Is there any way to disable to short melody at the beginning ? I tried to disable it via Advanced Config (deleting the reference to the WAV file), but no luck.

Make a silent soundfile, name it BootUpHTC.wav and overwrite the original in the windows folder.

Thanks Tom for your reply, I actually meant the boot splash screen. Mine is the ugly carrier/operator splash
Thanks

At the end of this HOWTO is what you're looking for

Thanks I will try it out this evening

Can't get it to work, where do i have to put the TOPAIMG.nbh file on my storage card?
I putted the file directly on my storage card and put the phone into boot loader but it said there was no image file?
I'm using the Energy Rom win mobile 6.5 maybe this is the problem?
I hope someone has the solution so i get rid of the last T-mobile s..t
Thanks

Did you unzipp the TOPAIMG.zip before copying to Storage Card? Put the File in the root from Storage Card, not in any folder. Maybe the Card must be formated (FAT32), some people have probs with wrong formated cards.
Hope this helps.

Still doesn't work
I unzipp the file an put it to a formatted (fat32) storage card.
I do all the things mentioned in the HOWTO but can't get it working.
What am I doing wrong?

Wich device do you own? Did you try the customRUU, look for it in ROM-development forum.

I got a diamond 2 only it's from t-mobile they call it a MDA compact 5.
I want to get rid of all the t-mobile things on my device and the ugly pink color
Yet tried the customruu but nothing happens so I give up

Hi,
So I was thinking can I use the topazRUUwrapper.exe to load the diamond 2 splash screen??
Hope it can be done and I don't end up with a brick.
Please help I still want this.
Thanks

There's some information in the Herald Goldcard page (check the link from the Elfin Goldcard wiki).
I haven't tried it yet.. but maybe it does some cool stuff like bypassing Model ID check?
Are you able to get the SDO file as mentioned in the service manual (page 35)? I assume this is an all-Elf unbricking image.
The HTC website requires login to obtain it.

Can't help for that...
Hi!
I test the file on my bricked Elfin.
Normal flashing via SD card is impossible because the bootloader doesn't start the flash process.
However the diagnostic file runs without any errors.
Only the last menue point of the screenshots "Change ColourID" isn't at my screen.
My ELFin is still bricked, maybe there is a special trick to unhide this menue entry

Hey bro, what does changing Color ID do?
EDIT: Booting from elf0diag.nbh makes it go into a DIAG> prompt in MTTY. I don't know what commands to use though.
I think it's no use whit the MTTY. Many official tools are the elf0diag.nbh format.

When this one starts, it says "Please Input Password".
Note: You cannot start any ELF0DIAG.nbh from SD if you have a USPL installed; you have to flash a signed SPL first.
PLUS IT WILL HARD RESET YOUR DEVICE IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT STARTS UP, WITHOUT ASKING....

Hi!
I testet the new diagnostic File, and now I can change the Color ID.
Black and Green are available.
Black change the MID to ELF030000
Green change the MID to ELF030001
The original MID can't be restored!?!?!?! (it was ELF030050)
Maybe there are more Versions of the diagnostic tool which change the device into other colors.
I make exactrly whatever is writen there but I get message:
Security level not cleared!
What I suppose to do to avoid this and to get into test?

sounds nice.
Did try the tutorial that was linked a few posts up but all i got was wrong digest when i tried to flash it.
Any ideas ?
i've already flashad splash1 but its not possible to flash splash2 atm. Atleast not on the htc branded Saphire
C:\sdk\tools>fastboot flash splash2 android_boot_image_black2.raw565
sending 'splash2' (300 KB)... OKAY
writing 'splash2'... FAILED (remote: partition does not exist!)
Maybe I didn't flash the splash2 afterall. Because I get the same error. Though the second splash image belongs to the ROM, so you should be able to alter that too. Let me investigate!

Mine lasts until it finishes booting... Let me investigate your problem though...
Did you resign it after you altered it? Also resign every apk inside it?
EDIT: Yeah, every thread that says something about No digest or wrong digest states that means the package hasn't been signed correctly. You have to sign every apk packages inside the apk file, and the apk file itself.

Splash screen?

I really want this splash screen but also dont feel like turning m,y phone into a paperweight. can we use the custom splash screens?
You can do it, but I wouldn't use the insturctions he has there. I have another thread somewhere that has path names that you could push that file to. Then you can edit the boot.xml file and add the new file name. Its not very difficult and it probably won't brick you. I did however mess mine up and had to RUU when I was messing around with it. Still not sure what happened there.

The XML that controls the boot screen is not the Binary XML that's in the APK's and Manifest files. It's actually readable.

I appreciate the bootscreen but I am wondering if we can actually change the splash screen (then one that shows HTC before the bootscreen starts up) or if the GSM hero just got lucky with hacking theirs.

I know they have an unlocked SPL by MoDaCo or Cyanogen that allows commands to change splash screens. If we booted into fastboot and tried it, our phones would turn into $180 paperweights.

Strange BootLoop

Hi every one ! (Sorry for my poor English, I'm French)
I'm posting here because I've a little (big) problem with my HTC Sensation. Indeed when I turn on, I've a boot loop and the factory reset do a boot loop too...
I think it can be due to an app called "Simple root swap". With it, I created a swap on my SD Card and I check the box for start the swap at the beginning. I don't know if it can make problems like this...
I precise that my HTC Sensation is unlocked by HTCDev Method, rooted, HBOOT 1.27 but still S-ON. I've already try reboot and factory reset with and without SD Card, no change... I've access to the android stock bootloader.
Please, could somebody help me ?
Thanks !
Thomas.
