(Mods - feel free to delete in a few days )
I just got my new TyTn today, so I started browsing the Hermes forum and grabbed a base OS to start playing with. I wasn't overly pleased with what i was seeing. Pride and ego seem to be the prevailant theme, and I hope it never infects this group.
It reminded me that I want to thank everyone for being excellent contributers. I've found nearly everyone curtious and very helpful . On a scale of 1 to 10, I rank this forum as a 9+. I can't say the same for others
I'll still maintain the Kitchen thread, though I'll have to rely on input for the OS improvements since I won't have any hardware to flash. Hopefully it's nearly done. If there's a big issue, feel free to PM me if an needed.
*sigh* Is a faster phone worth it? Damn, I hope so...
Are you keeping your wizard? I did and tradee off every day.
Already have a buyer - gotta offset the cost of the new toy
Hey Matt, thanks for all of your hard work on the ROMS and kitchens and good luck with the new phone.

Regarding the Hermes forum...i think that as long as you don't ask any questions at all, and know a little bit of this and that...it could be pretty funny...in a sick sadistic way
Considering you own a hermes now...maybe you want to take a look at my Hermes kitchen and suggest a few changes .. considering i don't have one...and some people reported errors...some didn't so i wouldn't know what's wrong or how to improve it.

That wizard of you must of worth a fortune... like a Stradivarius violin
It`s the device that made the superb kitchen possible and solved us endless bugs...
It should of been sold as chef mattk`s device not like just another wizard.
Thank You for your contribution, i am amazed how much work you did.
YOU did bring us closer, because you shared everything you made this forum so much better.
Thank You again!
My next phone is the Athena.

It is the Core kitchen adapted for the Hermes...a little step more advanced.
The latest is the Artemis Core Kitchen..which is the more advanced(couple of bug fixed and some remakes)...and i will have to make one that will work for all (well..not all but most....you know what i mean).
BTW...you're lucky ...i want a hermes too
Have fun with your new toy
i flashed a hermes for a buddy yesteday and must say the process was alot longer but not all that difficult. there are some nice roms out for the hermes, but i agree that forums there are almost worse than what they were here last year when some of the wizard chefs were leaving
Ditto on thanks for all your hard work and patience with people. I also have a Hermes so will see you on the other side...
I agree, it's WAS bit more of a process. BUT - I already have it to where there's LESS steps to cook and flash a Hermes than the way the bepe based kitchens do And it's only my first few hours playing
Congrats on the new phone, matt. Sorry to lose a good cook.. Thanks for all the help... Still see you around though as I browse all forums to see all the gadgets here...
Hey Matt, thank you for all the hard work and personal time you spent to bring good ROM's and kitchens here. I have been using Pandora v3.2 since 6/22 and haven't had a need need or much of a desire to flash another ROM.
Enjoy your new toy.
Sorry to see you go...
Congratulations on the new Hermes. Thanks for all you have done to this part of the forum. Good luck cooking for those lucky Hermes people who now have a great person with them!
Hey Matt....sorry to see you go also
I switch to at&t a month a go and I've been using my Blackjack. I didn't think I was gonna like it but its working out really well. WM5 , Quick and reliable though .
My next device is that Kaiser...I initially wanted the Tytn but decided to wait.
I'm selling my device cuz I'm a flash junky.
Thanks for the ROMz and hard work.
You've been great to deal with .... see ya around the forum.
Thanks Matt
Man,
Now I have to get a Hermes.
Anyways thanks for all the great input and help. But please do stop by once in a while to check up on things.

I'll second this. I didn't want to get a Hermes, was going to wait for one of the new HTC Models, but who on earth wants a perfect phone.
Thanks again Matt

Things have been so quiet lately, that I thought I'd just put up something so people have something to read! The usual suspects that hang around have been missing for a while. Haven't heard from Phil in months. Nitro is about to leave. And Vjgrace never promised to be around for too long. I think we're in a long, lonely stretch here, fellas!
I think we 'Tornado'ian are a 'dying' breed. ROM flashing dont excite many people anymore after
vjgrace's almost perfect v3.7 release. Hopefully Nitro can bring us some excitement with his next release. But I bet the excitement will be short-lived.
I for one would like a change to the mundane Tornado Homescreen. On the horizon there is PointUI (www. PointUI.com). But it is far from perfect. Gregory's HTC Home cracked was ok but lacked user customization. Maybe Homescreen design competition!
Well, what do we do to bring some excitement to the Tornado? Wait for WM7 ROM cooking? Linuz? or port the Android?
The answers are within us.
Post ideas here.
Don't worry, my friends. There is a "dynamic equilibrium" in this forum; some people leave, new people come. Andot came when Phil left, EA came when Andot left, etc. There will always be someone to improve our ROMs or just provide support. Don't forget that there are many people here who don't cook but are here for us when we have a problem (DSF, karhoe, you bipinsen and illi, and many more).
So, there's nothing to worry about. This forum has many good members to carry on our ...legacy!
I just started playing with my TMO SDA (Tornado) on Sunday night. Flashed a NitroGenius WM6 for the first time.
However, making my own ROMs is fun so I already started the process. I ported 5.2.1711 Build 18165.0.5.0 from the TMO Shadow ROM dump posted in another forum (OS only). I will make a vanilla kitchen out of it if anyone is interested... well, even if nobody is interested I'll make a kitchen of it anyway because it's fun to do!
Weird that there is a 5.2.1616 18165.0.5.0, it must be some kind of hybrid because each Microsoft build number is associated with only a specific version, 18165 goes with 1711.
See, there will always be someone to continue the Tornado WM6 ROM project.
Nice work, GnatGoSplat. You have a pm.
I also plan to release a kitchen as soon as I create the option.xml files for BuildOS. Maybe we can cooperate on this.
You have PM! I won't have much time to work on my kitchen until things calm down at my workplace, but I'll send you the XIP tonight and you should be able to get 5.2.1711 available to the public very soon!
With as many HTC devices as I own, the Tornado is one of my favorites, it's so slim and compact, but it has Wifi! I will probably be around here for some time.

