Hey,
I am in desperate need for a new cell phone, as my old HTC wizard died.
I am looking for a phone that can also support GPS software, such at TomTom or iGo. It was no problem running iGo or TomTom on the wizard. The Vox seems to have the same processor so, it should run fine.
My only concern is the lack of the touch screen. Will this be a big problem?
How it the lack of a touchscreen with daily WM6 operations. I am actually looking for a device that does not have a touchscreen, but I think WM is designed to have a touchscreen.
Also can you recommend a place where you purchased your device?
Please give me any comments you may have.
Thanks,
I bought a I-MATE JAQ4 from a software developer about 8 months ago. I guess this model never went into production, and the phone is a prototype. I-MATE quit the JAQ line. Oh well.
Anyway, anybody know what alternative OS builds I can install on this thing? I am guessing it is not too much different than the JAQ3, it just has WM6 on it.
Any insightful information about this device would be appreciated.
Thanks.
*bump*.....
Imate Jaq4
I also have a the Imate JAQ4 (which is a prototype) - I have been in touch with Imate (via their site) apparently the model is due for release anytime now in this country.
Try checking out the site for suitable downloads.
The only problem I have now encountered is finding a replacement battery - I had to do a hard reset on my unit and since then the battery wont charge (unless any one out there knows a way to jump start the battery back to life).
Everywhere I have tried that advertise compatable batteries do not seem to carry any stock.
I am not sure what is going on with the I-Mate JAQ4, however...
Isn't the same as the Pharos Traveler M619 (http://www.pharosgps.com/products/proddetail.asp?prod=001%5FPTL619%5F7%2E9&cat=136 )? I got one, pretty good, but slow processor and low memory (very similar to the Dash, at least it seems to me, but with bigger screen, touch screen and gps, )
There currently not much support in the way of firmware upgrades, but they did release version 6.1 a while back.
GPS refuse SD CARD ,WHY?
my configuration: 2G MICRO SD WITH ADAPTER
when i launch GPS , sd disappear and can't be accessed. i have to plug out and insert again.
why?
there is some patch for this bug .
thanks
I hav recently succeeded in upgrading my dopod 818 pro to wm6.1 rom (prophet shadow 2.0 TE) but after the upgrade i hav seen tht my dopod takes a much longer time to load now then before. And sometimes when im using the phone the phone speaker fails to function. I notice this mostly when i get a call nd i dont hear my phone ringing although i keep all volumes full. Please advice me on how to get a performance advantage after the upgrade nd advice me on how to solve the volume issue.

Hi,
Quite some time ago I bought a life license for Wayfinder navigator. It was working fine on my SE P900. And I love it always uptodate maps and the fact that you can report error in maps and get them fixed within a couple of weeks. At least before it wa bought by Vodafone.
Now I want to run it on HTC Blackstone. The problem is that the version I bought is for WM2003, and Blackstone runs on WM 6.1. After a few efforts I managed to install it and it runs quites good. The problem is that it a bit slow. It switches slow between screens, informes about the turns a bit late, and it takes a good quarter of a minute to switch it off. I have an impression that it runs slower than on my old SE P900.
I wonder if it is related to the fact that WM 6.1 is not optimized for WM2003 programs?
Any ideas if it is possible to make it run faster?
New to the site and have never upgraded the ROM on my Orange E650 (still running original ROM version 1.35.61.1). Just had it sim unlocked by jockyw2001 as I need to port my number over to another provider due to signal issues.
Have read through some of the posts and am interested in flashing it with one of the WM6.5 ones. Could you tell me which one is the most stable? The only applications I use on the phone are the browser and skype although only for IM as the call quality is very poor even when using the wifi connection.
Thanks,
i use wm 6.1 v1.1(from Dr. Martin Gonzo). is the most stable and fast in my opinion. whit default home screen, it take about 2 seconds to rotate image when sliding. so..is the faster for me. i recomand it! the wm6.5 ones take higher to rotate screen with the 6.5 home screen
Thanks I'll give that a try this weekend.
Hi Sfan1, I am using fireburned's WM6.5Clean3.1 since a half year on my Vox allmost without any problems (bluetooth handsfree in my car sometimes make trouble, but not often). I think standby time is normal (I tired other ROM's and it is nearly the same - WLAN need much power, without using WLAN standby time is okay (okay not comparable with Nokia), Titanium homescreen is nice, and in total it is a very good ROM.
