Help with FpseCE - General Questions and Answers

I cant seem to get this thing to work. I run WM 6.1 on an HTC Mogul. I have scph1001.bin in the bios folder and the program loads like it should and I can select options, config the contols and memory cards and such. I have Final Fantasy 7 discs 1, 2, and 3 as .bin with a .cue and the program recognizes them when I go to load and iso but when I select disc 1 the on screen controller comes up but the game doesnt load. I even let it sit there for a minute and FpseCE just closes. what am I doing wrong? Those same files work just fine on my Desktop PC using ePSXe emulator. please help!

emulators are rarely 100% compatible with all games if I were you I would check out their website for compatible games list or maybe in their forum

ok... so it actually worked... once. I was checking to make sure the bios was loaded and for some reason when I chose the bios it took me back to the main menu unlike everytime before and since it just shuts the program off. the one time it actually stayed on after choosing the bios is the one time I got FF7 to play and it played wonderfully. anyone know whats going on with it now?

Emulator for ZeroWing

Hi,
I have been looking for an emulator that will run ZeroWing.
I've tried PocketGenesis, but this only shows a black screen after loading the ROM (Same goes for other Genesis Roms).
After that I tried PicoDrive, which seems to be able to run the game, but I couldn't re-map the button and I didn't know what the default button for "start" was (I've pressed all buttons on my dads device to test, a HP4700).
After that I tried a MAME rom together with MegaCE 3, but this would just crash back to the menu of MAME in the PPC emulator, and on the real PPC the program took ages to load.
I am planning on buying myself a HTC Universal, but since this is one of my favourite games I would really like to know if it's possible to play it on this device :/
Thank you,
TB

Installing Touchflo 3D On Windows Mobile Emulator

I don't know much at all about Windows Mobile Emulator, but I have been trying to get TouchFlo 3D to run on it as a today screen. I install HTC_Manila.cab which is a touchflo3D cab I have found and then it says this was written for a previous version of Windows Mobile (the emulator is 6.1) so may not work properly. I then go to settings, today, select HTC Black and click ok. When I go to the home screen it says tap here to launch TF3D and then it says launching then its says tap here..., then launching and eventually gets stuck saying tap here.
Can anybody tell me how to install TouchFlo3D on the emulator? Or perhaps it is something that can't be done.

it can be done but it will not have textures nor be fast...very slow in fact
but here is how to install any program...set a folder where the instaler as shared in options (dont remember extact item)...it will show up as memorycard in wm's explorer... cheers
I had worked that out. I set My Documents as the memory card selected the .cab for TF3D and installed. Then it said that it was for a previous version of WM and may not work properly. I selected HTC Black under Today screen options and then it said tap her to load, then loading then back to tap here to load so TF3D never actually loaded.
Edit: You say it is slow so maybe I will try leaving it for a long time to see what happens, maybe it jsut takes an age to load.
I just doesn't seem to get past tap here to launch TouchFlo 3D and loading touch flo 3D, is jsut a loop.
Can anybody suggest what I might try to get it to work? I don't know if I am using the wrong file or the wrong version of the emulator because it might have something to do with the message saying it was written for a previous version of WM.
Has anybody had it running on their PC? It would be good if someone has already done it.
I have the same problem. I'm trying to setup an emulator that's supposed to run like an out-of-the-box HTC Diamond.
I can install the CAB, but it barely fits on the memory that the emulator has available as device memory, with other Diamond applications.
And when installed, it hangs at boot at that same message to tap to load TF3D, but it never loads.
Btw that's not all problems I have with HTC applications on the MS emulator. Tried to install HTC Home but after installation it made the emulator completely hang, and hang again right away after every reboot.

ScummVM and the Fuze

Hey guys,
I'm having an issue with ScummVM and was hoping somebody around here is having the same issue.
The application loads and runs fine (I have the latest version - 0.13.1 ... Windows CE ARM package).
The issue is that none of the games that I have loaded onto my SD card appear in the games list when I browse for them.
I installed Scumm to my main memory and have the game files loaded onto the microSD card.
The interesting thing is that I installed Scumm on my computer and can load and play the game files just fine, however the mobile version doesn't seem to like it very much.
Has anybody else had this issue with the Fuze?
I've been able to play the monkey island series with only minor probs.
I found that i could not open games unless i was using the correct scummvm.exe. Once i unzipped the scummvm download i had a scummvm1 and scummvm2 app.
For example monkey island will not show in the games list unless i use scummvm1.
wow, i could have sworn that i ran scummvm1
thanks!
ok, interesting issue now
i ran and played monkeyisland1 a few times with scummvm1....and now every time i attempt to run scummvm my screen goes black and it crashes
*edit*
on further investigation it seems that changing the graphics mode is the issue
it runs fine directly after i change it, but when i attempt to re-run scummvm later on it will crash on startup (unless if gfx_mode is default)
any thoughts?

Trying to get PSX4DROID to work on Gtablet

I have installed PSX4Droid 1.7 , 2.0 , and 3.0 (the new free one) ... and none of them will work... When I use 1.7 and 2.0 and try to load Harvest moon they don't do anything, and when I use 3.0 it loads and then crashes and says "PSX 4 driud gas crashed... please click here to help fix the issue"
I have the scph1001.bin for the BIOS but I just dont know whats wrong, I have only tried it with Harvest Moon which is a eboot (eboot.pbp and keys.bin files) I have not tried any other games as I am in the process of putting them on the tablet now.
Has anyone had these issues or is it specific to this game?
I could never get it to work. I use fpse instead which works great.
I just tried Crash Bandicoot and it is also not working
What version of FPSE are you using? I am trying with FPSE , and when I load the keys.bin file it just says "FPSE has exited, try using bios, press menu, system, load bios file, save and retry"
But I have loaded the bios file ... ?
Can't remember although I've had no problems with several versions. Make sure after you load a BIOS you save that as your default configuration in the system menu. Turn off HLE in the system menu too. Also fpse cannot run eboot files. All of my ROMs are either bin or cdi and they work fine.
Thanks, Does anyone else have any tips??
I'm currently copying over FF7 (actual ROM, not eBOOT) to see if that will work...

One more thing. The G-Tablet's multi-touch can be a little finicky when touching two points on the same plane (same position in respect to the y-axis) so I highly suggest setting the d-pad to the middle left of the screen and keeping the other buttons on the bottom right of the screen.

Games not supported, found a way to install! (Kinda)

So, after countless hours of searching and trying many ways to install some of my favorite games from my bionic to my tab, I had found 0 luck. (Completely stock tab and phone, Free games just not compatible) I stumbled on something interesting though:
The ES FIle explorer allows you to back up apps on your phones sd card! So, with that said, I did that... plug my phone into my PC, copied the backup file, drag and droped onto my tab, and boom, it worked! No longer do I have to play my games in a foreign language! I have only tried 2, but had success with the game working and I have to head off to work...
The one down side is, the backup is for a phone sized GUI, so I did run into some control problems, but Im sure this could be remedied i *think* by using another compatible tab device, backing it up on that tab, then repeating the process! (IE.., Moto Xoom, w/e 10.1" tab) My wife just so happens to have a xoom, so I shall try it out and report back in a day or two!
Just wanted to share!
The backup isn't for a phone sized gui, the app is. Each app has settings for all the resolutions it supports...
