How to change HTC IME locale? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Dear members,
I want to know how to change the HTC IME keyboard locale.
I once found a solution on this forum, but i can't find it anymore. It had to do something with pulling a file, changing a number and then push it back on the phone.
I want to change it to dutch locale.
Maybe there is another way around this? By installing a language pack or something?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance.

Did you try and download "More Locale" from the Android Market? It worked for me without a problem...

Help: xt9 is making me mad

Hello. I've flashed my qtek 8310 with WM6.1 Pro ROM by MietasSR and after many attempts I've installed a language pack to have italian xt9. Now the problem is that pressing * key let me change xt9 language, but when I try to write a message I can't obtain letters but numbers only even if xt9 or abc mode symbol are displayed at the top of screen. I have to make any registry change? Where?
Thanks

Suggestion for you and all. When posting an issue regarding a particular ROM you've just flashed. Post inside the thread for that ROM you flashed. That increases the chances of the cooker to read your post and other users who flashed same ROM could give you advice as well. I don't have an advise to this issue. I've read this problem one or more ROM's, not sure if MiestasSR is one of them. Good Luck

Hello. I've already posted my troubles in Miesta's ROM thread, but, as you said, this kind of problem could be indipendent by that particular ROM and could also be resolved by some expert that's not reading that specific discussion. Bye.
you first need italian mui, then goto this website and download the italian t9 library from here: http://melgurth.ovh.org/index.php?page=downloads (install it to device)

Thank you for your answer. I've already installed italian t9 library (that one you said too), but when I try to input letters in my messages I can write numbers only even if I select xt9 or abc mode. I think there has to be some registry voice regarding input to modify, but I don't know how, I've already readen t9 tutorials but cannot resolve my troubles.
brother, I know about your frustration.
First of all tell me have you installed the italian mui over your Windows Mobile ? have you installed any italian rom cooked from here, coz WWE some times become non responsive.
Why not give another rom a try (just like me, coz no one is giving me suggestions in my fail thread)
Just curious if you have isntalled your italian mui or not ?
There might be incampatibility with the WM rom too u r using

I made just a fresh ROM installation after normal upgrade routine (formatBINFS and so on) ...don't have installed other files.
Thanks for your response
you need italian mui first, then ur xt9 will work, since its the mui which allows u to type all the characters of ur locale + language interface to GUI.
You need italian mui first, I havent found any right now (googled). Then install xt9
otherwise find a WWE rom here (which in case i didnt find too in WM6.1)
why not try an older version of WM6 instead, i think andot did that pretty much older (WWE version)
I have found this localization cab, its for WM6 though
You may give it a try.
I recommend you CLEAR STORAGE first
then on fresh boot, install this cab file and then reboot. After that install xt9[/b]
Do come back to report if u got it success or not

Indonesian Language for SMS on HTC Legend

Does anyone know how to do that? I downloaded and installed already MoreLocale2 and the custom HTC_IME, but still can't use Indonesian as a language to use for sms.
Only the European languages and Chinese/Thai, which came originally with the phone, work.
I don't want to root, ideally I would just have to download an .apk or new IME file, but can't seem to find the right one. Can anyone help?
Oh yeah, if that helps, the SW Version is 1.37.707.2, bought in Singapore.
Thanks!
bump.....can anyone help?

[Q] Hebrew Keyboard for WP7 ?

Hi everyone i was just wandering if someone can create hebrew keyboard for wp7 i already seen a russian keyboard and i am willing to help in any way i can to translate or whatever.
You can do it by yourself (just a little knowledge about zipping/unzipping is required).
Read this post (translated by google) http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php%3Fs%3D88abb333742bc19895e0a65edd8e4c15%26showtopic%3D208488&act=url
Download xap:http://xdl3.4pda.ru/749136/RussianKeyboardForSamsung_1.1.0.0.xap
Open (unpack) xap and edit file RegistryPatch.xml - replace Cyrillic characters by Hebrew. Put edited file into xap back (replace the original). Deploy, apply solution and enjoy your own custom Hebrew keyboard (select English + Spanish in settings).
BTW, it will work on the Samsung handsets only. However guys who have an experience working with HTC dlls, can easily do HTC port (you just need to write some values to the registry).
P.S. 2 moderators: probably, this thread should be moved to the "Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking" or "General" forum. But it's a really useful hack ;-)
god bless you have a good year my friend i really appreciate you reply

You need to use a "com-bridge" to HTC's dll with public registry editing methods. Digg the corresponding threads on forum...

Check my answer.
BTW: AFAIK, Hebrew is RTL language (written from right to left). So, the Spanish (or any non-Arabic) language substitution will not help you. WP7 keyboard now supports only LTR input direction. Sorry...
P.S. Try to contact developer of Russian keyboard (on xda.ru forum), ask him about some flag(s) in registry to change text input direction (I believe RTL is available at WP7 Silverlight design)

I'm the author of RussianKeyboardForSamsung. I do have a new version that supports HTC devices as well. But I didn't manage to test it, because I don't have access to any european HTC WP7 phone (with spanish and french keybords). So if you want to take a risk and to play with the registry on your device, I can send the new version to you.
I can test it on HTC Surround and LG (if you decide to make LG version). Send it to sens dot boston at gmail dot com. Also, could you take a look to the registry to help Hebrew guys get RTL keyboard?
P.S. I'm Russian too

I would like to, but I haven't seen any LG libraries to access the registry. I will keep my eye on LG threads...

Unfortunately, my knowledge of the WP7 registry is based on the existing registry values only. But I will try to look into the TouchInput binaries.

blutz that's good to know , keep me posted please

If it's so easy to create a new keyboard, I don't understand why Microsoft don't support Hebrew. Especially when WP7 is also being developed in Israel. That's just plain rude.

You may also call it antisemitism
P.S. For your information: there is no RTL languages support in Mango, not just a lack of Hebrew support...

Hi mate.
It's a long shot, but it's worth trying to install More Locale 2. See if it works.
