Help with Error 260 on Wizard update

Hi, help please...
I have Wizard G3 with TNT 5 Touch Flow and tried to update radio T-mobile UK 2.19 Radio Only. update went OK but now on loading I see HTC boot screen then it moves to TNT 5.0 screen and then fades in two minutes and starts back with HTC boot screen. It then circulates like that for ever without passing to the Today screen. On connection with PC for new update with any rom it shows: Error (260) update error. What can be done?

it's a case of bad flash,did anything during flash happened like lose usb connectivity,pc crashed,battery discharged or something like unusual ?
Try to soft reset and see if it works,otherwise you'll have to reflash to official carrier's rom in boodloader mode,
1. Disconnect your phone from the usb cable,shut down any firewall,disable any Anti virus,Reboot your PC.
2. On your Desktop PC, open Microsoft ActiveSync, then go to File >Connection Settings >Remove the Selection from “Allow USB Connection with this desktop computer”
3. On your PC Open windows Task Manager...>Tab Processes...>wescomm.exe...>End process
4. Power off the phone completely (Not stand-by,shut off completely),or you may take the battery out for few seconds
5. Make sure your phone is not Connected to the PC via USB cable and remove the dummy Sdcard or mini-Sd card
6. Get your phone into Bootloader mode (Multicolor screen) by pressing camera button + Power on button
7. Reconnect your phone to the Desktop PC using the USB Cradle and the Charger MUST be Connected to the Cradle (Be sure that your battery is charged over 70%)
8. "USB"will appear on the bottom of the screen of the Bootloader (Multicolor screen)
9. Run the Upgrade again and it will work fine without any problems.
10.Never use Bluetooth sync for the Upgrade
While upgrading, the ActiveSync program will not go on, however the upgrade is running.Please be patient when you're flashing your device, even if 98%. It can wait a little bit, 5 ~ 7 minutes.
Don't cancell the flash or get the phone off the usb cable till it confirms "Congratulations" or stops with an Error!!!

Hi, this is the first time i saw a Paki guy on this web. I know there is alot of talent in IT profession in Pakistan. Anyway its good to see u here and i got a relief that with the help of a senior member like you i can get my phone work again.
To cut the chase, I have X01HT by Softbank Japan. It is Herms200 by HTC Japanese WM5 ROM. I have installed Asukal's English MUI and it was working fine for me. Now i'm planning to visit Pakistan this month so i though to unlock the sim and i used Prof v3a to unlock. I've successfully unlocked the sim and i guess CID also. When i use some other carrier's sim, i can receive the calls but cant make the calls out coz Softbank rom has a security which comes at screen and ask for password and dont let me do anything on the PDA. After studying alot on this forum i figured that i need to change the rom to get rid of that password message. i used the Olipro's Hard SPL and got bootloader 2.10 Olipro. I checked the other necessary stuff and when satisfied i started rom update. I end up with the same message of Error 260. Now my phone has no OS and it starts at bootloader. i tried everything possible like i make sure to remove all firewalls on my PC, used all the versions of Activesync and everything possible that i could. I trust that there is nothing wrong with the ROM etc but it is with connection.
Now if i update to the original ROM, i'm afraid that it will also upgrade my Bootloader and could never be able to flash english rom. I'm really depressed for the last three days and loosing sleep as well. I trust that you or any other senior member can help me with this.

8125 rom update
i have tried to do a rom update on my 8125 g4. i recently purchased it off ebay and i have two problems. the reason i want to update it is because when i try to enable the wifi my device freezes. the other problem is that i can not seem to get the phone into boot loader mode. i have tried :
-turning the phone off and holding the camera button as i turn it on.
-holding the camera button and pluging it in to a usb port.
- using wizard service tool to enter boot loader mode.
after each of these different attempts i had to either remove the battery for 3 secs or hold the reset button for a few seconds before i can turn it back on. the phone still turns and just i can not use the wifi

Yes!!! Thank you! your instructions worked for me and got me past the Error [260] with my 8125 .

I've always had troubles flashing radios for some reason, I've managed to just not do it but now with Duttys 6.1 out I really need some help
- I've flashed Duttys latest successfully
- I've flashed HardSPL
- But whenever I flash the radio (1.64.08.21) I get a connection error at 99%!!
Now I can still get into the phone using mtty and the boot command.
Am I doing something stupid -- Any help gratefully received!

I'm a newbie been here with a AT&T Tilt less than a week and I promise I'm reading, but I'm having the exact same problem. Flashed Duttys dual V4 as my first try last Tuesday without a problem and of course be a crazy new guy I wanted his newest work. So I flashed Duttys 6.1 today and I guess I just can't figure out how to flash radios, because I've tried 2 now and both error out at 99% and I too have to use mtty to get back into the phone. I'll keep reading, but if someone could tell us new guys what the heck we are doing wrong that would be great.
PS I'm glad to be here and this looks like a lot on fun thanks for having me and look forward to helping out someday.

