oh man i wish you were wrong
i guess the only solution left is by using some kind of a vnc server
though i am not sure on how to use one..
1. Establish adhoc connection between smartphone and laptop. I don't rnow how to do it exactly as I don't have another wi-fi enabled device.
2. Start ftp-server on smartphone. Only in russian http://board.riot.ru/27-smartfony/13312-smartftpserver-ftp-server-dlya-smartfonov.html
3. Acces it via ftp://smartphone's-ip:21
4. Profit
frankly that is pathetic! Microsoft is retarded! My ipaq 1945 could do that!
Sorry for my bad english. I see some posts in another forum where peoples get some dll from pocket pc firmware and put it in windows folder. And in explorer add folder Network Neiborhood. All works correct.

I'm specially interested in this issue. I really would like to make my device discoverable and able to share files with other systems, like other desktops do.
Does anyone have Network Plugin for File Explorer Version 1.0 (Build 30235) as a cab file? Or perhaps something newer than that?
Thanks,

Thanks but that is just the older JUVS HTC Network Plugin (Build 29714) under yet another name and I am looking for the newer 30235 build, it has the remote network hard drive icon, and does not have a world as part of the icon, with file dates of 11/10/07 I believe.
Thanks,
Here is a link to the newest one I have found Schaps_NetworkPlugin_1_0_30468_1.CAB
im interested in the latest HTC one as well.
this is pretty useful...i dont have to plug my mogul in to transfer files between it and my lappy.
net plugin is buggy
If you are using TotalCommander, there is a better plugin in the //plugins folder called LAN.
- does not crash.
- no reboot required.
- can keep a list of locations.
- simple.

TC's LAN plugin does not always work for me, and it's stupid enough to hang TC for 2-3 minutes before asking for the networks share's password... IN addition I'm only able to copy/move files with TC and not to play music with coreplayer, for instance.
network plugin always did the trick for me

Network Plugin build 30235 is a great app and works well on wm6pro htc universal. However I can only connect to 3 folders (1 internal hdd, 1 external hdd and the usual SharedDocs folder). Will the Schaps NetworkPlugin 1.0 30468 show all available shared drives? Any ideas?

I have found that build 30468 is unstable for me... I have no problem with connecting to more than three folders with 30235, as long as the folders are on Windows machines, there is a problem with the Universal connecting to SAMBA folders IMHO, it no longer will.
I added my Music folder. But can't open it..? See whats inside..

Hi Folks - I am an admitted novice. I was able to download the above file to my laptop - now how do I transfer/load/execute it on my HTC Touch Pro?
Any help would be appreciated.
Forgive my ignorance, but how do these plugins work, ive tried the HTC V1.0 one before and ive just tried the above one.
When on either, file browswer or from within a prgram such as core player and i click NETWORK as the folder, its allways empty. Ive specified an IP on my WIFI and i can access the internet through my router fine but nothing shows up either FROM the PC in net neighbourhood, or the other way round..
Ive also enabled shared folder from the network plugin settings too..
any help apreciated
Ignore me im a tw*t... just figured it out after trying for weeks on and off lol... good old you tube video showed me the way.

how the heck do you get this thing to work?
Here's an odd one, I instaled the network plugin no problems. As soon as I enabled it it wanted to restart, fine i kind of expected that. After the restart the touchflo failed to launch.
A restart fixed the issue but strange none the less.
I'm using a touch pro 2 with the Telstra Rom (shudder....telstra are a pain)

Hi folks!
I've just buy an D2 htc and i see a amazing app named hologram (based on the app with wii remotes)
I've tried to install the app but it doesnt work, he say "htcapi.dll impossible to find" or something like that..
I'm really disapointed because i want to show it all around me!!
So somebody have an idea?
the same happens whit my diamond!!
i dont know what to do please if someone can help
When you downloaded it there was a hcapi.dll or something like that in the included.. You need to put it in the /Windows folder.
Then it should work.
But maybe you need some ati 3d drivers to get it smooth..
Or at least this worked for me,
her is the file and the cab
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/attachment.php?attachmentid=24278&d=1223403905
I installed it included Ati 3D drivers and didn't work. Same message like you wrote and file was in windows folder. :-( Thanx for any advice.
what application is this? sounds interesting, mind posting some pictures?

I can confirm working, thanks! At last, a use for the ati 3d driver I installed some time ago (which I was never convinced speeded anything else up). Lovely prog for showing off your TD2!
Update: It does work, if you don't soft reset. After a reset, the app complains it "can't find PInvoke DLL "HTCAPI" and shuts down again. Looking at the Windows directory with Total Commander, the HTCAPI.DLL file is still there. The only visible difference is its icon, which has become a folder icon rather than a windows system file icon. If you copy the file from the original installation package back to the windows folder, overwriting the other one, the icon becomes a system file one again, and the app launches successfully again. Can anyone explain this?
It's a pity, because it's an impressive little "eye candy" app when it works.
can anyone make the zoombar on the D2 work with this application? Looking great.
can cam we zoom yet ?
Just curious, I have my pictures separated out into different folders: my daughters, cars, girls, etc, etc.
I know there's a 'favorites' and I know you can view by date, but does WP7 allow you to create folders for pic organization?
Thanks.
Cyph
Not really. If you upload them to Facebook as private albums they'll show up separately though with the integration
You can sort them into folders on your skydrive.
It actually does, thank to Pocketnow.com for the article.
Picture folders on WP7.
Skydrive works too. Thanks.

Good catch, left the "7" off the end of the URL. Works now.

In my experience, Windows Phone simply mirrors the directory structure you have on your PC. Not rocket science!
I realise its now been said but yes yes it does and it does it very well. media organization is simply superb on wp7 be it pics music videos contacts this is one area MS is king
Thanks...or not...

I don't have a WP7 phone as of yet, hence the question. My directory structure in my WM6.5 was setup like I wanted on the phone itself.
I don't use Zune either so I put the question out there.
Sheesh.

This was a worry for me, too.
You can directly copy the picture folders from your phone to your PC and set the Zune software to use that as the sync directory for pictures. Doing so will migrate your folders just as you desire.
Hi all
I searched for a solution but can't find anything decent.
The problem is that on my pc everything is ok but when i transfer the documents and presentations to my transformer and open them with Polaris they get corrupted and i can't open them back on my pc.
For the .doc there is a workaround with Google docs but this isn't working for me with .ppt. It keeps saying it can't upload them.
Hope you all can help me...

What version of Office are you using on your PC? I've found that in order to not run into problems with Polaris, I have to save all my documents as older 97-2003 versions. Polaris opens the new versions for Office 2007/2010, but when I try to save them is when it will either give me an error / corrupt the file / save it automatically as the older version on my tablet (I generally open and save all mine via DropBox, so when it saves to the tablet it's kind of annoying).
I use office 2010,but save my files as older versions 97-2003 because of compatibility isues with my friends when working together.
It's been an issue for a while now, unfortunately. Here is a previous thread on it. They probably have an error in the xml formatting in their save routine.
Yes I know this is where i got the .doc workaround but it does not work with .ppt.
Polaris has screwed me over so many times...
I know this isn't exactly the answer that you are looking for, but try out kingsoft office.. I'm pretty sure its free now and imho its far superior.
