Hello. I've flashed my qtek 8310 with WM6.1 Pro ROM by MietasSR and after many attempts I've installed a language pack to have italian xt9. Now the problem is that pressing * key let me change xt9 language, but when I try to write a message I can't obtain letters but numbers only even if xt9 or abc mode symbol are displayed at the top of screen. I have to make any registry change? Where?

Suggestion for you and all. When posting an issue regarding a particular ROM you've just flashed. Post inside the thread for that ROM you flashed. That increases the chances of the cooker to read your post and other users who flashed same ROM could give you advice as well. I don't have an advise to this issue. I've read this problem one or more ROM's, not sure if MiestasSR is one of them. Good Luck

Thank you for your answer. I've already installed italian t9 library (that one you said too), but when I try to input letters in my messages I can write numbers only even if I select xt9 or abc mode. I think there has to be some registry voice regarding input to modify, but I don't know how, I've already readen t9 tutorials but cannot resolve my troubles.

First of all tell me have you installed the italian mui over your Windows Mobile ? have you installed any italian rom cooked from here, coz WWE some times become non responsive.
Why not give another rom a try (just like me, coz no one is giving me suggestions in my fail thread)
Just curious if you have isntalled your italian mui or not ?
There might be incampatibility with the WM rom too u r using

Hi. No just xt9 multi language pack, ROM user interface language is English.

I made just a fresh ROM installation after normal upgrade routine (formatBINFS and so on) ...don't have installed other files.

you need italian mui first, then ur xt9 will work, since its the mui which allows u to type all the characters of ur locale + language interface to GUI.
You need italian mui first, I havent found any right now (googled). Then install xt9
otherwise find a WWE rom here (which in case i didnt find too in WM6.1)
why not try an older version of WM6 instead, i think andot did that pretty much older (WWE version)
I have found this localization cab, its for WM6 though
You may give it a try.
I recommend you CLEAR STORAGE first
then on fresh boot, install this cab file and then reboot. After that install xt9[/b]
Do come back to report if u got it success or not

Read upon it. The website contains all info for creating national layouts. Once you make your arabic layout you will be able to input in practically any application on you S710.

For those of you who are having problems reading messages (get blank messages) after installing and enabling a language pack:
Details follows... skip to the last if you do not want to bother.
First understand that the inbox uses HTML to display your messages, therefore, the settings for the display are located in IE and not in inbox itself.
When you install the language pack (arabic here), the encoding will be set to correspondent installed language, but that's no good as inbox will fail to decode the message header and it will show an empty message.
to solve this, set the option menu->tools->options->general->Encoding to Unicode(UTF-8) in Internet Explorer *AFTER* you setup the language, enable it, and restart.
After you change the encoding option, you must restart the messaging application (or the phone if you don't know how to stop an application).
After that, you will be able to view the messages in inbox and in the proper encoding.
thanx ppczouz, it worked for me. but as u know, arabic is right-to-left language. now it's left-to-right and each letter appears seperate. for example : the word "اهلا" appears "ا ل ه ا"

why you do not simply install the ARA ROM?
One reason for not installing Arabic ROM is having WM6.1 installed.
Sadek, the Arabic ligature should work properly. Since they are not working, I assumed that you did not install the CAB mentioned above.

There is no Greek ROM. You have (or you flash with) the WWE ROM and after that you install Greek language from here. Although it is useless if you have not bought your Kaiser from a Greek shop because ACE Hellas keeps a database for the greek devices and you can't install the update. (Don't even try because you will not avoid hard reset).

You don't need it, use English ROM's with some stuff so that you can write in Greek. It's better and faster.

Can you point some stuff you can use to write in Greek? I want to change to Dutty's touchflo rom but i want to be able to use QWERTY keyboard in greek. Also does anybody knows if the Ace Hellas Greek firmware update will work with Dutty's Touchflo rom?
You can use AEKMap for writing Greek with your Kaiser's keyboard...
There are other software to write Greek like Resco Keyboard...
Don't know if Ace Hellas Greek Patch works with ROMs other than factory ones.
Unfortunately there's no mapping for Greek for AEK map, that's a shame (or am I blind?)...

my Throttle II rom has greek regs for the Dual kayboard you only need to install the cab for the greek layout from my gullum.4shared.com

it only works with my rom or you need a rom that already hass the touch dual keyboard inside and has the regs for the layout.
that cab is only made for my rom

Would it be easy/possible for you to explain what exactly would be needed to install myself so that it would work? What is meant by "has the touch dual keyboard inside", and are the regs (registry settings?) available somewhere?

I tried making a cab of the kayboard itself .. meaning all files needed to get it to run and the regs but when instaling the cab it did not work but when coocked into the rom it works..
Ah well - thanks for trying anyway! I will try your ROM, although generally I prefer 'clean' roms (no such skins etc).

Hm it is a ROM.
You probably won't be able to get Arabic on 6.1, because there are no localization available. Neither Arabic nor any other language (well, except English of course)!

how the other roms contain most of the languages ... like Dr. Gonzo's and Secable .....
Btw i'm using secable's rom
Hm secable's ROM is 6.0 and Dr. G's 6.1 ROM does only contain English. Otherwise you might add eT9 languages and keyboard layouts, but that's it for 6.1. Using the ARA ROM and secable's ROM, you might be able to cook them together, I don't know if NEO works with ARA.
Hmmmm ... ok .. can u tell how the procedures to do that .. or any link to guide me ???

I have downloaded and tried to install it to my vox but it did not work ... I originally had WM 6.0 without the Arabic which I would have loved to have as well but it froze while installing and when I reset my phone it went back to its original 6.0 Rom and still no Arabic ...can you help please. Also I was wondering if your 6.5 Rom supports Arabic? Thanks again for all your work.

YEs ... Flash a rom and the language its changed too... if you flash an english rom to you whatever language treo .. .it will become english interfaced

So you're saying that non of the roms has a sort of language pack, the language you can choose from.
It's not like start>settings>system>regional settings where you can choose from.
I've looked around in this forum and saw a rom cooker, it's just a thought but, is it posible to open a rom and change the language and recook it????
Cause i've exedently downloaded an "all languagepack" cause i was interested in the dutch languagepack (0413), but don't know how to install it (without cooking).
Thought you could install it like a .cab file, but not....
And me not being a chef with cooking experience....

to change the language from english to Germany you also have to change registry settings
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI\CurLang and change the value 409 to 407 or try another value for your language.
hopefully this can be more helpful
