WITH VODAFONE ITALY, THE ROM WITH AUTOCONNECT WITH APN WEB.OMNITEL.IT.. it drinks all your credits

YAY! luckily wifi works waiting for upgrades, you guys are great!

Will this work with rogers as well ?

waiting patiently for a fully functional.
Big respect for the efforts

OH NO I NEED HELP!!!
I pushed a com.htc.WeatherWidget.apk and the obx trough DDMS and then rebooted my Vodafone Magic rooted with vodafone rom, and now it keeps loop rebooting!!!! My battery is still 100%, It flashes the android logo all the time!
When I take out the battery and then put it in it immediately shakes and shows the splash.
what should I do! I'm scared!
EDIT: Ok, taking the battery out longer made it possible to enter hboot/fastboot. I think i need a whipe?

can you guys post exactly what's working and what's not?!?
i.e. : camera? will i be able to take photos with random force closes or the app is unaccessible?.... ecc ecc,

Will this rom work on a UK Vodafone spec magic ?

HTC Touch Cruise won´t start

Hello. Yesterday I want to use my TC and it was off. Tried turning it on- nothing. When I plug it in to charge the orange light stays on for a second and then goes off. When its plugged in and I take the battery out, then stick it right back in the "smart mobility" screen pops up, it vibrates, then it goes blank again. Tried a hard reset and still nothing. Please help me. What´s wrong?
No injuries to my device.........
Thank you......
How old is the device? Did you flash a new ROM or something? Might be a battery problem. Try with a spare battery or something. Borrow one from a friend if possible.
The device is quite new, I think I bought it in april 2008. I flashed the new ROM from official htc web site in september.
I will try another battery.
Thank you

Hmmm....you flashed a new ROM from the official HTC website? Did your phone ever work since then? You might have tried to install WM 6.1 which isn't meant for the polaris since it ships with WM 6. Maybe that's what's gone wrong?
The phone worked with this upgrade very well.

6.1 was officially released for polaris i do belive, so this wont be the problem.
marekswan - have u tried leaving the battery out for half an hour or more, then put it back in and leave for min 3 hours.
Heavy usage does create problems for our polaris barrery, have u noticed it getting warm on heavy use (constant gps use for example)
If that doesnt work, and its in guarantee, take it back as they can test battery for fault and give u a replacement. I had a faulty battery after about 6 months and got a new one.
Just a thought, had u installed any new programs or flashed a rom? (soz cant remember ur sig whilst writing.)

(problem) restaring loops

hello guys, i recently upgrade my two friends kaisers from there stock att rom to anryls 21202 6.5 builds, i follow the wiki to the last letter, but both kaisers are experiencing some odd problem, both kaisers after a month or so of been upgrade started to go onto a infinite restart loop, both went till the today screen and imitiatly(typos galor) restart they did this loop until both batteries were dead, i recommende them to leave the battery out from the devices for a night or so, they both did and after that both phones rebooted normaly and performed normaly foe about 2 weeks, after this time the infinite restart loop started again, im out of ideas here guys, if anyone can help out i would greatly apreciated.

Just reflash to a better build! Sometimes kooked ROM can do that after a period of time!
I had a somewhat similar problem. What worked for me was flashing the latest HTC ROM for the AT&T Tilt (flash whichever ROM is recommended for the Kaiser from HTC) and then re-flashed a cooked 6.5. Dunno why 6.5 has that issue, but flashing an HTC ROM helped mine. I now run TPC Elite 3.1 without any problems.

i know that lol, but restaring loops mean that something might be wrong with the onboard power supply chip or the battery its self, il try soberguy's solution, anyways thanks for both reply's appreciated.

I freaked at first, too. I couldn't get the damn phone to do anything, no matter what I tried. In a fit of rage it almost hit the wall. I spent hours frantically reflashing all the ROMs I could find, to no avail. Flashing over to the official HTC ROM, and then reflashing TPC Elite 3.1 did the trick!
I'm positive you'll be fine and there's no actual hardware issue with your device.

The devices are not mine xD, the two kaisers are from some friends of mine, i own a touch pro , im still trying to contact them both and tell them to do the oem rom flashing thing, but haven't got a hold of them, i will soon though.
Its probably a memory leak that is causing, sometimes kooked ROM's tend to do that. Just use a different ROM.
I had a similar problem sometime ago, coupled with random key presses. After reflashing, installing HardSPL again and whatnot, I found that the problem was humidity ...
I lived in Bangladesh. Holding the phone close to the AC and keeping it out of my pocket during the humid season fixed it. Dont know if it is the same for your friends ...

What exactly is involved to convert G1 Hero ROMs to Magic?

