Is this just a typo or does the P3470 really have better RAM than the other HTC phones?
http://www.htc.com/www/product/p3470/specification.html
See where it says "DDR"? Well all of the other phone specs pages says "SDRAM". Alos, the processor is 201mhz...really? Is it just a better processor or what?
I am confused about this phone. Thanks for the help
You can get all reliable info at www.pdadb.net
but the pharos comes with 128MB ram.. which isn't ESPECIALLY more than any other device..
about the processor... it's 200Mhz.. which many other devices have.

Where did you here Intel Xscale is not compatible with GPS? The Fujtisu-Siemens Loox N-series all have Intel CPUs and GPS.
they use an external chip xscale dont have gps on chi the qualcomm does

let me disagree: Samsung's later, 5xxx/6xxx series CPU's (coming in iPhones and the latest E-TEN devices) are far better than the ARM9 4xxx series ones.
i was thinking about existing REAL devices with wm0x...
htc does use some ****ty ass CPU
Hello,
can anyone explain me, why does the HTC Touch Pro 2 get a older Processor like HTC Touch Pro 1? HTC Touch Pro get a Qualcomm MSM7201A with 65nm (less Battery) and the HTC Touch Pro 2 have a Qualcomm MSM7200A with 90 nm (need more Batterypower), this Processor is over 2 Years old!!! Is there a misstake on the Website of the specification on HTC?
Thanks for your answer.
Well, I understand your annoyance with an old processor, and although I'm definitely getting the TP2 if I can, I would certainly prefer a faster clock speed, maybe 628 mHz or higher. What I don't understand is where you are getting the chip measurements. Are you refering to this spec's page?
Dave
Hi,
yes, your refering spec's website is right. PDADB has auso the same spec. I don't know, why i've got to pay for a new mobilephone with a old processor. :-( I hope this is a misstake on the website.

You don't... You can wait a month or two till the Touch Pro 3 comes out, which will probably have the new Snapdragon 1ghz processor like the Toshiba G01. Seems like htc is releasing new devices every few months or so now, so wait a little while and what you want will be available soon.

I do hope you are wrong, because if you are not I will keep waiting for the next phone to come out and never upgrade my phone until year 2050...
For me it is the same too. I won't even take a glance at any phone with only 624MHz on it. I need something faster. I have an HTC Universal (524MHz), and I think that was slow after loading all my applications. The same goes with my HTC Advantage X7510 (624MHz). An open application runs fine, but you will notice how slow a QUALCOMM processor is upon opening the application.
I really think the combination of HTC and Qualcomm processors are not a good match. I promised myself, I won't buy another HTC device if it has a QUALCOMM processor in it.

wow! this phone looks beautiful. any1 knows the price already?
I dont think they will do any change in next 8-12 months after the release on TP2 which clearly targeted for bussiness user (Email, calls, battery live) Anyhow I do think the next Touch HD will be in the level of Toshiba G01 and targeted mainly on multimedia (games, movies etc.)

It has to be something else thats causing the problem, not just the HTC/Qualcomm combination.
The HTC T-mobile G1 is very responsive and fast and uses the same qualcomm cpu, also the Xperia X1 is using it and I've read it outperforms the Diamond/Touch Pro in multimedia department. HTC developed the X1 aswell.
I'm confused...

When you say HTC T-Mobile G1, are you referring to ANDROID OS? That alone is a big difference. Unfortunately, I like Windows Mobile better at the moment for an all around OS with a wide variety of free and 3rd party applications.
With regards to X-Peria, it's made by SONY which specializes on multimedia, so that is no surprise at that department. But looking at Xperia videos, it is still slow, especially at opening and starting applications. I bet it will even be slower upon performing multi-task applications running in the background.
I read at Brighthand that the new HTC THOTH will also have a Qualcomm processor but it would be a 1GHz processor. So I guess, we will see by next year how HTC will use these powerful processors, or maybe they will cripple it in some way. They always find something to screw-up. So I guess we will have to wait.

