hi friends..
can we backup our pico's stock rom before rooting it ??
if yes can anyone please post the procedure?
Thank you
yes can be backed up from recovery... the procedure depends on the recovery you are using.... eg:for twrp just hit backup from the main page and swipe to backup...

I think you cant backup your current stock rom without rooting... Because to take system backup you need to root...
Just remove your battery... Put it back... And press power+volume button...
You will now go to bootloader menu... Select recovery(select using volume down and press power for slection)
Now you will go to recovery mode... Its factory mode...
After rooting you need to flash RUU rom to go back to unroot stock rom...
after unlocking the boot loader try to backup bro... I am not sure... sorry...

no stock recovery will be there in the stock rom before rooting , using stock recovery you cant install any custom rom or backup your stock rom , so you have to unlock the bootloader first , then you have to root your device , then you have to flash custom recovery like cwm , twrp , younnu's or philz recovery

Thank you vangeodee, I have a couple of questions:
1- Will this process wipe all my data and external apps , so I have to back up first ?
2- Suppose I could install the flash KDZ, can I unroot then or it will install the old ROM from the begining ?

Depends, you can either do a normal flash of your current ROM or you could do a CSE flash that would wipe everything.
Here's a rundown:
1.) Normal Flash - flashes stock stuff on top of whatever is running on your phone at the moment. I did this after I installed MLKernel which, unfortunately broke my WiFi and Camera so I had to flash back to stock. I tried this option first because I didn't want to redownload/install everything. Surely enough, I restored stock kernel and got unrooted, but the WiFi and Camera were still broken.
So if you're looking to just remove root and not lose anything, this is what you'd want to choose. Look for the correct KDZ for the current stock ROM you are on. Flash it wrong, and I can't guarantee anything.
2.) CSE Flash - nothing much to write about. Cleans the entire 16/32GB of your internal. that includes apps, files, pictures, documents or anything really that's stored on internal storage. If you've got Titanium backups in internal, well kiss those goodbye after CSE flash.
Or you can direct in Superuser app unroot.

Thank you, that is what I did, and I guess it went successfully. The superuser app disappeared afterwords.
But is there anything or test I can do to be sure ?

Hello guys,
I create this thread because I'm facing a difficulty. Here is the situation :
- my 6039Y was rooted and on LL (5.0.2) rom : everything was fine
- still, I wanted to try Marshmallow, so I decided to switch to MM stock rom thanks to Mobile Upgrade Q
- after that, my phone got unrooted and battery life was much worse, si I decided to revert to LL rom : thanks to AlcatelFlasher tool I put back a recovery partition with TWRP, and I loaded a full LL backup that I created
(AlcatelFlasher tool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/tool-sahara-firehose-test-alcatel-t3454855)
--> everything went fine, but the problem is that I cannot root my phone anymore ! I unlocked bootloader, but nothing happend when I try to install SuperSU 2.46. The message says everything went fine but it is still not rooted.
Any idea of how to root my phone again ? Thanks a lot

Alcatel flasher isn't ready to write any other partition than boot and recovery yet. What kind of LP backup have you done? Nandroid? Have you simply restored it over MM ROM?

Hi : I had done a full Nandroid backup (10Gb !) that I fully restored here... still, does not work
I was thinking about using a VPN and connect with an ip of a country where MM update is not available : maybe it will restore my phone to proper stock LL ?

No, it depends on your device variant®ion (or CU reference).
Maybe you can ask somebody with stock LL to share a full backup of his entire list of partitions (can get it through ADB dd method) and restore them in your phone.
Type *#07# on dialer and post your CU ref.

Can't be done. Backing up system requires root.

You can't backup without root. You must be rooted. Once you got root. You need to flash custom recovery like (CWM, TWRP or Philz) supported to your model. Then you can go to recovery and get full backup of your Android.

You can also use adb to backup once you have root.
