ok, so I recently finally upgraded to 6.1 pro. now, I have been looking around and see alot of 6.5 roms but I would like to stick with 6.1 for the time being.
now, I have used the search but that doesnt tell me much in terms of which one might be the best!
so, most stable and reliable rom with all the at&t bloat ware gone and thier grappy demo games gone also!!
thank you!!

Yes...a BIG thanks to all and aspecially guys like mUnrus who spend all their time coding and compiling the latest goodies for us geeks!
I own a Trinity myself (WM6-GPS by LVSW), bur yesterday my collegue's Wizard needed an upgrade. So i said to the poor guy: "Whoa! Let's hack the darn thing and get you WindowsMobile 6"...
After some well spent hours on the forum and the Wiki for the Wizard i was able to determine wether it was a G3 or G4 device he had, found out how to CID unlock this baby and ultimately we picked our choice from the plethora of nice WM6 ROM's that's out here... After 3 complete ROM flashes and the SIM and CID unlocking procdure, we've got a beautifull Wizard running WM6 by mUn (the NotTooSmart fixed version) fast and smoothly...
The Sticky posts and the Wiki were all so helpfull and crystalclear, that i didn't have to go and ask nOOb-questions anywhere... I'm not really a nOOb myself, cause i'm pretty used to flashing my own phones every now and then with the latest and greatest, but a Wizard was a completely new cup of tea for me (with the G3/G4 versions). So it proved to be a bit more work than just a single flash like my own phones, but with all the great tutorials i never went wrong on a single step of the whole procedure... Great stuff guys!
So my collegue run's WM6 on his Wizard (which had the oldest possible ROM on there... :i guess he is a nOOb to this stuff...) as from now, and he's very happy with it...
Ofcourse i didn't forget to tell him to upgrade AS to 4.5 before he could re-sync his device with Outlook, and within minutes after getting home he messaged me that his Wizard was back in business.
So, GUYS...! I wanna say a BIG thanks again to all who made all of this possible! Like mUn (and the other chefs) and all people who write these great tutorials... !
THNX !
Just like the idea of this thank you post.
so i like to thank everyone for joining in on this project and adding
there 2 cents
which in the end makes us richer and more fortunate
never i my 20 years of computerlife i would have thought that one would
make a device so much faster then my C64 and so much processingpower
in it that we probably wont use it 99% of the time.. lol
anyways i live for the moment this stuff being integrated in my wrist watch
All,
Just wanted to add my thanks to all the talented people who roam these forums ! I've benefited greatly from your work. Particular thanks to faria who provided me with working ROMs when I was beginning to wonder if I should just go buy another phone. Also to funman who guided me through building my own Roms when I thought that was beyond my skills.
I'm heading over to the Hermes forums now. A friend gave up on figuring his out and so he sold it to me for $200 (he didn't know about xda-developers!). I couldn't pass that up! I hope the guys over there are as nice !
Best wishes to you all!

Lucky Dog!! Bring back the ggod stuff you find over there!
You're in good company over there...
A few of us are in the Hermes FORUM, myself and Jose included.
Jump in, the water's fine!
See you there
Got myself a hermes today. Insurance company typo so got a vario 2 instead of 1 .
Just flashed olipro hard spl followed by pro black 3. Happy days
Helpful bunch too
Great to hear!
I've gotten off to a terrific start thanks to the Hermes forums. Installed Custel 2.5 WM6 and I'm back to almost the same setup that I had on my Wizard. I was very happy to find most everything transfered over (PocketBreeze, iLauncher, PocketWeather, phonealarm, rlToday, IM+, muns keyboard skin, and the JPL big button phone dialer !! About the only thing missing is BatteryStatus. The FAQ says there's no overclocking software for the Hermes?
And the speed using 3G! WOW!!! Absolutely worth it !!
To everyone that has a hermes,
There are already offical WM6 versions out.. maybe you should test some first before you brick your phone... i dont mean to sound the way it does but i'm still hoping t-mobile or at&t are gonna release an offical Wm6 for my MDA.. so i do haev to say good luck to everyone with there new hermes