Hey Alex! I figured it out Brother! Do this and you should be able to upgrade your radio. I was using JumpSPL1.56-KAIS run from my device and I was running into the same problem everytime I tried to upgrade my radio. Would get to 99% and then would error out. So I followed these steps taken from a number of different post and put together until it worked!
1) Make sure you have JumpSPL1.56-KAIS somewhere on your device the file for me is in "my docs" on my Tilt.
2) Run kaiser-HardSPL from your PC with your device hooked up via usb with the green act sync icon. Once you get to the white screen of death on you device, stop unplug you device and soft boot it via your stylus and the reset button. Leave your pc alone right where it stopped in the kaiser-hardspl screen. "should be to the point where it says unplug and replug in your usb you should have the tri color screen press enter to proceed"
3) Now set your connection settings in active sync to not allow usb connections.
4) Now plug you device by in via usb and run Jumpspl1.56-kais on your device. When it has the tri color screen and says usb, unplug usb and plug back in.
5) Now back in the kaiser-hardspl window, continue on with the on screen directions. This should now install hardspl just like the rom or roms that you might have already installed and will say finished.
6) The device should reboot.
7) close the kaiser-hardspl window and let you device fully reboot.
8) Once it is fully rebooted follow these directions: Perform a soft reset, when the screen goes blank hold the camera button until a multi colored screen comes up
9)Now run your radio update and it should go through without erroring out at 99%. It will stay at 99% for a bit then jump to 100% success!
My Tilt is working great now with sound and everything. Have not tested anything else yet, came right here and started to let you know what I did to get radio installed.
So now I'm running Duttys WM6.1 newest release with radio 1.64.06.
Call me crazy and sure I know I might have taken more steps than I needed to, but I got it working.

First, are you using a 6.0 rom or a 6.1 rom? If you are using a 6.0 rom you cannot flash any of the 6.1 radios and vice versa. Also, if you have hardspl installed, why would you need to use jumpspl. I have never used jumpspl and I promise I have flashed 50+ times counting, roms, radios and splash screens.

I believe that was my problem, I was never able to get Hard-spl installed and I was using jumpspl to install the 2 roms that I have installed since I got my tilt a week ago. The method I used above allowed me to get hard-spl installed and then I was able to install the radio rom. I am using Duttys WM6.1 rom.

Ok I had actually done everything upto the final step (holding the camera button after a soft reset) but that made it possible to flash the radio just as you described.

You need to use MTTY to get things going for you again, here is the thread to get mtty:

Search around and see if you can find the step by step to use it, might even be a how to text file in the zip file not sure. This should get you back on your way.
Can someone locate the step by step to use mtty for this man and put it in this post?

Absolutely death?

I tried some new ROMs (by Tomal, luca16thebig, VNInt...) and after upgraging to Cotulla latest version Uni crashed!
Now it only can boot in to hard reset mode (LEFT softkey + RIGHT softkey + RESET), no another activity. PC can't recognize device.
I tried to disable USB connection in ActiveSync and used Multi TTY/ExitBT. These tools couldn't connect to device (mtty says "\\.\WCEUSBSH001 port can not open").
(Uni in that moment was in hard reset mode)
How can i repair device?

Go into bootloader mode (on/off button, light button, and reset hole all at once) make sure your sd card is out, and try to flash again with cotulla rom! dont forget to read his instructions to go back to normal roms and allow time for rom to set up, dont hard reset after you flash!!!!

Yep.
I move out SD (SDHC) and SIM cards.
Tried flash again - when PC program usually show previous version and new version right now it show empty fields. When it start to flash it show "Error 112: CE ROM UPDATE ERROR" message.

When my Uni is bricked I boot into the bootloader with the "Serial"-string. Then I put my SDHC out of the device and then it says "USB".
Every flash worked very well.

I can't force it to show "Serial"-string

Try this
Cotulla ROM is different.Memory allocation is different.
1.Remove SD card and always remove the SIM card.Very important.
2.First uncheck the 'allow USB connection' in active sync or WMDC[if VISTA].
Close active sync/WMDC in task manager.
3.Put Uni in BOOTLOADER.[Power+Backlight+Soft reset].
4.Run mtty.Click on USB.
5.Type 14 0 [ there is a single space between 14 and 0],press enter.
Wait ....
6.Type task 32 [there is a single space between task and 32],press enter
Wait....
7.Type task 28 55aa [ there is a single space between 28 and 55,and no space between 55 and aa],press enter
Wait...
8.When the desktop finishes the work..usually takes 5-10 seconds..close mtty.
9.Disconnect Uni...which is still in BOOTLOADER...
10.Go to active sync/WMDC and check 'allow USB connection'.
11.Flash with a WM5 ROM..I had KDSkamal's Ultimate ROM.
12.You should have got Uni back.
13.Then upgrade it to any ROM you want..6.0,6.1etc...if you want to.
Honestly speaking I don't know what the heck these procedures are,but if you do this STEP by STEP it works like a charm.