Welcome to the forum GnatGoSplat! Nice to have you here.
NiTroGenious AFAIK you expect Shark's new build rom, he said it wouldn't be ready in january...
on subj i can say that there will be some progress soon, cause microsoft promised wm 6.1 in 1Q2008, for sure it will be possible to port it for our old friends

i guess you are right. why would one flash another rom when the existing ones (e.g. vjgrace, NiTroGenious) are that good? i think when MS releases something new some people might start again, bringing this alive on the tornado.
but for the time being...
I like Flashing
I just can't keep re-installing my phone all the time
I do need it for actual phone calls every once in awhile
rom kitshen
im a noob and i realy mean noob i realy dont no´how to make a ro and i now i have asked many times but bad answers and i need a good techer from the begining and if you now a video or webbsite that lern that sings so please show or learn me
and if you now a rpogram that´will be good
Thanks NiTroGenious... unfortunately i've lost my ultra-mega-passion for WM (limited time, univ, etc)
But, as you've said "some people leave, new people come" and some of them remain in "background"..
Wish you a great time with the military service! Good luck
We wait you back, you're the man .
Hi Ranju,
This thread is in your honor to say special thank to you!
This is for the hard work you are doing for the Uversal forum and especially cooking such fine, stable, fast and beautiful ROMs for the UNi!
Many master-chefs have moved on and/or are busy. Leo, Beasty, Jwrightmcps, thingonaspring, mo3ulla, mwang, and dear NNCoung.
And then, I saw some good news here:

Mee too using your excellent Rom for months now. Thanks a lot for publishing your work to us.
Many thanks for your hard work, I use your ROM since long time and it's very nice, no bugs no problems at all, and every thing OK
Thank you,

Thanks For everything Ranju.....
Very special thanks from me too!
Ranju's Latest V7.6 Rom
Dear Ranju, You did an excellent job on cooking this rom. I use my Qtek 9000 for my companies need which I am a heavy window mobile smartphone user which I had previously Jason's latest rom for the last few months which had two or three small bugs. I was under the assumption that Jason had the best rom on the forum which I read over the last few months everybody else's cooked rom on the forum and I was very hesitant on changing to a different rom. Before I switched over to your lastest rom Ranju I kept reading over the forum that "Ranju's Rom" was the best over all the other cooked windows mobile v6.0 & v6.1 roms. Everything at this time is working smoothly with no problems at all at this time. I have only been using your last rom now for about 1 week. The only small problem that I am having since I had my device upgraded a few months ago by PocketPCTechs from 64mb to 128mb of ram out of Fountain Valley, CA is by using your rom which supports the 128mb is my two battery's are draining faster than when I was using Jason's latest rom but his rom would only recognize 64mb of ram. My two batteries are still pretty new. I use a Cameron Sino 1750mah Battery & a Dynapack 3800mah Battery. I have read all the possible things that I have to do on the forum to cut back on draining the battery but I can live with this. I can recharge battery always when it goes below 60%. I am still testing your rom and have not tried the entire features yet. Once I fully get done trying out all your features I will sent out another detailed post on the forum so other readers can see this also. Keep up the great job that you are doing Ranju. Your hard work is greatly appreciated which takes many, many hours to cook up a Rom as great as this one. Once I get entirely done testing out all your current features in your current V 7.6 rom and am 100% satisified, I will make a donation.
Sincerely yours,Haven Park West, Inc.
helllo Ranju.
just have to chime in here, and also send you many many thanx from switzerland;-)
without your excelent ROMs I would still be wanting to replace my Uni somehow.
But with theese absolut great updates of yours, my Uni is still running strong.
thanx;-)
keep it up
Hi Ranju,
Just one more greeting from Spain.
Thanks a lot for all your lovely job for all of us.
You make all of us a very happy people.
Please follow on this way.

Ranju have made a wonderful work indeed.
I'm also grateful for his free hard work.
I'm only sad all Devs abandoned the WM6.x Video Call project. Beast is the only one claiming is working on it, but he seems not having time to work on it.
It's a shame most developers abandoned our lovely universal, but until now I just can´t find a replacement for my old Uni...
A bit pathetic lol.