I did. The first thing I did upon receiving the phone was load the official Cingular WM6 rom on it. Given that there was a WM6 for the hermes, I thought that maybe I'd just stick with that version.
However, I ran into some small annoyances (activesync problems) and it was missing some software apps that I gotten used to having (Task Manager as an example), so that's when I decided to try one of the "unofficial" roms. I did my homework and read through the load process and basically followed the instructions. Custel focuses on making Cingular compatible roms, so it was a good fit for my needs.
I guess I was very cautious about installing custom roms when I first got my wizard (prior to my hermes). But after all the annoyances with it (daily soft-resets, monthly hard-resets, ongoing network problems, etc., etc.), if I hadn't installed one, I would have given up on the phone. Another example of that: I got my hermes because a friend got fed up with it and got a Treo instead. From installing custom roms, I got into customizing them myself using faria's kitchen apps.
It's not for everyone and I understand that, but I've greatly benefited from the efforts of the guys who work so hard to build these custom roms !
Guys,
I've always had HTC phones, since the original XDA - back in those days there were perhaps only 3/4 cooked roms available and so the choice was fairly simple.
I'm looking to flash my Kaiser with a rom that's speedy, feature packed and has something particularly snazzy about it!! I've had a look at Roms available...and there's about 40!!!!!
What I'm looking for is an unbiased view from someone that has tried a number of roms and can recommend a rom that's a significant improvement over the standard Vodafone WM6.1 rom!
Please, who'll be my saviour!!!
Cheers, Ash
I am in the same boat with you!
I am currently using and liking HyperDragon III Jade OS 5.2.19974 Build 19974.1.2.8 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397121)
I was stuck on PDACorner's series for awhile, as well as NATF, but it seems that the newer releases from them are unstable on my phone, in my location.
There is always something that will shine in this ROM and will not exist in that ROM. (Unless you cook up one for yourself - I haven't ventured there yet)
Well I'm gonna go flash today's ROM Your saviour I am not, just adding my $0.02.
ok....here's my non-biased opinion...
but but before that i'd like to tell u that this thread might be closed by the end of my post here...since a mod will tell u that every person has his/her own taste in regards to what rom is best...
now my opinion....
u have to know that we are living in the kaiser manilla craze right now....if u dont know manilla is a new today screen interface which is pretty much eye candy only in my opinion....
if you want a good wm6.1 rom (without manilla)...u can try the new garmin DK6 rom....but since that rom is still new and might have sum bugs...i suggest u search for garmin DK3 series which comes in 1-naked 2-light 3-full versions...just to get a feel of what his roms are about...
garmin's roms are one of (if not) the best wm6.1 roms for kaiser and are 99.5% bug free...
thats my 2 cents
note: im sure u know this already but please dont forget to either CID unlock or flash hard-spl before flashing these roms!!!

