Master-Chef Ranju - A Special Thank You - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

Hi Ranju,
This thread is in your honor to say special thank to you!
This is for the hard work you are doing for the Uversal forum and especially cooking such fine, stable, fast and beautiful ROMs for the UNi!
Many master-chefs have moved on and/or are busy. Leo, Beasty, Jwrightmcps, thingonaspring, mo3ulla, mwang, and dear NNCoung.
And then, I saw some good news here:

I will be back Developing Roms for the Uni at some point, however work commitments and emigration plans are taking up all my time at the moment.
I still have my Uni and still plan to get back to Rom Dev at some point (when I get a little more time on my hands)
Cheers,
Beasty

Very special thanks from me too!

Ranju's Latest V7.6 Rom
Dear Ranju, You did an excellent job on cooking this rom. I use my Qtek 9000 for my companies need which I am a heavy window mobile smartphone user which I had previously Jason's latest rom for the last few months which had two or three small bugs. I was under the assumption that Jason had the best rom on the forum which I read over the last few months everybody else's cooked rom on the forum and I was very hesitant on changing to a different rom. Before I switched over to your lastest rom Ranju I kept reading over the forum that "Ranju's Rom" was the best over all the other cooked windows mobile v6.0 & v6.1 roms. Everything at this time is working smoothly with no problems at all at this time. I have only been using your last rom now for about 1 week. The only small problem that I am having since I had my device upgraded a few months ago by PocketPCTechs from 64mb to 128mb of ram out of Fountain Valley, CA is by using your rom which supports the 128mb is my two battery's are draining faster than when I was using Jason's latest rom but his rom would only recognize 64mb of ram. My two batteries are still pretty new. I use a Cameron Sino 1750mah Battery & a Dynapack 3800mah Battery. I have read all the possible things that I have to do on the forum to cut back on draining the battery but I can live with this. I can recharge battery always when it goes below 60%. I am still testing your rom and have not tried the entire features yet. Once I fully get done trying out all your features I will sent out another detailed post on the forum so other readers can see this also. Keep up the great job that you are doing Ranju. Your hard work is greatly appreciated which takes many, many hours to cook up a Rom as great as this one. Once I get entirely done testing out all your current features in your current V 7.6 rom and am 100% satisified, I will make a donation.
Sincerely yours,Haven Park West, Inc.

helllo Ranju.
just have to chime in here, and also send you many many thanx from switzerland;-)
without your excelent ROMs I would still be wanting to replace my Uni somehow.
But with theese absolut great updates of yours, my Uni is still running strong.
thanx;-)
keep it up

Hi Ranju,
Just one more greeting from Spain.
Thanks a lot for all your lovely job for all of us.
You make all of us a very happy people.
Please follow on this way.
Just.... T H A N K S

Ranju have made a wonderful work indeed.
I'm also grateful for his free hard work.
I'm only sad all Devs abandoned the WM6.x Video Call project. Beast is the only one claiming is working on it, but he seems not having time to work on it.
It's a shame most developers abandoned our lovely universal, but until now I just can´t find a replacement for my old Uni...

A bit pathetic lol.

Hi thenext1,
Excellent work on Retro PPC. Keep up the good work!

I personally have just tweaked the Faria Kitchen and I am gonna watch this one for awhile.... But I am sure I will get the "URGE"....
Thanks to Faria, first.
This is only such advanced forum about these machines.
Hi Anichillus!
Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I just upgraded to your newest ROM - and so far it's really great and fast!
Great job!
Vi
I second that! This place is awesome!! The resource and talent we have on this forum, is priceless!
Thanx Faria! I am hooked on the Kitchen... I have digressed to the point of naming the XML file funny names so when I load BS I can install "all of my JUNK"... lol
So what are peoples responses? I am currently running Faria's "the real thing" and am wondering if it is worth it to switch to Xplore 2.0 for the speed increase? So people, hows the speed and usability (bugs, programs, WM6 features)?

I absolutely love this rom, but i just have one question: My wifi isnt working with this rom, is there anything i can do for it, or do i have to get a seperate wifi manager? Thanx again.
Never mind, i was being stupid and didnt check the main core 2 thread, ignore my stupidity
thank you!
Thanks for the great rom and for the efforts.
I'll look forward for new versions
Thanks to Anichillus for producing such an awesome piece of Rommage.
Not to take anything away from Fariah, MuN and all the other great rom-monkeys on XDA Dev, but Core 2.0 is the finest rom I've ever used.
thanks anichillus!!!
Thanks
Many thanks for the great rom!
Thanks!!
Yup, I say thanks to Faria and Anichillus for making my phone what I'd hoped it would be when I bought it (minus the 3G radio and thin profile - hope you guys get to work on the Kaiser someday)
Thank you Anichillus!
Hi guys , sorry i couldn't post early...i was way too busy.
I want you all to know that I really apreciate it, and making people happy it's my goal since Xplore 1.0
I say thank you too , to all those who helped me accomplish this, no names, they know who they are.
Also I want to thank all the people who donated !
Now I can afford going to a solarium to get brown becuse my pc won't work outside. Just kidding hehe
Thank you all for you comments !

