Hi all i'm running NRG Leo on my topaz and have noticed a really annoying but, i have set my emails u to sync with my work server but the timestamp on the emails is completely wrong! I have 200+ emails all stamped within 5 seconds of each other, when i know thay they're spread over a month or 2. If you need any more information i'll be happy to provide it.

I'm posting this here since it's more of a general WM5 question...
I'm very happy with the new ROM for my HTC Wizard, and Push Email especially.
However, in Microsofts infinite wisdom I am not alerted when new e-mail arrives in subfolder to the main Inbox (however, I am alerted when I get new email in the main inbox). I'm not very surprised since Outlook 2000/XP/2003 works the same way, but it is very annoying having unread e-mail I don't know about.
Is there a program or a ToDay-plugin or a registry setting or anything that enable alerts for new e-mail in subfolders?
*bump*
I would very much like to have this feature as well. I receive emails when servers go down, and I have an Outlook rule setup to send the email to a subfolder under my Inbox. I do not receive any notifications when I get emails in those subfolders. Did anybody ever figure out a way to get this working? I have a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard).
I am sorry to bring up this old thread but I have the exact same question I seach around and didn't find anything. I also seach HF and seem like no one know if notificiation for sub folder is possible.
Can someone verifiy if getting email notification for sub folders is possible? I have a 8125 running wwm6 rom.
bump up to the top - looking for the same feature.
I am looking for this same feature. I am using emoze to sync my inbox and a few subfolders. I am using a AT&T Tilt (HTC kaiser) with WM 6.
So there is still no solution to this ?
It is a "feature" of Outlook.
Desktop and Mobile versions do not notify the system that subfolders have received a message. Desktop 2003 used to do this, and then it was removed.
I don't have a workaround for the Mobile version. On the Desktop, I use search folders instead of subfolders. It sucks, but it works.
The reason subfolders don't notify, is that most subfolders are used for non-important messages (i.e. spam, or system notifications). I get over 200 emails an hour about servers being up/down. So, I get a lot of notices. However, using subfolders, I never saw anything!!!
Yes I understand the rationale behind the 'feature'. But I have important mail in the subfolders. Unfortunately at this time there seems to be nothing we can do.
I was hoping a registry entry which would let us add a subfolder path or something like that.
Voice Command Will Tell You (sometimes)
I think there must be an event that can be trapped if someone (more capable than I) can cobble together a few lines of code.
I have MS Voice Command with the JetWare bluetooth addon. On my 8125 running WM5, I would get the read-out-loud notifications for mail delivered to subfolders. I've recently upgraded to a Tilt with WM6 and this bug/feature doesn't repeat.
I think this is a feature that many "power users" would appreciate... at least as an option.
Have a look at SPB Diary. This can show your emails on the today screen...including subfolders that you choose.
Did anyone ever find a better solution to this?
I saw people asking the same question here: http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?p=1409571

I'm sure there's loads of other places where this has been suggested. It just seems like an obvious feature to me, especially if you are promoting WM6 as a business tool.

Too many notifications...
On a related note, this question:
My Hermes (AT&T 8525, WM5) alerts me when new mail arrives... that's no problem. However, If I don't stop and read it then, the next time it syncs it notifies me again about the same mail. Is there any way to set this up so that it will only sound a notification when something *NEW* comes in?

