Help backing up bootscreen - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

I've got a rooted magic and all that stuff... I want to change my bootscreen using the tutorial here but before i do i want to backup the old vodafone bootscreen incase i decide to go back for some reason... It'd also just be a good thing to be able to figure out how to get those kinds of things off the phone for the future.
Thanks in advanced
Brodie

Can any one post a copy of the original HTC Magic Bootscreen, i.e., with word "HTC Magic", cause I have changed and wished to revert back.
Thanks

Urgent Help Please ?? Clear my HTC TOUCH PRO

Please please can someone help,
I am very new to this and need someone to help guide me through this.
I have a HTC Touch pro and want to wipe it clean so when i turn it on there isn't the orange start up image......???
I have tried factory reset and tried the thread (Flashing your First GSM Raphael Rom (For Noobs)) and it didn't help. When i turn on my device it will comes up this the orange image.
Please can someone help me
Keep up the good work everyone
Many thanks Jason
So basically you want to change the splash screen from the default Orange one to a new one?
Some rom's (like ROMeOS ones) include a new splash screen so flashing one of these custom rom's will wipe the phone completely, getting rid of all the data on it and replacing it with new software. I'm sure you can find a pretty clean one with just basic windows mobile if you try.
Otherwise if you want all the software that's on it and just want to change the splash screen there are basically rom files with nothing in them except the new splash screen (i think). You'll have to search the forums to find one that you like etc.
Just make sure you've read everything about flashing the phone before you do it. You'll want the Olipro bootloader first etc.

Thanks iammaz, i have flashed my phone using Raphael Rom (For Noobs) and it's till on there i don't know what you mean by looking for ROMs as i don't know how to put different ROM's on my phone,
Sorry if this sounds such a basic request but i've never done this before
Ideally i want to restore the phone to what it would be if you bought it SimFree from HTC, so no 3rd party software or plugins,
Thanks for your help

ATT Default Splash Screen
thnnx ALOT again, ure a life saver, just one problem, the RaphaelRUU, when i download it, my AV shows it as a trojan and it never finishes the download :/ do u have any solutions? lol sorry if this is too much
That's a known issue. Easiest thing to do is either restore the file from your AV quarantine, or disable AV then download and add an exception for that exe file.
thank you soo much and one more question is that the AT&T splash the one when u first got it??
btw im doing what it says and the meter is stuck to 0% idk what im doing wrong is there alternative way of how to do it?

dead phone - not hardspl problem

I flashed a new htc touch pro 2 verizon with hardspl, and it was fine - rebooted happily and was fully functional. Then I flashed it with a ROM, and it doesn't boot further than htc logo. I can load a menu with choices to go back to original settings, etc. but nothing can reverse a damage. I tried flashing it from sd card with whatever ROMs - it didn't help. From what I read as long as you use right spl, a phone is not a total brick, but it looks like it is. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
PS. In case you are wandering which ROM killed it: it was an unofficial russian version. I tested it on my t-mobile htc, and it was functional. Then I reversed back to energy rom. I bought htc verizon for my dad, but he asked me to flash it with a russian rom. It didn't go well as you see.

well i dont think it is considered a "brick" unless it wont boot, thats where the term brick or paper weight came from (because thats all it can be used for lol). so with it still starting up, i think there is still hope for you and your device. first off, did u SD flash it in the first place, or is that you attempt at fixing it? cause i think u just got a bad flash. so if you havent tried it, i would try and do it the original way. worth a shot
try finding someone who has a modified version of task29, basically that should take the "bad" rom off of it and only have the boot screen.. i think its an option needing looking into.. hopefully it will work for you.
are you sure its a cdma rom? or else ur phone wont go past boot...check the sticky for cdma roms

[Q] Splash Screen Backup

Hi all,
After getting very frustrated with out-of-space messages on my UK HTC Desire (Virgin Mobile) I've been getting it ready for flashing with a custom rom, probably something like Gingerburst.
Anyhow. Today (after a lot of reading; I assure you!) I used Unrevoked to root my device - that went painlessly. I had imagined that I wanted s-off so was a little surprised when it didn't do it. The plan is now to use AlphaRev to sort out the s-on/s-off issue - only I don't want their Joker splash screen.
I actually quite like my stock HTC (white, no quietly brilliant) and black Virgin Media splash screens. Is there a way to back this up so I can restore it after I've AlphaRev'd it?
I hope so! Thanks in advance for your help. Apologies if this is a repeat; I did search fairly extensively and didn't manage to find anyone doing the same thing - or trying to.
(Out of interest do I really need s-off to get the most out of rooting and flashing custom roms? If not, I'll probably leave it!)
Thanks!
Smii
Some more in-depth and circuitous searching has turned up a chap who used a linux program (name escapes me) to unpack the boot.img file from the nandroid backup and push a particular file (his wifi settings) back up to his phone.
If I was to a) get a handle on the exact methodology and b) find out where in the boot.img file the splash screen is, I suppose I could conceivably do the same? Run AlphaRev 1.8, then push my original splash over the top? Hopefully it wouldn't undo the s-off.
Can anyone confirm that the splash screen is included in the nandroid backup?

Help with my Splash Screen

I have looked for a considerable amount of time and still cant get this down, I changed roms to a Sense rom, and it changed my splash screen, which was fine but now I went back to cyannogen, with a full wipe and the splash screen didnt revert to the original sensation one, I would like it to go back, any ideas on where I could get the file and how to flash it exactly would be great, I am very noobish with this stuff so any kindness would be greatly appreciated, I am not saying this hasnt been covered, Im just saying that I in my efforts have been unable to find the information, please and Thank you.
In post 6 there are instructions on how to flash a Splashscreen.
There is also a link in the post on how to make a Splashscreen.
I am sorry but I do not have the stock Splashscreen

There is one roaming in one of these threads somewhere.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Coredroid V5.1

Hi,
Check HERE
If you want the stock htc splash then you can download this:
http://db.tt/3FSojp5f
You can run a script from terminal to flash any created splash:
Code:
dd if=/mnt/sdcard/[COLOR="Red"]your splash file[/COLOR] of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14
Change the "your splash file" to whatever you've named your splash, and make sure you type everything correctly. If you mistype the block you stand a chance of writing to the wrong partition, which would be very bad.
