Hi, have you checked your a.s. settings to see what is syncing? You say it used to sync ok and that you could view your files using a.s. explorer, but that it stopped one day?
Did you install any apps then, or make any system changes? If your settings are good, have u tried deleting the partnership on both your device and computer, then restablishing it again? Also try unchecking "enable faster data syncronisation" in settings/usb to pc (if hyperdragon has that function).
Hope this helps but get back to me if it doesnt.
It sometimes helps depending on which operating system you are using (XP or Vista) to change the following settings.
Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC
• remove the check mark from Enable advanced network functionality
Soft Reset not necessary but recommended. When device is up and running and you removed all existing old profiles from computer as suggested in previous post, then plug device in.
Make sure that your active sync settings allow for USB connection. Go to connection settings in your active sync section and check this as well..
Good luck!

Hello all... I'm a total newbie to Windows Mobile and this site. Hopefully I've found the right place to post this. I have Win XP SP2 with activesync 4.5 and HTC touch pro (att fuze). My device connects to the PC fine but ONLY as a guest (tried this with someone else's device as well, same issue). I plugged my device into my co-workwer's PC and the got the option to set up a sync partnership. This option has never appeared on my PC. I've deleted/reinstalled activesync multiple times and tried other suggestions found here (checking & unchecking "advanced network functioality" and "ask about connection type" in USB to PC settings on the device). Prior to all of this I had software called Intelatrac installed on my PC. This is a "task tracking" program which uses activesync to connect to a Windows Mobile PDA device. I don't use this software in my current job so I uninstalled it. Somthing in the Intelatrac/Active sync set up is possibly the issue. I've connencted multiple devices to my PC and to another PC which has Intelatrac. NEVER is there an option to set up a partnership. Only guest connections automatically occur. All menu options in activesync except for "connection settings" are "grayed out" ("Syncronize", "Mobile Device", "Delete Moblie Device"). Any ideas what to look for? I have tried my IT department for the past month but have yet to find anyone who has a clue. Sorry for the long description.

Actually, long descriptions are best to identify problems
This is just a suggestion, but maybe this Intelatrac software left something in the registry that is being used by ActiveSync. My advise to you would be to first uninstall ActiveSync and then look for entries for this program in the registry and delete them if you find them. You could use autoruns to see if there are any processes/dll loading that shouldn't be there in the first place as well. Hope this helps...
Thanks for the reply... a problem with something left in the registry is exactly what I thought might be the problem. This being my PC at work, I don't have authorization to even look at the registry let alone edit it. Only our IT "help" desk group can don that . Through unofficial channels I got access and found that there are at least 20 references to "Intelatrac" left in the registry. If I can ever get these folks to look at the problem I'll report on the results. Thanks again!
Ok, my phone is connected to my shiny new Vista PC with the cable, and WMDC is running. I go to view my files, and it isn't showing the Windows folder or any of it's contents. Does it think I'm going to be stupid and delete something vital, therefore I have to be babysat by Microsoft? Please tell me if there is a way around this
Also, I have the HTC official cradle, but it seems very tempromental. When I plug it in and put my phone in it will sometimes sync but not very often. And if it does it loses the connection again quite quickly. There is definitely a connection though because the phone continues to charge throughout. and before anyone says it I've tried the tickbox that says enable advanced functionality and it's not that this time
Has anyone got any answers to these, or a better syncing solution for Vista?