Device type: HTC T-Mobile Wing with WM6 Professional, CE 5.2.1235 (Built 17740.0.2.0).
I have a question about this device, it is about the calendar. Now, beside the Outlook Email that you can sync with your computer/lap top, I have of course other emails account on the WING. When I am on the go, other coworkers can send emails to my Wing. When I have to remember to do something and I am on the go all I do I create a meeting in the calendar in my lap top (different work email) and I send invite request to the email of the Wing. When I receive the email on the Wing I accept the calendar event, and that event goes directly in the calendar of the Wing. Only problem the reminder is not set to go off, and I won't go off. I tried everything and double-checked all the settings. If I create a calendar event directly in the Wing, then the reminder is set to go off by default, as you can choose in the options of the calendar. But if I receive a calendar via email, it will not get the reminder to go off, as I would expect. I must say that I had the MDA previously and it was working just fine: I used to send emails all the time to my MDA so that I would remember to do things while out of the office. Keep in mind, my laptop has the working email where I receive about 1000 emails per day: I don't sync my Wing with that email; I have a different profile/email for my Wing. I hope the explanation was clear. Please let me know what the hell is wrong. Thank you for your help.
Paul.
come on!
Is it possible that nobody found my post interesting enough to post an answer? Don't tell me that nobody has a different email on the PDA so that he can actually receive emails while on the go, instead of relying on the exchange server.... please someone help me!!
OK now sometimes I get emails forwarded to me as attachments and these attachments arrive in .eml format which I have had no problems opening and then replying to once opened when using any WM operating system before 6.1, but you guessed it I am having problems with this on any windows mobile running 6.1 that I use, the 'reply' and 'reply all' options are greyed out and the only option I get is 'forward' which is a bit of a pain as it means I then have to enter the address of the person I am sending the email to and change the subject so they dont think I am forwarding on an email. If anyone knows of a fix or a reason why this is happening then I would be grateful to hear from you as I am considering selling both my HTC Diamond and also HTC S740 handsets as I use this feature on a regular basis.
Hello Community,
maybe you can help me. I have a HTC Touch Pro 2, and i like it, but since years i have the same problem with all windows mobile devices:
when i want syncing my e-mails (Via imap) and with outlook mobile it takes sooo much time until i get the e-mails. i had 1500 e-mails so i deleted 1000. now i have just 540 e-mails and it still needs almost the same long time.
is this problem known? is there any fix available, a registry tweak or something like that to fix this awful problem?
i would be very pleased if you could help me
ps: i dont want to use other e-mail programs because they are never as good implemented as the original from microsoft...
greetings from germany

Does nobody has a answer for me? i think there are more windows mobile people in the world experiencing this problem.
greets
Why do you sync all the 540 e-mails from outlook ? Make "Ordner" and sync allways the newest. Is your rom orig. ?
First, I think this belongs in the Q&A forum(?)
Second, I agree it is slow, but only during the initial sync after creating the email account in the phone. If you want to avoid this delay, just use PIMBackup to restore your emails to the account on the phone directly. Other suggestions would be to:
1. Reduce the number of emails synced to the phone, i.e. select the last 30 days, etc.
2. Reduce the size of the emails by syncing only parts of the message, not the entire message.
3. Reduce the max size of attachements or don''t sync them.
4. Sync emails as regular text, not html. (But I don't know if this really improves speed...)
This also depends a lot on your bandwidth so check your signal strength, and compare sync speeds between WiFi, 3G, ActiveSync passthru, etc. I did have some problems with authentication on previous 6.1 ROMS where poutlook kept re-trying to login to the account and would stall forever, but haven't seen this in the latest builds.
This is no way is DEV. so please don't post it here.
Moved to Q&A.

Hi there,
Since I bought my first android phone year ago, I'm looking for good email client without any success. I'm subscriber of many mailing lists, so every day I receive hundred mails. I'm looking for client which can sort incoming messages into separate folders, show emails in threads, and have an option to answer below quoted text.
I tried:
MailDroid - looks good, conversation view and sorting works in newest version, but something is wrong with marking messages as read and inside thread newest mails are on the top.
ProfiMail - Very good functionality, It can show full threads tree! but looks like a prehistoric application, and price... 20$ per device.
K-9 Mail - there is not threading view. There is an issue on forum and 250 people starred it, but no hope... Issue is about one year old.
AquaMail - there is not threading view.
Enchanced Mail - there is not threading view also.
Any ideas? I don't believe nobody don't need functionality like in every desktop mail client.
I started to think, about Ubuntu on my TF101, because of mail client application.... it's unbelievable...