I really thought HTC made the xperia for SONY.
Anyway my point was that the xperia is using the same qualcomm cpu like the diamond/pro for example and the xperia outperforms them both in multimedia performance. And if I'm wrong about the xperia made by HTC then ok you are right.

No you are right, maybe I should had made it clear, the XPeria is made by HTC, but Sony definitely has something to do with it's multimedia capabilities. Sony would not just let HTC make something and not have any control over it.

Hey, the Touch Pro uses a cdma msm7501a cpu which was made last year.
The Touch Pro 2 uses a msm7600 cdma cpu from 2007.
The TP uses a newer cpu than the atp2.

The Sony Xperia is based on the same cpu as the Touch Pro. Look it up in wikipedia.
Hey guys,
I'm currently having HTC Gene and running it on a custom WM 6.5 with Manila rom all picked up from here.... Learned a lot from here esp how to cook add packages to roms etc etc..... even using Android on my Gene... In short realised the power of "Windows Mobile".
Gene is just a OMAP850 200Mhz processor with 128 ROM and 64 RAM.... so kinda low on specs... coz when it comes to running apps like opera 10 and manila running in background..... so i'll be buying a new phone...
So i'm askin u all experts with all the experience which one should I buy?? I would have gone for HTC HD or PRO2 but they are out of my budget.. ie $300-$350 (Rs. 14,000 - 15,500). I know I can't expect a speedster there but which one will give me best value for money ???
And my Indians friends here.... May b u might know better abouy our market conditions.....
Thanks in adv....
Luv u guys...

Hello
According to me right now in the market in this range the best value for money is the htc’s touch which is around 14 to 15K in Bombay but its same specifications like your Gene except doubled RAM/ROM.
If I were you I would go for HTC touch 3G, but still for this you need to extend your funds by 3 or 4thsd.
cheers!
i basicly want a higher processor & memory... so which is the cheapest available....???
Perhaps would be easier to know how much you want to spend on a device?
And after that recommendations can come.
have a look on marketplace to have an idea of the prices.
Good luck,
Take a look at Ebay for different htc devices and prices!
for the price u can't really go wrong with Diamond or Touch Pro, I've seen both on ebay for less than $200. I say save ur money for a month or two and pick up TouchPro2 or Diamond2. U get the support of this site and get a bunch of Cool ROMS. Its best to save ur money up to get something more contemporary.
If you wanna go cheap, get a HTC Touch Viva. Pretty good for it's price:

I heard from a friend that the hd2s processor only utilises 7% of its power, and that there is a mod/cab on this forum that unlocks the full potential making the phone superfast.
Im not referring to Clean Ram which I have already downloaded but the actual cab for unlocking the full potential of the processor.
Ive been searching for it for ages but cant find it
Can anyone help
cheers
Gadget
So your suggesting it uses 7% of 1 ghz? Somehow I dont think so, or they would have stuck a lower processor in there.
There might be some energy saving feature which means it uses only some of the power when its not doing much.
But I cant see them restricting it that much.
it's maybe chainfire HD2 driver
isnt 1GHZ good enough for you LEO guys.... LOL
WR-Tools ResInfo
my hd2 runs with 553MHz and 336MB RAM;
wana see how fast your cpu cane run?
try WR-Tools ResInfo (freeware, multi-lang),
also shows the akku temp and runtime;
ww.wolfgang-rolke.de/wince/
(cant link the url right, new user ect..)
use "ResInfo.ARM.300.cab" for the Qualcomm CPU in your HD2
maby it shows crap, but i cane belive the infos from this prog..
greatz!

You are wrong. It utilises it's full potential if it's needed.
yes, i was wrong..
553MHz = BUS speed
is there anything to underclock the Hd7>
Hi,
I remember that the HTC phones had a very bad 3D performance because the gpu was deactivated by qualcomm.
Do the new HTC phones have the same issues like the old ones back then?
Is there a list where I can see which models are affected?
thanks
the ones u are talking about are the old non cortex ones .... just be sure to get one with 800-1000mhz , that will be either a 1st or 2nd gen snapdragon with Ok 3d capability
Thank you for the valuable information