Fuze Mobility
See More of Your Fuze on Your PC
Posted by David KJanuary 12, 2009 Many of you have realized that when connecting your Fuze over ActiveSync the \Windows directory cannot be seen and there are other files that are hidden. Because of this, we’re often forced to do a lot of the changes on our Fuze using File Explorer or using apps like TotalCommander. There have been plenty of times where going to the Windows directory is needed (like changing the programs located in the Programs directory) or modifying the name of TF3D tabs. Well Rainfreak of PPCGeeks was kind enough to give a set of step by step instructions on how to change this on our PC so we can see all files and the Windows directory and it’s actually embarrassingly easy.
Step 1:Go to Organize and click on Folder and Search Options
Step 2: Go to the View tab and change the Hidden files and Folders option to ‘Show hidden files and folders’
Step 3: Uncheck the box for ‘Hide protected operating system files [Recommended]‘ and click Yes to disregard the warning that pops up.
Step 4: Press OK to close out of the Folder Option settings and navigate to your Windows directory and then wait a few seconds cause just like doing this directly on the Fuze it takes a while to propagate.
Haha, I did step 2 almost instinctively, but not step 3. All sorted now
Now if I could just get my cradle to sync
I am running WM 6.1 (Michyprima Full) and I wanted to flash to another ROM, however for some reason my phone will no longer connect to activesync on the desktop (tried two pcs). It can sync just fine via exchange.
Nothing has changed on the mobile device or the desktop; ActiveSync on the mobile device is set to allow connection via USB and activesync on the desktops is set to use USB to sync.
I know the underlying connection is ok because the device will start charging from the USB cable when it is hooked up.
What can I do to fix this situation so I can flash to a new ROM? I do not need to save anything on the device... I have tried soft-resetting.
EDIT: Also when I list USB connected devices on the desktop PC, I see one called "Windows Mobile-based Device"
did you use a ram cleaner
i used a ram cleaner and my device dosent get recognised by pc.let me know if you find a solution.

Have you tied going to Start/Settings/System (or Connections) and running USB to PC? Try unchecking 'Enable enhanced network' then OK back to the start screen and try reconnecting.
If that doesn't work, try a hard reset with the current ROM, and see if that fixes it. If so, you can then flash the new ROM.
If it still doesn't work, I think you can flash using a memory card or the Flash Drive without needing to access the PC.

Have you tried completely uninstalling ActiveSync from your computer, reboot, download and re-install ActiveSync. Its worked for me - sometimes the USB drivers become corrupt.
When I try and hit ok to commit the change of unchecking the advanced network functionality (it was checked before), the device just sits there with the spinning thinking wheel. Doing a soft reset and going back into the usb to pc shows the box still checked.
I will try a hard reset.

I think thats the only answer at present- the inability to change the A/S settings on the device suggest something's got corrupted somewhere
I was able to get it to sync after a hard reset.
However, when I attempted to load Michy's light ROM the device rebooted and sat at "Loading..." with a white screen. The wrapper then said error connection failed.
If I soft reset the device it comes back to the loading... screen; if I hard reset the device, it comes back to the loading screen after the hard reset. How can I fix this?
blast. left the stupid sd card in while i did the first flashing.
Removed SD card, re-hard resetted, then re-ran the ROM updater.
Sometimes its OK, sometimes it isn't- just one of those little mysteries I guess!
Glad its OK now. Michy's Lite ROM is excellent
Solution for deleted active sync notification called replog
YES...you guys definitely ERASED your Active sync NOTIFICATION file called replog. As someone suggested...he ran his CLEANER...then the problem begun.
It is true that Hard Reseting the device will get you back that file, but there is an easy way to do it...I can't find the original article but this file I will post will RE-CREATE that deleted replog notification file that is needed by active sync to work.
So next time you try and clean-up...just make sure you won't delete any file named replog
To use this FIX, just place it on your SD Card and run the file. If you want you can create an icon at Windows>Start Menu>Programs>to whatever folder... that will work too for easy access.
Just a word of caution...DON'T RUN THE FILE MORE THAN ONCE...why? Because it will re-create the file again. Although it won't hurt in any way except eat up internal memory, but you don't want any duplicated file... right?
Hi all,
i am really very disappointed, already spent around 12 hours looking for a solution,
the WMDC does not run at all on my Vista machine which is Business 32-bit,
i tried to uninstall, install again, reboot, more than 20 times, with no luck
this is making me creazy, i couldn't find someone suffered the same
please help me, i am willing even to pay for this help
regards,
sounds like a corrupt vista install I would reinstall or restore it back to default
how to confirm its vista
Hi..
thanks for your post?
how did you confirm that its vista issue,
could i just put the vista CD and ask to rebuild?
will it remove my files on the system
yes itll delete everything
my advice would be to get 7
"i couldn't find someone suffered the same"
was a bit of a give away
you could try another vista computer to verify
or if you're using usb you could try using bluetooth and virsa versa
personally I never had any problems with vista wmdc
its not showing the interface
my home vista machine is working fine,
my machine, is not, its not yet about connecting my mobile,
the software it self is not showing,
i install it, without any error msg, it shows in the start menu, and in the programs of control panel,
but when i click on the icon in the start menu, nothing show at all,
i belive it should show the interface even if the mobile is not connected yet,
acctually it shows ew devices
hi.
it shows new devices as unknown device then the driver couldn't be found
if it's a work computer they prob just removed the rights of installing new hardware
from your user account
i tried both with my user which is part of the administrators group, and also tried with the administrator account directly,
both resulted the saem
it takes around 1 minute on the "0 remaining time"
then it just hide without saying its finished or completed,
the result is an icon in the start menu,
and in the windowsmobile directory in windows folder, it shows some files, like setup, and drivers
then if i check properties of the icon in the start menu, it shows that its for first time installation,
i click on it, it install again
then the changes are on the windowsmobile folder in windows folder more EXE files are there like WMDC.exe (but if run it, nothing comes out)
if i recheck the properties of the icon on the start menu, there is no more target application, (you could call it broken link)
whats happenning
i went through the installation part of it,
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/wmdc/install.htm
its exactly what happen with me,
but my side i reach the screen which shows "Installing device driver software"
then it failes after,
if i check the devices i find that it find a bluetooth device, but cannot install it correctly
I got my Samsung Omnia 7 yesterday and have been unable to get Zune to recognise it.
My Windows 7 PC recognises it, the drivers are installed fine. I've read about the issue with the corrupt certificate but no certificate ever gets created.
I've followed the advice on a blog which was to delete the folder at C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\, the folder get's recreated but still Zune fails to see me phone.
Is there anything else I can try? My phone is pre-NoDo status and is telling me there are updates but I can't get it hooked up to Zune to transfer music, update, etc