Bengalih, i dont know you, but i love you, i love everything you have done, i have used SASHIMI from the first version. i am ready to try your RAW Rom.
Lupe
bengalih
i must say that this sounds great
i'm a huge fan of those principles of raw cooking, thanks for posting those . I think that if every chef on here followed those then we'd have new rom chefs popping up just about every day
thanks for your contributions, people like you make this a great place to spend some free time
You did great with SASHIMI and so I am looking forward to what you come up with.
outstanding
Bengalih:
If you bring half the brilliance of Sashimi to the RAW ROM then it will be fantastic. Seriously, I can't wait (and I'm ready with Sashimi to painlessly change ROMs).
RK
bengalih I look forward to your ROM and I agree to with most part however there are some good ROM chefs out there and in some ways you've reminded me of LVSW's the mans a legend IMHO one of the best ROM chef back in the Hermes days!! to this day I'm still using his WM6 rom on my old hermes which is now collecting dust. I wonder what he's up to these days??
Thanks for the support guys.
Not to get your hopes up too much...but if you read the principles, you will see that this ROM will be a fairly simple ROM.
The Official AT&T base stripped down, with separate CABs available for installation.
The first ROM probably won't have too many tweaks, and I will solicit input for those later (please don't post them now!).
One cool thing, is that in addition to UC compliance, I will be making this the first SASHIMI compliant ROM! It will run your copy of SASHIMI (from storage card) automatically upon first flash!
Thanks again for the support... hopefully this will (eventually) live up to expectations.

that sounds amazing man, you've got to post a tutorial on how to make our ROMs sashimi-compliant
Cant wait to use your RAW ROM, i also think you did a wounderful job with Shahimi. Just one suggestion though, would you consider maybe in the future to possibly make a RAW HTC ROM?
Kind Regards
I am looking forward to your new cooked ROM and trust your product. I am a fan of your SASHIMI. it is very good one..
I will be a pilot user for testing your ROM.....
Thank you!
I always see you as the most organized, neat and systematic person here, Mr. Bengalih tiger. Always looking forward to your new creations.
Just one thing, any particular reason to pick the AT&T build except being the latest official build? Actually I also wish that you took from latest HTC build too. Thanks.

Yes...the fact that it is the latest build.
Also the fact that I am an AT&T Tilt user.
I am building this mostly for my own use, however I wanted to share it, and the methodology with the community.
In the future we can discuss doing an HTC build.. but this is the first one.
I don't expect to be an incredibly busy chef like some others here on the forums, but we'll see what happens.
Great work buddy - will definitely keep an eye out for an HTC build!!!

Frequest Flasher... for the last 2 weeks I think I flashed my phone at LEAST once a day... and just wanted to say.. and give a HUGE thanks to Justanothercrowd, Drizzy and anyone else who helped create JacHero.. I would have just left a compliment in your release thread.. but It is growing so large, I feel a compliments thread is appropriate and leave the official thread for ?'s and ROM specific talk..

well keep a good eye on the hero releases! because soon enough (if you've been watching them anyway) they'll be fixing the bluetooth! its been a huge bugger since the beginning with all of the hero builds, same with the LED lights. so far they can turn on BT via terminal! so thats pretty close!
STAY TUNED! you'll be shocked at how awesome it'll be
Lol I agree with the OP. Absolutely oustanding job by everyone. Cyrowski, db.hates.you. revox, JAC, drizzy, etc...
I like this thread, I want to say thanks but not blow up the dev thread (however this is questionable because this is still the dev sub category in the forum). So to all the developers a big thanks from Seattle/Tacoma Washington! Great work and because of this sort of community and tinkering I will never own an iPhone. To all the developers - great job creating roms, recoverys, themes, etc.
Mainly Haykuro, Jac, db.hates.you., JesusFreke, Drizzy Drake Rogers, Cyanogen, and android.
Good Luck to all of them and keep the updates coming
I have to agree as well. The latest build is working great even on my class 2 memory card. A bit of lag never hurt anyone. The devs have been working tirelessly to give us a build that it stable enough for day-to-day use. I'm sure they still have a few tricks up their sleeves and can't wait to see what's coming down the pipeline.
Big bang!!
Fo sho you devs get a BIG BOOM!!! from you guys knocked it out the park w/ the progress of this ROM kudos to you jac, drizz, cyrowski, db and any one i didnt mention thanks a million!!
also a big thanks from me, been running jachero since version 1, and it has progressed very far
Thanks for all the work of all the great ROM builders, you are all awesome!!
This Thread should've been made a while ago!! Great Job Guys.
Yes...Much Thanks and Praise for well done Roms.
I keeps me from abandoning ship!

I would like to also thank all of the DEV. On making my Dream into a HERO lol
wanted to say THANX to all of the great, dedicated work... its been daily updates.. i make themes, havent in awhile but when i did it was hard working alone to put out as many updates as you all have
JAC, been reading ur twitter bak n forth to twisted.. funny **** on there, but glad to see everyone working on the same team instead of competing.
