Hello,
My touchscreen stopped working from day to night. I tryed to reset it and stuff, but i wont work, just the touchscreen! The buttons work!
I tought, ok, lets reinstall WM and it will be OK, but the point is, while reinstalling it, in my HTC apeears on the screan YES/NO to say if I let the application run, but the YES/NO just work if touched, the buttons, left right up or down wont select.
I dunno what to do, help please? ;D
Is there a way to make it work again, or reinstall windows without having to selct YES/NO?
Thanks!
@UPDATE: Ok, I manage to reinstall WM 6.1 but my touchscreen wont work... at the begining it sayd: Tap the screen...
But when I touch nothing happens, my touchscree wont work... any suggestions? =/
Soft or hard reset both didn't work? You can try to reinstall your os, if not you can upgrade the mobile phone. If all of these don't work, you should get a new touchscreen for the phone....
I tryed both ways and nothing =/

It seems you need a new touchscreen. Go to the nearest phone store and they will fix it for you. Good luck.

I installed several programs on my Cruise and unfortunately the device cannot be turned off anymore.
If I hold the button on top of the device and hold it, you get the message that you are turning the device off....but it puts it in hibernate....
I don't really know which program caused the problem, since I seldom turn my phone off. So in the 2 weeks I have the phone, I tried to turn it off only once.
In the beginning the button worked...but now...not anymore.
I know I can try a hard reset, but I am reluctant...since I have to install everything again.
The software I installed were:
SBSH PocketBreeze (uninstalled it)
PZP tools (uninstalled it)
BatteryStatus Advanced
SPB Diary
HTC Home Customizer
At least these are the programs of which I think could have caused the problem.
Does anybody know how to correct this, without hardresetting?
Same situation for me .....
Maybe HTC HomeCustomizer ???
you can try soft reseting the device with the stylus and see once it is back on if the problem persists. then u might want to try uninstalling the last application u installed to see if it makes a difference.

I have used HTC Home Customizer and do not have this problem. Have you tried a short double press of the power button? Sounds like the long press power off works by your descriptions. You may also want to check if xpshut will work for you.

I tried xpshut also with no results, now after hardresetting seems it's all ok. If the situation will repeat i'll write it in this thread, thanks mates
Problem seems to be resolved
The problem seems to be HTCHome v2.1 necessary for HHCustomizer to work. I installed it and i'm not able to turn off the device, after uninstalled it's all ok.
At least there is someone to share this inconvenience. Glad to hear you found out what caused it....however, does your Home Customizer still work?

No, it doesn't work without HTCHome v2.1
Keypad service
There's also a service, keypad, that if stopped, disables all buttons. Not sure if this applies to you or not, but I had stopped it on my TC by accident, and had the same issue you described.

UK WWE ROM
My Problem is,
Frequently my Touch Pro will have a black screen when i try and turn it on. Its really bugging me because i dont have insurance When i try and go to my landscape mode it will stay in portrait. sometimes (1 out of every 50 times) it will actually load in landscape allowing me to text. If the screen turns off and i try and turn back on its not gonna happen. I can get the screen to come on by pressing the power button on\off over and over until it, well just happens...
If anyone knows a solution to this problem i would greatly appreciate it. I should add that i have done a hard reset and it didnt fix anything at all. I havent changed the ROM so i dont see what the problem is. Thank you in advance
This could be either hardware or software. why don't you back your stuff up and hard reset?

I Only had contacts, which i couldnt figure out how to backup. everything else is on a micro sd card.
I figured that a hard reset would fix a software or hardware problem...
you can use PIMBackup 2.8 to back your data up. anything on your storage card will stay safe... but you should always remove it just incase.
hard reset.. and see what happens. if it's a hardware problem.. it most probably won't be solved.. unless a miracle happens. if it's software, it should solve everything since hardreset is as clean as you can get - that is, if your rom was alright in the first place.
Hi, did you figured out what happened?
cause mine just got the black screen, and the screen doesn't power up for anything... I just get the side lights of the screen on.
Did a hard reset solved the problem?
Thanks
I have a HTC Touch Cruise. First it stoped to avtive sync with the computer but i didn't worry, now the touch screen doen't work, it doen't hard reset nor does it go to the boot loader mode even though i have a hard SPL. The phone as of now can only answer calls and dial the last number.. otherwise i'm not able to do anything as the touch screen is nor functional... is there any solution to hard reset this machine as i'm not able to do it the standard way....
Try pressing 2 buttons below green (phone) & red (hangup) buttons, both at the same time & hold it while pressing reset button with the stylus.
That is another way to Hard Reset
Same here bud.

yes. You can hard reset manually by pressing down both GPS and Internet explorer button while soft reset the polaris. this will do the hard reset.
hi there,
i was working yesterday and my phone was in my pocket and was squished against my keys! the screen is cracked... but it isn't, i think its the touch censor screen or something as i can see the screen fine just with a crack in the middle... anyway i cant use the screen to touch
i am using wm 6.5 and i accidentlly pressed the lock button in the start menu and cant seem to get passed the wm6.5 slide2unlock screen!
i try'd a soft reset but it is there as soon as it turns on
i dont want to hard reset because i would need to use the screen calibration (plus i havnt backed up my contacts and have some important messages!)
it is really frustrating i try'd deleting the files in the windows directory but it says it is read only and i cant delete it!
and im a bit broke and cant afford a new screen!
could someone please help
i would very much appreciate it
kind regards
Alex

I'm no expert in this field, but have tried to sync the phone and unlock it from there? raspberry tru connect is an excellent program and if your d pad still works you should be able to install it and use the mouse cursor to do what you need to.
I have also heard of booting in safe mode, although I have no experience in it, but I'm sure if you check the wiki of your device you should find an answer.
Hope one of these help.

Not that I know of because of the installation needed on the device. If the ROM you are installing does not have the setup features and are already calibrated then you can install the program like before and be good to go.
I'm sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted to here.

Sure thing. I should be flashing this weekend if not sooner. Trying to get a few programs to play nice together and not having any luck.
I'll let you know when I do and we'll see if it works and go from there.

is this what you guys need.
Hi,
I have some problems with my HTC Touch Pro, i searched this forum, i tried everything, soft reset, hard reset.. nothing is working.
When i Slide out the keyboard lights are going on, but is not responding, nothing is working.. When i press Caps or FN the little light wont go on, so it is not working. And the Buttons on the front of the phone (Answer call, Hang up, Home, Return buttons) isnt working aswell..
I hope you guys can help me with this, again.. i searched this forum and google for a solution but nothing is working.
(sorry for my bad english)
Did you install CE-START? or a other not default software keyboard?
No i didnt install anything, but if i did install something, it has removed right? because i did hard reset.... or doesnt remove hard reset all.. maybe some registry fault, but didnt do anything about it.
i did soft reset, hard reset, pushed the space bar hard (almost broked it). i tried like everything i've found on the net. I got it from ebay so dont know what to do with it now.