This may sound a little strange, but I saw several posts where similar problems have been solved this way:
did you try a different usb port?

Yeah, tried all 3 USB ports on my laptop. The phone is picked up in Windows by all of them but still the same in Zune If I plug the phone in then Zune starts so it's detecting the phone but doesn't get any further.
Updated Zune?

I downloaded Zune on Saturday so I thought I had the latest version. I'm going to try the password solution. My account is a domain account so getting it back to using my original password is a bit of a pain because of the password policy on the domain but the net admins are going to let me reset it tomorrow.
My password hasn't changed since I installed Zune but it has changed once since I got this laptop.
OK, so I've had my domain password set back to what it originally was but still no joy. The folder get's created in C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA but no certificate gets created in my personal store.
Is there no way to manually create the cert?
SOLVED: Turns out it was a piece of software called CoSign which is installed on my work laptop which deals with digital signatures. It had taken control of my personal cert store.
Uninstalling it has resolved the issue.
No Need Hard Reset!
Hi all who has this problem.(Even to myself before I did this.)
New fix WITHOUT A HARD RESET LIKE ABOVE SOLUTIONS!
Hope you are looked at this before doing a Hard Reset.
1) Start up diagnostics
OR
Call ##634# (if you dont got the diagnostic "app" in the apps homepage
2) UNPLUG IF YOU HAVE THE PHONE PLUGGED
3) with the Diagnostics Menu, press *#7284#
4) Press an option that is not Zune Sync(E.g. Micro USB or Modem)
DONT KEEP PRESSING THE OPTIONS. PRESS ONCE ON ONE OPTION ONLY AS IT SOMETIMES GETS F-ed Up.
5) Wait for the reboot when prompted
*AFTER REBOOT, REPEAT STEPS 1-3, At Step 4, press Zune Sync again this time, and Wait for REBOOT when prompted again. Tedious, but rewarding.
6) On the Zune software on your Windows, Press Settings at the top Right
7) Press Software in main-menu ---> General in sub-menu
8) UNCHECK "Start the Zune software when I connect a compatible device
9) Hit "Ok", exit Zune
10) CONNECT PHONE TO WINDOWS
11) Connect Phone, not in locked screen(dont know if it affects)
12) Start Zune Software.
BOOM ***** YOUR DONE!
