problem after upgrading to wwe 3.03 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

i have upgraded my magician to cotullas ROM {wwe 3.03}
then i had used my backup my contacts and text msgs by PIM backup (contains about 16000 text msgs and 200 contacts+call logs)
i was working fine but suddenly, after a soft reset it got stocked on the blue loading screen made by cotulla where its written about ram (mine is with 64 MB).
i tried a lot by soft resetting again and again but of no use until i made a hard reset, and it worked.
then i restored the back up again. i was working f9 but now its stocked again.
can any one help me out what the problem is?

maybe some program not compatilbe?
and hang system during load?

but i didn't installed any
and it DIDN'T stocked exactly after the first soft reset
it just get freeze randomly

strange.
if you don't restore PIM data it also happen?

NO.i think not
as i restore the PIM data just after making hard reset
and one thing more
my PIM data takes up about all of the internal memory.and i always left with 15 MB.about 7.5 MB for storage and 7.5 MB for program.

can some one tell me
my magicain always gets hard reset when i take off my battery and put it back in.even the back up battery is fully charged.its never happened b4 updating to cotulla's wwe 3.03.please help

Maybe the micro-switch below the battery cover is damaged,or you can try downgrade to WM2003 for testing whether it is hardware problem or not.

which one
the one on the right side.how could this leads to a hard reset..

the one on the right side is a switch to determine RAM power supply way.
1.When battery cover installed,it switch to battery output,so the RAM get power from battery.
2.When battery cover removed,it switch to backup output to keep RAM power supply,if it is damaged,RAM will get 0 voltage after battery removed,so all data stored in RAM will clean off,you will get a HARD RESET result.
3.If backup battery is invalid,it will still report 100% power in system, but when you removed battery,it can not provide enough power to RAM at all.

i got it
mi9 ones lock off the cover is broken i putted a peace of paper over the button to keep it ON
so i need to replace battery with new one

Can software affect screen alignment?

Hi,
I recently purchased a QTEK S110, after a couple of weeks I noticed that the screen was losing alignment (very noticeable with such a small screen). Eventually I sent it back to the supplier for a repair as it was getting unusable. When I got it back I restored my last saved backup and the record button wouldn't work and the alignment seemed to be going again!
I tried a hard reset and then re-installed from scratch, my question is twfold:
1: could my backup (or some installed program) have affected the screen alignment (appeared to be worse in the bottom right hand corner)
2: are HTC screens generally well behaved?
Thanks.
highly doubt that software can cause screen to misalign but stranger things have happened. is it ok now that you have hard reset and reinstalled everything?
Hi,
No, it's still the same, every day or so it drifts off to the left so that, for example if I press the x to exit a program I actually get the activesync or time icons!
I am awaiting info from the supplier re a repair/replacement.
Darren.
hi,
sorry to tell you this is not a software problem my freind had the same with is magician and we tried everything we tried all the ROM's we even tried not to install any programs not even the ext rom files but no luck so at last he got his device replaced.
my advice if you have your under warrenty go and replace it.
I think it could be software
I have had this problem before. I avoided some of the apps I used to use and I think it has stopped. I think it was the latest version of MultilE and happened when I used full screen mode in landscape. If it conies back I will return the phone.

Phone frozen on ROM Splash screen! :(

I've been using a ROM (Black Diamond 3.0) since about 9/25-ish....and just now I turned off my phone and its not going past the splash screen of the rom! what do i do? i keep taking off the battery etc...All i want to do is bypass, get contacts out and reflash something else now please help! me without a working cell phone!
Did you install battery Status and overclocked ?
If it can't boot, I'm afraid you will have to do a hard reset (hold comm + talk buttons - the ones on top left and right) and press the reset. The display should show black and ask you to push the call button to confirm the reset. It should restore your flashed ROM back to its release state. You will lose all the contacts and appointments tho...
yeah...thanks lost everything but at least i have a phone....not having a phone in this day and age = nightmare...

Problem wit alarm on O2 Atom

Hello.
I have an O2 Atom with WM5.
It started for a while ago to act up.
When I used the alarm I was not able to turn it off. (The "dismiss" bottom in the lower left corner did not come up.) I tryed everything and the only thing that worked was to take out the battery and reset the whole thing.
But now the problem has developed. And I am not able to turn off the alarm at all anymore. Making the phone unusably?
Is that a known problem? If so is there anything I can do to solve it?
I have tryed to upgrade the ROM but it is allready the latest. Maybe I could upgrade it to WM6?? Is that possible? And if so how??
Best regards
settemand
i suggest you hard reset your device. to do this, hold the reset and power buttong together. a screen will show telling you to press both call and end keys (the green and red buttons). when the process is finished, see if the problem still exists. before you do a hard reset, backup any important data you may want to save.
it is also possible to upgrade to WM6, just download a ROM and follow the instructions. usually takes less than 30mins for the upgrade process.
hope this helps.
Thanks very much. That did the trick. It took some time to reinstall the backup. But it was worth it.