Do pray tell so that we can convert them ourselves rather than having to wait for an update to 1.4 of Fatality's Hero (been two weeks?).
Rather than having to depend on one person, we should share our knowledge so that we can all contribute.
I would like to know, too.. Do someboby want to explain it?
I agree. Fatality has done a great job on the ROM, it's just way too slow
Hope you guys can figure it out and help the rest of us out
I am also very intrested in how to do this. It is also defiantly possible as I have seen the superhero Rom for g1 ported to the magic.
I did a little bit of experimenting myself. I found that I could flash Superhero and JAC without any modification onto the ION phone. I did notice some things not working such as wifi and bluetooth plus calls did not hear my voice. ie. It is not stable or usable long-term.
In many ways this makes sense since it is for the same OS, same manufacturer but perhaps some things are different on the motherboard. I therefore assume some things get swapped around such as the Magic wlan.ko into the package. A clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.
Okay seems like nobody is responding, which is disappointing.
I'm going to go ahead and flash JACHero 2.63 - Fully Optimized HTCHero 7/11/09 4:00PM and place it on my Google ION
Will report in and let you know what happens. I'm willing to bet it will work fine but with a few hiccupy problems.
Ill be very intrested to see your results.
yep im doing the same
flashing now oh and praying
to late to go back now lol flashing half done
I wrote a very long ranting post but instead I have self-moderated myself on this reply.
Let me just say the two words you want to hear: It works.
And let me just say this: It's embarrasing that in an android development forum those who have knowledge that could empower the community do not let people know such basics as what is involved with building the phone rom for a particular handset. There are too many ROM builds now to justify waiting on one person releasing an update.
I will withhold further judgement of those who are 'converting' G1 ROMs to Magic until I know it works perfectly as I have had issues when experimenting with an old Hero G1 rom with phone calls (caller could not hear my voice). In which case I respectfully withdraw any assertations.
But I have tested Haykuros IONr for G1, JACHero and SuperHero ROM. All for G1s. Yet they all worked (at least in terms of booting, phone synch to google account, etc) fine on my Google ION.
You do not need to 'convert' them for them to work. I had standard engineering SPL available from here and standard radio.

glad to hear it works too.
fyi it is much, much safer to let it take its time on the HTC screen. id be worried if something bad happend because you pulled the battery our prematurely.
this delay is standard on most phone roms when you install them. and as always, wipe before you flash.
let me know how you go with your app tests. im experimenting at the moment. and thank you for also having the courage to test with me, davec26

2nd boot now see if wifi sorts itself out
3G works. GPS (both wireless network and GPS) works. Google Maps works. Email synch works. Twitter synch works. Android market works. App download and install works. For all intents and purposes, the phone is operational. And may I say, DAMN its fast compared to Fatality's weeks old Magic build.
I'll try WiFi in a moment. I think thats where it will fall down, and possibly bluetooth and phone calls. As its 1:35am I probably cant call anyone lol.
Here's where we need to work as a community though: The wifi issue is known even on G1 builds. It is a matter of replacing key components in the package to suit Magic. We should know what to replace and why. In this way we are empowered to do it ourselves.

ah ok calls are all fine just tested in and out
Confirmed: Wifi is not working. States it cannot turn on. Bluetooth appears to be working but as I have no device to test it cannot fully confirm.
But damn this is so, so much faster. Seriously I used to dread pressing the home button. At least a minute wait in the past. I cant believe how fast it is. And window transitions too. If you dont care about wifi then this rocks.
Now to test a phone call. Davec26 if its not too late in evening, got someone to call?
OK, i'm going to give this a shot too.. curiosity has got the better of me! Has anyone tried pushing the wlan.ko from a working Magic Hero build to system/lib/modules ?
Just a thought: In the Fatality package it has the wireless packages that work from his build under \system\ because certainly thats where it'll be
If he could it would be great if he can post specifically mentioning what was required to change in order for Hero G1 builds to work on Magic.
Then it can become a sticky on a 'how to' people can download the latest builds anywhere and make them work on Magic.
That is unless we beat him to it. I suspect it will always be the same files or edits too, regardless of whether its Hero or plain cupcake.

No signal since root

Hi Guys,
I rooted my Desire S last night with the help of Alpha Rev, I'd originally only planned to install the standard HTC rom so i could get rid of all the crap Orange stick on the phone BUT it wasn't that easy.
Alpha went through fine and so did the root, once done i ran the image from the HTC website i found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 (first one in the list) and this installed ok but then i suddenly lost mobile signal, the wifi was fine but no mobile network. After 20 mins it appeared but then promptly went again 30 seconds or so later. This happened on and off for 20 mins so i decided to go back to the standard Orange rom and have another look. Again i downloaded it from the above link but this time got the Orange rom, now the same thing was happening on this one. I started to panic at this point! I had a search around and noticed some people thought it could be to do with the radio. So i downloaded the correct radio and tried again, still the same, signal on for 10-30 seconds then goes.
As a last ditch attempt i downloaded this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122797 installed and now all is fine? I don't understand why it keeps loosing signal on the original rom yet on a cooked rom it works fine!
Thanks for reading, I'm quite new to all this so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
coz cooked rom is better
also u can try this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15800407&postcount=151
its shipped+root so u can remove all bloatwarez
Thanks dude, i'll give that one a go tomorrow morning.

