite.callblocker.pro.v2.7.0 and 2) Security Guarder
I have a Capitvate running Stock Gingerbread 2.3.5. I am on a volunteer fire department and to go along with our pagers, we have a thing called "2nd Signal." What it basically does is sends a sms message to your phone when the pager goes off. On my 4s, I could assign a sms tone that is distinct to the 2nd Signal. The issue is that the sms message comes from an email address ([email protected]). The problem on the Captivate, is the programs I have tried only allow a custom sms message tone from a number. Any ideas of a program to use that will allow a custom sms tone from an email address? I have tried Ringo Lite and SMS Popup to no avail.
I love it when I stump people!
I see only one solution - you may install GoSMS Pro. It could hide messages from some contacts to private mailbox, which have separate notification settings.
I decided to change my default SMS/MMS app after playing around with some better alternatives to Samsung's "Messages" app. Only after I made the change did I learn that emergency alert messages (also known as CMAS or WEA messages) are handled exclusively by Samsung Messages.
This means 1. I can't actually delete or disable Samsung Messages or else I will lose CMAS/WEA altogether and 2. Every time I get an emergency alert, to read it I need to pass the "Make Messages your default SMS app" screen.
Is there a way to move CMAS/WEA handling to another app? Other Android variants seem to handle them in a dedicated app with its own settings in Android Settings. I am on stock (rooted) Marshmallow, build PG1.
I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere. Searching on CMAS, WEA, and "emergency alerts" turned up nothing.

I keep getting notifications of Can't get MMS so I turn on Data and click the message on the notification screen. Nothing happens. I have received MMS recently so I think this is just one of those new advertisers sending me a MMS with no phone number. I'm using Textra as a messaging app and I have notification dots turned on. So the Textra Icon is showing a Dot but when I go into the app none of the entries in the history list has a dot. I don't know who is trying to send me MMS. This has to be fixed because it's like screening your phone calls. If you don't recognize the number I don't want to download the MMS. There seems to be no cancel option. This must be added. It can't be blocked because you don't know the number. Wouldn't it be great if you where able to block MMS or SMS with blank recipient phone number. Wouldn't it be great if robo callers where not allowed to set their phone number as blank. Wouldn't it be great if Robo callers were required to set a code that a phone app could read and bypass the call.
SMS Spam and text messages with trojans and viruses has gotten so bad that I have had to block all SMS except those in my contact list. I use 'Should I Answer' for the SMS blocking.
I get SMS text alerts from several banks with no problem (they normally have a 6 digit number). But one bank has no number and is only identified by what appears to be an email address.
Unfortunately a Contact list does not allow an alphabetical input in the phone number field of the contact list. I question how they can even send an SMS message without a number. I've tried asking the bank for help but they seem clueless about this.
Is there a way to determine what number is being used to send these alerts? I found a number they claim on their website is used for SMS but when entering it in the contact list it is still blocked. I can't get any alerts from that bank due to their use of an email address in place of a number. Any suggestions?