Unique problem - Dialer screen pops up whenever I switch on phone

Hi everyone,
Im facing a very unique and highly irritating problem on my phone. I own a HTC P3350 (Love) handset with a built-in WM6.0. It was working fine till yesterday. Suddenly since this morning whenever i switch on my cell or get a msg or miss call, the dialer screen comes on. (Its as if the green dialer button is stuck, i checked if thats d problem, but that isnt the case).
I even restored my registry and stuff from an old backup i had made. Even that didnt help.
Is it a hardware or software problem? What should I do about it?
All suggestions are welcome. Please help me.
Welcome to forums
Perhaps a hard reset could help
Good luck,
@orb3000: i tried hard resetting too, twice actually. But the problem wasnt solved. Any more ideas??
another thought crossed my mind. What if i assigned some other action to the dialer button and see if it still persists?? i can then rule out if its the hard button problem.. Think it'll work??
The best way to know is testing it!
And what happen if you remove your SIM card? problem persists?
Ya it persists even if sim card is out. Im so frustrated that i'll start plucking my hairs in some time. If a msg is open when i switch it on, it starts dialing d no automatically. Its so damn problematic.
Will the company repair or do something about it? Its 8 months old..
Could it be a virus??
Sorry I dont know what else to recommend, but hopefully another more experienced member can give you better advice.
Be patient!!
oh.. thanks all the same..
can u do me a favour and try to boot the phone up wth the headphones plugged in???
no that didnt work either,,
i just hard reset my phone and i have removed the storage card from the slot. i have not restored from my backup nor have i synced yet. my phone is as good as new with no contacts or appointments. And now the problem has disappeared!! But that doesnt help coz at some point of time i'll have to restore my device which might bring back the problem.
are you using the ones that came with phone and do they double up as handsfree
my line of thought as i had a kaiser with a headphone fault were the wires that made the button to call work were faulty
this meant that everytime the headphones wires were twisted a certain way the dialer kept popping up and dialling numbers
so thgere fore if ur handsfree was connected and then the phone came up without dialer this would mean that there is a hardware fault
my only suggestions now is to flash to a different rom
if the problem persisits then its a hardware fault and youll need to contact vendor or seller

Hi everyone. Thanks for all your suggestions. But none of them seemed to work. I'll just write my problem in detail once again:
My phone - HTC P3350 (Love) with WM 6.0
ROM version: 3.17.720.3 WWE
ROM date: 21/01/08
Radio version: 02.94.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.44
ExtROM version: 3.17.720.103
My exact problem -
1. Whenever i bring back my phone from stand-by mode by pressing power button, the green call receive button somehow gets pressed from the 'inside' and depending on what window is open the action takes place. For eg: if im on my today screen, the dialer screen opens up; if im on the dialer screen, the last dialed no starts getting dialed; AND THE WORST PART - if someone calls me when my phone is on stand-by mode, the call automatically gets received (coz the green cal receive button virtually gets pressed)!!
2. The super-added problem is that if i press the power button to put the phone into standby when im talking to someone, the speaker phone gets activated and then exactly 3 seconds later the call hangs up.
The problems are so weird and 'funny' that im getting to think its a virus doing all this.
What i tried doing -
1. i hard reset my phone and restored using sprite backup. The problem persisted.
2. So next i hard reset again and restored using PIM backup and restored only the contacts. The problem disappeared for a day but reappeared.
3. So i hard reset again and this time i didnt restore and i also removed my storage card. And now the problem has become unpredictable! It appears sometimes and sometimes the phone is completely normal.
Im trying hard to find a pattern as to when it appears for eg: whenever the battery is low; only during the evening, etc. I dont know but i've not found out any fixed pattern (which i expected if it was to be a virus)
My current status -
I disabled the 'Turn off device if not used for' option in Advanced Power settings. And i never put my phone on standby. I just use the device lock option. But the problem is that battery running out twice faster.
This has just temporarily treated the problem but the basic problem still remains....

Memory Issues?

Since my Diamond has given me the big middle finger, i went back to my backup TC which i was going to sell... good thing i didn't.
So i never liked the TouchFlo thing. I like SPB Shell much better. one problem with TF, it installs automatically when you hard reset (or fresh start) the phone. what to do... what to do...
This time around, when the phone booted up for the first time I did a soft reset (push the button on the bottom of the phone) when TF was getting installed 1/7th of the way; basically resetting the phone 1 second into install.
it is amazing how much memory is saved and putting on all the other software I normally use, there's plenty of room left! storage space has increased dramatically.
figure for those who do not like TF and could rebuild their phone from scratch w.o losing data (PIM), this *might* be a solution for you to get as much space out of the phone as possible.
