I'm quite sure that I did both of them without any problems. The splash screen shows for a very long time until the animated boot screen takes over.

Going to create some for you they are going to be here:
http://ostebaronen.dk/android/splash/
just download the raw565 files for flashing, to preview look at the other files.
EDIT: There should be 5 of them now. I can convert them for you if you supply me the image through a link or something.

Did try the tutorial that was linked a few posts up but all i got was wrong digest when i tried to flash it.
Any ideas ?
i've already flashad splash1 but its not possible to flash splash2 atm. Atleast not on the htc branded Saphire

C:\sdk\tools>fastboot flash splash2 android_boot_image_black2.raw565
sending 'splash2' (300 KB)... OKAY
writing 'splash2'... FAILED (remote: partition does not exist!)

Maybe I didn't flash the splash2 afterall. Because I get the same error. Though the second splash image belongs to the ROM, so you should be able to alter that too. Let me investigate!

yea like i stated earlier i did try to alter skittleguys 1.4 with a diff splash but when i applied the update it just came back with wrong digest on the frame-res.apk

Ok, seems like the other boot screen comes from /system/media/boot.gif let me try to alter it to an other one Be right back with results.

Yep thats the one. Instructions are in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3918162
Works on my phone

ohh havnt tried replacing that gif, will do not though. would be nice to hear how i fix the wrong digest if its possible
EDIT: replaced gif but that screen last for a whole 2s. i wanna replace the one in frame-res.apk but atm just getting wrong digest

Mine lasts until it finishes booting... Let me investigate your problem though...

Did you resign it after you altered it? Also resign every apk inside it?
EDIT: Yeah, every thread that says something about No digest or wrong digest states that means the package hasn't been signed correctly. You have to sign every apk packages inside the apk file, and the apk file itself.

Can't get it to work, where do i have to put the TOPAIMG.nbh file on my storage card?
I putted the file directly on my storage card and put the phone into boot loader but it said there was no image file?
I'm using the Energy Rom win mobile 6.5 maybe this is the problem?
I hope someone has the solution so i get rid of the last T-mobile s..t
Thanks
Did you unzipp the TOPAIMG.zip before copying to Storage Card? Put the File in the root from Storage Card, not in any folder. Maybe the Card must be formated (FAT32), some people have probs with wrong formated cards.
Hope this helps.
Still doesn't work
I unzipp the file an put it to a formatted (fat32) storage card.
I do all the things mentioned in the HOWTO but can't get it working.
What am I doing wrong?
Wich device do you own? Did you try the customRUU, look for it in ROM-development forum.
I got a diamond 2 only it's from t-mobile they call it a MDA compact 5.
I want to get rid of all the t-mobile things on my device and the ugly pink color
Yet tried the customruu but nothing happens so I give up
Hi,
So I was thinking can I use the topazRUUwrapper.exe to load the diamond 2 splash screen??
Hope it can be done and I don't end up with a brick.

I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

I know they have an unlocked SPL by MoDaCo or Cyanogen that allows commands to change splash screens. If we booted into fastboot and tried it, our phones would turn into $180 paperweights.

[Q] Galaxy S radio image for Nexus S

Hi everyone, i would've posted this on the development forums, but since I'm not allowed, I'm posting here.
I saw in here that Nexus S radio images are flashable in Galaxy S phone without issues. I'd like to know if anyone tried flashing any working Galaxy S radio image in a Nexus S. If yes, how did you do it?

Yes, I've seen that. But there's a particularity of Galaxy S radio that I'm interested in. I've just seen in a friend's Gal. S phone that the radio reports some messages to framework that the Nexus S doesn't. So, I'd like to check if changing the image will make the Nexus S report these messages. None of the radio images for Nexus S send this messages, don't know why.
I've tried to flash radio-cm-7-GalaxyS-JVU-signed.zip, with no success...
Unzipped the modem.bin and renamed it to radio.img.
Tried to flash with fastboot, but the image check fails... Any ideas?

Some proactive commands sent from the sim are not treated in Nexus S as they were supposed to. Some of these proactive commands are treated in Galaxy S radio image.
But as I said, I tried renaming and flashing a Galaxy S radio image on my Nexus S and it didn't pass the image verification. In boot load mode it says:
"Verify Image (RADIO): Failed"
I don't know why it is failing. I'm looking at fasboot code right now, but haven't seen anything. Guess I'm not in the right place.

Output goes:

Writing radio...
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/radio.img", "radio")

I'll look for this write_raw_image assertion, I'm assuming this is the same error in fastboot flash...
I was able to flash a galaxy S radio image on Nexus S, but for my surprise (sadly) it doesn't send the messages I was expecting. Maybe the radio images for Galaxy S I9000B are different. I'm looking in to that now.

Another thing is that I wasn't able to flash radio image from I9000B (brazilian version), don't know why yet. Recovery says it flashes ok, but baseband version on android settings doesn't say the samething

If your instructions are followed properly, download mode will flash the contents of splash1.nb0 to the "sp1" partition (mmcblk0p14 on my A9, likely for all A9 variants) and nothing else. The splash partition is then called by the Android kernel very early in init.

Yes, I am, and it works perfectly along with the bootanimation. (It goes well since I've enabled Google Assistant.) I may or may not make one of my own...just depends on if I come up with a good idea and enough time to put it together.
