TyTN : problem with the touch screen

Hi,
I've just received my TyTN today and I'm not very satisfied concerning the touch screen.
I don't know what is happening but the touch screen does NOT respond properly. I've tried to clean it a bit, but the result remains the same.
When I want to use the screen keyboard, it's horrible. I point the letter A and the screen understands that I'm touching the letter under or the letter just near the "A". It's pretty impossible to write a text properly and very hard to open programs or browse with the touch screen.
Of course I've tried to align the screen. It's working without any problem then.
But after some times, opening apps, closing others (using normally the pda inf act), the problem comes back... the TyTN does't really understand where I'm touching the screen.
Then I make a screen alignement, and it's working back... It's just amazing
I don't think it's a hardware problem because the alignement is working after an align screen.
Maybe it's a known error ? Has somebody the same problem ??
Is there a rom update to fix that ? Or is it a problem of my own HTC ?

I had the same thing, once, with my variO. Probably I pushed too hard onto the screen while cleaning.

Actually, this is a known problem with some of the first shipment devices. Look at the other TyTn topics i this forum.

How do you bypass first setup/screen alignment?

I've got a MDA which has a broken lcd. Its just cracked slightly, but still displays fine. I did a Clear Storage and now the phone has reset and is giving me the "tap here to set up your device" wizard. I need to bypass this and any screen alignment that may come up since the LCD touch feature no longer works. I've done it before when I got the phone, but I cant find the thread nor remember the steps.
Any help is appreciated.

you really can't. i heard theres a way you can flash a rom where the config has already been done, but i don't remember where i saw it

create a file on the root of your storage card called welcome.not

Just create a file named WELCOME.NOT on your storage card and do a hard reset.

HI , I had this problem with all my old crashed PPC ,,, so delete this file and reboot ,,, /Windows/Startup/Welcome.exe
U can use the "Activesynce Explorer to browse the Windows Directory

use "Remote screen alignment" tool and bypass your start screen easily. search this tool in forum. you will get it easily..

THANK YOU SO MUCH kfletch and le_cactus. I'm not sure which of these worked since I did both but the welcome screen FINALLY went away. it took a while. i had to install the Mobiler software and I had problems getting my ActiveSync up but I created the welcome file by going to the desktop of my pc, right click, new , text document, i changed the default name "New Text Document.txt to Welcome.not" then I right clicked to copy it. Next---Once the Microsoft Activesync came up, I clicked on Explore --> My Windows Based Device ---> Storage Card then I selected paste to paste the welcome.not file. After this it gets a little tricky because your device has to sync again to filter the file back down to the phone. This took a while. Then after a few resets, the Mobiler software finally read 'connected', then it gives you a screen shot of your mobile device, i did a soft reset a few MORE times and it worked. It's not as cut and dry as previous posts made it sound. it's a pain in the butt.
My touch screen (T-Mobile Wing) stopped working after I used it in the bathroom while in the bathtub (I don't know what the heck I was thinking), well later that day the screen stopped working and the genius at tech support had me do a hard reset and software upgrade, which did NOT help. (whatever you do, don't call tech support, especially if the white dot beneath the battery is another color---you're screwed!!!)--AFTER tech support messes up your phone they won't bother to help you if they think it's due to water damage! I'm going to see if I can locate the forum regarding reloading the touch screen drivers. I think that may be the problem.

how do you select "YES" when mymobiler tries to install on the phone?
my screen is also broken, and i bypassed the welcome screen, but when i tried to install mymobiler, i cannot let the phone install remote.exe
any help?

Buy a not broken screen

HTC TYTN(Hermes 200)
Hi there i have an HTC TYTN, happens that i'm suposed to have the same problem (maybe broken screen).
The phone was working fine untill today.
I can't bypass the screen alignment; i tryed both ways.
What can i be doing wrong?

Bypassing with "logic"

In my case; i found a way to bypass it.
My screen has a 4mm scratch in the top left of the screen.
so i just pressed the bottom of the cursor (NOT IN THE MIDDLE WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO PRESS - "in the top left cursor" - where the scratch is)
after that i could use my phone again.
Also after this try finding the correct registry screen alignment and save it.
It will work properly.

welcome.not works for TyTN II with unresponsive touch screen . Blank micro SD card with just one blank file welcome.not. You can insert the sd card just before you hard reset

It worked in OMNIA II and passed the screen calibration..Thanks a lot guys!!!

help me stuck in bootloader

hi all
i got a magician from a friend to play with but when i got it i only saw it starting up and then by align screen it would boot further
ive went to the wiki and checked ive i could find the combo for hard reseting this phone(whitout succes) i managed to find how to get in bootloader so i checked it
when i go in the bootloader my screen doesnt light on(is this normal because my other devices do this)
further it says v1.02 on the bottom of the screen
now ive tried to insatl the dutch t mobile rom from the wiki but i get a connection error
now ive seen that updating this phone doesnt go like on a blackstone\rhodium and it has something to do with a sd card in it?
i have the gap for sd card but not one in it(is this nessacary?)
after the connection errors i cant even see the align screen anymore it goes straight to bootloader when i press only the on button and getting out the battery for a minute and put it back in also brings me to the boortloader when i press the power button:S (now its working and i can get to align screen again:S)
can someone please help me fix this phone

You have Rome. You need from T-Mobils Rome:
- ms_. nbf
- nk.nbf
- radio_. nbf
All that in the folder suspended below copy. The device in the boat mode bring (On top the left and right key + power) Then you are able to do him flashen.

got a exe file to use but going to try to extract it when im home and hope i get those files from it

tried it a couple of times but i always get this message
btw in bootloader it says v1.02 on the bottom
and strating in bootloader doesnt work at all for updating because the program doesnt see the phone:S
i have to get it started up to the point of align screen then connect it to comp with activesync
then i got those screens
when i start the phone i see the next things on the phone in spalsh screen

i dont have a memorycard in it dont know ive thats nessacary

If is a Magician. The mistake 101 means which does not fit the ID. What you can still try to protect your Rome and more than 416 bits, a Big Storage Rome to flashen. You can make this everything about memory map. You find instructions here.

Align Screen Problem

after i flash my htc 3g to a new ROM, i get stuck on the align screen.... ==
and then i try to create a "welcome.not" file on my storage card, and after that i manage to get through the welcome page to enter my window...
but now the problem is.... the sensor on the screen is not properly function.... is like, when i press number 2, it appear as number 8, is kind like upside down, and yet not fully coverage....as there is some place below do not response at all....
and then i try to use the "remote screen alignment" to lauch the "align screen" via my pc....
but now the problem is.... i cant get through the align screen.... ==
jz like before, i follow the instruction properly, but it jz keep repeating the align screen pages.... i get stuck there....
kind of frustructed....
can someone help me???

maybe you have a digitizer problem (i.e. the touch screen sensor) , check up your device.

Remote Screen Alignment by code factory
If the alignment program is the problem, try using Remote Screen Alignment by code factory would help you bypass the alignment screen.

Sometimes it is not a sofware issue,
Had it before when my unit fell and the connector from the lcd/touch screen came a
little bit loose. If you have the nick to open your unit you can tighten it up with a little
cleaning using eraser and then put it back snugly.

Ok guys.
So i have a magichian with a broken LCD and i just updated to the most advanced Cotulla's rom version.
the issue now is that the Remote Aligment tool is not working and SoTi Remote tool will not install.
Do i realy have to downgrade to wm5 until i get the screen fixed?
Because with the wm5 both mentioned tools work.

that is hardwear fault.
Clean your display riban path(oxide)When you can Fix this fault.