Thanks...

I just got my new TyTn today, so I started browsing the Hermes forum and grabbed a base OS to start playing with. I wasn't overly pleased with what i was seeing. Pride and ego seem to be the prevailant theme, and I hope it never infects this group.
It reminded me that I want to thank everyone for being excellent contributers. I've found nearly everyone curtious and very helpful . On a scale of 1 to 10, I rank this forum as a 9+. I can't say the same for others
I'll still maintain the Kitchen thread, though I'll have to rely on input for the OS improvements since I won't have any hardware to flash. Hopefully it's nearly done. If there's a big issue, feel free to PM me if an needed.
*sigh* Is a faster phone worth it? Damn, I hope so...
Are you keeping your wizard? I did and tradee off every day.
Already have a buyer - gotta offset the cost of the new toy
Hey Matt, thanks for all of your hard work on the ROMS and kitchens and good luck with the new phone.

Regarding the Hermes forum...i think that as long as you don't ask any questions at all, and know a little bit of this and that...it could be pretty funny...in a sick sadistic way
Considering you own a hermes now...maybe you want to take a look at my Hermes kitchen and suggest a few changes .. considering i don't have one...and some people reported errors...some didn't so i wouldn't know what's wrong or how to improve it.

It`s the device that made the superb kitchen possible and solved us endless bugs...
It should of been sold as chef mattk`s device not like just another wizard.

It is the Core kitchen adapted for the Hermes...a little step more advanced.
The latest is the Artemis Core Kitchen..which is the more advanced(couple of bug fixed and some remakes)...and i will have to make one that will work for all (well..not all but most....you know what i mean).
BTW...you're lucky ...i want a hermes too
Have fun with your new toy
i flashed a hermes for a buddy yesteday and must say the process was alot longer but not all that difficult. there are some nice roms out for the hermes, but i agree that forums there are almost worse than what they were here last year when some of the wizard chefs were leaving
Ditto on thanks for all your hard work and patience with people. I also have a Hermes so will see you on the other side...
I agree, it's WAS bit more of a process. BUT - I already have it to where there's LESS steps to cook and flash a Hermes than the way the bepe based kitchens do And it's only my first few hours playing
Congrats on the new phone, matt. Sorry to lose a good cook.. Thanks for all the help... Still see you around though as I browse all forums to see all the gadgets here...
Hey Matt, thank you for all the hard work and personal time you spent to bring good ROM's and kitchens here. I have been using Pandora v3.2 since 6/22 and haven't had a need need or much of a desire to flash another ROM.
Enjoy your new toy.
Sorry to see you go...
Congratulations on the new Hermes. Thanks for all you have done to this part of the forum. Good luck cooking for those lucky Hermes people who now have a great person with them!
Hey Matt....sorry to see you go also
I switch to at&t a month a go and I've been using my Blackjack. I didn't think I was gonna like it but its working out really well. WM5 , Quick and reliable though .
My next device is that Kaiser...I initially wanted the Tytn but decided to wait.
I'm selling my device cuz I'm a flash junky.
Thanks for the ROMz and hard work.
You've been great to deal with .... see ya around the forum.

End of my work ?

Hi everyone,
Some news about my work : i stop creating roms.
My reasons : for some time, i try to integrate the new sys 19593 and 19700, without success, each time the phone freeze at boot.
I am tired, i tried several and several solutions, but no success. I stop my research, except if somebody can help me.
I sought too a long time, it is finished, no more motivation.
You have very good roms here : like Mona Lisa !
Bye.

Quote...I think your roms were the absolutely a step ahead in terms of productivity...I also think that 19700 is not fastest than other XIP but it gives that good impression mainly because they have accellerated the scrolling...nothing more..
I was waiting for a NEO ULTIMATE version maybe with NEO WORKING in WM 6.1 and maybe with the Boot UP screen from MONA LISA (NOT the 19700 one) tha one with percentage which I think is beautiful to see and also quick in booting on the phone.
Whatever you'll decide I'm sure you know you have done a GREAT contribution to us, vox users, and also to XDA community.
hey man.. sad to hear.... i beleive that it is just because you are tired.. you wont give up? right????
Anyway thnx for your roms [i use it ]
and i found this phrase in some SYS porting Guide.. lol
Info: In some cases you will need to copy WinCENLS_WWE folder to SYS folder (if not present in Donor's SYS) from your original ElfIn SYS otherwise your device will not boot

Fireburned, it has been an honor to chat with you and use your roms. I have enjoyed upgrading and it was because of you that I have enjoyed this phone so much. What you have done on here has been absolutely impressive and you will be missed by a great many of us. Thank you so very much for all of your hard work and time spent on the many projects you have contributed to all of us. Would hate to see such a giving person leave, but can understand totally the "I'm tired" aspect of it. Perhaps a vacation away from the software side for a little while, might be in order. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best and do hope you keep in touch with us, whether creating or not. Take care my friend!