And can you please tell whether you can PUT the UNI in the BOOTLOADER by pressing POWER+BACKLIGHT+SOFT RESET simultaneously?
Because I have read almost all the threads regarding STUCK uni and I never came across one with a screen like yours.
On the second thought...press Backlight+Soft reset simultaneously...what do you see?

The image you are showing us is "Hard reset" what you want is bootloader. you get boot loader as we described above, once you have it in boot loader it is easy to get your uni back. In bootloader it will say serial or USB if it is plugged in at the top and V1.01 or V2.01 or something like those numbers at the bottom on a grey unlit screen.

1. If i press zero, Uni show "Cleaning now" message and after about 3 seconds turn off;
2. When i press POWER+BACKLIGHT+SOFT RESET there is no any results. What this keystrokes mean? I didn't know it before;
responderman i can't send command via mtty cause it don't wanna to open USB port.

What do you mean by that.
1.You cannot enter the bootloader

2.You don't know what the bootloader is?
And did you uncheck usb connection in AS,remove SD and SIM during MTTY....just to be sure

5 minutes and new rom installed successfull.

Kaiser stuck on green WM6.1 clear memory screen

I have a Kaiser which I updated a while ago with WM6.1 official Belgian dutch. Since it became way to slow, I wanted to hard reset the device. Since a couple of hours, it has been stuck on the green WM screen saying The device is erasing the memory, Please wait...
I have been looking through the forum, but have not found the same issue.
It does not come up in acctive sync, so a normal relaod is not possible. Any ideas?

manually go into bootloader if you want to reflash the rom, if phone is powered on hold camera button in and the softreset button at the same time! it sounds like you possibly have had a bad flash, OR you had a bad download!!!

Not possible to flash anything
what I've tried so far:
- activate active sync to install hardSPL. Not working
- install HardSPL through microSD. Not working
- install ROM through SD. Not working
I tried a non HCSD for a change, and then I see the loading scree flashing up, but quickly says No rom found and returns to the bootloader screen.
The only thing that works is load the bootloader (red green blue white) into a screen that says:
KAIS130
SPL-3.29.0000
CPLD-8
Serial
When connected to USB, it says USB, but no disk is showing in Explorer or any connection is made to AS
The only thing I've done in the past is flash the 6.1 rom through the system provided by HTC with a file called RUU_Kaiser_HTC_NLD_3.29.404.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship.exe
Please help, I really like this phone and hate to loose it

put it into bootloader, connect it to the computer and then flash one of the htc roms. make sure its an htc rom, you cant flash a custom rom cause you dont have hardspl

I have not been able to find the original rom, only the exe from htc which says Connect with active sync. Do I have to set it in bootloader and then execute the program?

Just want to let you know I sorted it out!
Flashing the original rom does not need active sync, the bootloader USB connection is sufficient.
After this, the phone restarted in 'Erasing memory' mode, but was able to finish it and reinstall the whole rom.
I believe I got the taste of it and will start testing some other roms...

stuck during boot, do not know what to do

...I hope that you can help. Some years ago, I have flashed my polaris from o2. i then got myself an iphone and some new computers (using vista now instead of xp), so that I do not have any of the old files that I used back then to flash the phone. my father was using the xda for quite a while now. however, suddenly the device is not working any more: if you turn it on, the boot screen will appear, but then it is stuck and nothing is happening (even no rom info in the lower right corner). also a hard reset doesn't help to overcome this problem.
what I am trying now is to flash it, because I guess (and hope) that this might help. But, to be honest, I completely forgot how this works. I downloaded an original rom from this website today, but I cannot flash it to the device (stuck at 0%, getting an communication problem error). If I turn on the phone with camera button pressed down, the tricolor-screen appears reading POLA200, SPL-3.13.0000, CPLD-2. what am I doing wrong? your help is greatly appreciated.

Try flashing the rom from the tricolour-screen just make sure at the bottom of the tricolour-screen it say's usb not serial.
You will only be able to flash official roms as you don't have a stock spl not hard-spl.

however, I now downloaded the rom from the original o2-site and it is at the moment in the process of flashing it - let's cross fingers.
damn, it did not work. I mean, the flashing succeeded, but the problem still persists: if I start the device, the start-screen appears, but that's it - nothing happens afterwards, and after some seconds, the device turns itself off again.
what could that be?

Could be the battery if the device turns itself off,try booting with the charger or usb still in.Or flash hard spl and try a different rom.

hi all friends if you are stuck on 0% and u cant install spl then do this ,,,
You can try this:
1. Stop ActiveSync
2. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete) on your PC and
stop these two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. Plug in your device via USB. Your computer should be asking install a driver. Install and continue.
4. Now Run mtty and choose USB in 'PORT'
4. type "set 16 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
5. type "task 8" to get your device formatted.
6. Now unplug your device and manually reset it.
