Windows Media Player 10 Mobile Download?

I have done a considerable amount of searching but can't seem to find it. Everywhere I look all i find is information telling me that it was never released for download.
Does anyone here have a cab file for WMP 10? I am using titanium 2 and it does not have it preloaded on it.
Also, I am looking for an automatic network configuration tool also if anyone knows where to find that as well.

Are you sure you don't have WM10 already installed?

Yes I have scoured the whole device and cant find a trace of WMP10 but thank you for that link!

You're welcome. So, do you even see an icon for "Windows Media" in your Programs menu? Or do you at least have WMPlayer in your Windows folder?

no it isnt there. audio files look like a dll file is supposed to like and if it werent for audio manager, i wouldnt be able have mp3 ringtones.

Dan if you are running TNT v5 then it has wm 10 installed already.
check your device using file explorer/ my device/ windows/ scroll all way to the bottom you will see the wmplayer icon. i opened it and checked the about in menu and it is wm 10

You're absolutey correct about that. However, at the time I created this thread I was giving Titanium 2 a try and that did not have WMP10 installed.

Yea i dont think WMP is there in Ti2.

Browsing the LAN on the universal, how to!?!?!

Hi,
I need help on how to browse my home LAN. Weeks ago, with the previous rom, i was able to browse the LAN using total commander. Now that I've upgraded, i've tried in all the ways known to me, but never succeeded to.
I've tried using the File Explorer as explained in this tutorial, and it doesn't work: a balloon tip comes up saying that i "can't connect using the current settings" (i've already configured my gprs connection that works well with all other apps...wtf i need to configure then??)
I've tried using total commander, but here it says "error 53 while connecting" and then "error 0" ... The guy on TCce's support forum says that this means that the network path is not found, but it is not true.
I'm left to Resco file explorer, which i uninstalled some time ago coz i felt it was useless...
EDIT: Ok, i've isntalled Resco and it doesn't work! It finds my computer and shows its shares, but after having finished the procedure, the Network section doesn't show up at all! If I click on th enetwork shares button, the share i've just created is there, but clicking it, nothing happens!!!! I'M GONNA THROW MY UNI ON THE WALL!!
Please please please, help me solve without installing resco (even if I think that won't be a solution, too!)

and you didn't have to be connected in active sync when you were browsing the other computers? that's awesome! i have so much music to go through and i just do it upstairs! swwweeettt next on the to do list

No i'm not connected to active sync... i don't understan what are you talking about...

i was able to connect to my networked computers with resco explorer 2005

Guys I've gotten this to work with the basic file explorer in wm6. The only problem I've found it that you can't open IP numbers but only the actual name of the computer I.e. your IP may be 192.168.0.6 but the computer name is Laptop1
If you "open path" from the menu \\Laptop1\ then it seems to work fine. hope this helps. I don't actually think you need resco. This work over wifi and actusync for me

yeah, that's what i discovered as well, but also resco is a much better file explorer, and from there you can just clock on netwrk/map drives, and blam!
it's pretty awesome.

HI can anyone help. i am new to the windows mobile but i love it. i can't seem find how to change the registry key, i was tld i need an editor or use the cab file. the cab file show ur as (.xlm). By the way i have a htc Leo, ( i think T-mobile much have taken the control panel away) plus i cant update the rom.

You will have to specify which registry key etc. you want to change (otherwise we cannot give you the appropriate instructions or .cab to do so..)
If you want to upgrade a T-Mobile HTC HD2, (to official or cooked rom) you will have to use HSPL.

hey. thanks for the reply. i have seen some cab file i would like to add to my phone but when i transfer it, it shows up as xlm file, which does not install on the phone. how do i go about installing it.

you do not extract the cab files, the cab you copy to phone and execute them from there.

thanks dude, it's that simple i dont know why i was thinking it was a complicated process, i have now mastered the cab file. one quick question how do i uninstall file that have been installed on the phone. deleting the file doesnt seem to work. any advice??

Simple:
Startmenu => Settings => Application => Remove programs ~ Select your app. and press remove

thanks dude. i found it after 3hrs. but i already did damage. i delete the file without uninstallling it. so i now stuck with the icon on my but i think i cn gey rid of it. thanks

full screen
Does anyone know how are make a program full screen. i have just installed audio manager on the leo but it only shows it on the top left of the screen, it works but not in full screen.

Hey there. Welcome to the WM
about the question you asked about the program named "audio manager",
for me it looks like a resolution issue that the specific programme is designed for a VGA resolution screen (square screen) which might not be compatable for the Leo's WVGA screen (wider screen).
All you need to do is get a VGA fix or simplily wait for the devs to release a WVGA version of the app.

cheers dude. im gona see if it works... i thut as much that the audio was the problem. but the audio manager affects my sms. i dnt know why... when i uninstall the audio manager my txt message started showing again. any ideas what happened

hi can anyone, advice me, my hd2 doesnt use the wifi wen im at home because i have unlimited internet on my phone. i have been told wifi works quicker for internet surfing, im already connected to my home network but the phone doesnt use it. how do i get the phone to use the wi-fi instead of the t-mobile internet

Hi! I'm searching for an app can see wlan hd and his folder.
On desktop pc I can see it with \\192.168.0.7 but on HTC TYTN II it's invisible.
I've tried with RESCO FILE EXPLORER also. I can see every pc on the wlan but not the NAS. Someone have an idea about this my little problem?

Are you using network plugin? If not, search for Schaps Network plugin. THis let's you mount network drive like you would on desktop. Total commander LAN plugin is another option.

Network my HD2

Im not to sure where to look for this but i was looking for information on how to access my home network to access and play songs, vids over a wifi connection to play files straight off my computer or my Hard Drive.
My gf's Samsung omnia hd comes with a programme/application to do so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I do it via Resco Explorer, it has this feature build in. You can easily browse the content of your PC this way.

i used to use this, but since i got my HD2, i've been using Resco Explorer too! it's fantastic!

Network HD2
I've now got Resco Explorer after seeing this thread but still have no idea how to go about setting up the network.
Step by step instructions please, anyone?

You don't need 3rd party software for this - you can do it with file explorer.
Open file explorer
Do Menu, Goto, Open path, New path
Enter the shared folder name
Click OK
It's then available from the dropdown at the top left where you can change from device to storage card and back.

Network HD2
Hmmm... tried that, all seemed to go well, then it said it "cannot connect to server due to settings". Even though i'm connected via wifi and can get online thru various other programs!
Tried getting the internet settings from o2 UK and their website "cannot connect to this service at the moment" !
I think someone is trying to tell me not to do this!!