Fireburned, I feel sorry for you. Frustrations indeed come from failures but remember that failures are the pillars of success. I think other cookers will be able to help you once they hear about your frustration. Rather we would like to invite Dr Gonzo, Hikey, Frauhottelmann and all other cookers to this thread to help you out. Anyway the final decision is yours. And finally many thanks to you for your invaluable ROMS which made our equipment a prized possession. Will wait for you to cook better next time.

Bengalih, i dont know you, but i love you, i love everything you have done, i have used SASHIMI from the first version. i am ready to try your RAW Rom.
Lupe
bengalih
i must say that this sounds great
i'm a huge fan of those principles of raw cooking, thanks for posting those . I think that if every chef on here followed those then we'd have new rom chefs popping up just about every day
thanks for your contributions, people like you make this a great place to spend some free time
You did great with SASHIMI and so I am looking forward to what you come up with.
outstanding
Bengalih:
If you bring half the brilliance of Sashimi to the RAW ROM then it will be fantastic. Seriously, I can't wait (and I'm ready with Sashimi to painlessly change ROMs).
RK
bengalih I look forward to your ROM and I agree to with most part however there are some good ROM chefs out there and in some ways you've reminded me of LVSW's the mans a legend IMHO one of the best ROM chef back in the Hermes days!! to this day I'm still using his WM6 rom on my old hermes which is now collecting dust. I wonder what he's up to these days??
Thanks for the support guys.
Not to get your hopes up too much...but if you read the principles, you will see that this ROM will be a fairly simple ROM.
The Official AT&T base stripped down, with separate CABs available for installation.
The first ROM probably won't have too many tweaks, and I will solicit input for those later (please don't post them now!).
One cool thing, is that in addition to UC compliance, I will be making this the first SASHIMI compliant ROM! It will run your copy of SASHIMI (from storage card) automatically upon first flash!
Thanks again for the support... hopefully this will (eventually) live up to expectations.

that sounds amazing man, you've got to post a tutorial on how to make our ROMs sashimi-compliant
Cant wait to use your RAW ROM, i also think you did a wounderful job with Shahimi. Just one suggestion though, would you consider maybe in the future to possibly make a RAW HTC ROM?
Kind Regards
I am looking forward to your new cooked ROM and trust your product. I am a fan of your SASHIMI. it is very good one..
I will be a pilot user for testing your ROM.....
Thank you!
I always see you as the most organized, neat and systematic person here, Mr. Bengalih tiger. Always looking forward to your new creations.
Just one thing, any particular reason to pick the AT&T build except being the latest official build? Actually I also wish that you took from latest HTC build too. Thanks.

Yes...the fact that it is the latest build.
Also the fact that I am an AT&T Tilt user.
I am building this mostly for my own use, however I wanted to share it, and the methodology with the community.
In the future we can discuss doing an HTC build.. but this is the first one.
I don't expect to be an incredibly busy chef like some others here on the forums, but we'll see what happens.
Great work buddy - will definitely keep an eye out for an HTC build!!!

Would anybody be interested in a customs ROM service?

I currently cook custom ROMs for Hermes, Kaiser, and Raphael. It's going superb for the Hermes and the Kaiser, as for the Raphael, not much there. Since i now have a Universal, i'd like to offer it here, but I'd like to see if there's any interest in the idea. For more info, click on one of the devices in my signature. Thanks to tomal and some others, i'm getting more comfortable with the kitchen to release a ROM and perhaps start this.

Any nice stable ROM would be fine. I think the only request from me is video call in WM6 or later. Up until now, many has failed to enable this feature for our UNI.
So it is; as soon as i get my first official ROM for the Universal up and running, i'll open this thread for requests.

Hi! I'll appreciate this. I am interested in a ROM for Uni without any Flashdisk or Storage and with the bare minimum components to run the mobile. Anything like a Vanila version but with more Free memory. Such a version would of interest of lot of people and everybody can install what they need best suiting to their requirements.
Looking forward to a stable version with lots of free memory.
Regards,
Haque

Thanx! I'll wait for the release.

Thanks for your effort . I'm a bit tired of Tomal releases which suffer from lack of RAM, and there are no news from VNInt which previous ROM is excellent but have problems...the device freezes and needs reset. Thanks in advance. I'll wait for your release (;

I think you forgot to realize the most important things:
How you're availing more RAM? You're removing useless and or less important components so that they are not loaded into the memory. Am I right?
Are you sure that the components you've removed isn't required anymore, at any stage?
You've removed a component considering it is useless but it's not the real case. It may work as a "runtime component" for some other programs and you'll surely suffer from freeze or instability.
So the conclusion is, ROM with huge (program) memory may not give you the desired stability. You must accept it either way!!

Very well put. I had asked Tomal for a pagepool changer, however he told me hex-editing was the only way as i too realized how much RAM is consumed. It's more than any defice i've ever ever, especially with nothing big like M2D. If you want a "RAMful" ROM, the i'd have to minimize on what goes in it.
great news
ill be glad to wait and test your ROM, regards