Thanks guys for your feedback so far - this thread definitely shouldn't be closed, a forum is for discussion about personal views, thats what we're doing!
I'll have a check of the Garmin roms then, sounds interesting - let me know how you guys get on flashing (LOL) - anyone else?
Garmins new DK6 is out and is very fast u must try it, his roms are simply great as are many chefs but his seam to be the smoothest
Hey there,
originally i was running T-mobiles wm6.0.
From there i have moved straight to:
[3 November 08] HyperDragon Jade OS 5.2.19974 Build 19974.1.2.8
which, in my oppinion, is a lot smoother and adds a lot more usability to the phone (E.g, i never had voice command on 6.0, Manilla didnt work as it should, skipping to a certain letter in your contacts list is now easier due to an iphone-esque side menu etc.)
Ok, so manilla is eye candy, may negate some of the tweaks and updates done for speed increase, but at the end of the day, over a standard ROM, its still faster.
The only issue(s) i can say i have had is that the touch screen seems a lot less responsive, and the speed gains were only really noticable when i used Kaisertweak and changed all the caches to as large as they would go, but it is still a very good and stable build IMO. Oh, and manilla doesnt support landscape view (although all other normal elements such as texting, contacts etc do)
I'm probably going to update within the next few days, there is a manilla update in the latest one (oooo) but that can wait a little bit i guess.
just my £0.02
i get kind of nervous with cooked roms... had a few bad experiences where i'd be hard=resetting and rebuilding 2 or 3 times in a day.
i put in the latest WM6.1 ROM posted here... had a few issues that needed to be resolved, but otherwise am very happy with it.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I can use the 6.1 ROMs on my Kaiser or am I limited to 6.0 ROMs?
I tried to download the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade from HTC but when I enter my Serial No. it says its unsuitable for my phone.
I bought it on ebay and its full of rubbish and seems heavily tampered and has lots of querky things going on - so I thought I would just flash it with one of your ROMs. I don't want to 'brick' it if 6.1 is incompatible. I have spent days reading the (astoundingly detailed) FAQ's but, maybe 'cos I'm dumb and don't understand the difference between ROM and OS, I'm worried I will trash the phone if HTC say its incompatible.
I'm rambling now because what I don't really know is whether A ROM includes OS or sits on top of OS.
Regards,
JN
You can, of course, use 6.1 roms on your kaiser. I suggest you just go to the kaiser section, read a bit, and find yourself a nice ROM.. the kaiser section is flooded with ROMs.. and good ones
Thanks for replying. I found several posts today from people who have trouble with screen touch alignment and wondered if there was a hardware incompatibility with some Kaiser's and WM 6.1. Also, I found the answer to my question about ROMs and OS in Q1 of the Kaiser ROM Flashing FAQ which I had already read but obviously not taken in.
I shall give one a try then.
Many thanks,
I'd suggest giving a few.. until you get it right
LOL
Ok then. What are the chances of totalling the phone? Mind You, I've got to the point where if I junk it I won't care too much. So I shall just have some fun.
Thanks for the reassurance and advice.
You should be able to hard reset if everything fails...which should save you in the worst case situation... I beleive though from reading up on it if you unlock your phone with HARDSPL it is supposed to stop you from being able to brick your phone
First of all, try try a few roms without spling more than once, find the hardspl guide for kaiser in the kaiser forum and hardspl it so you can flash as many roms as you like.
afterwards, just start flashing roms. bricking a device isn't that common if you do things properly. make sure all roms you flash are meant for kaiser..
Thanks again for the help and advice, which I have followed - I've applied HARDSPL as recommended. I've only had a chance to apply one ROM so far (AtheneOS WWE) which looks fantastic IMHO but I have what seems like a radio problem as I have no sound. So I shall have a go now at different radios I suppose? That's what most of the replies to posts seem to suggest for lack of sound after flashing. Its easier than I thought this lark - I can see this may be habit forming though
Great stuff you guys .

Another Happy (rom) Flasher!
lol. go ahead and enjoy flashing.
Hello,
I have been away from this sort of thing for a long time. I have been looking through the forums, but there is so much information, I can't find what I am looking for.
I have an AT&T Fuze that I am just not happy with the stock OS, and I am hoping to find a good replacement. I like the newest Windows Mobile 6.5, so I hope to find something in that.
I use my phone for calls, Internet, Gmail, Google calendar and Tom Tom. I don't need much else. I have had problems with Opera, so I am prefer to stick with IE, unless there is a Google chrome for mobile? I am open to suggestions. I like to be able to organize my start screen and such as well.
Thanks for any help!
Best RAPHAEL roms, in my opinion.
EnergyROM is VERY GOOD for users of all types! I would recomend this rom to anybody who wants speed, stability, and confidence that there will always be somebody there to cook your rom. NRGZ28, the chef is by far the best chef i know. I say you should try the CHT version! Don't tell anybody, but even i use EnergyROM on some of my phones

If you like living on edge, you can try my rom series, MonaROM!
I constantly update it, and try to smash bugs as they come along. MonaROM is becoming pretty stable, although there are a few bugs here and there. You should totally check out my thread. I will cook in whatever you want or request!

And, if the above roms don't suit you, then maybe you'll like TAEL rom.
Cool, thanks for the tip!
