Dear Folks,
I have a bog-standard P5100 (3G and Wifi) tablet that won't upgarde beyond the stock ROM when I purchased it just over a year ago.
It has been returned to Samsung's agents ANOVO who want to charge me £75 due to damage by user (nonsense). The tablet is "as new" no damage (it lives in a Rock case and then a wallet), used for about 100 hours in the last year.
I have tried OTA and Kies - all reporting I have "No update available". Do you kind folks have any ideas?
Regards

you are in uk and have p5100
look at this
for united kingdom - btu the latest official rom is 4.0.3 = United Kingdom 2012 June 4.0.3 P5100XWBLF1
for uk - o2 the latest offical rom is 4.2.2 = United Kingdom (O2) 2013 November 4.2.2 P5100XXDMJ2
for uk - vod the latest official rom is 4.2.2 = United Kingdom (Vodafone) 2013 November 4.2.2 P5100XXDMJ2
so if you are from first one then kies or software update is showing correct that no updates available
and that person is saying wrong that your tab is damaged and wanna make money from you
Dear aditya rathee,
THANK YOU, I have the network unlocked P5100 in UK Firmware is CSC:LF1 BTU, so the only official ROM is 4.0.3 and as I have 4.0.4 there nothing I can do about this.
What a waste of time Samsung are - I called them, they said I should be able to upgrade to 4.2 and was puzzled why I could not, they collected the tablet, delivered to ANOVO, they investigated this and advised there was hardware damage (NOT TRUE), they then shipped it back to me at their cost...all because Samsung help desk gave totally inaccurate advice.
This fiasco along with the problems I've had with my i9300 as well I'm losing faith in Samsung.
Anyhow going back to my tablet (P5100 3G and Wifi), if I want to use a good stable non-standard ROM is there a relatively idiot proof ROM? A key feature I'm looking for on my tablet is multi-window.
Regards
ANDREW
If I purchased an android phone in Germany (specifically a Huawei MediaPad M1), set the UI language to English, and brought it back to the UK, would I later have problems with updates, or would it simply update happily in the UK as a German model with English UI?
I ask because the UK edition of the MediaPad does not support phone calls, whereas I hope the German one will, in which case I'd like to buy it there.
Samsung has completed a number of certifications for a new device - SM-G888N0. Likely the Galaxy X or Galaxy Note X, a foldable smartphone/tablet. This looks to be a revolutionary game changer among devices. It should be available sometime in 2018. It will be interesting to see pricing as it's rumored to have a limited release in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Nordic countries, France and Poland. Once the 1st run bugs are worked out sometime in late 2018 it will be my next device. This device ROCKS!

Hi, I have a note phone for Taiwan (version also available for China and Hong Kong). I come from the Czech Republic and a phone purchased through the UK (for snapdragon). Unlike other versions, I had the latest update to android 10 sometime in January. Since then there is no update for Taiwan, so the latest Android security is January 1. According to sammobile, there is no update for Taiwan yet, but they are newer for action. It's weird. It is possible to play Taiwan sw to China or Hong Kong. I think all the places fall into the n9700 / ds version. Thanks for the reply. If there is a sw sw dealing about the action please just link .. I looked back, but I found nothing like that. Thanks

Hello,
I'm from Germany and bought a Samsung S10E at a Germany Refurbisher. I used it for several months without problems in Germany, Austria and Italy. When I went to Denmark, Norway and Sweden, it stopped working with the message "SIM 1 is not allowed".
The SIM-card doesn't matter - so the message was confusing. After contacting Samsung support and giving them my IMEI, the said it's a phone with italian software. This is, why it didn't work in Scandinavia.
So my questions:
- What do they mean exactly with "italian software"? Because I flashed LineageOS.
- Can I change the software myself in any way, that my phone will also work with my German SIM card in Scandinavia?
Thx so far!