[Q] HTC sensation "wi-fi" error . Can not turn wi-fi on.

Hello,
As soon as I tap the wi-fi icon, it turns to an "error" state.
I ve seen some threads here, but could not be sure about the resolution. To give idea let me sum it up. My device has been brought from US and I am in europe. İt is alreasy ship s-off.
android version : 2.3.4
software number : android revolution HD 3.6.0. by mike1986
kernel version : 2.6.35.14-Sensation-faux123-v0.1.8+

basilcallly tells to apply a signed ROM . But can you please advise which ROM would solve my wi-fi issue. and how to apply that?
Thanks in advance
I also had similar issue when I flashed the original recovery to remove the rooting and clock work mod...
Now if u have the original recovery installed...flash the OTA updates through it and if you don't have the OTA you need to flash the original ROM
After the flashing ur wifi will work normal
hello,
actually I am so new to the stuf. I havent applied any updates to the device, but I guesss it has been s-off ed and applied a different ROM before it has been sold to my friend in USA. Now, which exact ROM would you suggest me to flash and actually where I can find it and read the how to ?.
Thanks
after stock and root i was on Revolution 3.6.1 and now i am using S3N5EaY v 1.4.0 -> agree .. its very smooth - fast and looks great. but still the most important thing is : battery life.. so before i had to charge 2 times a day on hard-use.
theres no need anymore at the moment ;-)
try out by yaself..

Ello m8,
It appears your in the same boat as me, i have the wifi error too, it doesn't even turn on to be able to see networks, let alone connect to them so it's quite horrible.
What i've done:
Flashed pretty much every rom i possibly could. (old ones, new ones, no effect)
Changed the recovery to 4ext (which works great but didn't help)
Changed kernels (a lot)
Changed Radios and RIL files (a lot)
Flashed an official RUU (no effect at all)
Went back to S-ON as described in the tutorial on the main xda sensation guide, then S-OFF'd again.
I'm now back on P3D v 8 and it's running lovely but alas, still no wifi.
I've changed the back cover (the yellow connectors at the top have something to do with the wifi) Don't mess around with these as you may break something, changing the case had no effect, apparently the wifi still connects without the back cover on the phone.
I am literally at my wits end with this and i got my phone for free from my work and i was only supposed to have had it for a while (4 months) so if i say it's broke, they may take it back and i've lost the phone completely, if that wasn't the case then i would have sent it back after i'd tried everything software wise i could think of.
I'm not saying that you are in the same situation exactly but if you are then it looks bleak and i would say anything next to removing the wifi chip and replacing it would mean the wifi will never work, plus tutorials for replacing the wifi on a sensation are scarce to say the least (torque screwdrivers at the ready)
If i get it working i'll let you know how, please do the same if you get any joy.
Oh i almost forgot, another thread on another site they mention using an app called wefi, i didn't have any luck but you might.
Good luck matey Hope you have more than i did.
Hi,
I am having the same issue.
Have been running android revolution HD 3.6.5. by mike1986 and previous versions of it (2, 3) and no issues with the WiFi, as one day it just started (yesterday to be precise). I did not install anything or played with settings that could mess with the wi-fi. One day ago was working ok and the next not.
Tried the Wefi app but it did not help either.
feeling hopeless...

Looks like this error is more common than it would first have appeared, read my post a few up for what i've tried, i even feel like dropping it if it's something inside so as to knock it back into place, but i haven't yet Lol that's desperation.
I've got an appointment with HTC soon and i'm getting it changed, if anyone gets this sorted then let me know as i'd rather keep my phone.

Hi,
I also tried all you tried and no results.
Changed the case with a friends phone but did not help either.
After a lot of reading through the forums did a logcat to see what the hack the phone is saying about this error and it seems it cannot load the driver.
If it helps smb to go deeper can post it.
Gave a thought or two about knocking it against the wall or throw it from the window but after-all, i think i can live for some time without wifi, my GPRS speed is not bad and maybe soon will be having 3G and during work time can use internet pass-through.
Worst case scenario, will sell it and get EDGE the new quad-core monster HTC will be releasing next year Q1 or early Q2.

Dude I got the same problem and I did the same procedure so far but same results as well.
I am just wondering if you got any better results for this issue.
Thanks
Same problem, bad results...
I had the same problem. Both my Bluetooth and WiFi would get stuck on "turning on" but never did, I flashed so many ROMs and Kernels, Tried RUU's from Europe,Asia, and USA and nothing worked. SO I CALLED HTC...thankfully I was still under warranty (It's a 12 month warranty) and shipped my phone away after flashing the latest official T-Mobile RUU, Un-Rooting, and going back to S-ON. It's been a week...I called and they said THE MOTHERBOARD needed to be replaced, which I think is the "default fix" if they can't solve the issue. So hopefully in a week I'll have my phone back...Best of Luck...don't mean to be a Debby Downer but I tried EVERYTHING. Give em a call, it won't hurt to try.
