terminal apk required (can someone post/link?) - G1 Android Development

Without a Market, I can't download probably the most essential app I need for Haykuro's G edition - Terminal.
Can someone post the original Terminal.apk (not the god awful poidio pTerminal) somewhere?
Thanks in advance,
TommyPickles
*EDIT geh brainfart. nevermind just unpacked it from JF's update.zip*

key.apk on JF 1.5 anyone have working build

Been messing around with key.apk, but nothing but force close on JF 1.5
Anyone have a working method for this key board.
Or do we go with the CIME version, and just don't use Chinese if you're US based.
Thanks a lot.
Hope we can get key.apk working at some point. Anyone with key.apk and JF 1.5 please speak up, hopefully someone's working on a port of it.
I miss the HTC keyboard. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this working on JF 1.5?
i think there was a thread called Chinese Input on JFv.5 or something close to it, same forum

I just use the cime version. It works pretty well, never had a problem. And it works in the Email app!!
just find (or extract) HTC_CIME.apk from any haykuro 5.0H build...
and install it as an apk.

It's not enough to just install the apk. It requires some libraries as well to run.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512530
I'm not sure that the key.apk needs those same libraries. The link in the previous post is for the CHINESE Input. The key.apk does not include Chinese character input.

I'm aware of that. If you read the text i quoted, the poster was referring to HTC_CIME, not key.apk.

Run Android 1.6 SDK on Emulator w/1-click!!

well your going to do more than 1 click but very simple and i also added instructions on how to get it running!
Hey everyone I was messing around with the 1.5 emulator and wondered if it was possible to run 1.6 on the emulator "and it is" so i just added all files together so you can run the android 1.6 sdk on your desktop very quick and easy!
"its fun to play with"
INSTRUCTIONS:
1)download the .rar
2)extract the Android 1.6 emulator folder inside the .rar to your desktop
3)open folder and click on (Run_Emulator) with or without boot "your choice"
4)wait (like 5-10 minutes) then it boots up
5)enjoy 1.6 SDK on emulator
NOTE:
: i tested on widows 7 "will work on others, i think"
: I did not build the emulator at all, it was made by google devs
: all i did was added the sdk files all together
: this is just for fun nothing to special here
: dont delete any of the files inside the folder
: this is just an SDK not the hole build
DOWNLOAD:
http://www.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=drizzy/ROM/&file=Android_1.6_Emulator_by_Drizzy_0.rar
it's fun but waiting for the actual 1.6 rom to flash...
it's not necessary to pack all that. you packed the whole tools folder from the sdk, the only files your really need are emulator.exe, ramdisk.img, run_emulator (whichever or both), and system.img
it's fun seeing how fast first boot is due to the lazy dexopting.
i'll repack and upload just the necessary parts (btw, you can add a kernel to the included ramdisk to make a boot.img and flash system and boot through adb to get this booting on your device, don't know if it's got dream drivers though.)
1.6Emulator.zip
MD5SUM:fc358b26cfff0c2950f8b8dc8ea60a99
by the way, if you already have an android sdk setup in your system, you can adb remount adb pull system with the emulator running and use the pulled files to cook a rom
hello i´m 'Osx user can somebody explain to my how i add this to osx android emulatorn?
Drizzy, http://jerz.setonhill.edu/writing/grammar/quotes/basic.htm
Doesn't seem to want to work for me. There's nothing special in this though is there, since I have the 1.6 SDK anyway?
No workey for me either.
Wanted to play around with this and give to someone who wanted to play with android.

It's interesting to see the new SDK out. Does this mean they're likely close to having the full 1.6 build ready or possibly have it ready now?

I'm pretty sure it's because it is odexed and a system file. You'd need to push both the apps odex and the apk to something like /system/app or wherever your system apps are being stored

im pretty sure its bad to push an odex file unless its for the rom you currently have .. bad things can happen ... just have to wait til someone de-odexes them (JF says that he's working on that)

Great news for 2.2 users with bloatware!

For everyone who was weary to remove the bloatware on their 2.2 install throught ADB:
I have just received an email from Joel Bourquard, dev on TiB, and he's just sent me a test version of an updated TiB that works on our phones with the 2.2 update. I have it to give out to those who want it and told me to expect it in the market for download soon.
Edit: Totally just realized I got click happy and placed this in the Dev section. If a mod could move it to Apps and Themes that'd be great. Or if it stays here, I don't know
Edit2: Here is the link for the updated test version: link removed, available in market

Was there word on if the current donate code will work on the updated version? I will test this out as well if you want to pm it or send a link. Thanks.
Donate keys work for all versions of TiB, once you have one, there is no need to get another one. I edited my OP to contain the download link.
Thanks. I'm a donor. Just a little weirded out that he isn't sharing it himself and I downloading it through a third party.

I promise you that is the link from the email. I can post the transcript if you would like. Also, www.matrixrewriter.com is Joel's site if you would like to go visit for yourself.
Works Perfectly. Thanks!
Of course it does! Joel is probably one of the best devs in the Android community

Oh no worries. Thanks for this, really.

Don't thank me! I didn't write the app, I just sent him the required info from our phone. You guys should be thanking Joel by donating! He's a great guy and an even better dev, and definitely has one of the best apps in the market.

Its not a zip file. Its an apk file. If it appears as a zip file after download change the file extension back to apk.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it then, you did it wrong. What size file is your settings.DB file? If its anything less then 34kb then you did the mod wrong.

I've been poking around the new update. Thus far I've noticed these APK changes:
QXDM2SD.apk - com.htc.android.qxdm2sd
Not exactly sure what this is. Assuming something about the SD card?
Smith.apk - com.android.smith
New addition; unsure of purpose; likely relates to DMClient.apk (com.smithmicro.DM)?
Phonesky.apk - com.android.vending
Replaces Vending.apk, this is the new market.
Those are the significant changes I've noticed in the system/app directory. Other significant changes to take note are the new radios, new kernel, and the removal of CIQ.
Thanks for the post will download when I get home. I didn't see the new radios or did I overlook them?

Smith.apk is an HTC logging apk, not 100% but I believe QXM2SD may be related. Looks like smith has ability to move logs to sd. FYI Smith is safe to remove, typing this in ubuntu tethered through my senseless 4.67.651.3 evo. Will report back on ability to remove QXDM2SD safely.
Thanks
Glad you and Brad are already on the job, lol. This is great. I am gonna grab this as soon as I get off work. New 2.3.5 kernel?! Hell yeah!! I am wondering how the new radio is working. Has anyone tested 4G or data yet with this to see if they saw any improvements between new kernel and radio combo?
Anyone notice any improvement with the camera?
hey misery, with the 3 apk's that will not deodex, is your market showing after you flash? mine didn't as i am testing what i have just uploaded for deodex'ed.
thanks
downloaded ...
removed rosie, mms, mail, calc, browser, flikr and a few other apps from system/apps using root explorer - moved/installed go launcher, kaiten mail, go sms, wifitether, maxthon and some others.
Tried to install the quick settings zip and extended power controls - - neither work.
Will try out the existing kernel for a few days before trying something different.
Do we now have native video chat for GTalk?

No the market does not work, and if you try and download the market.apk, it force closes upon installation.
Well, all gingerbread 2.3.4 and up have it, so since this is 2.3.5, it should...but I haven't checked it out yet.

GTalk is now confirmed to NOT have native video chat in this latest release. Sorry folks. In theory you could head over to the 3D forum and grab their GTalk apk that does support it. I'm not sure if that's been tested yet.
